There is so much history here. We were showed all of the fort's compartments, pole barns, hallways, and underground walkways. Alan was our tour guide. He is so full of knowledge and you can tell he truly enjoys sharing this with you. I had the best time with my sister and niece spending a few hours with Alan.

Home schooling day out -- world history day. Live actors to take you back to that place in time, along with a guide to share some facts and history with us. We loved it! We even did the pledge of allegiance, since it was a school day. They take donations and I strongly advise to donate.

Great tour. I went to Saturday 3:00 p.m. tour with my kids today. Absolutely fantastic one hour tour. So much to learn about history. Great people. They are 100% volunteers. Please don't forget to donate!

Plan to attend the annual Old Ft Macs Days and the Great Los Angeles Air Raid events. Going on a normal day gets you an informative tour. Going to those events are memory makers.

The museum is located in a park. If you just want to visit the museum, do not go because it is closed. The road and the parking lot to the fort are also closed. We asked about 10 people, nobody knew exactly where it is and we were told to walk to different directions. We did enjoy some beautiful coastal scenery but were still very disappointed because we just wanted to visit the museum. Somebody should update the hours.

Great views of the coast and full history, and many photo opportunities. Lots of green spaces to walk your dog or sit with family.

Bunker/museum was open but volunteer staff were nowhere to be seen. I got a really creepy vibe when I walked in, so I left with my toddler. Doesn’t seem safe to leave a place like that unlocked and unattended for any period of time.

Had a great time and one of the volunteers gave us a tour through the tunnels. It’s was a great experience, and he even opened the gift shop so we could buy some shirts.

Awesome little piece of history preserved. The docents are very knowledgeable and help paint a picture of what things were like. You can only go inside during one of the guided tours, but they're free unless you'd like to donate.

The tour guide was amazing. He knew everything about everything. A complete explanation of how everything worked and the reasons why. Go to the beach view point first to understand what they are talking about.

Outstanding visit this morning! Our family made an impromptu trip to this hidden local gem. So much local history is just hidden along our coast. We were all taken by surprise by how engaging and how much there was to see. Our tour guide gave us a personal tour of batteries Osgood and Farley. These 14" guns were responsible for coastal protection from enemy naval bombardment. Though the guns themselves have been long since removed, they give tours of the ammunition depot, radio room, plotting room, and generator room. So much of the equipment is maintained in a working state. Amazing and interesting place to visit. Thank you! And please be sure to support the museum when you go.

Lots of neat history here, good to bring your kids, unless they’re easily spooked. It feels like there’s always someone behind you even when there isn’t..... But an important place in local history

Great place for kids and adults. We spent 4 hours there and the kids were still engaged. My only beef is the parking fees. We paid more for parking than the entrance fee but that's CA...

This place is one of the hot spots for tourist and locals alike. Children run in between the lights ocationally swinging on them and sparking the chase of local security while teenagers straighten hair, look down at toes with knees bent and takes duck lip selfies for snap chat and the gram.

From 1916 to 1945, Battery Osgood Farley was the Upper Reservation of Fort Macarthur and served as operation post for defense of the harbor against enemy attack from sea.

Went to a special event here after it had closed and it was fantastic. It had a T Rex to greet you at the front door. What a way to start out the tour. The planetarium was closed to us, but everything else was opened, and it took a couple of hours to go through it all. I had to go through the rain forest exhibit twice. I wish that I lived closer so I could visit again.

This a very beautiful historical place. So much history is embedded within the walls of these bunkers. I can pretty much spend a long time reading up on all the interesting facts posted on the walls. There are cases with historical items. Overall, this place transports you to the World War 2 Era tdr minute you walk in. I really love the music they play throughout this place. There is a "donation" box at the entrance, I suggest you bring extra cash... Well worth it... This place will never get old...
