This is a wonderful place to bring kids. There are plenty of life guards and the water is very calm, but please do watch your kids regardless. It can get very crowded so please don't be like me and get there early. Also this is in the middle of a residential area so please be polite and be respectful with the residents. In addition please don't leave your trash all over the place and if you are going to drink don't bring glass bottles, as my daughter found a big piece of glass in the water.

We love coming to the Colorado Lagoon. It’s a protected ecological preserve. Swimming allowed in roped off areas. There is no fishing allowed. Signs posted are often ignored. Don’t be a poacher. It’s protected for a reason. Clean up after Yourself.

Great place to bring the kids to play on the playground, or take them on the beach. It's very calm since it's a lagoon. Lifeguards are in duty during the day as well. Bring the family for a picnic! Clean restrooms as well!

Beautiful park, on a lagoon which runs into the sea. Plenty for the kids to do, children's play area with swings and climbing frame. Sand and beach onto the lagoon. Picnic tables and public toilets. Only suggestion is to keep the toilets cleaner (although that may be difficult if public) and to make sure the sprinklers come on at correct times (albeit the damp was refreshing!) - therefore still worth 5 stars

The Colorado Lagoon is a beautiful place with lots of wildlife and a nice trail. It also has a nice beach area and a dock. During the Summer it is very crowded with people from all around the city, so I don't recommend trying to go for a beach day, but to walk or bike through, or to go over the school year it is amazing. There are lifeguards and a playground area that was just recently renovated. Most of the lagoon itself is a reserve, but there is a fairly large area for swimming, etc.

One of the best trails to take a stroll in Long beach definitely, not crowded and at the moment people are being responsible and most wear masks. You can even swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ there is a lifeguard on duty before 5 pm it looks like, and awesome place for a picnic with plenty of shade and space for kids and pups πŸ• to play.

This was a 5 star place for our family...but I guess the city doesn't are about its residents. The lagoon is infested with Jellyfish. You would think someone from animal control or Coast Guards would come and try to remove them...or even put up signs to warn people. Not cool...my daughter almost stepped on one. Would of been all bad.

Great scenic lagoon in a medium-size city in Southern California by the ocean nearby. It's a quiet place. There's tables and benches where one can sit-down and read or eat. There's open areas to set-up picnics (or put up a small "easy-up").

It may be small but it’s absolutely gorgeous. Best times to come to the lagoon or at sunset and sunrise! Lots of waterfowl to watch and other animals that are there occasionally such as coyotes skunks raccoons or possums etc. it’s a beautiful place and a treasure for all of Long Beach

Absolute go to spring or summer when I'm in my property in the East Village Arts District , Long Beach Factoids: 5th cleanest body of water in California..micro biologists have been experimenting on it for years as it was a sewer deposit earlier. 2) John Wayne was a life guard there in the 40s 3) its a 20 min amazing bike ride from DTLB

I really like the playground remodel! The bench seats and tables around the playground is a really good design as well. If I want to eat lunch or just sit down and watch the kids play the tables and benches are positioned very well. Also the concrete steps area is also very good for sitting and playing on and around. This is a fun park and is in a really beautiful location next to the Lagoon and golf course.

This park has plenty of grassy areas, the surrounding area is nice and quiet from my experience, I enjoyed spending time with friends here, it was peaceful.

Great place for kids. They will have tons of fun. Only bad thing is the parking, there is not much and you have to bring a lot of quarters, parking meters only get coins

Really nice! Playground. Kids can play on sand. The water is a little questionable. But to each their own

My first time here and good experience. I liked that there's a park space to picnic and socialize with your group. There's a beautiful area around the lagoon to walk around and enjoy the scenery. I do recommend.

We got there late, so it was dark...even tho it said it was still open on line. . Regardless,, it was fun. There were fish being super loud and jumping out of the water. My two teen granddaughters loved it. They were in town for a day from Arizona. I can't wait to take them during the day on another trip.

I love how it always seems like there's way too many people here despite being so small. It shows how much the surrounding communities enjoy it

Me lying on the grass trying to do a selfish with my 5 month, can't-stay-still Shep mix. Another gorgeous Long Beach park with its own unique vibe, a way different vibe than any other park. Caters well to young families & litte ones, dog walkers, people spending quality time alone- reading a book-on the lap top or wasting time texting away like me. The Lagoon water is best for baby & juniors to enjoy grass-side and sand-side, sunbathers & chat groups, and picnic parties &; rec activities. It gets really, I mean really, very crowded here and parking is tight but the lucious grass stretch, so inviting makes for an ideal place to just stop & lay back. Colorado Lagoon borders the marina waters and another park and is alongside a heavily traveled road leading to the marina, the beaches and Belmont Shore area. It's also great for just driving along cruising, sight seeing and even a pit-stop to take a break, power nap, walk, talk, chill or a place to eat your take-out. It's a great area for group parties and activities too. Although it's nice, it can get crowded, traffic can be heavy and parking is a commodity but the beautiful view; awesome weather, and loving life vibe is what attracts people here. I took a car ride just to take the long way home but ended up stopping, parking & getting out to sit under a shady tree and catch up on messages. Its was a post card weather day-couldn't pass it up. It's times like this that I'm grateful to enjoy the great lifestyle that Long Beach has to offer. Colorado Lagoon is a beautiful example of one of the many places to enjoy-the stuff that makes up Long Beach.
