A little dead and the stores are few and far between but they're trying! This place needs to survive! Back to the future was filmed in the parking lot! This mall needs to embrace that more and leverage it!

Very clean and spacious, lots of parking but also a lot of empty stores in the mall. Back to the future sign still there but people need to go out more and don't let the malls die.

We visited the mall as Back to the Future fans. It was great to see the filming location in the parking lot. There was a "Twin Pines Mall" sign inside which was a surprise/easter egg! As for the mall itself, it was sad and seemed pretty dead, hence my 3 star review, as I understand most people would be going here to shop and would probably rather have an honest review on the shopping, rather than my nerdy BTTF stuff.

I feel bad for this mall. Covid seems to have really hit it hard. Ironic that being in such a densely populated area it's almost always mostly empty and a few of the larger stores have been emptied out and make the mall feel sad and abandoned in certain areas. It's a beautiful mall, it just needs more trendy stores. Worth going to and spending money in to help keep it open. It's very clean and it seems like they do a lot to keep it up.

Great mall, they have the back to the future "twin pines mall" sign and it blanks 1:16am because well you know what happens, it is a 2-story mall with escalators they also have round 1, pretzels, Asian food, knife store, hat store, Burlington. They also have an event every October 26

Sad that this mall made famous in Back to the Future is going badly downhill. JC Penney, visible in the film, is long gone. Sears and Macy's are closed and empty. Burlington is run like a thrift store, a really lowbrow vibe. Only the AMC theatre and Round 1 arcade & bowling alley keep the place on life support.

This is the Back to the future mall! Doc Brown was here! And Marty was too. Don't miss the chance to visit and stand where an awesome movie was made. Park by panera for the best pics. Beware the mall is shutting down like most and has an odd odor.

A lot of stores were closed here. The good thing about this place is that Back to the Future was filmed here and the Twin Pines Mall sign is inside the mall. The sign located inside the mall, on the same side where the filming location is, just walk into that entrance and before you get to the center of the mall, the sign will be on your rightside. "Run for it Marty!"

Fine as a mall, half empty and not very exciting. But I'm very sad to see there's not more references to it's history as the Twin/Lone Pines Mall from Back to the Future. Always sad to see malls slowly dying, but extra sad when it's one that may have a bit of extra life if they'd emphasize their place in pop culture history. Paint some flaming tire marks in the parking lot or something, at least. A cheap and fun little nod for the people who come to see the BTTF sign.

What happened is that covid hit this mall pretty badly. Many small mom and pop shops are closed for good. I saw H&M being restocked by their employees. The movie theater is open and Round 1 is also open. Oh, 24 hours fitness is definitely still open with lots of people exercising and swimming in the outdoor pool. Come on, people, we can't let the "Twin Pine Mall" from Back to the Future die out like this when we don't even have self lacing shoes or hover boards!

Disappointing. A lot of the stores are closed. The AMC is nice and offers a nice experience. Loved the kiddie car selection that kids can ride for 25 cents+. Nice arcade.

This use to be a really healthy mall, but as of now almost half the stores are closed. I really hope the make come back. It's very quiet and not too populated, but the Macy's and Burlington are still open. The AMC movie theatre is still open as is the Round 1 Amusement store. It's still a nice mall.

Nice mid-size mall, with a 80's charm. Sadly, it's loosing stores rapidly. The mall was Clean, but less frequency than years before .. But still remains as an original site of the Back to the future movie.

I used to love coming to this mall, the last two times I went there. I’ve seen this very suspicious man. The first time was with a friend, on my birthday ! It was empty and he was tall , light , skinny , wore a black muscle shirt and black jeans and a hat. He was following us up and down stairs until we went into Claire’s with some other families (the mall was dead and I honestly didn’t come back for a while) Today for the second time after months , I come back and yet again. The same man, he looked like he was on his way out. He stared at me and followed right behind me . I felt so uncomfortable , I tried going else where. But when I turned around he was right behind me and we made very awkward eye contact and he walked off very suspiciously and fast. For any of my ladies ! And family with children, please keep an eye out. Me and my friend also seen him trying to walk up on a child around 4 , but the kid ran back fast to his mom. This guy is no good. Stay safe yall .

Fun mall., we went and saw a good amount of deals with the clothes and stuff for school. They had some cool stores I never seen before. Me being from Texas., it was cool to see another mall and try some new things out. The kids loved the open area and all the toy rides they had. It was a warm day out but they had it nice and cool inside. Much appreciated. Will return next time we’re in town.

Beautiful large open mall. Great place to beat the heat. Not much to do here. Not many stores left open. It's pretty empty. Anchor stores have left. AMC seems to be the last anchor. I feel sad for it. It has so much potential. It's in a prime spot and great area. Regardless most stores have closed. Its like walking through a modern ghost town.

Really a dead mall now..... too many vacant stores and food court is the worst with only couple things available. I wish they finally keep stores to stay and add more food. UPSIDE IS THE SPOCHA(FUN and worth it! reasonable entry fee) they got at the side of the mall Round1(too pricey for fun)

Went to the movies here. Overall experience was good but def could've been better. Only two of there kiosks outside to buy tix were working, the lights came on inside the theatre hallway through the movie, and then some of their reclining seats weren't reclining or would sink after reclining so had to keep it standard position. Slightly dissapointed because these can be fixed but either they don't want to, or no one cares enough to thoroughly check their equipment and operations better.

This mall has alot of shops that has closed down. During the pandemic, the Macy's got out of business. There are alot of Restaurants and stores that have been around here for a long time and then lost the business and changed to a new Resturant or a new Stores name. I used to come to this Mall alot to buy dark chocolates from See's Candies and from the Macy's that are both closed down and out of business. Now if I do want to buy dark chocolate or black licorice from this shopping mall, I will have to purchase the dark chocolates or black licorice candy and snack items from Buligton Coat Factory or Ross that are inside this mall. The Sears, Macy's, Forever 21, See's Candies and some other clothing stores or snack shops in this mall are not available and permanently closed. I personally would not want to come back to this shopping mall because the snack shops, clothing stores and the previous restaurants around the mall such as Out Back Steak House, Joe's Crab Shack, T.G.I. Friday's, Black Angus which is now B.J.'s Brew House, Acapulco which is now Golden Corral, El Torito which is now Corner Bakery has been mostly changed to a different resturant and I haven't had a chance to eat at Cane's. Chicken and Kalaveras Resturant.

Wow. It's so empty and other than Hot Topic and some clothes places, all the stores are selling the same collectibles for different high prices. The knife store is the best of them. The food court has no good food, only three places...

I love how this mall used to be popular when they filmed the scenes for Back to the Future in the parking lot where Marty McFly and Doc Brown were testing the DeLorean up to 88 miles per hour. I even came here with the community group a few times.

Dining choices within the mall are plentiful, offering a reasonably varied culinary spectrum. From grab-and-go bites to casual sit-down dining, gustatory desires can be satiated without venturing far. The mall does proffer parking; however, this boon is not devoid of challenges. Yet, Puente Hills Mall finds itself in an arena rife with competition, facing neighboring commercial giants boasting a cornucopia of shopping options and entertainment extravaganzas. I was comping fro my Doctor appt and I decided to go to the mall and catch the bus to PIH hospital. I've been going to that mall since I was a kid! I love it, and I love the bus how it takes me straight to Whittier. I recommend that route. The #285 get.you there right away, to Whittier. Have a Blessed day and thank you for reading the reviews.

Great place to walk into and find all the major stores have close. Like every other sesspool in LA County that get more stuff stolen from them then they can sell. If you decide to go in make sure you call a tow truck as you walk in, you'll need it when you return as you'll find you car without wheels and/or a catalytic converter. The place is a dumping ground for homeless, tweakers, hypes, and other degenerates as there is a major buss terminal. Used to be a great place back in the twin pines mall era.

Big parking space and is a foothill bus stop

  • 5/5 Xan 10 months ago on Google
We honestly need more security in front of the bus stop. There's too many druggies and junkies, along with gang related influences. They need to deal with it before it gets out of hand

Deadly no stop sign turns after entering via Azusa Ave. Not worth the risk of car accidents, especially peak hours. Watching out the mad crowd, heading for fast foods!

I used to love this mall but it's literally abandoned and half empty these days. The side near the movie theatre is still pretty lively, but if you walk to some of the far corners of the mall, it's incredibly creepy to see all the boarded-up businesses and dark spaces. It's sad.

Nice and ample parking but it is quite lonely here . It is a place that looks dark and gives you the chills completely. Be Aware of your surroundings and park in a lighted area

Over the years the situation of this mall just doesn't seem to improve. Feels rundown and dying with a lot of empty stalls. Still not a bad place to escape the heat.

  • 2/5 Rene A. 1 year ago on Google
This mall is almost empty now. The original anchor department stores like JC Penney, Sears, Robinson and Macy's are gone. Guessing they might convert this place to an affordable housing site in the near future.

  • 5/5 Jose A. 1 year ago on Google
Update Maybe 20% at best of the stores are left everything else is gone. AMC still there. Food court only about three venues are left. Nice place to walk but a shadow of its former glory.

I like the mall. Back to the future took place here. I see nothing wrong as far as the structure. Covid affected it some how though. Today was kind of hot today inside the mall. Some major brands need to believe in it again. I hope for the best. We need to believe in it.

  • 5/5 Tabor 6. 1 year ago on Google
Sadly, this is not the mall it used to be. Many empty stores, a reduced food court. The upside is that it's super easy to find parking and there isn't a crazy amount of people to deal with inside. I wonder if well established brands like AMC and the fact that it is a final stop for multiple Foothills Transit buses are what keeps it open.

  • 1/5 Nadim M. 1 year ago on Google
Very sad!!! At least 80% of the store are now Closed. This used to be such an amazing place. Lots of great memories. The management needs to do some serious changes to save this place, lower rents to attract more stores, or knock it down and make it a mixed housing with the shopping center, & restaurants or something. I feel sorry for the stores that still exist.

  • 5/5 shannon l. 3 months ago on Google • 2 reviews New
I love this mall even though it seemed like its dying. I hope it can renovate and re strategize their business. They can always have different stores. For example, Arcadia mall has the 99 ranch market to attract the traffic. The population here is different and the types of stores it takes to create business are different. Always good to spend some time in the mall during the lunch time.
