Over price food that don't taste good. No highchairs for little kids. No trades for your food so they put your food in bags. Tables & chairs are dirty. I had to ask 2 people before the lady just did it

Was very hungry late late late one night abd didn’t want the usual "Fast Food" which is the omly thing available after 1:00 am. But the big truck stop on P.C.H. & Santa Avenue, has pretty decent Hot Coffee. And, there's a Winchell's Donut across the street. And then, there is "Golden Star Restaurant." Since my friend and I had not been there, we thought we'd give it a try. "WOW...!!!!" Their menu has just about anything your heart (or tummy) may want! Trying not to eat heavy, I ordered a stack of pancakes, my friend ordered French Toast and I added 3 link sausages each with coffee. I said "trying" right! Trying to no avail...ate the most delicious pancakes I'd had in a long time! Thick & fluffy & large! I barely got them down... Even though we could not eat inside, the Cashier/Waitress, was sooo...nice, I didnt mind esting in the car. DEFINITELY GOING BACK...!!!!

The food takes way too long. I placed an order four people ahead of me and it took literally 27 minutes. The food is the same as Tommy's or Tom's Burgers and it took way long for them to serve it. The order was a simple hamburger special. Union rings are the worst. I have never seen super Orange Trump like onion rings. Most of the menu is overpriced

This place was a favorite for me and my family. Recently the quality of the food has changed especially the golden California burger. The chicken is thinner and not as good as they once were. Tried it a couple of times more and it’s not the same. If your food isn’t better or close to mine then I’ll stick to mine and I’ll save my money 💴 P.S If your cutting costs Charge more but don’t cheat me on the meal

My cheese burger 🍔 combo was delicious 👍 except my Onion rings!! I got three fresh onion rings and the rest where burnt 🔥🔥🔥 so I dump them with out trying any of them onion rings.. please try to do better not just for me but for everyone..

Been coming here since 2009. Prices have gone up dramatically and their food was alright, it just had a nice vibe eating there back in the day and now it's bad. Whoever is cooking in the back made my hamburger and sliced the tomatoe in half and straight up through a whole half tomatoe in my burger and 2 avocados in there. Breakfast burrito was FULL OF HASHBROWN and barely any sausage or egg it was very disappointing. They also didnt even chop up sausage just threw full pieces in there. You get your food in bags makes you feel unwelcomed they no longer give trays. Also, NO REFILLS. Back then they gave 1 free refill, there was a time where they charged 50 cents and now NO REFILL and they charge you a soda like if you're buying a 2 liter at a liquor store.

4 stars. Burger was good. Fries were prepared crispy like I requested. Price was reasonable. Place was clean and quiet. Went on a weekday after 7pm. Overall satisfied and full.

If i can put zero stars I would. I ordered 2 fried chicken dinners and mind you I have been going there for YEARS since I was a child and the worst experience ever food looked super old and soggy French fries look like if they were sitting there all morning and fried chicken was super hard and vegetables looked super reheated and rice had pieces that were hard and was super salty and broccoli was over cooked and Italian squash... so I call and complain and this young man answered told me the manager was on a business call so then I told him I would like to speak to him and he said it wasn't a guarantee to catch him there always in n out from the restaurant so then I say to myself then who else do I call so here I am typing the horrible experience I had this afternoon bad customer service I have experienced they have always been amazing idk if there was a change with the cooks to the cashiers but I am very unhappy

I've been here for breakfast abd for dinner at about 4:30 AM on different days of the week. Breakfast was insanely....GREAT!!!! A full stack of pancakes ARE 3 THICK LARGE PANCAKES COOKED TO PERFECTION....!!!! WISH I could say the same for their Chili Cheese Burger & Fries w/small Root Beer....disappointing (putting it nicrly). "Whaaat...???" That's right! Disappointed as we could have gone to Del Taco for a Delicious Chili Cheese Burger & Fries w/Large Root Beer for less than $25.00...!!!! Golden Star's hamburger was nothing more than a poorly assembled burger cooked in a rush w/what tasted like a cheap cam of chili from the grocery store barely warmed-up! Fries were nothing special, either. And the small Root Beer? eh! Needless to say, my friend and I, will NOT be eating here very often, and when we do...BREAKFAST ONLY!

If you need food and want a variety of ways to feel adequate about your meal, this is the place to go. Mediocre is a very apt description of everything. The prices are kinda meh, attitude is standoffish, lack of free refills is disappointing, the food is able to satiate hunger and not much more, etc... but there was an expansive selection of foods, all of which can equally disappoint.

U guys gotta pay more attention to the orders. I asked for a cheeseburger combo. I get a plane cheeseburger (no lettuce tomatoes onions etc..). I let the guy know that my cheeseburger was plane. He takes it back to put the extra stuff, when he brings it back it don't have no cheese. NO MAMEN!!! But the 🍔 was good.

This place used to be my go-to. Went today and ughhh... quality has gone down. Ordered some chilli cheese fries and 🤮. Even customer service has taken a hit. Used to be 5 stars, now only 2

Found a hair that I know is not mine at the bottom of my food and then they weren’t even willing to give me a refund. This is disgusting. Rude management

The food is not great, but not terrible either. The chili they serve on their fries needs some improvement, if I'm being nice about it. The dining area looks nice, and the bathroom doesn't look like the battle of Ramadi took place in there, so there's that.

I went to their drive-thru and ordered a steak sandwich with avocado. Also asked for the steak to be cooked medium well, and it didn't disappoint. It comes with a soup or salad and choice of drink. The salad felt fresh and just made. I got a ranch for my dressing. The sandwich was 10/10, and I strongly recommend it.

This place was really good at one point. I was going a few times a week, but now i avoid going because my last three visits the fries were undercooked or just cold. Who has time to go back after discovering your fries are cold while you're already gone.

These are the pastrami burgers. Never ordered them before. They were awesome..

The food here is great I haven't been here in like 11 or so years a service was excellent the only thing why I put three atmosphere cuz it was weird we didn't get any ketchup we didn't get any Peppers salt and I think my daughter had to pay for some Caesar salad dressing something or other but she didn't look very happy after she came back from the counter that's why I gave it a three atmosphere but otherwise I'm at the food is great the service was excellent and that's it

Im on lunch break and decided to try this place.i ordered the chili cheese fries and a coke.i was 2nd in line and it took well over 15 minutes to receive my food.they used sandwich cheese instead of shredded cheddar and it wasn't even melted.the chili tasted weird. The coke was good. But this place just gave me the reassurance i needed. Eat at your own Risk!!!

MyLove 💖 and I went here so he could study for his test. I ordered a Double BCB Deal meal. It came with a double bacon cheese burger, large coke and I substituted the french fries with a chili cheese french fries. I came here two months ago and bought the same thing, hoping for better results but still the same. Chili cheese french fries still has no flavor but I do recommend the BCB burger with a cup of thousand island dressing on the side. Yes, that’s going to cost you a dollar for each small sides of dressing 😒 The staffs attitude not great. All depending on who rings you up, if you’re partying with card, prepare yourself to show your ID. Yes, even though you know your pin number, s/he will still card you 🤦‍♀️ There’s plenty of parking, the waiting is ok and so is the area. To those who read my post, this is from my perspective.

Food is great but service in the morning thru the drive thru is not its best . for once i would like to order n get what i ordered. Lady in drive thru wanted to argue after i seen the cook add cheese to my burrito said they didnt all to get to work n the burrito have cheese. Today i ordered one thing got ANOTHER DIFFERENT PLATE ...IM SO ANNOYED!!!!!!

Great burger joint and place you can get all kinds of foods at. Best to place your order ahead via calling. Just opened up dining room but everything is packed to go still

The food is consistently good every time. I've never had a bad experience there and the ladies are very attentive. My coffee was always getting topped off and they were very quick about getting us napkins and hot sauce

Looking for a classic greasy spoon for a relaxing dinner for breakfast. Had to eat in the car and everything in the golden star breakfast was lacking taste and no salt and pepper. Nice customer service. I can Not recommend

Went to buy an avocado burger combo and my fries were so cold and when I got home I checked my burger and it was super cold the cheese wasn’t even melted!!! Never coming back

So far I have not had a bad experience. I think that the prices are reasonable all things considered, very large portions I can never finish without hurting myself. I wish I took a picture of the chili cheese burger I ordered today. The chili is very tasty and I would highly recommend it.This place is amazing, they let you customize everything.
