The Brooklyn Tabernacle is a very well known church, for its powerful teachings from Pastor Jim Cymbala and award winning music ministry by the renowned Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, led by the Pastor’s wife, Carol Cymbala. If you’re looking for a church home or simply visiting the city of New York and want a great place to worship on Sunday mornings, you certainly have to make this a part of your list to visit! The worship to me over the past 5 years here has been so powerful, from the spoken word to the music. I enjoy the diversity of the congregation here. Every week I can sit in a new section and on all corners I’m sitting next to people of all different nationalities. It’s such a joy to have that kind of experience. Yes, this is a very large church but I never felt it was too big to where I didn’t feel at home here. I know some may be intimidated by its size or may not enjoy a large church congregation in general, but I hope you at least visit here once. This was the largest church I had ever visited in my life and after my first visit I kept coming back and have for 5 years now! Be sure to get here EARLY! People lineup outside to get inside for worship! If service is at 11am for instance, be in line around 10:15am, if you want the best seat possible! I like to sit in the lower bowl, so I’m one of the first ones in line, ALWAYS!

This place was amazing! Just like Heaven will be one day! Every nationality worshiping together! The music was gorgeous & I think the sermon about taking your thoughts captive felt as though it was written for me! I will be going back!!! Thanks to all of the musicians, song team, & pastors & thank you Lord Jesus for making this experience so meaningful!

We were blessed to come early and get seats for their Easter service. The singers are top notch and worthy of a Broadway play. To hear the background of these singers and how God has transformed their lives will make your hairs stand. The congregation sings along too, so it's a great experience. Ptr. Cymbala preaches a strong message so very liberal folks might get offended. But for Christians it is very uplifting and heart warming.

Most genuine church I have been to in a long time. These people love Jesus and they truly love the congregation. I have read the reviews on here and am extremely disappointed in the people complaining they can't leave once service starts. Every place has rules. It is most certainly distracting to see people getting up during service to leave. This is God's house. God has boundaries too! You wouldn't show up to work late or leave early but you have the nerve to complain about this rule for God's house. I have visited this church more than a dozen times this year from the other side of Long Island. I give myself enough time to make it on time, if not, then I would have gone home and watched it on youtube or their website, not go on google to give a bad review because they have rules about people walking all over during the service. If you knew anything about securing a building this size you would completely understand.

This Church is a well oiled machine. The ushers and greeters did a very good job in welcoming us and leading our family of 6 to our seats. (Ages 6 and up) We really enjoyed the worship music. I believe we sang 6 songs and one altar call song. The Pastor delivered an on time message! Don’t forget to give your Tithes and Offering. Gotta help keep the building up and running.

Visited here for the first time last Sunday.. Amazing experience!! The choir sings most of the service which is not really my preferred style.. But they're so good and the sermon was great from the Pastor.. My New Church!!!!

Best worship experience ever! The anointing is palpable and the messages are always provocative and on point! This is what the true church should be like! Will always attend when I'm visiting NYC...

Having a church home is a very specific thing. When I find it, it is instantaneous. I just know it's MY church. Brooklyn Tabernacle is my church. It is non-denominational, but they do believe in the importance of a baptism by immersion. It is large in membership and attendance, but somehow still feels close. Pastor Cymbala is the real deal - he understands The Word and teaches from The Word. There is no posturing here. This is a church trying to get to heaven by service to others, mutual support, and deep commitment to The Truth. The choir is wonderful and renowned. Even better, they have a noon service for those of us who can't do a 9am service. They also provide a live feed on YouTube, including the prayer meeting and Pastor's daily devotionals. If you're still looking for a church home, you should visit - online or in person.

Beautiful Church! Visited them for the Christmas special. The talent of this church indescribable. The show was amazing. They touched my soul. But as we know it’s not who the church. It’s about our relationship with God. May God continue to bless their ministry. Follow me for more travel adventures on IG @ Naturalhairtraveler

Dynamic and cross cultural. This is a place where Jesus is glorified and His presence felt in a tangible way. People at this church are both warm and welcoming. The message preached is straight forward and gives a feeling that it’s directed straight at your current circumstance or situation. People visit from all over the world, it is a lighthouse in Brooklyn. The elders and deacons are all tangible and care about your needs. It is a big church but also a big family. Get here! You will be stirred up and more importantly you will grow more in love of Jesus.

My dream of worshipping in the sanctuary with my favorite praise team came through! This was my only reason to fly from Florida to NY. Praise & worship was better than expected and the message touched home for me. What an amazing blessing!!!

I don't have enough room to write all of the beautiful things about this wonderful fellowship! We loved every single minute and Jim cymbala, the pastor, was so anointed in the way that one would hope to meet a pastor! Exuding the realness of humanity and yet the incredible love of God through his message through his attitude through his actions through his whole demeanor. Everyone there that we met was also incredibly warm and kind. Not in a fake way but in a very genuine and caring and real way. I thank God for the legacy of this congregation and that he has his hand upon this Fellowship mightily!

I am not a member of the community, but I was truly welcomed as if I were. Everybody is welcome, and this is not only a slogan. Great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I will come again, if I am in Brooklyn again. God bless.

Several people from my church visited Brooklyn tabernacle, February 2011. We enjoyed the fellowship and message and the music. Our purpose, for being in New York City was to visit with churches, lead by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We were not disappointed with Brooklyn Tabernacle and Time Square church.

A must-go in Brooklyn and in New York ! If you want to listen to gospel, this place is amazing. The entrance is free, and we were welcomed even if we were late and the choir was already singing. By the way, the Brooklyn Tabernacle choir is impressive. We had a great time listening to them singing. A really touching moment. Highly recommend it !

This is a wonderful, welcoming church with people from all nations. Teaching is good. God has done something special. Worship is wondrous. If this is earthly music, I can only imagine what heaven will sound like.

I absolutely love visiting here. It is beautiful. The holy spirit abounds. The service, prayer service, New year's service, and choir have all been amazing. You can't take video of the choir. I didn't know and was and was told to stop. I hate that. I have recorded messages....hope that was ok. Still love visiting Everytime I come to NYC.

The best day of my life. Life changing take on christian spirituality, amazing and kind congregation, a beautiful diverse representation of diversity in our beautiful city. The power of the sermon and singing along is amazing. Felt so spirituality connected in this safe space. They have so many activities for all ages that are lovely. I felt welcome from the moment we were greeted at the door.

Why you don't have service in Spanish? My brothers and I are desperately looking for a temple to pray, they don't speak English. We have gone to some churches but they always say that we must give the money we have so that God can do the miracle for us. And I think that’s not right 😥Please help! 😭😭😭😭 and love the Brooklyn tabernacle 😭😭😭

The church congregation is so amazing! We had the most precious greeter pray over us. She had no idea who we were, but it was as if she had a direct line to God! Unbelievable positive experience! Thank you for being so welcoming!

I know that faith in Christ is not about a church, a building nor a pastor but this church is truly incredible… I do not even know where to start. I used to attend every Sunday when living in NYC, those were some of the most beautiful time of my life. TBT has been a true blessing for me and my walk with Christ. I truly miss it and I pray that it stays a house of prayer and a church that keeps teaching the Word of God and not the feel good coaching as most churches have lost themselves doing. May God bless TBT and it’s pastors and choir❤️

It's a gorgeous church and looks like an old theater inside. We saw the Christmas service and I have never heard a choir that sounds better than the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Everyone was so friendly and most importantly, you feel the presence of the Lord here.

I always have an amazing time at BT. I remember going every year to see some of my favorite artists in concert. I recently went to one of their Christmas services which was simply amazing! It was a wonderful way for my family to celebrate Christmas together. I’m seriously thinking of becoming a member.

I had visited on my birthday to their last Christmas presentation at 3pm 12/17/2023. The presentation was great but mean people in the audience ruined the experience for me. I was seated in the middle section on the ground floor area and when I asked the African American couple if I can get pass them to the available seats, the guy looked at me mean and acted like he didn’t want to move. They didn’t even bother to stand up for me to get through they just barely moved their legs to the side. A lady and her son came through to the seats too and they did the same thing. Additionally, when I first entered the sanctuary an older lady was rushing to get in brushing up against me and didn’t even bother to say excuse me.

This place is amazing! The choir is awesome and Pastor Jim Cymbala is incredible and anointed by God. Definitely recommend of even just to see the building and architecture. Get there 1hr before service starts as it can get busy!

I am a visitor from Germany and I hear it as a Gospel Fan from the concerts on Sunday morning in the Tabernacle. Some short words: very friendly, emotiontional, free entry but you will gave something, very good music and you can sing together. I was so proud to be there and to be a part of this community and I thank God for this experience. And once again: God bless all of them. Frank and his wife
