The
practice
manager
called
me
to
acknowledge
my
concerns
and
to
hear
me
out
and
was
very
apologetic
about
the
poor
service
and
misinformation
provided
to
me
by
reception.
The
structural
problems
with
this
clinic
in
terms
of
staff
behaviour
&
training,
poor
systems
and
processes,
out-of-date
invoicing
practices
and
lousy
communications
remain...
but
the
fact
that
she
was
willing
to
make
the
effort
to
listen
to
me
warrants
an
upgrade
to
a
2-star
review.

Almost
unbelievably
unpleasant
and
inept
reception
staff.
Upon
querying
an
invoice
for
a
short
phone
consult
(that
I
was
led
to
believe
wouldn't
cost
me
anything)
the
reception
person
could
have
informed
me
that
the
invoice
for
MBS
item
#91891
would
be
covered
in
full
by
the
Medicare
rebate.
Instead,
she
just
argued
that
I
had
to
pay
it.
I
became
'that'
customer
and
asked
for
the
matter
to
be
escalated
and
was
told
to
call
back;
she
would
not
take
my
phone
number...
then
she
hung
up
on
me.
I
found
the
information
about
the
MBS
rebate
for
this
item
on
the
MBS
website.
I've
attached
pics
of
my
invoice
and
the
MBS
information.
I
explained
that
it
was
my
intention
to
add
to
the
collection
of
1-star
reviews
this
clinic
has
already
attracted.
The
receptionist
made
it
clear
she
wasn't
bothered.
I
get
that
sometimes
people
have
a
bad
day
but
this
performance
was
like
metaphorically
shooting
oneself
in
the
foot.
Why
have
a
fight
with
a
customer
when
there
is
a
solution
right
there?
Presumably,
she
didn't
want
to
help...
or,
to
be
kind,
perhaps
she
lacks
good
training.
If
the
practice
manager
wants
to
call
me
to
discuss,
I
am
sure
that
my
perception
of
this
clinic
could
only
be
improved.
This
clinic
truly
takes
the
'care'
out
of
healthcare.
It
would
appear
they're
just
there
for
the
money.
I'd
rather
drive
to
Canberra
than
give
them
my
money.
I'll
also
be
sharing
this
story
with
anyone
who'll
listen.
In
fairness,
Dr
Ric
Chan
seems
to
be
an
exceptional
GP
who
demonstrates
empathy,
a
broad
knowledge
base
and
he
didn't
rush
me
which
can
so
often
happen
in
healthcare
clinics
these
days.
I'd
posit
that
BBMC
doesn't
deserve
a
GP
of
his
calibre,
even
if
the
people
of
Batemans
Bay
do.
Let's
hope
I
can
find
such
a
good
GP
somewhere
else.
