    I have nothing positive to say about this medical centre. They DO NOT BULK BILL and they have rude signs up everywhere to remind everyone of that fact which I find offensive in any medical centre. They are a greedy practice IMO. Staff are often sick and they don't practice what they preach when it comes to wearing a face mask if you have a cough. I haven't come across a single nice or polite reception staff member. No matter who you go to see you have to make an appointment and doctors are never on time so why bother making an appointment? You will wait and wait and wait and by the time you see a doctor, they will not address the issues you go there for and tell you they will do that the next time you come in... Well, I don't want to PAY extortion rates to see someone when I get told to come back for this or that. I'm there now, I'm paying, so do what I ask while I am there! Not happy at all with this medical centre. Healthcare in Batemans Bay is a disgusting, money grubby business that practices lazy medicine and fails to employ common sense.

    You're kidding me. My partner has been waiting there for 2 hours to see a male indian doctor (even though the clinic closed 1.5 hours ago) and the appointment was for 4:30pm. Absolutely useless. I feel sorry for the poor receptionist that has to stay back because of this guy. This is why I see the doctors down at Moruya. Also, rude signs reminding that they don't bulk bill. Edit: at least the doctor to bulk billed my partner.

    I went to the doctor with an ear problem (ringing in my ears and fluid build up over a two week period) and he told me there was nothing they could do, the damage was permanent and to get used to the ringing in my ears. After I basically begged he gave me a referral to a specialist. I went to another doctor and he said I had an ear infection and prescribed antibiotics. The infection cleared up within a couple of days and the ringing stopped. The doctor said it was an easy diagnosis and should have been fixed with medication two weeks earlier. The Bateman's Bay medical centre really didn't care and my initial request for a 2nd opinion was ignored and I was told nothing was going to rectify the problem and to get used to living with it. I left the Medical Centre confused and very concerned that I had to somehow get used to life with ear problems, to only discover it was a treatable condition and there was nothing to worry about.

    Hopeless lack of staff and doctors are never on time. Practice opens at 9 doctors dont arrive until 1030. Oh an the only medical centre i know of that says they are a private practice an dont bulk bill. Better off traveling to ulladulla or somewhere else if you want some decent medical assistance.

    17/3/22 Edit: The practice manager called me to acknowledge my concerns and to hear me out and was very apologetic about the poor service and misinformation provided to me by reception. The structural problems with this clinic in terms of staff behaviour & training, poor systems and processes, out-of-date invoicing practices and lousy communications remain... but the fact that she was willing to make the effort to listen to me warrants an upgrade to a 2-star review. =============== Almost unbelievably unpleasant and inept reception staff. Upon querying an invoice for a short phone consult (that I was led to believe wouldn't cost me anything) the reception person could have informed me that the invoice for MBS item #91891 would be covered in full by the Medicare rebate. Instead, she just argued that I had to pay it. I became 'that' customer and asked for the matter to be escalated and was told to call back; she would not take my phone number... then she hung up on me. I found the information about the MBS rebate for this item on the MBS website. I've attached pics of my invoice and the MBS information. I explained that it was my intention to add to the collection of 1-star reviews this clinic has already attracted. The receptionist made it clear she wasn't bothered. I get that sometimes people have a bad day but this performance was like metaphorically shooting oneself in the foot. Why have a fight with a customer when there is a solution right there? Presumably, she didn't want to help... or, to be kind, perhaps she lacks good training. If the practice manager wants to call me to discuss, I am sure that my perception of this clinic could only be improved. This clinic truly takes the 'care' out of healthcare. It would appear they're just there for the money. I'd rather drive to Canberra than give them my money. I'll also be sharing this story with anyone who'll listen. In fairness, Dr Ric Chan seems to be an exceptional GP who demonstrates empathy, a broad knowledge base and he didn't rush me which can so often happen in healthcare clinics these days. I'd posit that BBMC doesn't deserve a GP of his calibre, even if the people of Batemans Bay do. Let's hope I can find such a good GP somewhere else.

    Going here for 7 years, have always been satisfied with services received. Edit: 2 years later my regular gp went on maternity leave. It's going on a year, staff was short with me when I asked when she'd return. I did try other gp's at the clinic but didn't like any of them. Moved to a gp at Ulladulla medical clinic.

    As it turns out, I fractured my ankle. I rang to see a doctor after I rolled my ankle. I was offered a spot almost immediately due to a cancellation. I was then seen by Dr Ric Chan who was excellent - patient, clear, decisive. He made all the referrals, called me back when the scans arrived, told me next steps etc. Reception staff were superb - friendly, helpful, understanding. Great team.

    Visiting my parents my 11 month old was very sick. Made a same-day booking, Really lovely receptionist and doctor was great. Definitely recommend.

    Don't bother going in and asking to see a doctor they don't see new patients, on holidays my husband was sick. Asked them for advice, sent us to hospital. Lady at desk was not caring or supportive in anyway. Disgraceful

    From out of town, website says walk in no appointment needed, went and was turned away and told to go to the hospital with a child with conjunctivitis.

    Dr put me on new medication said I must NOT stop taking it, refused to assess me for any other concerns until I was on this medication for 6 months. (Which my specialist disagreed with) I unfortunately got stuck 4 hours away with no medications. Dr refused to help and said to see another Doctor elsewhere. I have no proof of medication and no medical centre can see me here for over a week. My mental and physical health has now been greatly affected. Shame on this medical centre for not helping patients in times of need.
