Such an elegant speciality shopping venue with a magnificent dome ceiling. So if you ever walk in, don’t forget to gaze up at the ceiling to admire the painting inside the dome. The Arcade is accessible via public transport and close to a few car parks. A bit of history: the Exchange Arcade was constructed a hundred of years ago and inaugurated by Prince of Wales.

I only go here to avoid the rain and admire the architecture, apart from that none of the shops inside interested me.

An oasis of calm compared to the madding crowds outside , amusing to stand under clocktower end at 12 noon , look up and admire the artwork for 2 mins.

Exclusive shopping centre at the heart of the city constructed between 1927 and 1929 as part of a major civic building project which included the Council House. The shops are flanked by impressive wall art and high ceilings. The Exchange was Nottingham's first shopping centre, opened on 22nd May 1929.

Beautiful arcade, a few lovely shops but feels a bit under used.

The Exchange has a vibe of its own; such stunning architecture. I only really visit Oasis, but there are plenty of other lovely shops, including a barber, and places to eat, such as Patisserie Valerie.

This fairly compact shopping arcade, opened in 1929, is located at the back of the Council House. Well worth going inside if only to admire the opulent architecture, huge glass dome, colourful frescoes and carved wooden shopfronts. There are a few eateries and some upmarket shops selling designer clothing, shoes, kitchen units, sofas, fine arts, and good quality wines and whisky. Shame that there were so few shoppers and visitors here. The arcade is easy to get to as trams stop right outside it, and there's a car park close by.

Lovely arcade but not lots of shops in it, unless you know the shop you are looking for us in here, or you want to admire the architecture then probably not worth a visit. That said, it's right in the middle of Nottingham so if you are in and around it's easy just to pop in.

Just nipped in here whilst we was visiting the markets before a concert and it is very nice on the inside, but you can't really access the shops from the inside, you have to enter them via the main door on the street which is a bit inconvenient

Held my 80th birthday party in the Nottingham Council House. Excellent caterers in a beautiful building.

Located beneath the Council House, the Exchange was originally designed as a prestigeous retail location. It remains so today but to a lesser extent as Online shopping has reduced footfall and companies left. There are still some great shops in the Exchange. The architecture is Greco/Roman(?). Built c.1920. It is a beautiful space. Note the paintings on the uprights for the dome celebrating the local industires. See also, the glazed windows in the dome. The building was erected when the City finances were burgeoning from profits and taxes from global companies such as Boots (The Chemist), Players (cigarettes), and Raleigh (bicycles). There is a huge amount to see in the City. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Didn't visit any of the shops, but nice to walk through, to avoid the hustle and bustle off the street on a hot day.

I volunteered at the Windrush Event held at the Council House this week. Beautiful building, well attended, inspirational speakers and performers. Thank you

What an amazing place. It's 'cathedral like' in its elegance. Posh shops, quieter than the streets outside and the ceiling! WOW.

Wonderful building and facade. Love the architecture. Could do more to attract more people in to the Exchange Arcade. Make the entrance more appealing to entice customers.

😐 Went in boots, barely any staff on so had to wait, but the lady was polite and helpful, then to the poundshop where none of the staff were on the shop floor, the girl on the checkout was miserable and no help at all. Might have just been a bad day I hope.

👍 Lots of stores here to buy everything you might require in general everyday use things! If this a few minutes away from you, this is the place I recommend to get stuff, as it has a lot of different store options.

👍👍 Eastpoint Retail Park is situated 1.5 miles south east of Nottingham city centre. Currently has a large Smyths Toys, Aldi, Poundland, Costa and Salvation Army charity furniture shop. It is quiet a small retail park and there are larger nearby. Free car park. Usually plenty of spaces. Main reason to...
