Visited on the Model Railway Weekend and was an experience and a half! Not many displays but all amazing to see and experience, particularly the display connecting the bottom of Ilkeston Town to the Erewash Canal. Great collection of art from artists both close to home and further afield.

A small Museum to learn about local history and the Ilson folk who have lived here for years. They do have special events on during the year so contact the Museum or Erewash Borough Council to find out what's on. Coffee shop is now open when the museum is open. Well worth a visit

Erewash museum does it again, absolutely fabulous value for money and some great events, this year with my grandson we did,...SAND ART. PIRATES AND MERMAIDS,and ANIMAL MAGIC. Would have done much more, but for holidays.Everyone so friendly and always has time to engage with the children, the various trails got brains working, and crafting tables always a winner, shame we couldn't have the beach, but there's always next year. Well done to you all and a big shout out to the guy on the gate,he's so lovely ( and made a fantastic pirate ☠)

Absolutely love our local museum. They put on so many special events, usually free of charge in the school holiday. Staff are always so friendly and helpful!

A great museum to look up whilst visiting the area, there is a current informative room on the restoration of the Bennerley Viaduct, other rooms with galleries of artwork, others for the history of local places, and a vintage sweetshop mock set up. One room was especially dedicated to a historic woman called Hope, who aided POW's during the second world war. There is a little shop on site for postcards etc, and lots of marbles! Some of the stairways are steep, so disabled access limited in the main house fir upstairs, but there is a lift in the outer building. Friendly and helpful staff . Free entry .

Erewash Museum and Gardens was not something I expected because based on photos in Google maps they had a sun deck chair, but when I visited twice it was empty, but the good stuff is inside the museum, cafe and car park. Other than that there is nothing to do outside

Great place to take younger children in the school holidays. They have different activities and crafts each week and the garden has a large sand pit for them to enjoy. Staff are friendly and the cafe is very reasonable. All in all a great few hours out, would definitely recommend 👍

Lovely little museum with some very interesting local exhibits. We went to see the Legacy of Lace exhibition which, as a lacemaker, I greatly enjoyed.

An interesting museum for both adults and children. On the territory there is a small garden and a cafe where you can drink delicious coffee or tea with cakes for a good price. The museum also has a shop with many souvenirs and small gifts for every taste! I recommend to visit.

Nice little museum, free entry, often have crafts/trails/events on. The tea room is very reasonably priced but cash only. No parking but nearby at b and m is v cheap - £1 for 3 hours. We went for a Halloween crafts session and the people helping were v friendly and helpful.

Erewash Museum is excellent. Today they put on a model railway exhibition which was very good. The food in the cafe is good value for money and kids love it. Thank you Erewash Borough Council for supporting this fine venue.

Visited the erewash Museum the other day with a friend to look at the Sherwood Foresters collection that was on display until December of this year to which I was expecting a little bit more with the regimental Museum being closed for refurbishment. The building as a whole really nice architecture Lee as an old stately home within erewash with the old kitchens sweet shop stables and I really enjoyed the interactive boards that told you the stories of individuals that worked within the house. They are a gift shop with various teams for children and a few military books in but if you haven't been to the museum before like I hadn't I would love to see further displays of the history of are awash with in that museum as it has plenty of potential.

Visit to Erewash Museum with our 10 year old that is home educated. The exhibitions were brilliant and held him through the whole visit. A lovely cuppa in the cafe to boot. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were so welcoming. We came away with a learning resource box about refugees on loan. A fantastic location and resource for home educators.
