A delightful garden and arboretum to stroll through. The owners have encouraged partial wild plants to grow. I imagine that when the wild garlic flowers it will smell fantastic. Views of the countryside along the footpaths. Coffee kiosk is alongside the fishpond so the kids can watch them. It is a shame they haven't made more use of the greenhouse. Pay in cash via an honesty box.

This garden was such a lovely surprise; I hadn't expected the gardens to be so extensive. In addition to beautiful flowering borders there were mature trees, woodland paths, ponds, statues and more to explore. Allow at least two hours for a good wander round; you might want a break part way through so the little outside cafe /converted horse box in the courtyard serves a welcome selection of hot and cold drinks and a few cakes, but it's only open on certain days. Entry is a Β£5 charge through the honesty box, so remember to take the right change. Parking is free. Well worth a visit.

An amazing outdoor winter wonder land with lights and timed actors.. walking you around an historic garden, of a really pretty stately home! With hot food stalls, bars and a warm fire, in the courtyard.. recommended for the family! Open to book at weekends until xmas.. I think. @ Whatton house

Whatton house of horror is incredible! A recent event for the last 2 years that changes the production each year. More of an atmospheric walk through that lasts almost an hour, high quality acting and theatrical scenes that leave in awe visually! Great food options in the courtyard from local businesses and themed cocktails that look and taste amazing.

A visit for the truly epic Halloween garden walk. Love actors bring the fantastically decorated gardens to life - all in character throughout. Too many favourite parts to include! Parking is easy on the huge field, there’s good toilets and lots of stalls during the event offering food. A warm fire Kees you cozy on the queue. You’ll go around in a small group, making it all the more fun (and a bit scary!)

Surprisingly large gardens that are exceptionally well kept. Lovely to wander around and explore for an hour or two, certainly feels a world away from any nearby towns.

We visited today for a family day at the Alice in Wonderland Easter trail. We had a lovely time. Alice and the Ace of Clubs were brilliant and made both children and the adults laugh with their role playst Lewis Carroll was also very good. The rest of the characters we met on the trail were great fun. We also enjoyed the Mad Hatter's circus but feel the ace of diamonds and hearts act needs improvement. The portable toilets in the court yard were clean which was a good thing as they are normally awful. The food in the court is a little expensive but hey we were on a nice day out and went with it. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we will definitely be returning for future events

Well maintained gardens, plenty of little niche's to explore. You have to pay a contribution on entry, but it is well worth it.check opening times as the garden's aren't open everyday. They also cater for functions and weddings.

An absolutely lovely walk through the origins of Christmas with great characters and beautiful lights and scenery. Plenty of lovely food and drink stalls from mulled wine to pizza around and open fire. Aimed at the kids but excellent for the parents as well. Loved it. Give it a go!!

Interesting place. Big grounds to walk around, quiet and peaceful. However it had a kind of genteel neglect feel about the place. I don't know if it was the time of year, or to do with the heatwave, but most flowers had gone over and there didn't seem to be any effort to have something to replace them or dead head etc. The pond had a thick layer of algae over it and in general the place didn't feel like it was being managed. We still had a nice time, and I imagine it was much more colourful a month ago, so it may have just been bad timing. The Β£5 entry fee seemed about right. (Cash only)

Off the very well beaten track. A place to remember times of yore when the automobile hadn't even been dreamt of. The family are unassuming and tolerant to the nth degree of those who visit.

Stunning garden. Took the dog (on the lead) with my son, so beautiful. Bigger than I thought it would be, loads of places to explore.

Such beautiful gardens with lots of variety and interesting planting. An absolute oasis , quiet and peaceful when I visited on a Monday morning. Very reasonably priced. Excellent coffee from the kiosk. Will definitely do repeat visits during the year.

We visit Whatton house regularly throughout the Spring and the Summer time, it is an absolutely beautiful place to go to. There’s a real charm and tranquility at Whatton House. We also visit annually for their Christmas celebrations and events, each of which are brilliantly put together and presented and are excellent sources of entertainment for the whole family. They are also great value for money. Yesterday we visited the gorgeous Christmas event they have put on this year, the atmosphere was wonderful, incredibly festive and welcoming, as always. Customer service is outstanding and all the staff at Whatton House go over and above too. The lovely Amanda actually went out of her way to fetch Baileys from her own home, so I could enjoy a cheeky Baileys and hot chocolate at the Christmas event. My partner and I cannot recommend a visit to Whatton House enough. The grounds and customer service are exemplary. We will continue to return time and time again ☺️.

A lovely few hours spent exploring the spring flowering gardens. So relaxing, with amazing elevated views out over the countryside. All the staff and volunteers were very friendly. Delicious chocolate brownie with coffee at the coffee van. Great value for money. Will be back to see the summer flowering beds.
