Lovely local museum with a little cafe selling hot food and drinks. There is an art exhibition that changes periodically. If you have young children it's a lovely place to while away a couple of hours. Plenty of things to touch, smell and draw.

Beautiful little museum. Very friendly staff. Would love to see that level of passion in a bigger building which would truly do the exhibits justice.

A lovely museum with lots of information and an actual dinosaur fossil. Very friendly and helpful staff. A good spot to take children for an informative trip. The bird cage next to the museum is also lovely. TIPS: The cafeteria inside the museum is Cash Only.

The 4 children I had with me enjoyed going round. I had 6 to 13 years old with me and they all found something of interest to them. Very friendly and warm place to go. Free, toilets and cafe to. 😊 I will be going again.

Charnwood museum is a lovely little museum that describes the history of charnwood and the surrounding area. Staff are lovely and friendly and is a great day out for those with small inquisitive children. The park out the front is also beautiful on a sunny day.

Great local museum with friendly helpful staff. Lots of local exhibits and information about Loughborough. The museum is also situated in the old town swimming baths which is interesting in itself.

Second visit to this fabulous free museum as we just didn't allow enough time first time round. Lots of history about Loughborough and the surrounding areas with interactive displays for youngsters and plenty to interest adults. Fully accessible and very helpful staff. Well worth the visit. Will be back again.

Great little museum. None of the interactive buttons work but they never do in these museums. There was a finds Liaison officer on hand too.

What a brilliant little museum! So many artifacts and the activities for children are varied and interesting. A couple of bits not working, but it'a a free museum, so it is what it is. I'm ashamed to say I've never been before, but will definitely return. Really friendly staff too 😊

An absolute treat for the family, visited especially for the tiger who came to tea exhibition. Completely free to enter, the exhibit itself was beautiful. Situated inside the beautiful Queen's Park, the museum itself would only take an hour to view but the park and surrounding areas make it worth a day's visit, local library across the road, definitely an attraction for under 10's.

A well thought out little museum. Lots to see and interact with. One of my favourites was the digital microscope, being able to zoom in on many natural samples. Has a nice quiet reading area for children, along with some little comfy chairs. It's joined onto the town park cafe, serving many drinks, snacks and hot food. The museum is free to go into.

This is one of my favourite little museums, with a great mix of exhibitions bringing the very varied history of Charnwood to life. However my visit this time was especially to see The Tiger Who Came To Tea touring exhibition. Which was delightful and funpacked. A great mix of having tea with a greedy tiger, dressing up as a tiger, trying to pin a tail back on, puzzles, and reading a large selection of Judith Kerr's wonderfully engaging books. It was heartwarming to watch a few children ( and one word perfect, story acting Mum ) totally absorbed by the giant tiger. For older fans there were mounted illustrations, displays and films showing an insight on Judith's life and work. All of the staff I saw or spoke with were friendly and helpful, and as a whole the museum has a welcoming atmosphere. I didn't have time to visit the cafe but I did have a quick look in the shop, which, although small, has a good selection of items for sale. It's well worth a visit and being situated in the park, close to the shops and car park, makes it an ideal place to while an odd half hour or so away from the busy here and now without having to traipse too far.

Disappointed that a group of I'll behaved youths were being allowed to lounge around inside the museum. My children enjoyed the museum overall.

Very interesting and well presented museum covering a surprisingly wide range of topics. Worth visiting particularly if you can see the neighbouring Carillon monument.
