Visited with my sister Sandra. We were both delighted at the range and coverage of his birthplace. Fantastic day. Will be back. Don't forget the reading room in the attic, a real jewel.

Victotia Rd says it all. Modest, humble, petite house. Visit, then follow the 5 mile walk to see how the authors prosperity changed his family fortunes.

I visited the museum in 1998. That was a wonderful memory. It made the reading of Lawrence’s work more delightful, and the novels more “understandable”.

Fantastic house, takes you back to the time of Lawrence's birth, rooms set out as they would have looked when Lawrence was born. Parlour, kitchen, bedroom's etc. Staff very helpful and plenty of Lawrence's book's too choose from in the gift shop. Nice tea room across the road. Car parking a few minutes away.

A fascinating representation of the house where one of our greatest authors was born, coupled with a informative series of displays outlining the life of the miners who formed the background to his early work.

Very quiet during the week. Car park nearby and a warm welcome. My favourite rooms were the bedrooms.

Museum exhibits allow more solid understanding of what shaped DH Lawrence’s appetite for writing, living and life. If you are intrigued with Lawrence’s character, his humble beginning which formulates his aspiration together with his plight as an self-exile away from England is well presented. A must go for Lawrence lovers.

This is a great little museum which has a thoughtful selection of activities for children. Our daughter is 12 and really enjoyed it.

The Birthplace of D H Lawrence, this is a lovely museum with access to his novels, information on family and the history of the area in general. With narrow and steep stairs not accessible by all. Worth a visit.

David Herbert Lawrence Birthplace Museum is a wonderful place, talking about the writer: D.H. Lawrence. You can find more information about the person it is his birthplace. If you are interested in history then this place is for you. It opens on Thursday to Saturday. You need to book the place before you go. Recommended place to go.

We've been here a good few times as a family, with friends. I'll definitely be bringing my American friend for a visit. Absolutely lovely house and amazing tour guide, very lovely to talk to. I 100% recommend.

This the birth place/house of D.H. Lawrence. In the centre of the village there is this well preserved and well kept house, nicely restructured. It is a jump in the past.

👍 Beautiful park all year round. It just surprises me a park that big and so well attended does not offer one single toilet or baby changing facility.

👍👍 1st time visit. (Discovered on way to Ikea!!) Took the kids and dog. Car park is gravelled and clearly well maintained. There are signs at all entrance points showing the different walking routes available. Am unsure if accessible for wheelchair users due to the style of the gates at the exit points...

👍👍 Even on a sunny summer day, it has a dark and mystic presence. Rationality says that it is a geological feature, but the legends seem plausible when you're there. It is threatened by the saplings growing on it. Would the authorities please carefully cut them back to say one foot, scrape the bark...
