Really lovely place and really clean. Great place to walk the dogs or have a wonder around. Only downside not much parking near the park it's self

Impressively large and well kept public park with easy access from Derby city centre. Lots of wide open green spaces, the river Derwent running through it and surrounded by trees, including some amazing specimen trees. The walled herbaceous boarder garden is nice and peaceful with bees and butterflies happily going about their business. To the rear of the herbaceous garden is the walled hydrangea garden which is part of the national collection and is hugely impressive with each variety named. There's a cafe selling hot/cold drinks, hot/cold food and ice cream with a toilet around the corner (the cafรฉ is cash only), there's also a small children's playground too. This has become our go to place for a gentle walk or bike ride or just to escape the endless concrete of Derby city centre.

The park itself has large green open spaces, there are different routes to either walk/run/bikeride following the river from here. On the whole as everyone goes there 4 the same reason there's no litter - often pass volunteers doing their bit. On a nice day you can easily lose the day clocking up miles, vibing with the beats on.

Fab place to visit. Can walk from city centre or drive to a couple of car parks. Lots of open space, wildlife areas, river walk, cafe toilets, pub at one end, Heritage buildings and huge Hydrangea collection in a peaceful walled garden. Free to visit too!

Nice park with beautiful gardens. The gardens are walled and have seats, they're a great place to chill out. The park has a big open space which is ideal for ball games, picnics, tiring out the dog! There is a cafe but it's not great.

Great shows and well organised. Security was efficient depending on person checking bags for glass bottles, etc.

Lovely park, great walks along the river, used the cafe, nothing too exciting on the menu but reasonably priced and friendly staff, my furry girls had a doggy ice cream treat!

We were welcomed well. We sat outside by choice as we wanted to enjoy the beautiful river view. Then things went downhill. After waiting a long time, I had to go in to order the drinks. Menu seemed to offer fresh orange juice, but it was not. Asked for a food menu but was told kitchen was closing soon and had to order within 5 minutes (fair enough) so decided not to eat but the staff were not aware of our decision. So, I gave up, paid at the till and left. You decide

Lovely place to walk by the river if you need a quiet stroll. Great place for children with small play areas and lots to explore and a lovely spot to meet a friend for a coffee and cake in the nice little coffee shop. All that and the added bonus of the wonderful collection of hydrangeas.

Good walk but they closed the shed which was the best pub for a beer or coffee.

one of the best park in derbyshire especially if youโ€™re interested to see some forest like park so its one of the best to take your children & pets for a walk and enjoy this nature beauty.Must visit River Trent bridge which is quite distant with it. Personally i love this park among all Derbyshire parks and would highly recommend to anybody whoโ€™s interested in feeling the true nature.

Great riverside walk. Cafรฉ environment very nice but we did not try it as we went round the back and enjoyed very nice ice-cream albeit the coffee with it was nothing special. The bird song is testament that nature may be squeezed but it is managing to maintain a presence in the array of mature trees, shrubs and meadow areas that have been left to grow. A good park well worth a visit.

It is glorious here. Rolling hills; singing birds; swathes of velvety greenness; beautiful, strong and tall trees; colourful blooms; a great little cafe; and friendly fellow visitors. If you can, listen to the birdsong in the little video I have uploaded with this review.

On a sunny but chilly spring afternoon, the cherry blossoms, magnolias and the last of the daffodils were beautiful. Lovely spacious park with raised wooden path along the riverbank. Those with walking difficulties should use the car park in Darley Street, but those who would like a little more exercise could use the car park at the end of Darley Park Drive - off the roundabout on Duffield Road.

Great area alongside the river. Tracks for kids to cycle along avoiding the mud! Small but pleasant play-area. Room to park. Cafe shut when we visited (Monday)

Advertised as wheelchair friendly, but was far from it. So many hills that it was very hard to push someone in a wheelchair even on the pathways. We are sat on a bench there now trying to muster up the strength to push further up the hill back to to the car. Never again.

Lovely park to explore and a great place for concerts. Parking nearby can be a problem as the council likes to close off the on Street parking.

Nice park with a big area you can play around or have a picnic, really perfect place for a family relaxing outing. Also a great place if you have a pet or just want to look at pets. A very calm place. Many places to sit on. Also if you love hydrangeas would recommend looking at they're hydrangea garden they have many varieties of hydrangeas you will enjoy. Me and my partner always like to go here to unwind because of the relaxing calm place that it is and you will enjoy the vast area and quiet place that it is.
