πŸ‘πŸ‘ 1st time visit. (Discovered on way to Ikea!!) Took the kids and dog. Car park is gravelled and clearly well maintained. There are signs at all entrance points showing the different walking routes available. Am unsure if accessible for wheelchair users due to the style of the gates at the exit points... People often mention walk, ducks, park, lots, Great,

1st time visit. (Discovered on way to Ikea!!) Took the kids and dog. Car park is gravelled and clearly well maintained. There are signs at all entrance points showing the different walking routes available. Am unsure if accessible for wheelchair users due to the style of the gates at the exit points. (Kissing gates) Paths are gravelled and well kept. We did a mix of both routes to see everything in the reserve. There are lots of seats located throughout the reserve and lots of picnic benches available too. We saw lots of wild birds, herons, ducks and swans etc. Whilst there we saw little to no litter or dog waste. Bins are located throughout the routes. The reserve itself is not that big but a nice place to walk the dog and enjoy the wildlife. We found bird feeders located on the walking routes and was able to watch birds feeding. Overall, very impressed. (Annoyed that we didnt find this sooner!!) This will become a regular walk for us in the future. πŸ™ƒ

This is a lovely little reserve if you like to go for a gentle short stroll. Great for dog walking too you just need to make sure your doggie is under control at all times as there are lots of people and doggies about. The woodlandy area is all fenced off so you cannot walk there unfortunately. The whole park is fenced off so it's brilliant if you have wondering doggies. The car park is free which is an added bonus. Once you go out of the park if you take the long route have a look to your left and you'll see a footpath that leads to fields. This is brilliant if you want to extend your walk. We didn't see any livestock anywhere but please be vigilant on your trip as there might be some around at different times of the year. Luckily you can see all the fields. ☺️

Our last walk for 2018. At the heart of the English coal mining area, a nice and easy circular track for a Winter walk, with couple of good spots, especially the nearby forest and the Moorgreen reservoir.

Always lovely to come here to feed the ducks, although disappointing to see people using bread still. Please remember, bread can be detrimental to wild fowl as it fills their stomachs but has no nutritional value. Try to opt for wild bird seed or fat balls instead. The park is a fair size and in places surrounded by woodland, which gives a wonderful feeling of being surrounded by nature. There are a lot of instances of dog poop being left behind so watch where you step. A great place to come for a walk while also observing social distancing, as there is ample space.

Really pretty Nature Reserve. Good paths, plenty of rubbish bins and seats & tables to use for eating. Nice to walk around with some good views, lots of wildlife on the lakes to be seen. It ideal for using as a place for short dog walks. Has a free car park for parking.

Hey there, fellow nature lovers and local explorers! πŸŒ³β˜€οΈ I couldn't wait to share this little gem with you all – Colliers Wood Nature Reserve. It's become one of my go-to spots, and I just had to spread the word. First things first, if you're looking for a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this place is pure magic. As a photographer who cherishes memories, this nature reserve has quickly become one of my favorite locations for capturing beautiful moments. Walking through the trails with the kids or your loved one feels like stepping into a fairy tale. The tall trees create a natural canopy that dances with the sunlight, making it a perfect spot for family outings or a romantic stroll. 🌲🌞 There's something about this place that brings out the best in everyone. The kids can run freely, exploring the nooks and crannies, while couples can enjoy a peaceful moment by the tranquil ponds. πŸ¦‹πŸ’‘ One thing I absolutely love is the feeling of connection to nature here. It's as if time slows down, and you can appreciate the simple pleasures of life. Birds singing, leaves rustling, and the distant sound of water – it's pure bliss. And here's the best part – if you're considering a photoshoot, Colliers Wood Nature Reserve is a dream location. The natural backdrop is like a painter's canvas, and the memories you capture here are priceless. πŸ“ΈπŸƒ So, whether you're a mum looking for a fun day out with the little ones, a family seeking quality time together, or a couple in search of a romantic escape, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. It's not just about the experience; it's about creating lasting memories and a beautiful legacy. Go ahead, embrace the tranquility of Colliers Wood Nature Reserve. You won't be disappointed. πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

Met my friend here and we walked our dogs, it's almost a figure 8 walk, and a small pond with ducks, nice and peaceful, some benches dotted around if you fancy a little rest too.

Great little location Are use to be a mining pit and had been in use since the Roman times if not before, got a little bit of history placed around the park I would really be interested in something at the location telling more about the past mine there, could even incorporate a little shop/cafe Another interesting fact the mine use to pull 1 million tonnes of coal up per year so it was likely most in the surrounding population worked down the mines combine that with the long closed coke plants it would have been a very industry packed location Would be lovely for big picnics or a bbq πŸ˜‹ will go again, Also parking is free and located very close to the near reservoir and large wood so makes a perfect starting location for grander adventures

Beautiful and very quiet place for a walk or a jog. Family, kids and dogs friendly with a lovely pond filled with ducks and resided by a lovely heron. A few picnic tables available as well as lots of picturesque shady spaces.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Even on a sunny summer day, it has a dark and mystic presence. Rationality says that it is a geological feature, but the legends seem plausible when you're there. It is threatened by the saplings growing on it. Would the authorities please carefully cut them back to say one foot, scrape the bark...
