An oasis of calm on the outskirts of Nottingham. Lovely lake and country walks, set next to the River Trent. Plenty of bird life and wildlife including black swans , kingfisher and woodpeckers to name but a few. Also though kids play park, free car park, toilets, visitor hut, ice creams and wide open spaces, so plenty for family and nature lovers to enjoy.

What a great place for a walk. Plenty of wide paths and lots that have tarmac paths. I find if you get there before 7 am you have most of the park to yourself which is great if you're into wildlife photography. Around 9am it starts getting busy right up until dusk. Dogs are allowed even though when not on a lead they chase the ducks and do there business in the woods so some owners don't pick it up. Fishing is allowed day and night with a permit. The downside to the park is that they don't have a proper cafรฉ with toilets which I think would benefit the park. Plenty of wildlife to see and a small park for the little one's. There are benches and picnic tables dotted around the park.

A stunning place, very close to Nottingham city centre. I love swimming in the lakes, walking around the beautiful woodland, having picnics, riding my bike and walking my housemates dog. I highly recomend visiting if you get the chance. (Photographs taken by me)

Nice place for taking all your family out. 2 playgrounds, football pitches, basketball. In summer season you can rent a boat, do climbing, archery for kids. Good place to walk your dog.

Feeling that the air is very very fresh. You can feed the ducks in the pond, and you can walk through the forest route, sometimes the ducks will follow you as you go away as well! But it is just too long way from London. It's at least a hundred miles away which takes at least four and a half hours long! There is a park around. It is not big but nor small. I'm quite happy that some of the ducks can fly and catch the breads, some of them are enormous and some of them are small and cute.

A pleasant Country Park in Colwick. Nice scenery and walks with lots of wildlife with their babies. Can get quite busy in school holidays and on the weekend. Great space to play sports or to just sit and chill ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I live adjacent to the park and visit almost daily all year 'round. Excellent place to relax, enjoy a walk or maybe spend some family time. Kids playground available. Swimming and fishing too. Wardens usually about for help/info. Plenty of wildlife about to watch n feed. Refreshments are available from the kiosk near the River Road car park or Wired coffee Wednesday to Sunday near the Adventure Centre. Highly recommended. โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚

A lovely place, with loads of trails. Went late afternoon so not a lot of people around. So many ducks, geese and swans. Fantastic lake with the opportunity for open water swimming.

Lovely walk, Dog friendly and lots of beautiful sites. Been a couple of times but this time the water had a very strong foul smell which forced us to speed walk past the lake as it was so offensive. There is a park and although it is quite basic it is nice to have somewhere for my little one to play.

Absolutely beautiful park with diverse wildlife, including butterflies, dragonflies, and migratory birds. Perfect for picnicking, walking, and biking. The only thing that can make this place even better is a cafe.

Beautiful, clean and spacious park with lots of areas to have a bbq or picnic. The only reason Iโ€™m giving 4 stars is because the car park inside was closed, however, the posters and information werenโ€™t very clear as to why or if we could go in. The only people allowed in were those that had keys to boats etc.. this meant we had to park outside and as we were having a bbq we had to carry everything into the park.. that was a good 15 minute walk which wasnโ€™t ideal (with 4 kids)
