This church is certainly worth a visit. It has so much history to it. Parts of this church dates back to the 13th century and inside the church there is to be found some stone carvings from 800AD. I was particularly impressed with the tomb of Sir George Shirley and his family which dates from 1598. It is a wonderful example of this type of tomb carved from alabaster.

St Mary and St Hardulph Church Breedon on the Hill is a wonderful place steeped with so much History and filled with amazing Anglo-Saxon sculptures, a collection which can't be seen anywhere else in a Church (so I'm reliably told by a very helpful interesting Church volunteer). The Marble sculptures are well worth a look at too, I've never seen such interesting detail. The views from the Church itself are beautiful, you can see for miles, it is very peaceful tranquil sitting in the Church yard. There are also public foot paths you can take for a nice walk The parking is free, and there is a public toilet inside the Church, you can get food/drink from nearby Breedon on the Hill.

Amazing place - the British Museum doesn't have such a collection of Saxon carvings.

Beautiful view point with a few foot paths circling the hill. Some interesting information boards about the local history and a beautiful church. We spent a while walking through the grave yard and spotted a grave stone from 1704. Beautifully kept church yard. Definitely going to come back with a picnic on a sunnier day.

Absolutely loved visiting here. If you're NOT afraid of a few inclines, I would strongly recommend walking up. When at the top there's a few routes towards the back of the church that i presume will allow for a circular walk but don't hold me to that.

This church and experience was spectacular! The church warden took us around the church and even took us to see the angel carving - the oldest in Europe!!! The church has the largest and most complete collection of saxon carvings!! Definitely worth it for the day out - especially as the views from the church grounds are spectacular

Been coming up here since I was a kid as some of my family are up there, but it's also a lovely place to go, on a clear day you can see for miles, also there's a walk the Breedon/Cloud hill trail that the walk takes in the church & you get to see Breedon from different angles

Great place. I've been there for two times already. Will come back again. Even just to sit there and relax. Question - anyone knows what those guys are? They look like hungry ghosts from a buddhist wheel of life (samsara). I am very curious.

Lovely church in a wonderfully commanding position overlooking the Trent valley and East Midlands Airport.
