We asked a local about the restaurant and didn’t get a favorable review, but we thought we’d take a chance. The place was busy. There was a band in the back room, singing older music. Seemed after they were done the place cleared out. The food was good. Portions a good size, not huge but not small. The flavor was very good. The chicken Marsala was cooked good. Chicken very tender. Sauce was good. A little runnier than I’ve had before. But it was flavorful. The penne with Italian sausage and peppers was also tasty. Not a heavy sauce. It was a great choice for the evening. The garlic knots were everything people rave about. No skimping on the garlic or butter. Service was ok. Took a while for anyone to acknowledge that we were there, even though we were noticed. But, we get it. We don’t expect a lot of servers these days because we know people are short staffed and seem overworked. We’d come back for sure!

I recently moved to Bradenton and decided to try this Italian restaurant for dinner. What great food and service! I had the chicken marsala, and my partner had the eggplant rolatini with penne. Both plates were excellent. Best of all, they have a 2 for 1 entree special, so it was a great deal! Very affordable! The atmosphere was very casual and friendly. I'll definitely be back. They also have a bar, by the way.

We had a delicious home style Italian meal here in a pleasant outdoor setting. We don't often find veal but we were happily surprised to discover it on the menu. It was so tender that it cut like butter. The sever suggested a full bodied wine which paired well with our meal. All the staff are very pleasant. Thanks for a great experience Scarpino.

I have tried this place 4 times. 2 dine in and 2 take out. Good food, but serviice is lacking. 1st visit got calzones to go during pandemic. Enjoyed them enough to try dine in at the restaurant more recently. Waited quite some time while sitting in the bar area. Party of 3. Bartender came over to assist and the visit moved along. The server assigned to our table had been "cut" and didn't even acknowledge us as he walked by multiple time until almost the end of the 45 minute visit. He still had a table and could have taken us, but the bartender stepped in after seeing us looking around. Came back a week later becasue the pizza was very good the last visit. Sat in the bar area again and the same bartender recognized us and we chatted it up. Our pizza order was taking longer than expected, so I was reading reviews about the restaurant while waiting. We saw that a review stated the bartender forgot to order the meals, and I jokingly said to our friend " Hope that's not what happened tonight." No more than 10 seconds later, the same bartender with the bad reviews came to the table and said "I forgot to put in your order. Guess we're not meant to dine in even though we enjoy our cocktails and spend more money, so we decide to order pizza for take out on our next visist. Tried to use the online ordering system, but we wanted a 3 topping pizza, and we split one of the toppings because my other half hates mushrooms. That option was not available, so I decided to call in the order. Order was placed but price was different from online. When I asked why, they stated that they charge full price toppings for half pizza orders/split. Sure, whatever makes no sense, especially when I received the pizza, it was incorrect and the manager/owner who I talked to on the phone, didn't even stop to apologize or acknowledge all the items in this review that was discussed over the phone. See picture attached. Should have been pepperoni, sausage on entire pie, and half mushrooms, half ground beef. All the beef and mushrooms are on 1 side. This should have been checked before leaving the kitchen since we had already had spoken with the manager(s).... They did match the price "This time " but unfortunately you have lost my business and any recommendation I would offer for your establishment. The manager should have stopped and talked to the customer (me), and bought the pizza after all the issues discussed on the phone. Visit was around April 3rd, 2023.

Delicious! Scarpino’s may not look like much from the outside, but oh baby do you want to treat yourself. If you’re looking for amazing Italian food, this is it. Our party of 14 was greeted with a big smile, seated promptly. Our app and drink order was taken immediately. Awesome recommendations from our server, Jacob, who was great. Large portions, flavored exactly how you hope, and all 14 of us were served at the same time. Food came out hot! Everything about this dinner was fantastic. Garlic knots, fried zucchini, lasagna, fresh tuna salad, chicken parm, mushroom ravioli, eggplant parm, ziti, pizzas, and everything in between- yum!

First time here with friends and it was good. We all had good food and service. We will go back to try the pizza. We all had dinners and dessert.

Moved here from Long Island in February. First time ordering pizza since leaving NY and I get this 😂 how lazy are you you can’t even make your own knots?? And this was my $15 fried calamari which was the furthest from advertised. With so many good reviews I was expecting a lot more! Tried this place again(take out). The restaurant is filthy, the servers were filthier and the food was absolutely terrible; again!! Spelled My name out for them and still somehow got the wrong name and when I told them it wasn’t Dan the absolutely disgusting guy who checked me out managed to repeat my name wrong another 20 times in one sentence. This place needs to much to fix. Wouldn’t take my family here if it were free. Also your food is not made from scratch.

Holy deliciousnessness! 14 of us stopped after a ball game, we were hot, thirsty and hungry. I think at fist glance Scarapinos my get looked over. Don’t judge a book by its cover. We were seated promptly, our server Jacob… top notch. Drinks right away, garlic rolls to follow…he got right on our orders. He gave awesome recommendations. Food took about 25 minutes to get but we were a big party and they brought it all out at once. Everything was correct and everything was amazing. Please stop in. Tuesday night is meatball night$1 ( to die for) and Wednesday is sausage night $1. Jacob heard me reading specials and I was on the mushroom marscapone ravioli. Honestly I want to eat it everyday of my life now. Lasagna yum! Chicken park yum! Eggplant Parm yum! Fried zucchini stick yum w/ marinara. Alfredo chicken pizza, shrimp scampi. Scarapino desserts chocolate lava, tiramisu, Spumante. Jet a whole lot of yummmines and deliciousness. We will be back!!!! Service great , entertainment some night and outdoor seats.

Sam is an excellent waitress. The owner Frank Scarpino stopped by to check on our meal which was absolutely delicious!

Went in as a group of 4 on a busy night. We were seated almost immediately, which was great! Ordered appetizers, came out very quickly. Placed our dinner order, had a little bit of a wait, but well worth it! We had calamari, penne alla vodka, and chicken parmigiana. Absolutely amazing!

I never leave bad reviews, but I am so disappointed. Tonight we ordered take out from here for the first time and it was some of the worst food I’ve ever had. The Caesar salad came without any dressing or croutons, as well as lots of romaine lettuce that looked to be going bad. The Italian wedding soup had no flavor with a watered down broth. The pasta was mediocre. Try Bella Mia instead.

Good food, garlic knots are a favorite. The shrimp pasta was not on point this time. The pizza was good.

I gave 5 stars because the food was excellent!! I arrived 30 min before closing and service was very delayed. I will go back because the food was wonderful!! I ordered spaghetti carbonara. They have fettuccini carbonara on the menu. I had them substitute spaghetti for the fettuccine. Also ordered garlic bread knots they were awesome. Definitely highly recommend and worth the drive!! Very authentic food!!

Literally worst Italian food I've ever ate in my life. Anyone that says this place is good Italian prob thinks taco bell has the best Mexican food in town. 25 dollars for a plate of spaghetti and two meatballs. Bartender was good service but lippy when I asked why the spaghetti doesn't come with meatballs...we had to add them at 3 dollars a piece. Marinara tastes like ketchup with salt and pepper added Garlic knots were incredible though.

Great food! Love the marinara sauce! Salad could have been freshly prepared and would have been better. Pizza is excellent. Pasta so good!

I’m from Queens New York and their pizza is the closest in baking and taste to New York style pizza…. I have tried many of the dishes and all of them have been good. Go early or make a reservation because they are crowded.
