A really fantastic and stunning place to visit. There's something for absolutely everyone and you really don't have to be into horticulture to enjoy it. Trying to see absolutely everything in any degree of detail in one visit might be a bit too much, it would take several hours to get round. Treating it as a nice place to go for a walk might be a little bit more realistic. That said, it's quite hard to get information on what you're seeing and to seek out interesting facts. Digital or interactive screens spread around could really help with this. Or perhaps just the option for patrons to scan QR codes. There are occasional plaques with in-depth details, but it's just not quick, easy or fun to consume. Presentations, videos or even an option for augmented reality could really make this something super engaging. Lastly, and up to £20 for an adult, it really is incredibly expensive for a day visit. I completely appreciate the huge amount of upkeep maintenance required and also the peak season will, I'm sure, attract plenty of people willing and able to pay this rate or even higher. However, outside of this period It just doesn't seem that busy and I'm sure I'm more attractive. Price could be offset by an uptick in volume. It would be great if people could come, not just to see Kew gardens but to meet and enjoy social occasions in the stunning grounds.

It's a very beautiful place and fantastic for families and friends. Because of the sheer size of this place, it's not crowded. Facilities are fantastic, and there are a number of cafes around. I definitely recommend Kew Gardens for a fun day out. If I lived closer to it, I would have bought a yearly pass. I would definitely recommend Kew Gardens to everyone, at least for one visit.

I'd booked tickets for Kew expecting to be done in a few hours. We parked in the main car park near the river (signage was pretty poor or at least I didn't see any!) and there were plenty of spaces. The gardens were far larger than I'd expected and we could have easily spent a full day there. Each of the glasshouses is an hour or so to properly appreciate and then the other displays and gardens plus walking between them takes a lot of time. The gardens were beautifully maintained and well signposted once inside. There were a few eating options to break up the visit. There were also lots of information boards about the different areas of the garden and the history of the gardens themselves. The glasshouses were works of art in their own right but the addition of the plant displays made them hugely impressive. My personal favourites were the cactus displays and the Japanese garden. The Grand Pagoda (a separate ticket) was also a fantastic experience. Definitely somewhere to return too and great value.

Need a whole day to take everything in! This garden is huge! Be prepared to do lots of walking. With so much to see, one needs a whole day to see everything this place has to offer. We used London Pass for admission, if we bought tickets there, it would be around £50 for two adults and one child. Not that expensive compared to other attractions, and I think you get more out of it. We took the the Underground and got off at Kew Gardens station. My son particularly liked the children’s play area which had a climbing structure (we spent an hour there). There is a cafe close by the playground and we got baked goods to tide him over. The Hive is also something I recommend experiencing, it’s an art piece that mimics a beehive. You have to see it for yourself. Just walking around and admiring the size and beauty of the plants and trees is already a great experience in itself. All in all we spent around 3 hours, which is definitely not enough, and would totally come back again.

What can one say. One of the best gardens (and Botanical Institution) in the World. This visit we went at night, to see the Christmas laser Light Show. I'm an easy guy to impress, but this show was absolutely amazing. You walk a lot thou. To do the round trip of the show we did walk 4 miles in 3 hours. But, with so much to see, Christmas kiosks selling drinks, food and everyone was having a good time. It will end in 2 weeks, perhaps should stay longer. Worth coming over to experience it. But a gift on your way out and have a jolly time. Do choose a dry evening, if possible. Recommended

A must to visit. If you have a Disability and a Freedom Pass, both yourself and an assistant can access for as little as £1. The garden is a must to go to if you're a gardening type of person. I actually brought some of my family up here because of it and they loved it.

Amazing day out in early January! We got extremely lucky with the gorgeous weather... however the indoor greenhouses are great for all weather days. Such a nice place to visit and the tickets are very reasonable... especially if your lovely partner is an NHS worker! Check website for full ticket information and discount and offers for the community.

One of the most impressive and beautiful gardens I have ever been to. The grounds themselves are beautiful, even in the winter. The highlights of the gardens are the three different greenhouses, all having different types of plants. My favorite was the princess of wales greenhouse because of the different biomes (tropical and arid) represented within one place. The treetop walkway may be more impressive, but it was largely closed because of the winter lights so you can go up but not walk around. The hive was an… interesting piece of art but still worth going over to see if you’re going to the greenhouses. The lake was full of birds so I recommend making your way there too. We saw a fox on our way to the lake and he came right up onto the path which was so cool to see. Tickets were discounted to students (people under 30). Overall a fantastic garden full of impressive plants and wildlife.

Amazing Christmas light display at Kew Gardens. Lots of automated displays and music along the circular route. My first visit but definitely won't be my last. A good 2 hours to walk round the display and enjoy everything so much to see. Food and drink stops along the way that were reasonably priced. Also a shop that sold assorted gifts.

My girlfriend became a member and she has visited the gardens many a time and told me to come check out the Mexican day of the dead display. I thought I do love an event with skulls and I wasn't disappointed at all. It was a great display and they had plenty of skulls. I saw some skull candles and they sadly weren't for sale, they need to get some for sale. The gardens of course are amazing the range of floral and fauna is spread over a large area and you need to wear comfortable shoes and clothing as the green houses are very hot and they are so beautifully maintained. You can spend many hours in here watching all the flowers and plants which are so beautifully done. I loved it here and it's worth going if you love a wonderful garden. I highly recommend here and I will attach my photos for you to enjoy. Please press like if you found my review helpful. Cheers

Need time to reflect? This is the best place for you! The place is so calming. Love the freshness of the air, the sound of the birds, and nature in general. There are also lots of benches where you can rest. There is also a restaurant and coffee shop at the center of the gardens.

Amazing place, lots to view and get a good few steps in. Walked 13,000 steps and we only visited 70% 1. Good variety of places to eat. 2. Scenic and natural environment. 3. Great for taking a leisurely stroll and getting some steps in. 4. The Lilly pads were amazing. 5. The treetop walk is a unique experience. 6. The view from the lake on the bridge is stunning. 7. Offers something for everyone. **Cons:** 1. Shops inside can be a bit on the pricey side.

Visited the Temperate House and the Palm House plus the Orchid Exhibition. The Orchids did not produce the WOW, I had expected but there were some very good examples. We enjoyed a Tea for Two in the Botanical Restaurant. Fresh sandwich fingers, cream scones and an assortment of mini cakes. Very attentive service. The assistance of Sue at the Entrance Ticket booth, was much appreciated as I was worried as I had not been able to print out my vouchers. Thank you Sue!

It's a massive area, and will take all day to see everything properly. There are a great number of greenhouses and gardens. The treetop walk is great fun, and there is a lot to see. If you go, be prepared to walk a longish distance.

Kew Gardens is amazing without the Christmas lights, but tonight’s experience was magical. The whole design of the Christmas lights was so well done. With or without kids it’s a wonderful evening full of magic and wonder. The brassiere was open for dinner over looking the palm house light display, so you could have dinner with a view. Highly recommend this wonderful evening out.

A lovely day out. Can get very busy by midday, so expect queues, and no body wears a mask inside. Amazing displays of indoor plants. Was great spotting some common ones mixed in with the exotics. Really enjoyed the walks and the bee hive. Wish I could have spent longer. Great gift shop, lots to buy, including sustainable products, presents and plants. 100% recommended going. Staff are lovely

The garden is maintained so well. We made a visit on weekday during summer. There were not many people so we saw and enjoyed each spot with very less crowd. We also had some good photos for instagram with no one being on background. Keep in mind to make a visit as early as possible as all of the best galleries would close at 5pm in the even so it's always better to visit early and then rest around garden and cafes I especially loved the shop where they had scented soaps. They were so cool.. I loved it. My overall experience was 10/10

I took advantage of a random nice day in October to visit the Gardens. Even in early fall, they were lovely. My favorite place was The Princess of Wales Conservatory mostly because I like tropical plants. The grounds were really well kept and the bio-diversity on display was amazing. I do wish they had a few more signs but, overall, didn't have much problems getting around. I did come on a Monday and there were very few people around, which was great. I had an easy way to get here by taking the Tube District Line from my hotel. Then a quick walk through a lovely neighborhood in the village of Kew took me to the Victoria Gate Entrance. No wait times to get in, walked right up and got a ticket. Unfortunately, they had just switched to winter hours so all the green houses closed at 3pm with the Gardens themselves closing at 4pm, plus several areas were closed for the season - like the Great Pagoda and Queen Charlotte's Cottage. Additionally, they were in the process of transitioning several exhibits so a few of the areas - like the Temperate House, the Treetop Walkway were also closed. Which wasn't the problem - I understand maintenance has to happen. But I wish the attendant who sold me the ticket would have let me know of the closures so I can plan my time more efficiently while there. But overall I did enjoy a nice day there.

Is hard to describe in writing the experience we had visiting this place. For the first time we have visited the Kew Gardens Christmas Lights Show. We've been amazed to discover glittering tunnels of light, dancing lakeside reflections and trees drenched in jewel-like colour. This is something that you have not just not seen it. Great experience, great work. The food area has most of the best Lindon Street Food Traders, burgers, hotdogs, has browns, loaded chips and many more are offering a delicious and fast service experience.

Whatever the season Kew Gardens never disappoints, this visit was to see the Orchid festival which was truly beautiful, held in the Princess of Wales Conservatory ( on until 3rd March). But the whole site is full of beautiful plants, flowers and trees. I cannot recommend a visit enough.

Beautiful, large gardens. Victoria Gate is a short 5 minute walk from the station. I have visited several times over a number of years. Christmas at kew was wonderful and the annual orchid festival is definitely worth a visit. Expect to spend a few hours here.

Visiting Kew Gardens again was absolutely wonderful! I had seen it in a heatwave 3 years ago and it was parched - this time far greener! The park is huge - wear comfortable shoes if you want to walk lots, which is recommended. Beautiful rose gardens surrounded the Palm House, the jungliest of the two. This is where it gets hot and steamy, with huge palm, bamboo and fern fronds arching overhead and reaching to the very high roof. Beautiful specimens on show, including possibly the oldest pot plant ever! The temperate glass house is also lovely and not quite as warm, with species coming mostly from Asia and Australia/New Zealand. The lily pad house was also amazing and had beautiful flowers including lotus. The park itself had numerous tree species, and walks all the way to the Thames embankment and back. The Treetop Walkway was stunning, with views amongst the tops of sweet chestnut, across to the temperate house and beyond. It is very high and quite wobbly - loads of fun! (But not so much if you suffer from vertigo!) Lots of cafe's dotted around for pit stops along the way, and a great gift and plant shop at the main exit.

Even in autumn, the gardens were stunning and so peaceful. With 330 acres you could spend an entire day here easily. Due to covid, some facilities such as the lockers and smaller spaces were closed. The restaurants and cafes were all lovely though, if a bit overpriced. A picnic would be perfect in spring or summer.

What a lovely place to spend the day. West London oasis, don't be put off by the price it's worth every penny. In the day it's epic, by night it's awe inspiring. If you are yet to visit, put it on the list. Way more fun than Lion King. Christmas lights 2022 were a dream come true.

Beautiful and tranquil spot on the outskirts of the city, wide open spaces with spectacular views. Bit pricey to get in but worth it if you are in to botany, a botanist or horticulturist. Beautiful specimens from Africa to be seen in the greenhouses or even just a nice place for a walk.

Kew Gardens are definitely up to expectations. Today was my first time visiting the Royal Botanic. I walked miles but at a slow pace, giving me time to take photos and admire the vegetation. Being still winter time, most of the outdoor plants and bushes were still thinking about coming out displaying beautiful flowers and leaves. It could have been boring but it hasn't, that busy I was observing the sleeping nature, now and then, highlighted with winter flowers. There is also plenty to visit indoor, such as the Princess of Wales botanical, recently displaying a galore of orchids, vibrants with colours and enchanting smells. You can go up many stairs to reach out the tree top promenade, where you'll be in a dominant place to enjoy the surroundings and even the London skyline in the distance. Should you plan to see everything I would advise to go in as soon as you can in the morning. The place is huge and there is plenty to see or chill on a bench in the sun. The only downfall is the price for drinks and snacks. The best part of £3 paid for a small cup of coffee, when a basic sandwich cost £6... Anyway, this being said, I would strongly recommend the visit of Kew Gardens, and bring your kids with you, they should have a good time too. Two more things and I'm done: the sign posting is very accurate and make the visit easy and enjoyable while you'll find regularly open and clean toilets for convenience. I wish some owners of petrol station would understand that it is a basic service for drivers and travellers...

Beautiful Botanical Garden in Kew. This is such a huge garden with so many varieties of trees, plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables from all around the world. Amazing experience. Must visit and is walking distance from Kew station. There are some places in the garden where u get the feeling of being in a tropical country with even the temperatures being humid. Superb

HUGE!! SO much to see. Perfect activity for those who love plants, flowers and anything botanical. Bought tickets online - slightly cheaper. Beautiful landscapes. Couldn't see the entire place. Easy to get lost but if you follow the signs and/or map (pick one up at the entrance) you should be fine. Visited the stunning glasshouse. It was massive and also had a really pretty treetop walkway. Visited during mid February so wasn't crazy busy but can imagine it gets much more lively during the spring and summer months.

If you are on certain benefits you can get in for £1 which is a fantastic scheme. You can also get young adult tickets at a reduced price. I think the full price adult tickets seem a little pricey. I will definitely return at the reduced cost but I wouldn't at full price. The gardens are obviously well looked after. The temporary orchid display was nice. There were some interesting plants I'd never seen before. Plenty of helpful maps online to help you around - including disabled access. Orangery food was expensive but the food in the Family Kitchen was reasonable. Overall a really nice day and I imagine later in the year it will be nicer to visit than in February.

What a treat ! Going during winter (with a correct weather) was a blessing. Very few people, it was a very contemplative moment. You let yourself get captivated by all the plants varieties and the beautiful architecture of the greenhouses. Plan at least three hours to visit ! And why not bring a sketchbook to capture your favorite specimens.

Magnificent botanical gardens for viewing an incredible collection of trees, flowers, buildings, sculptures and special exhibits. The coffee shops and gift shops are exceptional with many opportunities to purchase quality gifts. The Marianne North pavilion is a must visit however no photos are allowed inside yet, you can buy postcards! In the spring and summer - a most beautiful place for strolling. Enjoy!

Shame on Kew - I will never go back. Endorsing a shampoo range made by a company (P & G) which uses majority uncertified palm oil (although lets face it any palm oil is bad..), and which contains Almond Oil (a wholly unsustainable crop) and SLS a skin bleaching agent and know irritant. Shame, shame, shame on you to sell yourselves out in this manner.

STUNNING experience! This place was phenomenal, there were huge varieties of unique and beautiful flowers. Perfect day trip on a sunny day. Kew Gardens are simply stunning and well worth a visit. We went for the afternoon but I recommend going for the day. There’s a lot to see and various cafes to grab something to eat and drink. The greenhouses are amazing. I would recommend considering getting a membership and coming here to read and relax away from all the noise and traffic of London.

Paid £45 for 2 adults 1 student discounted from having a palace annual pass - was initially disappointed as the Palace was closed and so too was the pagoda. Palace to be fair is extra charge but pagoda being closed not too happy. Grounds are well maintained, some great displays especially the cactus section. It's worth a visit here as you do see some great examples of plants and trees from around the globe

Very good lighting display, well worth the visit. There are several shops and stalls dotted about the 'lighting trail' enabling you to top up with refreshments and mulled wine (very tasty) it took us 2 hrs to walk round, that's of course with stops for photographs etc . I saw no seating area on my walk round. If your taking small children , keep them on a lead on in a pushchair as it's quite crowded and dark and you can become easily separated.

Was one of my dream. And I am so happy I took time to visit it. Visited beginning of April and I am quite sure that in Summer it would be even better - will re-visit for sure. The state of the domes is not great and I was probably expecting a higher number of flowers , plants and colours. But it deserves 5 stars and will be better in few months

I really loved it. A well maintained garden that displayed a lot of different flowers. Especially the water lilies at the water lillies house were stunning. So beautiful and clean. The hive is a nice architectural piece at the garden. As well as the bonsai house. Sadly, I didn’t find out online that the treetop walkway was under renovation until I reached the place. Would be nice to mention this both on the website and upon entry. Transportation wise it’s quite some distance from London. Luckily , easily reachable with both Overground and District line. Once arrived at the tube station it’s a short 10 min walk to the entrance. Nice cafes along the way and a supermarket.

One of the greatest gardens in the world. The glasshouses are spectacular and the grounds well thought out and well tended. We were visiting in autumn and the colours were fantastic! Every direction you look there is another great view. Parking was easy and plentiful, however this was a weekday morning in early October and I know from past experience that it gets very busy during the holiday period in the summer.

We visited the Orchid Festival at Kew with our 3-year-old and newborn. It wasn't too busy or crowded so we had plenty of time to look and take photographs. Our 3-year-old really enjoyed trying to spot all the "animals", including the floral chameleons. She also loved the pitcher plants and Venus fly traps in the adjacent conservatory section. This is a really impressive and striking exhibition. It reminded me of the chocolate factory in the Gene Wilder Willy Wonka film! A real feast for the eyes, and magical to behold. Enjoyable for all the family.

Kew royal botanical gardens are beautiful very large very well kept gardens. It is best to book a time slot. Ticket online prices are 22£ in 2024. Children under 15 are £5,5. There is a very large glasshouse and Japanese garden by the pagoda. And much more. Opening hours are according to season. Jan 10:00-16:00 / Feb 10:00-17:00 / March 10:00-18:00 for 2024. Only negative part the garden is less than 10 miles away from Heathrow so you do hear frequent plane noises.

Went there in Oct '23. Weather was not cold yet and sun was out. The greenhouses were interesting. Nice walkabout with good eating places at all corners of the garden. Would love to see it during spring time when the flowers are out. The visitor shop does have some interesting stuff.

They recommend spending the entire day here, which I think is a bit much really unless you're a botanist. Once you've been into one of the pavilions, really you've been into all of them unless there's something specific you want to see. Certainly peaceful and nice to explore. Some nice views like the pagoda and the palace (which is a lot smaller than it looks). But you're certainly not missing much if you don't go honestly.

Breathtaking orchid blooming presented at the princess of wales conservation at Kew Gardens. The blooming only lasts for a month, between early February and early March, so try not to miss it! The entrance to the conservatory is free, but the booking for entrance is required as there are a lot of people who fancy watching it. You can get tickets either at an entrance to Kew Gardens, or by visiting their official web page. If you are planning a visit on specific date and there are no tickets to book in advance, don’t worry. The day before and on the day a number of tickets are released. You can buy those , but do hurry as these sell up fast

The Botanic Gardens at Kew is a wonderful venue full of conservatories of exotic plants and large parkland. It is not usually open in the evenings, but the Orchids After Hours show was beautiful and so worth seeing. A visit to Kew is à great day out.

West of central London are the spectacular 300-acre Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. Beautifully landscaped parkland joins expertly planted gardens, palm houses and more than 50,000 species of native and exotic plants, trees and flowers. Don’t miss a chance to walk in the treetops on the spectacular canopy walkway that affords great views across this World Heritage Site.

Kew is just a wonderful place to visit, no matter what time of year. We bought a membership that gives us free entry with up to two guests per visit, which has worked out as extremely good value. The houses are always an interesting visit, but lots of gorgeous woodland to go for long walks and get lost in too. The shop has great products and there’s good food services within the grounds. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I've been to many parks in England, but I've never seen a well maintained place like this one. In addition, each area has its own theme, so you can feel the concerns of park planners. And as a bonus, I was able to meet a huge number of plants. And the park is so spacious that it's great for walking and picnicking. This time I spent a fair amount of time and left, but next time I plan to go with a mat, snacks, and books. Lastly, some botanical gardens are currently closed due to coronavirus. Please note. If you are visiting London for sightseeing, I definitely want you to visit it. Great experience. The children's garden was an fun experience for 3 yr. old. The tram around the site gave a great overview of what was available. Take a picnic.

Just stunning! Well worth a visit. My whole family went for a day out and didn’t manage to see everything. The Hive is astonishing and the hot houses are fascinating. Really enjoyed our visit although I was surprised at how busy the shop area was. With nobody managing the flow of people it was very difficult to socially distance indoors.

extremely calm and green area, tickets don't cost much. much educational content as well, very diverse flora. you can really feel the different micro climates in the different areas (redwood for example, where the air is significantly cooler than elsewhere). it also had greenhouses with different exotic plants as trees, as well as a rock garden (that wasn't my favourite, but still interesting). so, if you're in London, give it a try.

  • 5/5 John 2 years ago on Google
Kew Gardens is an absolute delight. It’s a perfect Sunday afternoon activity and you get the chance to look at thousands of different plants. You can also visit the amazing greenhouses or visit the lovely lake or large structures. They also have an amazing treetop viewing structure and lovely shops. Most recently they’ve had a “colour” exhibition which is nice. I’d recommend this to anyone who like plants or is into conservation.

You need to have gone to Kew Gardens yesterday. SUCH an underrated tourist attraction and all round enriching experience. Staff are very helpful and polite but the grounds are stunning. It's so healing just being around all that flora and such a brilliant way to spend the day, or even a few hours, just get there before 6pm so you can see the main greenhouses! Also closes earlier on Sunday than specified, 7pm I believe so beware! Particularly recommend the Exotic/Tropical plant greenhouse. There's a mini-exhibit on talking plants that was simply ethereal. Makes you really appreciate the diversity, strength and beauty of the plant world!

Lovely lovely.... It's always a treat to go to Kew Gardens Apart from the Pavilions cafe.. Stay away, take a picnic... £73.00 for 4 beefburgers, 4 Pepsi & 1 cauliflower cheese.. 😁 eeeuuwh... is far too much to pay!!!! They didn't have much else to choose from... What's going on in the English Gardens.... We're in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 folks, not the USA!!! 😳 That was baffling 🤨🤔 Oh & £9.40 for 4 teas is a bit of a rip off... It's only 4 teabags!! .... The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew is easily my favourite place in London. You can spend an entire day wandering through the massive arboretum, exploring the glass houses and learning all about how freaking awesome plants are! Many of the trails are wheelchair accessible as well as the primary temperate greenhouse and palm house (If you're not afraid to get brushed by some palm fronds!) The weekends are usually the busiest time but even then, the grounds are so big you're never far away from blissful plant solitude 🌿

Lots of attractions were closed due to Japanese Festival but the place is stunning and beautiful. There’s a temporary exhibition that I was so looking forward to see as I thought there were some bioluminescence plants but there’s none which is highly disappointing as they show it everywhere when promoting the exhibition. Nothing but some paintings about plants with “lots of colour”.

  • 5/5 Chris S. 2 years ago on Google
One of my favourite places in London and it didn't disappoint on this visit. Somewhat pricey on the entrance and the shops are the same but that's to be expected and is probably no great surprise. All the exhibits were up to the purpose and in my opinion looking better than ever! Not been there for over 15 years and with the weather being fine all of the houses and parkland were accessible. It wasn't crowded even in the more popular parts like the palm house and Princess of Wales glasshouses. Both of these were outstanding and worth the entry in themselves. We spent around 4 hours without losing interest - still only saw about 20% of what's on offer. Through our own fault didn't get to see the Japan exhibition but in the end that really didn't matter. The only issue is transport to and from, but that's an everyday occurrence in London.

Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew….. Such a wonderful and beautiful place to visit, suitable for all ages, families. Can’t comment on cost as we entered as a guest of a member. Bundles to see and do, worth planning in advance. Palm House and temperate house are great, pond adjacent is really great. Nearly always an exhibition on. Marion north gallery, the Chinese pagoda, skywalk way. Climbers and creepers for children. The beehive experience 👍 Orangery cafe, main entrance with shops. Toilets available everywhere. Too much to mention but all fantastic.

My first visit to Kew. I thoroughly enjoyed walking the grounds, and wished I had more time to explore the galleries. Definitely a place worth coming to different times - we were there for 7 hours and still found that there was lots we hadn’t seen yet. From what we saw there aren’t thickly wooded areas as Kew is a research / showcase ground, but nonetheless it’s worth visiting.

Kew is absolutely stunning. I have no idea why my demographic (18-25) doesn't talk about the gardens more. It's the perfect place for art studies of nature, perfect for dates, perfect for a day out with friends but also ideal for families with both kids and elderly. You have quite a lot of opportunities to sit down as well and enough places to eat at (the grill, the shop etc...) I will say though that Kew is best enjoyed if you expect to spend the whole day there and not book more things to do. It takes quite a bit to get from one side to the other since there's so many things you can admire. Staff is also incredibly nice and helpful.

We've been Kew Members since 1990, but we've never been to "Christmas at Kew", where you get entry to the gardens in the evening and the whole place is lit up with what I can only describe as a veritable cornucopia of mesmerising lighting effects. It was astounding. We'd also opted for dinner at the restaurant and they had the best vegan celeriac/mushroom Wellington I've had this Christmas (and I've had five!). This experience made my Christmas.

The botanical garden is amazing, no doubt about that, but I would like to review the kids playground there. The children's garden is probably one of the best playgrounds in England. There are lots of things to do for kids of any age. The playground is free with an entrance ticket, but you need to prebook it on the website and select the time slot. The playground is huge, with four thematic areas, surrounded by large eucalyptus trees. There are slides, a large sand pit, a trail hidden in bamboos, small trampolines, several climbing frames made of wooden logs connected with suspension bridges. The large water play area was closed in January, but it looked promising. There is a family friendly cafe next door. The closest entrance is the Elizabeth's Gate. Before coming to the playground, I would recommend taking your kids to the tree top trail, which is 18 meters above the ground with stairs leading up. The wild parrots made nests in the trees around the trail, so you could count green parrots while walking among the tree tops.

Visited the Christmas at Kew event and it was amazing! We couldn't believe how fantastic the displays were. We spent more than the recommended time there, but could have spent longer. Eager to come again next year and at an earlier time slot to have more time. Definitely worth the money, paid similar for a light event at a more local venue, and this just put it to shame! Would also definitely hope to come again to see the gardens as usual in the day.

Had the most wonderful experience at Christmas at Kew. The light installations were visually stunning and the musical accompaniments perfect!! I think I would prefer to attend before Christmas next time. I can imagine it being a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit. Looking forward to attending the upcoming orchid festival which will be an opportunity to experience Kew in daylight!

INCREDIBLE place for plant enthusiasts. I absolutely loved these gardens. Not only are the conservatories stunning and delicate but the glass panels are also a beautiful contrast to the lush colours of the plants. The outside gardens are a bit bare in winter, but the glass houses are really warm and a nice escape from the chill. There are so many beautiful rock gardens, ponds and huge trees. We saw loads of wildlife including deer, green woodpeckers, a fox pup and tons of birds. You could easily spend a whole day there, and I wish I had had more time :) It's a wonderful place to go for a date, or as a family trip and is pretty close to tube stations (and Richmond Park if you want to go all out in nature! The only down sides are the fact the conservatories close at 3pm, so if you book a slot for 2pm you can't see everything, the Princess of Wales house, filled with cacti and orchids, is shut for the winter which made me sad (as an avid cacti lover). We also got locked in because we were late leaving, so had to hop a fence, although a camp in the gardens would be lush. The prices are also really expensive, I got in on UC discount (loads of other discount options as well) which was great, and I wouldn't have paid the extortionate prices they offer otherwise. All in all a must see if you are in London, and even worth a day trip to London if you live else where.

Beautifully kept gardens great place to visit. With membership you can come here as many times as you like. Check out the Galleries too. The Marianne North Gallery and the Shirley Sherwood Galleries were stunning. Bring a picnic or visit the cafes upto you. But lots things to see and do whether you're a couple out for a walk or a family looking to keep the children entertained it's all here. Peaceful and quiet in places and a fun tree line walk to name but a few. If you go I through the Lion gate it leads directly to the Pagoda which has recently been beautifully restored.

It's expensive, and the 'attractions', like the Temperate House or the Treetop Walkway, close at 15h, even if the sun is still shining. As my wife made the anual subscription, I will return, but after a quite big walk I don't think it's worth it. There are other amazing parks for free. I hope to change my mind in my next visits.

OH MY WORD! A great day out!!!!!!! I have to start with the station. Very pretty!! Surrounded by a few smaller shops. A short walk finds you to the entrance to the gardens. I say a short walk, but it's probably longer than I remember, but looking at the well presented houses leading to it, you do forget. No rush anyway, the day is yours. I found it easy to get in, no huge queues. I didn't know what to expect, as I just picked a place to visit that day by chance. I did think it was a tad high price too go into a small garden center......but..... it was HUGE! Well worth the money!!! There is a shop just as you go in, to grab a drink of you haven't got one from one of the smaller shops by the station. But no fret as there are a few cafes as you go around anyway. No problem with toilets as there are so many trees, nah seriously though, they are a small walk away, and clean. We went to see the blossoms, and we're not disappointed. But, we will have to come back at different times of the year to appreciate other parts of the garden as different flowers bloom different times. If you come on a full sunny day, don't forget sun lotion. The walk is huge and in places very open. Likewise on a rainy day, I guess you'll get soaked. But saying that, I think I saw a buggy train which brings you around if needs be. Anyway, in the cafe I choose the mint nettle cheese quiche, which was very nice😘👌 Sitting down in the sun, I saw many people bring a picnic with them, brilliant for kids, very very safe place, but need to keep an eye around the ponds. Also it has an play area for kids, which looked like it was bordered by hedging, to keep them in one area. I didn't see any pets, so I guess they aren't allowed?!? You'll have to phone to confirm this... You do need a full day to appreciate Kew Gardens. Very well maintained, which in my personal experience, it's the prettiest place I've visited in a long time.

A fantastic day out in London, especially on a budget. Greenery, trees, flowers, birds and art exhibitions. A perfect day to get in touch with nature and learn some interesting facts. Student admission available. And an option to cash in your adult day ticket for a discount on your membership should you wish to return. Option to bring in your own food or to dine at one of the restaurants in Kew Gardens. Close proximity to the tube station so the location is very accessible.

This is a must-visit on your trip to London. The place is huge, there are many great locations for picnic or just laying on the grass. You can easily spend the whole day here and still there will be new things to see. I would definitely come back.

Great experience. I think it's worth the price. The garden is huge, you can't see it all properly in one day. The food is a bit overpriced but you can bring your own. The greenhouses are clean, the plants are very well kept. I can see that the people working there know a lot about gardening and plants. In general, I had a great day.

A wonderful day out - but be prepared to do some walking - there is a little train that takes you around if you're happy to buy a ticket! Drinks were very expensive (didn't try the food). We walked for 5 hours and saw many wonderful things but still didn't see everything. Highly recommend.

A lovely way to spend a day strolling around the gardens and hothouses. The cactus collection was very special, as was The Hive. Lunch in the Orangery was good. The Tulip Garden was very special, and The Alliums will be amazing in a week or so.

Wonderful and peaceful place. Really enjoyed every minute at KEW garden. Plenty of water fountains, benches and clean toilets. Amazing plants and tree's. Polite and helpful staff.

Truly a beautiful place to visit with kids and family. Beautiful flowers and ducklings everywhere. Make sure you buy the tickets online and get here early as it gets very busy later. You could easily spend 3-4 hours and not get bored. Definitely add this to your list if you’re planning a trip to London.

Beautiful gardens great for all ages! We had a lovely day walking around the grounds with many indoor and outdoor activities, which was great since the day we chose to go it was showery so the large greenhouses were a great way to escape the rain. It’s really encouraging to see tourist hot spots, like Kew, to be focusing their efforts in being greener too!

First time visit. Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing day walking around the gardens and greenhouses. There were also attractions like The Hive and Grand Pagoda, so a good mix of things to do. The gardens are relatively flat and easily accessible. Several places to eat and drink too.

Large and beautiful garden located West of London. It was so relaxing and refreshing to walk around and see enjoyed the nature while there. They have many sections you can visit including the greenhouses, bamboo forest, tree walks (closed, under renovation), and others. Numerous gift shops are also available and they sell a large collections of products, books, tourist stuff, plants, and others. Ticket is required (can buy online or at the spot).

Kew Gardens has a rightly deserved good reputation. It is a fantastic day out. I took my kids, and the quality of the venue in all things is excellent. From the gardens, to the Green Houses to even the benches placed around the grounds are amazing. It was a very memorable day and we look forward to many many more visits.

It's a gorgeous place and a really lovely day out, only wish they had more water fountains around, only found 2 in the whole park which isn't great especially when visiting on such a hot day. Overall though, was a lovely date trip with the girlfriend!

The Kew gardens are the place to be for the lovers of plants and nature. Around 1 hour away from the city center with the transportation, Kew gardens are a source of oxygen for the area. A huge plant collection, gorgeous green houses with stunning plant compositions. The gardeners know their thing! Favorite greenhouse was the one with the water lilies. Cute cafes and restaurants around the garden but quite pricey. If you want to see as much as possible, you need the whole day. I found non impressive the Pagoda for which we paid extra. Nothing special in my opinion but a good exercise to go to the top. The hive was a very interesting artwork. Again is a must 🇬🇧🥰

These gardens are amazing. They are huge and you can tell how much the staff loves them because all of the plants are so well taken care of. There were no unhappy plants! It’s great that you can see so many different species here. Definitely something for everyone!

We had a fabulous day (5.5 hours) at Kew. Its terrific and 5 hours is not enough so we will happily visit again. Starts off with great staff, a useful map and plenty of well placed toilets. We walked about 8Km so be prepared. The café and shops were also visited and were pretty good. The Pagoda and the Glass houses are exceptional, and on a hot day, very hot. So much interesting information, wonderful specimens and plenty of space so you don't feel crowded. We parked at the Old Deer park car park about 15 minutes walk away. Enjoy!

It's beautiful, inspirational if you have a garden and... Big! Loved walking around. This time we had special attention for the vegetable gardens. But to see more, we have to return. When entering, it looked like people that had ordered their tickets online still had trouble dealing with them. Maybe it's due to the average age...

I took my partner to Kew Gardens when he was visiting London - it’s one of my favourite places to spend a few hours. It’s rich in variety of flora and the various greenhouses are a pleasure to walk through! Tickets are a lot more affordable if you’re 29 or under at £9 but my partner who is 31 had to pay a steep £21. The weekends get VERY crowded, so something to be wary off. My favourite glasshouse is the Lily Pond - it’s tiny but it gets unbearably humid and hot in the summer.

I went on a Friday and I 10/10 recommend coming here. Uber or drive there early if you go to the Christmas lights show since traffic from central London will take about an hour to get there. Once you arrive, you will not be dissatisfied. Beautiful decorations on the walkways, food stands everywhere and great people and employees. So many photo opportunities and the place is a lot bigger than I thought. I spent almost 4 hours there and I had so much fun.

I visited Kew gardens for the first time to see the Christmas lights, and I absolutely loved it. I have always wanted to visit Kew gardens, so I am very happy I was not disappointed. The journey is not bad from South East London and is very straightforward. I advise buying a ticket for Kew at Christmas, but I don't know how it is out of the season. I am so going again next year 😊.

My first year (Nov 2023) of walking among this annual Xmas lighting event - Christmas at Kew Peak!. Loved every minute of it. Such lovely lighting and so atmospheric. Would definitely recommend. Children are likely to be enthralled - a real family type experience. Get into the Christmas spirit

Went at 4.30pm, last few days after Christmas but quite busy by the time we left. Parking was hard so sort that out before you go. Displays were spectacular, food stalls expensive with no coffee or tea! Trail was well planned but slow in places. Plenty of toilets scattered about. Disabled facilities were good too. Well worth a visit.
