I was so blessed to be able to visit this old and well known mosque during my visit to East London. My wife was with me, together with Najwa, Atiq & Nabila, but we were separated as we entered, as the ladies would perform their prayers at a different prayer area on the third floor. I had to use the bathroom quite urgently, and the toilets and ablution area were located at a lower level. I was glad to find that the toilets and wcs were thoroughly clean, and the ablution area had both cold and hot water. The facilities are of high standard, befitting its location. When I arrived at the Main Prayer Hall on the ground floor, the muezzin was about to do the call for Isyak prayer. As a traveller, I had an option to jamak and qasar(shortened) my maghrib & isyak prayers. But as the congregations started to come in, I realized that they are going to fill the entire hall..All praises to Allah!! Hence, I had to opportunity to perform my isyak prayer with the whole congregation... May Allah accept all my good deeds during my musafir period in England..

Beautiful mosque, very spacious, 2 main halls and more spaces downstairs, very clean, ablution place is clean and tidy, great efforts from the Management department. They have other floors for different activities, seems interesting for people who live in east of London. They pray Al-Asr according to Madhab Hanafi which is delayed to other madhab. Baraka Allahu feekom.

East London Mosque is situated in Whitechapel with one entrance in the main road . That entrance takes you to the rear part of the prayer halls. There is a wudu area and shoe racks and the rear of the Ground floor prayer hall and also, round to the right are stairs down to the Basement prayer hall. They provide light blue shoe bags and many keep the shoe bag with them for prayer. There is an entrance next door in a building named London Muslim Centre. This building entrance takes you to a hallway and then you go left to the main prayer hall. In Fieldgate Rd there is another entrance to London Muslim Centre taking you to the hall on your right. This is named Entrance 2 . Then there is another entrance to the Masjid building taking you nearer the front of the prayer hall and is named Entrance 3. The London Muslim Centre houses a Secondary school on 2nd floor and a Junior school on 4th floor. It also has meeting rooms. The Jumuah, Friday prayer was due to start at 1.45 with khutbah (talk) at 1.15. By 12.45 the main prayer hall was full. Lots of people arriving even 45 minutes before khutbah. I was one of many going to the basement prayer hall. There is plenty of wudu and toilet facilities, clean and tidy although one soap dispenser was empty. All around the outer parts of the prayer hall were tiny cubicles for people who live in the Masjid for the last days of Ramadan. The khutbah began at 1.15 after everyone had done 4 rakats . The imam could be seen in a screen in the basement prayer hall. The khutbah was delivered in Bengali and English. This area has a large Bengali community. The prayer began around 1.55. People left around 2.10. There was a collection and an appeal by Muslim Aid for building Masajid in Syria. The Masjid takes credit cards as well as cash. You can donate online too for the Masjid. The atmosphere was busy, crowded, prayerful and quite nice to experience.

Mosques are the heart of various religious functions of Muslims. Apart from prayer, teaching, information sharing and dispute resolution are also done here. In terms of mosque excellence, the Kaaba or Masjid al-Nabawi has evolved greatly from the simple open courtyard mosque of the seventh century. Many mosques now feature massive domes, tall minarets and large courtyards. Although the mosque originated in the Arabian Peninsula, it has now spread to all countries of the world. The East London Mosque is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, between Whitechapel and Aldgate in London, serving the UK's largest Muslim community. This is one of the largest mosques in Europe, there are separate rooms for men and women to pray together. This is a very large mosque, the inside of the mosque is very beautiful. A mind-blowing mosque.

You might know that this is the largest Masjid in the UK. Due to this, they have many facilities such as Islamic shops etc part of the masjid building. The huge size also allows for a significant capacity especially during jamaat times. The building is also very pleasant to look at inside and out. The staff and volunteers do an excellent job of running the masjid and keeping everything clean.

this mosque was of a more traditional shape than its predecessor and built on a far larger scale. In the many years since its establishment, this new mosque, located on Whitechapel Road, has emerged as one of the more influential institutions in the community. The struggles to establish a mosque of its size were many, and the building now stands as evidence of that effort and as a symbol of the many years of presence of Muslim Britons in the East End.

East London Mosque is one of the oldest Mosques in London, it’s probably one of the largest Mosque in UK. It’s constantly expanding to accommodate the need for Ummah. I love visiting and praying there. It opens its doors to non Muslim communities as well where thy can come and visit the mosque. The atmosphere is very welcoming and peaceful. I know personally few Imams who are amazing people. If you want to know Muslim and Islam, please visit the mosque. Don’t judge Islam by hearing from others.

The East London Mosque, positioned within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, lies between Whitechapel and Aldgate East. In conjunction with the adjacent London Muslim Centre and Maryam Centre, it stands as one of the most expansive mosques in Europe, capable of accommodating over 7,000 worshippers during congregational prayers.

It’s also known as one of the largest mosques in the UK / Europe when combined with London Muslim Centre. Great facilities and services available to the community.

The most organised mosque I have ever seen. The staff is so helpful, there is always a space for you- how ever late you might be at the Friday’s prayer. The only downside when there is a Sheikh giving Khotba in a language other than English, sometimes he could be carried away more than the English part of the the same Khotba.

Mashaallah One of the best ones in East London This is the first area where I came to London and I’m willing to pay extra rent to live nearby. Much safer and more convenient to go anywhere too. There are range of restaurants around too and good schools for Muslim families to keep their children in touch with their religious and spiritual beliefs. The only weakness is price wise and lack of good parks around. Btw the Mosque has a great app also that can notify you with praying time and many useful things, it’s called ELM. God bless them I was lucky to meet mufti Menk too for Friday Khutbah.

This is an absolutely spellbinding mosque. The community which has been fostered as a result is amazing and the imams are learned, approachable and have impeccable manners. Taraweeh at ELM is an experience that one should not miss, the recitation pierces the heart and standing side by side with your brothers and sisters in their section is surreal. This mosque is a cornerstone for not just the Muslim Population in Whitechapel but the whole of London. They organise superb youth evenings and charity events.

The ladies section in the East London mosque needs to be newly renovated. Here is a list of things that need to be done. - Firstly, the area is too small. Why is the mens section so large ?? - carpets need to be deep cleaned once a week - The toilets and showers sometimes don’t work properly, the toilet roll holder pops open, taps spurt out too much water. - Someone needs to go around wiping door handles, light switches and taps clean 3x a day with anti bacterial wipes. - The cleaner needs to wear cleaning uniform. Hair cap, face mask, Long gloves, plastic over her shoes and a coat. - please tell women when they want to chat to keep voice down and also discipline their children. The kids are always running around they need to have a section for kids with toys and please teach them basic manners also. Maybe best to also have small rooms for people who have kids with disabilities. - should have someone walking around every half an hour making sure everything is fine I’ve noticed some dodgy people walk around the place - bigger bookshelf with more variety of books maybe 3x of each books - the TV should show how to do wudu, pray, read Dua and do duas as so many different nationalities do it so many different ways. Also maybe show different hadiths, different types of duas, things going on in the mosque etc. make sure it’s written in different languages. Please also write that it’s important for people to shower, change clothes and use deodorant regularly , to speak to people nicely, have good manners, don’t talk about people behind their back and for Bengali women not to go around asking younger women if their married because they know someone who is looking for a wife. - Maybe next to the bathroom entrance put Dua for entering and leaving bathroom. - sermons need to be in different languages not just in !Bengali

Site also has excellent wedding halls. Ablution area is large and clean. Possibly need to increase the extractor fan speed to maximise oder removal. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend a visit.

Each year, Trustees failures to provide sufficient Ramadan food continues. Very small portions leaving hungry muslims. Last 3 years, Trustees saved Tens of thousands due to Covid. Doors away IBIS Hotel holds Al Qaeda mercenaries/Spies/Traitors who amount to over 250 residing /breaking fast in the mosque. This Mosque needs Urgent & Independent Forensic Audit. Trustees must resign, corruption will be exposed.

I’ve been to this mosque 5X now and I am not happy with a few things. For example can you PLEASE tell the cleaner to wear an apron, face mask and scrubs over her shoes and gloves up to her elbows when cleaning toilets. Also PLEASE can you mop the carpet in the ladies section it is really dirty ! And make sure the whole ladies section is hoovered every morning before anyone enters. Can you also please open up the ladies section from 8am in the morning. The eating area in the ladies section is filthy PLEASE mop the floor and scrub the walls !! Astagifurallah this is a masjid why don’t you keep it clean??? You also have to announce in Bengali, English, Arabic, Somalian language that if people are bringing their kids to the mosque make sure they wash their hands, they don’t run around and slam doors and to keep quiet when the Azan plays. Parents should bring toys along to entertain the kids. Muslim kids are so badly behaved !!

The East London Mosque is an impressive institution that serves as a focal point for the local Muslim community. Its grand facade and spacious interior offer a welcoming and peaceful environment for prayers and gatherings. The intricate architectural details, combined with the sense of history and culture, contribute to the mosque's unique charm. The attached London Muslim Centre further enriches the experience, providing a range of services and activities. As one of the largest mosques in the UK, the East London Mosque stands as a symbol of unity and diversity, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and visitors seeking to learn about Islamic culture and spirituality.

Double standard durring their prayers time you can just block street, parking on double lines any time no problem . Try to complain council will do nothing. I fairly enjoyed freedom of people who blocked pavement because they're praying to Allah. Perfect reason to leave East London Biased

These people and these delusional people from these local community need to stop feeding and breeding this cultural and hypocritical and selfish mox and their conceited management who dose money lotting from the public funds in disguise on false charity by deceit word of mouth. I was waiting for the lift today and lift wasn’t even chominh I was there 10 mins standing, I never felt a terrible experience in my life. what if I needed to go downstairs for emergency and your telling me the lift is like 10 mins late while I was waiting I realise how incompetent the lift is, dirty, greasy, smelling and it was incredibly concerning because it was vile the appearance of the lift you felt you might likely catch covid. Moreover they don’t even have the sign postage of the lift that should help down for the statues what the hell of this even if you go to a country that is made out of poor and poor economic growth they even try to make things the best looking by giving 10/10 but look at these money grabbing frauds just trying to pick loot community’s money and steal away by doing runner while playing fake religious by disguise and on 500k payroll every week but then slowly I deeped the same people who run as management in this conceited mox made it looking faulty so worshipers don’t use the lift and think it’s faulty so they can skive by not paying the bills of the lift on the other hand so many fake believers are just rushing down the stairs like its King’s Cross station like they will miss the train when it’s only a 786 mox not a mox built on religious matters and tradition, those people rushing like it’s not just matter time you’ll be out and see the light of the tunnel you’ll be not stuck here so why be much hesitant and none of them even willing to read the two rekat sunnah prayer

There is daily salahs held here(including jummuah salahs). The building has disability access, separate buildings for men's and women's prayer and other activities and has lifts. They also host weddings and events. They host funeral prayer here too. There is a primary and secondary school 🏫 on top of the Masjid. They have taraweeh in Ramadan and it's so peaceful. And there are Qur'an completion halaqahs that are held there too, very beautiful.

They have a very large space for women in an adjacent building and wudhu facilities. Have always been able to pray whenever visiting London alhamdulillah. However during the Covid crisis, they allow access for all prayers except Fajr for women. When visiting on Sunday we had to ask a man a few times for a key to allow them to open the door whereas the men's section was automatically open. Did not understand why they don't open the doors for the women automatically, like they do for the men so we were waiting in the rain and missed the first rakah of Maghrib Salah. Please ensure doors are open for both spaces at the same time to avoid women having to wait in the cold and rain. Other than this, people in London are lucky to have a mosque which still allows women to pray, the same can't be said for the majority of mosques around the UK unfortunately.
