This has recently changed hands. Only been in for a few drinks but it's looking very nice and I've been hearing great things about the food.

Lovely place, food is great. Not stayed in their rooms but if I had to guess I'd say it's excellent. Definitely worth going here

A typical seafront establishment. A little dated but ideally placed if the plans to revamp the seafront go ahead. Got to say couldn't fault the food. Must add I was served 2 pints of superb Bass. Worth it just for that.

Really enjoyed this place. Called in for lunch whilst on a trek to and from Mousehole to St Michael's Mount. Welcoming helpful staff plenty of space inside and a great beer garden at the rear. We ordered 4 or 5 of the small plates from the tapas menus, wasn't disappointed, plenty of food and 2 pints of fantastic beer. Would definitely call again.

This is a review of the pub, but the hoek. This place is a cosy pub with ample seating both inside and out. At the time of my visit they had two ales on tap, both from the nearby St Austell brewery. I confess I have not tried the food here.

Beautiful Art Deco pub; shame that any features of the period seem to have gone. Sunday carvery ok, that's all I can think of to say about it....

Dropped in for the Sunday Roast lunch. The food was well cooked with a wide range of vegetables, condiments, gravy etc on offer as a self serve carvery.

Admittedly it was a long day from the Scillies, planes cancelled ect, so not in best of mood when entered pub. But women behind bar was more interested in serving her few customers beer than checking us in, very rude, room was horrible and cold, she didn't want to know about the heating. Left at 7 next morning to pick up car, thanks to the Dolphin next door for meal, which was fully booked.

No light in bedroom and if you are planning on staying for work and need to be away early then don’t because breakfast isn’t served until 9 so you will miss out on that like myself. Oh, and the room was freezing!!! Other than that enjoy

Very friendly staff and great breakfast(we tried veg, full Cornish and kids options). We took a family room, which is quite spacious and had all the necessary amenities, with a beautiful sea view.

Lovely, friendly staff. We were running late and not sure if we would get anywhere to eat when finally arriving. Rang ahead and the staff kindly prepared sandwiches and snacks for us. Much appreciated when we did arrive. Room very clean and as advertised on the website. Enjoyed a lovely couple of hours in the bar, the barmaid was very friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere. Thankyou.

If you need to go to sleep before midnight don’t bother! The bar is under the bedrooms need I say more . You can literally hear everyone’s conversations even when the music goes off at 10.30 . No use having a nice well equipped room with a nice view if you can’t get to sleep . Staff were very welcoming and location good . Ok for people who stay up late . They need to insulate the floors or inform people who stay before they part with their money about the loudness. I have to get up really early and needed to sleep by 11 . Now it’s nearly midnight and even when I’ve called down twice they are still as loud as ever.

We had the Sunday buffet here and it was absolutely brilliant. The lady that served us certainly knew her Cornwall. We left well and truly educated. Thus lady is priceless.

The food was amazing! Fresh crab salad and the farmhouse burger were delicious - good quality fresh food and great presentation, can't beat freshly sourced Cornish produce. And being right on seafront made it a great location

Pleasant staff, clean, airy room, nice seafront view. Shower/bath below par, but worked very well for a short stay. At breakfast they were a bit too short staffed, but the breakfast lady was nice, food was alright, and we were in no hurry anyway. Did not eat dinner here, but what we saw coming out from the kitchen both looked and smelled nice.

The staff were attentive. The food was lovely. However the place needs a thoughour face lift. The carpet by the bar was sticky and the place was dark. We sat out the back which was very pleasant. I would go again, but there is certainly room for improvement in the place itself and it needs atmosphere.

This pub was way overpriced for what it is. It is in major need of a face lift. There is no parking available with the booking. The nearby carpark was very hard to figure out as you had to use an app and there were never any parking spots available. When I checked in, the guy at reception never mentioned that there would be no bar menu that evening. When we did look for food, we were told it was a buffet. The buffet cost £14 each and closed at 7.30pm. There was hardly any food left in the buffet and no fresh food was put out as the kitchen was closed. We stayed in the bar for the night as the weather outside was very wet. The person behind the bar hadn't really got any idea how to pull a pint and had to be helped by her male colleague on most occasions. Two men arrived in with two dogs at one stage and the dogs received more attention than the customers. The staff need to go to customer service school. The breakfasts were perfectly fine and cooked fresh so that made the stay a little better. I wouldn't be returning any time soon and overall the place needs a complete overhaul

Overlooking the sea front, we called in as we wanted something to eat. We had been struggling to find somewhere for a Sunday roast and this was the only place we could find it. A choice of four roasts we're on offer, though one had sold out, but not the one we wanted. They offer standard and small meals but both offer very generous servings. The meal arrived promptly, well presented and cooked. The price was a very reasonable £20 for 2 soft drinks and 2 meals. We would happily eat there again.

A nice place. It's a little dated but it's an old place. It was very clean and our room was spacious. We didn't have the evening meal, but the cooked breakfast, sausage, egg bacon and beans was very nice. There's a vegetarian breakfast also. The staff were friendly. We had a sea view from which you could see for miles. It's situated on the sea front and only a few minutes walk from the main area of shops, pubs cafés and restaurants. The Jubilee Pool is just across the road. I would recommend this place to stay. .

Amazing food . Just a shame the American waitress was awfully rude and abrupt. Suggest she has hospitality training.

👍👍 One of the best fish & chips I have ever had! Worth to wait in the queue and pay its price! I would change forks for bigger one, but you can either eat by your hand. It is wonderful to seat on the promenade and have such a great meal! Highly recommended! 🐟🍟
