From Tyler Rose Garden we stop by the Historical Aviation Memorial Museum. What a great museum. Lots of unknown facts. Both were super knowledgeable and you can see the passion in their eyes and hear the excitement in their voice. Great experience that I will repeat in the future! Go and visit if you never been there. I will recommend.

Beautiful, clear, sunny day, 1/13/22, and a superb personal guided tour by Michel H. Michael was a walking encyclopedia of info about each of the aircraft and then some. A true gem of a find that not only had a fantastic collection of planes and helicopters, but an indoor museum and restaurant to round out a great stop to learn our history.

This wonderful museum has an abundance of great displays from nearly all eras of aviation located in the old terminal at Tyler Pounds Regional(KTYR)it also boasts numerous historical military aircraft.Pricing here is fair and well worth it to keep their aircraft running and displays on show. They even offer special pricing for veterans/seniors.

This museum is a gem! It contains a surprisingly large collection of aviation artifacts, including photos, uniforms, and print materials. The docents (many retired military) are very knowledgeable about the aircraft, including the engineering aspects. It is a fantastic place for children and adults alike.

Most amazing experience. My family and I actually got to meet two of the pilots that actually flew in the Huey helicopter and the F-4 Fantom. Mr. Hodge was our tour guide and he was the actual pilot of the Huey Helicopter they have located there at HAMM. Thank you for sharing your stories. Thank you for your service.

Great experience!! There was so much history, so many displays and the aircrafts outside were incredible. Whether you're an aviation expert or just someone that enjoys history, the HAMM is a great place to check out. Mr. Mike guided us on a +/- 1 hour tour where he thoroughly explained the evolution of the engines as well as the history of each aircraft that was on display. Will definitely be returning!

What a great museum. Lots of unknown facts presented. Jerry was my inside tour guide and Mike took me out to the flight ramp. Both were super knowledgeable and you can see the passion in their eyes and hear the excitement in their voice. Great experience that I will repeat in the future!

Very interesting displays and amazing people! We were extremely impressed with their deep knowledge and passion for aviation. Will highly recommend this museum to anyone traveling to or through Tyler. For us, it is definitely worth the drive from the DFW area. Thank you Michael and Jerry for the fascinating tour!

My wife and I attended the Rose City Air Show on July 1, 2022 and we have visited the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum. All I can say is WOW!!! The museum is awesome and to see and read everything in there one needs two days. It is full of history and to me, a must see. Never mind the aircraft on the tarmac to be explored. The air show was magnificent, and I am hooked on air shows. Included are the B-29, which is THE aircraft that got me to the show, an A-10 and P-51 flying in formation (incredible!), and a T-33 Shooting Star (an aircraft I have seen up close and personal in Breckinridge, TX newly restored). This was a memorable afternoon and evening that I hope to repeat in 2023. Highly recommend a visit to this museum.

We looked up their hours online, and it showed an 8:00am opening time. We got there at 9:00am to find it was not open. The sign on the door said open at 10:00am, so we turned to leave. As we were leaving, a man wearing a shirt with their emblem arrived. We found him to be rude and pushy when questioned about what time they open, so we left and won't be back!

An interesting, well maintained museum, with significant artifacts, an array of historic aircraft and enthusiastic, engaging, and dedicated docents and staff. These aviators, who have been there done that, are true heroes who took hours to explain, show and engage us. Thank you.

What a nifty array of aviation history right here in my own backyard! I took my grandsons as a part of a homeschool outing and it was well worth our time. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and paid a very small admission fee. There's a little gift shop near the entrance with a good selection of aviation related things to help you remember your visit. Our little group of 8 was immediately escorted onto a secure area of the tarmac and walked through a great selection of planes and a helicopter . There were engines, decommissioned guns, and a small cabin that the kids could actually sit inside. Our guide was quick with information about the planes and great at answering the kids questions. There is not an actual "tour" of the museum exhibits, however there are placards with good information. In several places, CD's are available to play that explain the display. During our visit there were several cordial and well informed docents throughout the museum ready to answer questions and explain things to us. Is obvious that this museum is the passion of those who work there, so go and soak in some of their love of all things aviation. After your visit don't forget to stop at the Cafe in the lobby for lunch and check out the radio controlled small scale planes hanging from the ceiling while you wait. Great way to spend a day and learn a few things in the process - thank you for having us!
