Amravati Airport is very important for Vidarbha. amravati airport is situated in bellora 15 kilometres from Amravati Maharashtra it cover an area of 74 hector and ha 4500 feet runway 1 a 60 m by 45 m apron and terminal building. Now Maharashtra government decided to re devloped the amravati airport early it was in Maharashtra industrial development corporation and it handed over to Maharashtra airport development corporation, Maharashtra government has planed to invest 128 crore in Amravati airport. In July 2019 formar Chief minister Devendra ji Fandvis has inugruale amravati airport expansion plane and now it's work 70 has been completed and terminal building order work also been sender to the relivent agencies.. as soon as possible amravati regional airport will start soon . Alliance air also keen intrested in to give air service from Amravati to mumbai..

The airstrip, constructed by the Public Works Department in 1992,was taken over by theMaharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) in August 1997 and later transferred to the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC). In February 2014, the Maharashtra government decided to lease the airport to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for 60 years for a monthly rent of Rs 1 lakh. The AAI will develop the airport over three years. The runway will be extended to 2,500 metres suitable for landing Airbus A-320 aircraft.

Though the location of the Airport is ideal but since no regular flights are there it's just a waste of place or in better words it's just a dumpyard and nothing else

It's not a regional airport but it will be a full fledged domestic/commercial airport as the population of amravati city is about 10 + lacs. the name is amravati airport. as of now it is just a airstrip for charter planes as of now there is no night landing facility at amravati airstrip/airport. from more than 4 and half years madc and government is developing this airport still actual developement has not yet started as they are just acquiring the land required for the expansion/developemnt of the airport the developement of the airport is going on a very slow . don't know when this airport will complete as in 5 years time 4-5 airports can be developed or upgraded.

Amrvati air port is also called as Belora airport. There is no regular flights from here but it is a well maintained airport . Occasionally used for government and ministers plane landing and take off.
