Whatever I've said about jalapeno bagels being my favorites is long gone. I have found the perfect bagel, and that is the green chile bagel, specifically from Ruby K's in Los Alamos. My intention was to stop in this cute little cafe for just a regular bagel and butter but after surveying the menus for a moment I realized I needed to try one of their signature sandwiches. I chose to belly up to the "Up & Atom" (eggs and sausage topped with salsa and melted cheddar cheese on a green chile bagel, $5.69). The namesake derives from the town's popular Manhattan Project National Historical Park Visitor Center just across the street. Holy wowza, this bagel was DA BOMB (get it?). The bagel itself was SPICY, the egg super moist and the sausage bursting with flavor. I loved the salsa and there was plenty of cheddar. I'm sure Ruby's got some other kickass goods on her menu but if you ask me, this sandwich has gotta be one of the best picks. It's just SO GOOOOD! Also, I appreciated the complementary orange muffin. The sugar served as a great contrast to my spicy sammy.

Waited forever for our order of a smoothie a coffee. Turned out they forgot our order. Sadly we did not even get an apology or something to make up for it. Several employees were chatting and just standing around during lunch rush hour. The bagels looked good though and online orders seemed to be ready quickly.

I have always loved going to Ruby Ks and thought that Ruby herself was wonderful. I had a terrible incident today with Joanna and followed up with the CO owner Mike. Rather than being sympathetic or apologizing for my experience he was dismissive. For an employee to use profanity when speaking with a customer is inexcusable. Don't bother ordering online as the menu is wrong. So sad I can no longer eat at one of my favorite places in Los Alamos. Edit: I hope they have cameras so they can get the real story on how their employees behave.

Completely unreliable, they are closed without warning all the time. This last time we stood outside for 30 minutes in the cold because they were running behind and opened late (god forbid they let us sit inside) and then after waiting in line they would only sell us 6 rather than 12 Bagels because their supply was low when we needed a dozen because we had 10 people at our house to feed! The kicker is that she said we could have 6 more in 9 minutes when more would be done but here's another thing about Ruby Ks, it takes them 10 minutes to serve just 3 people at the register so they really weren't in any danger of running out! But with 9 people in line it would take us another 30 minutes to get those bagels. Also has anyone heard of first come first serve? It's how most if not all bagel places work, I've never heard of a limit on ordering food, and if they did run out briefly couldn't those people further back in line wait a few minutes for that new batch?

I haven’t been to Ruby K in sometime and in past it was great. Today I ordered a sandwich with a lettuce wrap. I open the container and what i received i would have to wrap myself or eat as finger food. Really just a lettuce wrap 🤦🏾‍♀️ and it wasn’t wrapped just kinda smushed together haphazardly.

Decided on this bagel place, from out of town waited in line for about 15 minutes got to the counter they said no more bagels. So we ordered a panini with veggies, I got the blt with a Baguette and chips 2 medium drinks it was 38 dollars. Went to find a seat all the tables were dirty, I cleaned my own table and the high chair I used for my daughter. I waited about 20 minutes for our food. And looking around u can tell no one ever dusts or cleans. It felt grimy and sticky in there. We were very disappointed. The only reason I didn't get my money back or leave and eat in my car is cause I'm pregnant and I was starving.

Food has been pretty good the few times I've been here. However the prices are a bit high. Also the young staff are extremely rude and unfriendly. The few times that I've been here I've tried smiling and being friendly to not only the person working the register but the staff at the pick up window and all three times they were unfriendly and looked extremely miserable. I've worked about 20 plus years in the customer service food industry so I know that it is hard stressful work at times mainly because of rude unfriendly customers. So I try to be as friendly as possible when I'm dealing with any food service workers. However I do know what type of customer service is expected from you when you are the food service employee. And the customer service at Ruby K definitely has alot of room for improvement. Hopefully this message/review gets to management/owner(s) and hopefully they address these issues with their staff. You can have delicious food, but it you don't have good customer service at the end of the day customers are going to start going somewhere else.

A decent little lunch place. However it was really disappointing to come, and find they'd run out of bagels!! The sandwiches were still great, but when you have your heart set on a bagel, bread isn't gonna cut it. Be wary of their peak times. It can take them a while to get through orders, and you may end up waiting longer than you'd like.

This is a very nice bagel shop, with the addition of other kinds of sandwiches for lunch. Lunch. They close at 2:00 p.m., so that's the only real downside. Try their soups, they have a pretty good selection and very high quality. They're also an excellent place to get a cup of coffee.

Small space, quite packed in the afternoon with very little available seating. However, service was friendly and our food was ready quickly. The sunrise breakfast sandwich wasn’t anything to write home about but the veggie sandwich was great. Delicious, fluffy bagels.

Quaint little bagel shop with great sandwiches. Everyone was very friendly and the food was delicious. Turkey bacon club on a green chile bagel 👌

I got a pesto panini sandwich and to be honest there wasn't any flavor in it. It was just salty. I had also gotten a soup, but it did not taste too great. In the soup's defense I don't care too much for minestrone. This place seems super hyped up and expensive but really its like a mom and pop Panera place. Which isn't a bad thing, I just want more flavor, not just pepper and salt, ya know? I have yet to try their bagels. I am low-key scared to because what if I am disappointed? Because let's be real, I was disappointed with that panini I got. Update: I tried their bagel. It was ok. It wasn't anything to call home about.

Ruby K's saved our bacon! First Born had an event planned and had meant to preorder sandwiches for lunch. However, we messed up and didn't complete the order. Despite a line out the door, they had 10 sandwiches beautifully arranged on platters within 20 minutes! We are so grateful to have this gem in our town.

It's incredible to find bagels at such an out of the way location, let alone good ones. Really nice selection with some unique flavors. These are more of a softer cake bagel rather than true traditional ones but no complaint.

Ruby KS has the best bagels and bagel melt sandwiches around! I love the green chili cheese bagel with house made green chili cream cheese! Their smoothies are a nice addition and really round out the morning! Their physical space is open and charming and clean! In warmer months you can sit outside under the roofed area and people watch.

Super tasty bagel sandwiches. I cannot recommend the jack and eggs enough, great bite for a great price. My lady had the raspberry turkey and we loved the freshness of the sprouts and the sweetness that f the jam. Only 4 stars because the ladies working seemed to be overwhelmed! Although they were friendly and got our food out quickly, I feel that another set of hands would really lower the overall stress you could visibly see. Ruby K where you at!? Help these girls out

My partner stopped by last week to grab me a plain bagel and cream cheese. After he put in the order, about 5 staff stood around playing on their phones and chatting. He was the only customer since Ruby's was about to close. After a minute of waiting, he had to ask for them to fill the order. One staff said "I don't have my glasses. What was the order?" When I received it, the cream cheese had a strong sour taste. I had him also try it to confirm it had gone bad. A week ago, I sent a message to Ruby's to let them know about the cream cheese being bad but didn't hear back.

Excellent veggie wrap! Friends had bagel with lox and liked it. Coffee was good. Busy, popular place.

The cinnamon crunch bagels are the best. Please make more throughout the day. A build your own bagel option would be nice, too.

As my 2-1/2 years old son and I meandered the streets of LA. We turn the corner and saw Ruby K’s. Thirsty we entered and upon reviewing the menu I asked my son, “doesn’t a slushy sound good?” At that exact moment an angry looking girl spins round and yells, “We’re Closed!” I said thank you and we walked out. It was 2:17pm. There were plenty of customers inside and out. I may have failed to read the small handwritten sign stating the hours but certainly didn’t deserve the callus treatment. I live in this community and won’t be back. Will not go if invited by friends or colleagues. Thanks again K’s. If your out of business next year we won’t miss you.

Decent green chili bagel with green chili cream cheese but the chili could have been much spicier.

Yum! Very busy, very fast, fresh. Friendly. This looks like the meeting place for everyone in town at least on a Saturday. Lox and bagels good. Turkey sandwich delish. Side salad was good. I'd come back in a heart beat.
