beautiful hotel with a super friendly, hard working and supportive staff! giving one star because Marriott’s lack of support for their workers is creating a disruptive and unsafe environment for hotel guests. would recommend anyone considering this hotel stays elsewhere until Marriott has given their staff a livable wage and whatever else they’re asking for to feel safe and supported by their employers.

My stay was wonderful, overall the staff was very helpful, especially Jennifer the concierge. Her attitude towards helping me out made me feel welcomed during my stay. Yesenia from the front desk also had great customer service by helping me with my reservation and the amenities that were included were great as well. Overall I had a great time at the Marriott.

Great hotel … happened to book during the Emmys which was directly behind the hotel. Saw many stars while at the hotel. Room was amazing thanks to the upgrade. Breakfast is awesome as well. Stayed for 11 days … it was in a great location close to staples center / Microsoft / LA live. Nice gym as well. Will frequent this hotel going forward.

Waking up to a 6am protest is not a great experience. If the hotel staff were paid more and had a better working environment this could be avoided. We enjoy staying at the JW Marriott but this is incredibly awkward and unpleasant. You can afford to pay your staff better and give your guests a better experience than this.

Awesome hotel, guest service was spectacular including the valet! They were the best! Very comfortable hotel makes you feel welcoming and at home. Also located in the very center of Los Angeles giving us an amazing view of the city and allowing us to go anywhere we’d like. For sure coming back any time soon.

I would consider this hotel a “standard JW Marriott” - which isn’t meant to be a slight. The service, room, and food is slightly better than a Marriott but not as luxury / thoughtful as a Ritz. With all that being true, it is therefore a tremendous bargain. I used points and points + cash for my 2 days but the cost of a night’s stay for my last night was ~$250 which compares very favorably to the Ritz (which is literally attached to the building with a different entrance) which seems to run in the $700+ range. It also came with a suite of extras which belies the destination fee (an increasing rarity), which includes a daily food credit, spa credit, retail credit, and others I can’t recall. Would be suitable for romantic getaways, business, and families.

Very nice room. Love the heated pool. Close to many restaurants and events. Staff is wonderful. I love a friendly and respectful housekeeping staff, as I work from many hotel rooms. I've chatted with multiple concierges at this JW and Jennifer is the most helpful. She's awesome. They were striking during my stay. I must say that it was loud, as it should be, but I appreciated how the hotel allowed sectioned space to kept the protesters safe.

Horrible front desk staff. My daughter arrived 4 hours before me and instead of using my Amex on file and checked in with via the app, they placed a $1,600 hold on her debit card. The inflexibility of the staff here is the worst I’ve ever experienced in my 12 years as gold elite. This will be my last experience at this hotel.

Nightmare of a stay. Took a shower and after drying myself off I realized I was using a blood stained towel. Rude staff top to bottom. (Except the lady that checked me in was very nice and accommodating). got harassed 3 times by staff just looking for my car in the lot. They basically called me a liar and made it seem like I was walking around trying to steal stuff out of cars. Had a guy on a golf cart follow me around for 15 minutes while I looked for my car instead of actually helping me find it. I expected a lot more out of a place that i spend $400+ on for a single night. I’ve stayed in hotels that were a 1/4 of the price and 10 times better. As a former Marriott employee, this place is nowhere close to the “Marriott standard”. Would not absolutely not recommend staying here.

I had an excellent stay here!!! Room: I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of my room and all aspects of it such as the closet, the bed, the sheets, the accoutrements my view everything this is an older hotel. I have not even visited this hotel in probably 15 years, but it was extremely clean. I felt very comfortable, in the room and all of the products were excellent And well appointed. The only thing I wish could’ve been better was my TV I did have problems with it and the connectivity wasn’t that great, but there wasn’t one thing that stood out as being an inadequate. Housekeeping Excellent!!!! I love how the housekeepers arranged my items so thoughtfully, and I’m usually very particular about people entering my room and often don’t even let housekeeping come in, but this is the longest day, and I was very very happy Conference food/staff and accommodations: I loved the staff at the conference, they were all so nice and accommodating!!!! 5 stars and a tribute to a good working environment and management. The food was pretty good too, I did t think I would like it as much as I did!! Lobby bar Pretty good food was ok limited selection but that makes sense right. Xoxo

On January 30th, 2022 my wife and I had the most wonderful stay at the hotel. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by 2 of the most warm, helpful, and personable receptionists to be had, Sergio and Judith. Our accommodations were nothing less than stellar, with a view to live for, and it was truly a night we will never ever forget. I implore the JW Marriott to continue to find and employ staff members of the caliber of Sergio and Judith, and prepare themselves for the onslaught of patrons seeking excellence in customer service. All of our thanks for a perfectly memorable experience. Dr. and Mrs. White

I work in hotels. I am not the easiest person to please at a hotel. I was very satisfied with my experience. Location was central, rooms were clean, staff was excellent, informative, receptive. Room service is through the roof expensive. $45 for two glasses of wine. But, it's technically a Ritz-Carlton property as well. So I guess that's to be expected. I also feel like they could up their linens game. Other than that, top notch.

Wow!! This is a great hotel!! Great everything!! Service, rooms, atmosphere, food, location, you name it!! It is clean, up-to-date, and very swanky! The bathroom shower tile is beautiful!! An NHL Team stayed here at the same time we did. That was a nice experience. The view from the room was great!! The breakfast on the main floor was amazing!!! The waitress was nice and attentive. This is definitely worth a stay if you get a chance!

When we arrived we were told that the reservation had been canceled. They were able to get us a room even though the hotel was full. We called Marriott customer service to complain and they said they couldn't see anything on their end and if it had been canceled it had been canceled by the hotel. So we went down to talk to rooms operations manager. He found our reservation. Someone had prepended a letter to my last name. He apologized and proceeded to make our stay very comfortable. He really listened and took the time to make our stay a great one. There was confusion in the beginning, but in the end Marriott pulled through thanks to Mauricio Medina at the LA JW. The restaurant is quiet reasonable and the food and service were good.

Let me just say...my stay actually started off with an issue, but this was promptly resolved and it turned into the best stay at any Marriott property I've had. Abelino, Kellen, and the entire staff took phenomenal care of me (twice)! I had just booked a couple of nights here. Had a stay lined up at another Marriott property. Had such a phenomenal stay that I came back and they upped the ante and took even better care of me the second time around! I was having knee surgery and was having my first couple of days of recovery at the hotel and they really anticipated my needs and made things comfortable. They truly understand the guest experience and how to treat elites. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the property. The location is amazing and the rooms are tremendous too. They have excellent on property amenities as well (check out the fitness center especially). This is now my favorite hotel and will be the one that I book my stays at in the future. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone and especially fellow elites.

Our favorite place to stay in Los Angeles. Service is unmatched and the rooms are always clean and cool. There’s always something to do in the area but also very relaxing if you’d like to stay at the hotel for the day.

Staying in town for a conference. The facilities are ok. The fact that the hotel owners are dealing with the strike by handing out cheap earplugs instead of paying their workers a living wage shows complete and utter contempt for both the workers and the guests. I cannot imagine how exhausting it must be to have to stand in the scorching LA sun the whole day just to try to pay your bills. Do not recommend staying here on ethics reasons.

Visited for a conference, loved the hotel and room. Conference center very easy to get to from hotel. 3 stars due to theft experience when our conference guests were told they could leave items in a secure room while we attend the last session of the day before heading to airport. Electronics stolen from many guests, our national organization had to file police report.

The location is clean and smells fresh when you walk in. The staff is really friendly and professional. The hertz rental car is down stairs and the gentleman running the counter was extremely helpful and friendly. Ten out of ten totally recommend. Although the location has lots of homeless people real close to the parking and hotel entrance. Got our rental car from hertz too.

We had the worse experience with the Four points Sheraton at the airport when they double booked our room after our flight was delayed. My family was left without a hotel after landing at 11:00pm. We looked up the JW Marriott and immediately called to make sure they had rooms available. Upon our arrival they had our room ready and waiting, checking in was AMAZING and the door man I think his name was Dan or Danny made my morning the next day when he helped us to our car with our luggage with a great personality and a wonderful smile to start our day…..After all the chaos last night the JW has definitely changed my attitude about California!!! We will be back again because this hotel is perfect for us.

Bed bugs. HORRIBLE BED BUGS. I am COVERED in bites to the point I thought I had hives all over. Called in to report it after I had the bites confirmed and was told by someone (who was acting like he couldn’t find our reservation) that a manager would be calling me back Friday. They did not. Since it’s the weekend I will be calling again on Monday. Stay far away from room 920. UPDATE: tried to call again. Got hung up on and not taken seriously. They said they have been putting people in that room still after I called last week.

Pros: - Beds extremely comfortable. Best I have slept in. - Clean and tidy. - Staff friendly and attentive. - Rooms have lots of storage. - No issues or bugs with room cards which is a huge relief. Cons: - Bathroom doors in rooms are weird slidey doors that don't lock or shut fully. Would prefer a real door/more privacy - No ventilation in bathrooms. They get steamy and smelly easily - Wi-fi very spotty. It kicks us off each day and sometimes asks us to pay even though we are members. It doesn't work on my phone at all - We had a lot of trouble asking for extra items like towels and pillows. We'd order on the app and they'd say delivered but we'd receive nothing. - No sockets or tables for one side of double bed and the floor is soooo far from the bed. - We only got two bottles of water etc a day for our four person room - Obviously underpaying their staff. 3 days of protests, some starting at 4am. The protesters have my full support.

Visited here for the Volvo conference. Incredibly well managed location. Basically next to the ritz Carlton. Conference floors and rooms are well organized and the food/catering is top notch. Would highly recommend any stay here in the heart of LA Live center. Staff is phenomenal. Made sure they got good tips for their service.

All the employees here are super friendly. Everything is beautiful and clean. I feel very secure here. I even left something in my room and they made me prove it was my room before they would give me my belongings that I left. I really liked that they made sure it was me getting my stuff. The breakfast buffet was like $70 but they had absolutely everything you could possibly imagine to eat. The only thing that really sucked was that their scrambled eggs are powder and that's disgusting especially for JW Marriott

I came to LA for a business trip and stayed at this hotel. I give them a solid 5 stars. The room was clean, the service was amazing, and the hotel was really well-kept. The staff was incredibly helpful, and I appreciated the hospitality. The rooftop also offers an amazing view

Went for a conference, Room seemed a little worn and tired, slightly outdated. My room must have not been updated like some of the others. Couch was stained with certain “bodily fluids”, linen’s were your typical cheap motel type, bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Tile grout in shower seemed to never have been scrubbed. Had a great view of a wall of the building next door. Hotel is way overpriced. Lots of homeless people in the area.

JW Marriott is truly a wonderful hotel. It is conveniently located next to the LA convention center. It is across the street from a movie theater. There were many conference rooms for large events.

My experience at the Diamond Banquet Room at JW Marriott for our gala event was nothing short of spectacular. The room exudes elegance and luxury, creating the perfect ambiance for a memorable evening. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, from the exquisite decor to the impeccable service. The food and beverages served were of the highest quality, and our guests were truly impressed. It's a top-notch venue for hosting a gala, and I can't recommend it enough.

Just as nice as every other JW. And right next to the Lakers stadium. If and when I go to a game, I’d definitely stay here. The breakfast buffet had great options and an omelet bar. And the staff at the hotel was very friendly. Our room was spotless. And you can’t beat the view! Nice that the pool opens up early. Seems like most pools open around 10am which is too late for a morning lounge.

To keep it brief, this is a 4-star hotel that offers 5-star service and ambiance. To expand on my sentiment, I was supposed to stay at Conrad again, however, because they were experiencing an unexpected issue. As a result, I was transferred to JW. The staff was courteous on the phone and in person. The lobby and room were clean and well-kept. They supposedly offer EV charging, but I did not charge my car during my stay. I want to note that even when confronted with an annoying situation, the staff remained polite. For instance, the valet issue. I have had my car for nearly a year. Because there is always an issue with leaving my car with valet (valet attendants have trouble using my car in valet mode), I have opted for self parking whenever available. Unfortunately, JW does not have self parking. Although I could tell that the valet was getting just as frustrated as I was, they maintained their tone and professionalism. They also kept their humor and were good sports about it. I love Conrad Los Angeles and would have preferred to stay there, but I would recommend staying at JW Marriott L.A. Live if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

We visited L.A. in September for a concert, and really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the junior suite which at the time was around $700 a night, and were really impressed by how large the space was. The pictures online don’t really convey just how large this suite is, but there is plenty of space for more than just two people. The room was pretty high up in the tower, and the view was beautiful, especially at night when all the lights come on. Many things are within walking distance which is a bonus, and the convention center is almost directly next to this hotel. We used Uber for a lot of our traveling while staying here (which I don’t recommend, it really broke the bank) but another plus was that the hotel has a really clear pickup/drop off location for Ubers.

Great location, great rooms but AMAZING staff. Very helpful and friendly at any hour. Janjse Barlow and Sergio Gonzalez were particularly helpful with finding a few stores I needed and providing extra necessities for my room, all while being really nice. Will be back again!!

Spacious rooms & great service. Everyone was very attentive and helpful. Lovely breakfast space for Marriott loyalty members (executive lounge), well stocked & well looked after. Felt it was a good value for $$ at the rate we were able to get. Would stay again.

The bed and shower were quite luxurious, and we enjoyed sleeping there when we could and the water heated quickly. Overall, we were happy to sleep there and enjoyed the services given, but the hotel shared areas like the hallways and elevators weren’t as clean as our room. The bathroom was awkward, so you could hear more than you’d like. To put it bluntly, the experience was the same as any other Los Angeles 4 star hotel except that the bed was fluffy and the shower was impressive.

Hotel room was very nice it was clean, the hotel staff was warm especially room service I recommend room service actually it was a full Vibe a really great experience. Again I think that the west coast and the East Coast are very different Marriott's on the East Coast when you let them know what your anniversary they go hard they try to accommodate their concierge goes out of their way to make you feel special here I think everybody is treated basically the same does it matter if it's a special occasion or not. I'm always comparing places when I go and Marriott Bon joy in New York Believe It or Not does a much better job in New York's not known for being the nicest but it's definitely more warm when there's a special occasion

The room was good but the check in and check out service was terrible. When we checked in we were given room keys that opened a room someone else was living in. Guests were absent but their luggage was all opened on the floor. We were told that checkin staff made a mistake b/c the names were similar. We were told that our parking fees would be waived due to this mistake. When we checked out we still saw parking fees in our bill. We told the staff the story but the lady was looking at me unbelievably and asked who was the checkin staff, whose name I absolutely forgot. I also chatted with the staff who helped us with luggage delivery. He told me that those key mistakes were extremely common. What a surprise! It means your room has a large probability of being visited by someone else during your stay! It is not a matter of money after all. It is a matter of chaos management and lack of trust and professionalism of staff.

I liked the hotel overall, stayed there during the conference. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms. Cool amenities. A couple of things that I didn't like were: sliding barn doors in the room washroom, they give very little privacy; the hotel is proud of their TV system, but I must admit the remote was very hard to work with, it was lagging and not responding to the buttons, as in the signal goes via internet connection snd back to the TV.

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. I was working a conference for the Corporate Counsel Women of Color. The hotel is pretty big and the rooms are great. I had the most amazing experience staying at the JW Marriott. I chose this hotel based on the great reviews, and I was not disappointed. Michael went above and beyond in making our stay extra special. Every single staff member, from the men in valet to the people at the front desk, were extremely friendly and helpful. The design of the hotel lobby was beautiful and grand. Our room was very clean and modern. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you!

Great place to celebrate and for very large conference. Lots of versatility from small to very large meeting spaces. ADA accessibility for elders and disabled. Needed for distance between rooms and conference areas. Beautiful 32 + Sky lounge facility; Location near plenty of eateries, shops, sports complex, theater and arts venues. Near busy trafficked fwys. Plan for travel times. Great rooms and service experience. It's L.A. Live!!!

When entering, the hotel staff is friendly and eager to help. The front desk staff are quick to check you in and explain the amenities they have. The pool was closed but I was offered a complementary access to the Ritz-Carleton pool which was a nice gesture. The room is clean and everything is tidy as expected of this caliber of hotel. Room service is also quick to answer. The main floor has a coffee shop, restaurant, and gift shop. The hotel is also centrally located so it's easy to explore. I would stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Paid extra for a “city view”, gave us a view of the arena, doesn’t quite feel like a city view. The bathroom had some weird stains on the wall. I took a rag and wiped some of it off to see if it was easy or not and it was. Makes me think cleaning staff was lazy. There was two coasters on the table by the coffee maker that said something about water but nothing there, had to call to get some waters. Nice place but not as nice as I’d think with the reviews.

Beautiful lobby with 4 story Atrium that leads into gorgeous rooms. Ultra clean and run with the efficiency of a world class elite boutique hotel. Extremely conviently located next door to Convention center and Staples Center as well as many other venues. The staff is attentive and diligent. Parking was a breeze with professional valets that immediately took your car.

This is my go-to and favorite hotel in LA! I visit my family in LA frequently, and opt to stay here on every occasion because of the flawless experience I've had each time. The valet attendants are lovely, and always approach you to gracefully open your car door for you. The front desk staff are delightful, and have always upgraded me to a suite with great city views (only once they didn't have any availability due to a convention). The amenities are top-notch. The location is in close proximity to so many great restaurants, and is conveniently in the middle of the city, which makes it easy for me to travel to West and East LA to visit different family members. My only complaint is I wish there was a club lounge! Although the credit you receive for breakfast buffet is pretty generous. This hotel has the best of what LA has to offer, and is nothing short of stellar.

Wonderful staff, great restaurant and bar lounge in the lobby that's always full and lively. Drinks are great, food is great, location is great. There's a Tilly's coffee in the lobby area, a really nice gym with free weights, spa and swimming pool. The rooms are spacious, clean, with loads of towels, and comfortable beds that are consistent with JW Marriott standards. I'll definitely be back!

I came here with my boyfriend (who is a platinum member) for a night stay at the jw. To say the least there is a protest that started at 3AM in the morning and went on for three consecutive days NO STOPPING. The hotel offered us ear plugs. THEY DID nothing . WE DESERVE A FULL REFUND. I turned on my sleeping music full blast on my iPhone and I could still hear them through the window .

My fiance surprised me with a room here for my birthday. After leaving the LA Sparks game the hotel was literally a rocks throw from the Crypto Arena. It is a beautiful hotel outside and in. They comped valet and upgraded our room for my birthday. We checked in Saturday and checked in Monday. I loved it and hope we can stay there again!

I recently stayed at the JW Marriott and had an incredible experience. The staff was phenomenal. There was no line at check-in. The team member, who greeted me, went above and beyond to be courteous and respectful. His eye contact was genuine. The precise way in which he received and returned my ID exemplified their attention to every detail. The room was one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in. It was modern, spacious, and easy to navigate. The stay was one of the best hotel experiences I've had.

A nice hotel with comfortable rooms, a beautiful lobby, solid restaurants, and attentive service. I was here for a work conference with coworkers and despite the business, the staff were always ready and willing to accommodate our requests whether it was for cleaning, extra towels, or room service. The hotel is well localized and near the Grammys museum. There were a surprising amount of grocery stores and shopping within walking distance. The only downsides would be that the pool area was outdoors and it was far too cold to enjoy, the spa (at the attached Ritz) had a high facilities fee and limited facilities (there was a sauna, but no hot and cold baths). The nearby location also had a large number of homeless which is, more of a general LA problem.

Huge, fun, comfortable front lobby! The best feature about this famous hotel, is its gorgeous and spacious front lobby! It is big, multifunctional, with different rooms and areas, to sit down, watch a sport game, drinking a beer or coffee, meeting a friend, looking to your phone, or just simply relaxing... There are also many very clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and quality services. They also have many outdoor spaces for you to enjoy the sunlight and fresh air. Plus, it is in the center of the LA Live: with many concerts, restaurants, and sports events within walking distance. What a perfect location for you to enjoy LA!

First let me say Jennifer in customer service was very helpful prior to our stay. The location, although a bit scary at night - was very close to the arena which is why we were there so that was cool and convenient. Bottom line- I Wanted to love it… but there were a few things that were off putting -one of the towels in our room that was folded up under the sink had some sort of stains all over it- was dirty & I didn’t realize until I started to use it. Gross! Staff at front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked the woman for help, as my bill was not making sense- she acted like she was bothered- after looking at the bill further I found that not only was I overcharged almost $200.00 but that many of the charges were someone else’s restaurant and bar charges also they kept saying they applied the 20$ food and beverage credit but they didn’t..(which you technically pay for though the destination fee) which could be a positive if they actually honor it. I called the hotel after checking out- and they told me I would have to call back the next day- I decided to use the chat feature in the app and was able to reach someone who kept questioning me about whether or not I ate in these restaurants and bars which I explained several times I DID NOT. They were very rude and thought nothing of charging me for whatever. Very unprofessional - it’s unfortunate. After reading the reviews- it seems they make a common practice out of charging peoples cards “incorrectly” on accident. Maybe the majority of people who stay at this establishment can afford to just have nearly $200 incorrectly billed to them, but I am not one of them- so maybe that was the reason I was treated like a second class citizen after paying almost $1500 for 4 nights? Not sure..I give service ZERO STARS solely based on the front desk.

I stayed at the JW Marriott live in downtown LA. Because I attended the democratic convention and the people behind the front desk particularly Anna and Harrison were. Simply wonderful and helped us enormously. And we had the buffet breakfast at this hotel and it was. Quite good all of the food was well prepared. And present. And Luis the Custom omelet maker was absolutely superb and made us omelets that were delicious and the cheese selection that the buffet was also very nice along with. Sliced turkey and also ham and roast beef and all of the breakfast things you would expect we're absolutely present and very nicely done. . As to the rooms they were very comfortable beds with excellent pillows a very nice bathroom with an appropriate amount of supplies for the shower et. C and overall it was just a very comfortable. And good sized room and that Overall. Makes this an excellent hotel to see. And visit and you will enjoy your experience there enormously by by, Stephen Valentino

Had a lovely stay here! Breakfast was great room was amazing with a killer view. My one issue with this hotel is valet/parking For starters valet gave me the wrong key to my car and I drove away thinking it was my key until I looked down at the tag and the last name was not my own. Secondly the entrance just gets jam packed with private cars, drops offs, people waiting to valet their car. If they had more individuals running valet I don’t think this would be an issue as there would be enough hands to help the constant flow of traffic. Other thing to note… this is the JW Marriott why are we still using thin two ply tp in the bathrooms !!! The people want charmin ultra soft :)

I was recently at the JW Marriott because I had an event near LA Live and much to my surprise, they had beatbox beverages sold here. I have never seen the products sold at any hotel before so it was definitely cool. They have 3 flavors but I do hope they add hard tea to the mix someday. Since they're already selling it, I'm also hoping that other hotels in the Marriott group will consider adding beatbox to their stores as well.

This hotel is what Marriott does best - taking care of their guests really well. Apart from the usual amenities we have come to expect from Marriott brand this hotel offers a personal touch. My husband had a dental emergency on a Sunday afternoon. The reception desk referred us to a local dentist for the following morning and told us that if pain gets worse at night please call us, we will be here all night. This was very thoughtful and just what we needed to hear. Love how they are able to see a person in the crowd. Highly recommend!

Great location and beautiful hotel. The room is spacious and clean. The front desk staffs are professional and helpful. The only issue was the loud strike outside the hotel. Definitely will be back, thank you.
