I checked out this spot and it looked like they had a solid breakfast menu. I ordered their breakfast burrito. It was well proportioned, full of flavor, the ingredients were great & over it was an excellent burrito. The chips were nice and crispy with a really delicious home made salsa. I checked out the bar area and it looks pretty nice and I’ll probably come back another time during the evening to check it out. Probably one of the nicest looking bars I’ve seen.

Overall: 4.3/5 (dine in) Zinc has a beautiful outdoor patio seating but they don't service that area. You have to go inside to order food & drinks at the bar. Vodka Sunrise ($10 HH): Vodka, peach orange juice, & raspberry puree. I was expecting it to be sweeter but it wasn't. Seems like they used a lot of vodka which my friend likes but not me. Zinc Fries ($6): Really good, thin, crispy fries. You can taste the thyme & truffle seasoning. Not too big of a fan of the dipping sauce. Oaxaca Old Fashion ($14): Doesn't taste like your typical old fashion. Reminded me more of a Sazerac. Mark's Espresso Martini ($14): This was really good & well-balanced. It was the favorite of all the drinks we tried.

Excellent place to grab a healthy meal. Their vegetarian version of a pastrami on rye stole my heart. Great atmosphere and indoor and outdoor dining.

Well, I know where I can go to get my veggie fix. Here’s the problem, I eat too much meat. But places like this convince me that food can still be enjoyable with just vegetables. My goodness, their entire hot food bar was phenomenal. Wasn’t disappointed by a single dish. I want to know how to cook these at home!! And great outdoor seating.

I like this place a lot! It’s a very spacious cafe. They have 2 outdoor areas. Has a European contemporary feel to it. The food is good. The veggie burrito needed a bit more flavor. The coffee was good. I ordered a latte. The have a store inside. Parking is not that difficult and it was also free. There’s never a long wait. Even if you see a line it goes by quickly. The area where it’s located is clean. Good brunch place. They have heaters outside as well. Enjoy!

Affordable vegetarian food in a spacious venue? Sign me up! Three of us swung by for dinner on a Monday night. Street parking only, and the venue is HUGE. The dining experience is designed so that you order at the counter, pick a table, and food is brought to your table. My friend said that a few years ago, Zinc was a table service restaurant, but I imagine the pandemic changed things. We ordered way too much food: 1) Zinc meatballs and marinara, $13: tasty, would recommend 2) Enchiladas, $17: tasty, would recommend 3) Funghi pizza, $20: decent 4) Pesto casarecce, $17: one of my favorites, would definitely recommend. Pasta was nicely al dente 5) Stuffed pepper, $16: bland, would not recommend 6) Heirloom tomatoes, $13: refreshing, would recommend 7) Zinc fries with truffle salt, $8: friessssss yesssss, would recommend At least the upside of ordering all this food was that we got to try a lot! Overall, a great dining experience that won’t break the wallet.

Stopped by for dinner. Didn’t realize this place is 100% vegetarian. Ordered truffle fries, hummus, lentil soup, chips and guacamole and buratta salad. Food was decent, chips and guacamole was my least favorite. Truffle fries were my next least favorite. I won’t recommend ordering them. Buratta salad and lentil soup was great. Don’t think I will be back as I’m not a big fan of no meat restaurants.

Wow! Waffle just melts in your mouth! This cafe is worth a visit alone if you love waffles. Was not expecting how amazing the Belgium Waffle is here. Has a great light crunch with a perfect flavor of sweetness and buttery goodness. The rest of my breakfast was a bit underwhelming. The coffee was absolutely horrid, wish I had gone across the street at Blue Bottle cafe(amazing coffee) but this cafe deserves my rating just alone on the waffles. The salads here are very good, have a great balance of textures and their house dressing has a very taste to it to amplify the greens. Their burger is not real meat nor is it any kind of impossible or beyond meat but rather a blend of soy and tofu. I am a huge meat eater and lover of all things red meat, but the burger wasn’t half bad. It was actually decent, more so then I thought it would be. The outdoor patio is very inviting and one can enjoy their breakfast with LA’a amazing weather. Prices are a bit steep here but it’s downtown LA so those are expected. Definitely please with Zinc cafe‘s food and their awesome patio, will be happy to return here when I am in downtown.

Awesome place good for meals from breakfast to dinner. Food is delicious and have good options. Dine in and dine out views are good. As of now only outside dinning due to pandemic. Famous on locals and students, reservation help to avoid wait time.

Beautiful place to get lunch! The menu is great, there’s a variety of options and healthy options too if you want. The vibes are really cute, classy, comfortable. The prices are also really great for LA - And the portion sizes are good as well. I got the grain bowl, which has quinoa, corn, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, arugula, harissa / dressing but I asked for it without the dressing and it was still really flavorful. I would recommend coming here if you’re on a diet or not looking for a heavy meal, but still want to be full. The service was great, the ambience, the seating. It’s also self seating as well. Highly recommend!! The food, the price, service, and location all add to five stars

This is a great restaurant in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, and it's actually reasonably priced! I got really excited about the prices here since it's becoming normal for a latte to be over $8 now. I met friends here for lunch, it's casual yet it has a really nice atmosphere and decor. You order at the register, and they give you a buzzer and then bring your food to you. So it's partial service, I like that they bring the food to you, even though you order at the counter. They have Vegan options which is great, they also had a wide range of Gluten free options. I got a bowl of chili, I requested it vegan. It was a good size portion, it came with sour cream and 2 delicious garlic knots! The bowl was $9 and I got an iced, vanilla oatmilk latte, lattes start at $4.50, which omg, is AMAZING! The servers were nice, we were there on a Monday around 1130 a.m., it wasn't too busy. They have a beautiful patio area, a bar area and an indoor, well lit area. There is street parking and a parking garage, they do not have a parking lot.

Great spot for work meetings, and has plenty of spots to sit. There’s a nice healthy selection of vegetarian dishes. The veggie burger (a house made burger) is always a hit with my friends. The mac, and cheese was good but a little dry for my liking. The Angel hair pasta was perfect for what I was wanting. Not too heavy, and a good bread to pair.

Zinc remains one of my favorite spots in the arts district. I’ve been coming for years and it never disappoints. You can never go wrong with a pizza and fries it’s my favorite combos.

4.5 stars. A fantastic brunch spot catering to dietary restrictions with a cute outdoor dog friendly patio! Once you arrive, you wait in line at the counter to place your order and then take your buzzer to any free table. Their menu is full of vegetarian options and most dishes can also be made vegan and/or gluten free. My friend ordered the poached eggs on toast sans tomato and I ordered the asparagus and mushroom omelette and a matcha latte. The food was delicious, and I loved their matcha latte! In regards to service, staff will only be by briefly to drop off your order and clear plates away at the end of your meal. You're going to have to flag someone down if there's an issue with your meal, you need a water refill, you need a to-go box, etc.

I enjoy eating the Avocado Toast with Poach Eggs. We went there after the Cremation of our Grandma to have a Lunch and I got the Avocado Toast which is delicious. And my brother got the Potato Arugula Pizza which is delicious and it is Gluten Free. And I saw some birds eating the empty table outside that the other guest left there meal which the birds started to eat. The Service was good and polite. So I recommend going to this place for lunch with your family or friends.

I stopped here for lunch and to get some work done a few days ago, overall the food was ok and the customer service was not outstanding. The Cafe itself is aesthetically pleasing and quite busy during lunch. I liked how there’s a lot of space and tables available so it’s a good location to meet up with friends or to get some work done (but the cafe doesn’t allow their guests to utilize their wifi so go prepared)

What a beautiful cafe! It’s so close to LA Boulders that it’s a perfect pre- and/or post-climb place for noms. I highly recommend the croissants here, they’re the fluffiest croissants I’ve ever had. Soups and bagels here are also very delicious. We hit rush hour during our order and wait time for take-out was around 20 minutes. No biggie, the food made up for it. Staff was also very friendly. There’s patio at the front and side of the restaurant. Also, if you like looking at things while waiting for your food, there’s a section where Zinc sells home stuff (cookbooks, pillows, glassware, etc).

Headed into the bar side and was impressed with the cool feeling of the place. Going through the courtyard at night takes you away from the Arts District and into another place. Obviously it’s very casual but the service was great and the quality of the food was as good as you would hope for. Think simple americana cuisine and you’ll be fine.

My shop is here in the Arts District and the waffles, oatmeal and avo toast are a good way to start the day! Later on during the evening the adjoining Bar Mateo is a great place to meet up with friends, have a drink, dinner and the atmosphere outside is amazing! Def a cool local spot to dine at!!

I finally decided to give this place a shot and I was surprised by how big it was. There’s a ton of seating inside and outside and the entire place just looks amazing. You need to order your food at the front first. I got the French toast and my friend got the breakfast burrito. Both were good and I can see myself coming back for the food and vibes.

An asthetic place for brunch or a late lunch. There are plenty of original dishes and delicous favorites. The second time back, just good as the first, the pizza has some great flavor with rich oil and savory cheese. Open air patio with water features and clean restrooms. Great atmosphere and quality. Consider this place for your next date night.

This restaurant serves meatless dishes, but its very tasty and this is coming from a person who likes eating meat. The restaurant atmosphere is very relaxing, and it’s a dog friendly place. I had their margherita pizza which was delicious. (Which is not pictured). $15 as of July 2021

Attended a retirement luncheon here. It did make it easy for each guest to order their own food instead of dividing up a bill. I pulled out my cash and was taken aback when cashier said I might not have the exact change. I was like, 'what?' Ahh... then I saw the sign, no cash. Geez, I forgot I was at a hipster spot in the LA Arts District. I did have a credit card. She said the cash was fine and I just said keep the change as a tip. Embarrassing! It was a beautiful day and the 12 of us ate outside on the patio. I don't think you can make reservations but I think because it was a special occasion and we were just ahead of the lunch crowd we were given the area. Avocado toast was tasty with fresh ingredients.

Came here for a second time yesterday during happy hour which is Monday-Sundays 3-6pm. Got to admit, it's been a long time since I visited so it was nice to experience it again. I forgot how deceiving it is looking at it from the outside but that's just some spots you pass by in the Arts District where it's a certain look but has an amazing aesthetic inside. And coming to Zinc, it is a beautiful place inside, with heaters at their outdoor tables, plenty of open space, a patio, bar and clean bathrooms. I'd say it's a great spot to do work, catch up with friends and even come here for a brunch, lunch and/or dinner date. Service was really good. You order at the front counter and everything was simple and easy to do. I'm sure at different times of the day, it can have a long line to order but when I visited with a friend, it was a Thursday and surprisingly not busy at all during Happy Hour time. Maybe we were just lucky. And parking, we didn't have to worry too much because we parked elsewhere and just walked here. Food-wise, it is very healthy dining like super Vegetarian friendly! Which is really good and healthier for people. My friend and I shared these zinc fries tossed with spicy zaatar and some vegetarian sliders. As well as a couple of Moscow mules since it was during happy hour and it was cheaper. The choices were delicious and we left with satisfied & happy tummies! Will definitely be back again to try the other stuff!

went for dinner at 5:30 saturday and it wasn’t busy at all. I’ve seen lines many times at brunch time though when I pass by. No reservation. nice social distanced tables both inside and outside, foods are good price (consider it’s in Art district, yeah very), nice outdoor dining area We ordered eggplant parmesan, guacamole chips and today’s soup and all of they were pretty good. Food was very quick. They have good bakery things as well. Wine list has good options for glasses, also they have great cocktail options

A few of these photos are from when we first went then the others are from the second time, we love going to zinc it’s a great hideaway in the arts district. I really enjoyed the chillaquiles bowl which is why I got it the first and second time I came, the Belgian waffle was delicious and so were the French toast, I like that they come with a side of fruit. I am a big fan of chai so I had to get the iced chai it was really delicious I chose it with oat milk. I like that they have a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. My husband got the asparagus mushroom omelet and it came with roasted potatoes they had a really great flavor to them, he also got the zinc sunrise which is fresh squeezed orange juice with peach juice and raspberry purée. Will definitely be coming back for my birthday which is in one week, I am excited.

Love the atmosphere. They have plenty of both indoor and beautiful outdoor patio seating. We had a pup guest with us, so we sat outside on the cozy patio. We came for brunch and were disappointed to find out they ran out of bloody Mary's. They have a huge menu with so many healthy options including avocado toast which seemed to be popular here. Everything looked so good, it was really hard to choose. We ordered: Asparagus, Mushroom & Goat Cheese Omelet Mediterranean Omelet (Spinach, Roasted Tomatoes & Feta) Both selections come with fruit bowls and roasted potatoes. The iced coffee is good. But the iced almond milk matcha latte is DELISH. Reasonable pricing for great quality food. Good service. Parking was a breeze for us (we got lucky!) but I can see where finding street parking could be difficult in this specific area.

Oh, my gosh! This cafeteria was satisfying and a very good place to visit, eat, chill, and study. I went there a couple of days ago, and the staff was very entertaining and respectful towards me. As I ordered, they were very good and fast. The foods and the drinks that they served taste very good and better. Eventually, I realize that I will come back here. Thanks!

Unfortunately, this restaurant wins for worst salad I've had in my life. I got the Thai salad with dressing on the side. The salad is very one dimensional in flavor and texture. The dressing really doesn't do anything to elevate the pile of bean sprouts, carrots, and cabbage. This is more a slaw than a salad. As I tried my best to graciously eat this dish, I found the rice hiding at the bottom. I got excited thinking maybe the rice was the missing component and maybe the salad would actually be good. My first bite of rice, however, obliterated those hopes. This salad was beyond saving. The rice was clearly old and sat in the fridge for longer than acceptable. It was hard and dry. I also found this delightful rock of rice amongst the veggies. I hate wasting food but this was so bad that I just gave up trying to eat it. $15 for a disappointing salad. Also, one of my friends had ordered a side of potatoes and after he paid and joined us at the table, an employee approached to inform him that his potatoes will take 30 minutes to prepare. 30 minutes?! My other friend ordered a breakfast burrito which arrived around the 30 minute mark as well. Hope you have a better experience than I did!! :)
