I'm sure this bar is great and lovely as the reviews make it out to be. The reason I'm rating it a 2 is because I attended a show there last night and there was absolutely no ventilation. People were packed like sardines and there was no flowing air; you were just breathing everyone else's breath. I haven't been there when it's just a bar and I'm sure it's nice but if they want to use it as a venue they really should do something to accommodate

There’s a Bob Dylan lyric from the song “Tangled Up In Blue” I’ve always loved: “There was music in the cafes at night and revolution in the air.” That line always plays across my mind every time I set foot in the Love Song, one of the touchstones for why I love living downtown. It’s the kind of place where you meet your neighbors for the first time who then become friends, and the gracious bar staff knows your name and you know theirs. And there’s always phenomenal music in that front window that makes DTLA feel like Greenwich Village in the 60s. This bar truly is a Love Song to the neighborhood and I hope to singing its sweet melody for years to come.

This place is awesome! It's a cozy bar with beautiful decor. Lighting is perfect, it's not noisy and the drinks are amazing. You can tell the bartender what ur poison is and what flavors you like and they will wipe up a cocktail for you. I had a 4 drinks all made with vodka one was better then the other. Customer service is great. I will return 100%

Ordered the Lion's Tail. Tastes like the candy I had when I was younger as a child. Awesome vibe. Plenty of space and selection of alcohol. Bartender is friendly and dj's too. Does it all.

Stumbled upon this cozy bar accidentally and I’m extremely happy we did! Very cool live music, friendly bartenders and good drinks. What more could you possibly ask for?

I love this bar in downtown Los Angeles. The drinks and music are great. The staff is friendly and make you feel welcome. It's next to The Regent Theater and it's a perfect place to go before a show.

Even prior to 2020 I would have been uncomfortable at this bar. Tried to see DJ sets here multiple times and they just don't have the flow worked out to make the dancefloor feel welcoming or safe to breathe on. I think if they oriented the booth differently, perhaps tucked it into the front corner or wall opposite the door, even if they want to leave the sound where its at, it would do a lot of good for the flow. Just seems unsafe and leaves a lot of people kind of floating in the main bar area. if you're short and good with dark spaces/crowds you should be fine. Nobody respecting my personal space tho i stood way back so i could try to warm up and dance. folks literally grabbing my arm as they walked by all night. There's no need for that when im actively bobbing and weaving to try to make room. back bar/bench seating area could use some ambient lighting. I'm gonna try to come back earlier next time and give it one more shot but this has been ny experience so far and i think the issues could be solved/space made more inclusive with a few key adjustments to balance the space.

Honestly, super small. No cash allowed! Ugh, old man here only carrying greenbacks, luckily my buddy paid for my drinks, embarrassing. No cash, no tip. They should think about that. Sorry, enough with the complaints, just there watching live music, dreamers, and supporting my buddy and his band Former Portrait. It is right next to a venue that has bigger bands play every once in a while. Other bars are nearby, but none open early, that is before 8:00 pm. The atmosphere is great with a crowd that is knowledgeable on music and friendly, you feel welcomed with these people! Great place to hang, if not small. Limited selection of beers with no stouts or porters. Had to go with an IPA. They get a five for vibe, community, and allowing performers to entertain us.

This was a very fun bar experience, I went here for the rapids playoff launch party. I was given a wristband linked to my card at the door for convenient payment and no need to close out tabs.

We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and knowledgable. The music did not overpower our conversation. We munched, we drank, we were merry. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody, whether they swirl their wine before drinking or not. And I would go there again in a heartbeat.

Julio is truly a master of mezcal. He tasteful used it in each of our drinks and gave my Old Fashioned a new life. I really enjoyed my experience. Thank you, Julio.

Tiny, crowded, difficult to order a drink, but you could say that of pretty much any bar on Sunset on a Friday night. The drinks are good and reasonably priced for the area. I could live without the skeletal remains of marine life as decor (a deceased turtle and a deceased porcupine fish are among the collection) but the rest is kitschy good fun. Restrooms were surprisingly clean. Nice spot to pop in for a drink, but don't expect to find a place to sit.

This place is as good as it gets if you don't want to deal with the pretentious LA nightlife. Good dj's, great bartenders, and good people. It can get crowded so expect a line later in the night. There's a shared parking lot but of course ride sharing is easiest. It honestly makes for an easy night out.

Came here for a night with my friend and had extremely good time. The vibe was right and the staff was very attentive to our every need... I ordered cheesy tater tots, warm quinoa salad and my friend got the lobster sliders. As much as I was impressed with the vibe and service I was not impressed with the food. The sliders didn't have much flavor, the tots were soft and bland. I enjoyed my salad but it was a tad too spicy which took away from the flavor of the salad which was really good.

Bartender clearly hasn’t been bartending long. Didn’t know what a hot toddy was, I showed him a recipe, he made it and it was cold and he told me “all the other ingredients are cold so it can’t be hot”. I was a bartender for years, this is such a dumb excuse. I was then charged for it even though it’s not what I ordered. He did nothing to try to make it right. Drinks here are also just really expensive in general.

I'm so glad I found this drug store near my home because the staff is always so friendly and welcoming whenever I visit. They even gave me free gifts and discount coupons! It is strongly suggested!

I recently visited to the love song bar, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The ambiance was vibrant and inviting, setting the perfect mood for a night out. The cocktails were expertly crafted, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes. The bartenders were not only skilled mixologists but also friendly and attentive, making each visit to the bar a memorable one. I can't wait to return to there for more enjoyable evenings filled with fantastic drinks and great company

Love song bar is a great space to grab a drink downtown while enjoying local djs, bands and visiting acts. Adjacent to the Regent there’s always a mix crowd, nice eclectic traffic of good looking people. Bar staff is attentive, friendly and welcoming. Nice sound system and perfect intimate seating. Would recommend for a date or large group.

Very little to fault here. Always manage to get a bar stool and a few decent wine suggestions (& importantly samples) when you tell the guys what your drinking mood/taste is. The pour is also on the heavy side, which is always appreciated. Chill spot with no loud mouths and invariably good music.

This little bar is low key but with a big vibe. I really love their live music nights featuring international and local musical artists & DJs, and the intimate space makes it feel very underground/ IYKYK type of thing. One night I wandered in and ended up seeing a Japanese rapper from the underground Tokyo hip hop scene who I had never heard of before, but it was so much fun and the crowd was super into it and dancing their butts off. It feels like they really care about bringing a unique flavor and variety to the nightlife scene here. Cocktails are also delish (I always order the Lastword), staff is friendly, crowd is relatively unpretentious. Def one of my go-to spots in LA for new music and dancing.
