Another consistent tip on most LA recommended sights… this one was cool to see. Iconic building with very unique style and cool to see the reference to movies it has appeared in. A working office building but you are allowed to access ground floor and take a look at the interior. Definitely worth adding to your itinerary if you are in the area 🤙🏼

Architecture pearl in DTLA. If you are enjoying unique buildings and their architecture - this place definitely must be visited. There is several reasons - it's real gem in DTLA, and as movie lovers you will find this building in a lot of legendary movies such as "Blade Runner" (1982), "The Unfaithful" (1947), "Shockproof" (1949), "D.O.A" (1950), "I, the Jury" (1953), "Good Neigbor Sam" (1964), "Lethal Weapons 4" (1998), "Pay it forward" (2000), "What Women Want" (2000), "500 Days of Summer" (2009) and famous winner of Oscar's "The Artist" (2011). And it's just small part of history of this architecture gem 💎

Beautiful building to visit and check out if you’re in the area. The architecture within is really unique and although you only get to enter and stay on the ground level, but it’s really a site to see. There are old style elevators, mail chutes, and even the floored tiles are very vintage. You can take some photos of this building and be in and out within 10 minutes.

Beautiful building worth visiting if you are in the area. It is free to enter to see the interior architecture. Elevators are not for public use. Entrance only from Broadway Street.

EDIT June 27,2022: A friend visiting LA has told me it is open. It's a very cool building when you can go in but as of September 5, 2021 it is still closed to the public until further notice. You can see inside the front entry but don't expect to be able to go in for a while, possibly until after COVID.

While the Bradbury Building is shut off to the public due to COVID, it is a hidden gem in downtown Los Angeles and should not be missed by the tourist or longtime resident alike. On the outside, it looks like an ordinary building - although the inside tells a different story. Wooden staircases, cast iron elevators and a ceiling of glass, this building has been home to several films throughout Hollywood’s history. Even though you’re not allowed to go past some of the staircases, all you must do is look up and see the Bradbury’s beauty.

The architecture of this building is astonishing and the open bird-cage Otis elevators are pure fine art. Only the lobby is open to the public and can be visited freely. The building is also a setting in the film Blade Runner and many others.

Be aware... as of 10/30/20, the building interior is closed to the public due to COVID-19. So if you are making the trip downtown to see inside, realize Google maps is wrong saying it’s open. Otherwise a beautiful example of architecture that was featured in Blade Runner.

Definitely worth visiting once. Looks exactly like the photos. Don’t expect more. You cannot go up the stairs it’s not worth driving to to visit but if you’re in the area definitely worth stopping by! Perfect way to walk off your lunch after going to Grand Central Market.

Amazing beauty inside ! This historical, beautiful and unique building, is a true hidden treasure ! When you look at this building from outside, or walking by, you would have never imagined how amazing it is inside! It is truly a piece of treasure from last century, but it is still standing and running like years before. It has been used for many movie scenes. When you walk inside, you feel like the time has stopped at 1930'. How wonderful and mysterious the feeling can be! Unfortunately, it is only open to the public for its front lobby and hallway, since it has been rented out for normal business office use. It has been kept in very clean and very functional conditions. It is like a piece of antique left in downtown Los Angeles, for people to look at it and to imagine how people used to look like and to come out this real treasure.

This place has a special energy... more than 100 years, it has amazed people with a whimsical architecture of man’s creation. Come there and listen to a gorgeous symphony of glazed brick, gorgeous marble, ornamental cast iron, and polished wood. Enjoy the beauty!

For the fans of Blade Runner, it’s a must see! It was the set for many scenes for the film on this old building that has a unique architecture. Although, you cannot walk all over the building because it still works and people still use it. But if you’re visiting Downtown LA, it’s definitely a place you have to walk in. It’s also free if you’re wondering.

Free to check out the first floor of this iconic historical building. Has been in some famous movies. Working offices upstairs, need permission to enter. Can take pictures on your phone but no camera. Definitely worth a stop if you’re wandering around downtown LA.

It's such a neat building to check out. You've probably seen it in many a movie over the years. Blade Runner is what I always think of when I see the Bradbury Building. We only got to walk around the ground floor since there are actual businesses on the other floors, but we still got some cool shots of the place. If you are downtown, this is a must stop. The architecture is definitely next level and futuristic for its day, to say the least.

Definitely stop by if you’re in the area. The building architecture is amazing. You can access the lobby area only. The upstairs is not open to the public and elevators cannot be used. We parked down the street at a parking garage. It’s $22 for 8 hours. We ate at a restaurant that validated $6 for us.

I recently took a dive down the Bradbury Building rabbit hole. The Bradbury Building supposedly is the oldest commercial building in the Downtown Los Angeles which opened in 1893. The building is a popular tourist attraction. The Bradbury Building is also an iconic and popular building appearing in an abundant amount of movies and tv shows.

Just a small building and you are only able to access the ground floor but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The interior architecture design is amazing and you can see it for yourself from the pics. I wish they would have allowed us to use the old classic elevator and view upper floors, that would have been nice. :) 😀

Historic architecture with this quiet downtown spot. Films such as Wolf, 500 Days of Summer, and others have used this landmark for th their location. Fair warning, you can't wander beyond floor one, since their our actual businesses their. However if you are looking for great architectural photos, this is the place.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Bradbury Building, and I must say, it left me in awe. As an architecture enthusiast, this historic gem surpassed all my expectations and captured my heart. Stepping into the Bradbury Building was like stepping into a different world. The moment I entered, I was greeted by a magnificent atrium that took my breath away. The delicate wrought-iron railings, intricate brickwork, and elegant marble staircases created a truly captivating space, evoking a sense of timeless beauty. What struck me most was the skylit atrium, bathed in soft natural light that danced through the open metalwork and decorative grillwork. It created an enchanting atmosphere, casting intriguing shadows and illuminating the architectural details. I found myself wandering, admiring every nook and cranny, completely lost in the building's spell. As I explored, I couldn't help but feel a deep appreciation for the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating this architectural marvel. From the vintage elevator, which felt like a journey through time, to the charming mail chutes, every detail spoke of a bygone era. It was a true testament to the artistry and dedication of the past. Being a fan of classic films, it was a thrill to walk in the footsteps of Hollywood history. The Bradbury Building has been featured in several iconic movies, adding an extra layer of magic to the experience. It felt like I was part of something greater, connected to the stories and characters that had graced these hallways before. The Bradbury Building's preservation and accessibility are commendable. It stands as a reminder of the importance of cherishing our architectural heritage. To be able to visit and immerse oneself in this treasure is a privilege that should not be taken for granted. In conclusion, my visit to the Bradbury Building was a truly enchanting experience. It transported me to a different era and allowed me to appreciate the beauty of architecture in its purest form. If you have a passion for history, design, or simply crave a unique adventure, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this timeless gem nestled in the heart of Los Angeles.

Absolutely worth a visit is you love architecture and/or history. You might not be able to explore very far up into the building as the stairways may be roped off but what is still available for viewing is spectacular. It's also not an insanely busy (tourist) spot and the traffic that does come in, comes in - takes their pic and leaves... So you'll find yourself by yourself if your patient.

The Bradbury Building is an architectural landmark in downtown Los Angeles, California, United States. It was built in 1893, it’s now a five-story office building. It has a skylit atrium of access walkways, stairs and elevators, and ornate ironwork. It appears in many works of fiction and has been the site of many movie and television shoots and music videos.

I love Bladerunner, so I had to visit this building. Even if I hadn't seen it, I would want to because this architecture is mind blowing. You're able to climb one set of stairs and get a better view, but I think the best angles were from the base. It's across the street from the Grand Central Market and a lovely little stop.

The Bradbury Building in downtown Los Angeles is an iconic and historic landmark that is well worth a visit. Built in 1893, the building is known for its beautiful and ornate Victorian-era architecture, with a central courtyard that is bathed in natural light from a stunning skylight above. The building has been featured in numerous films, television shows, and advertisements over the years, adding to its allure and mystique. The interior is breathtaking, with wrought-iron railings, marble stairs, and intricate tile work on the walls. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the building's first floor, which includes a small museum about its history and architecture. The upper floors are still in use as offices and are not open to the public, but the first floor is still a must-see for architecture enthusiasts and history buffs. Overall, the Bradbury Building is a must-visit destination in downtown LA, offering a glimpse into the city's rich architectural heritage and history.

I only got to take a sneak peek at the inside of the building. I have wanted to see if for a long time. It didn’t disappoint. I wish I could have stayed longer. Hopefully I’ll get to go back. This was not a vacation trip so I had to grab all the little moments I could to see the landmarks.

Blade Runner fans will recognize this building. It is so cool to see such an iconic deco building. They don't build them like this anymore. You are limited to whre you can go because the building has tenants. You cannot ride the elevator which I wish you could. Old elevators with operators are cool. This place is a gem. You coud easily walk past on the outside since it's a bit subtle.

The Broadway landmark is beautiful and atmospheric, but maybe the the most fascinating thing about it is the people who have been associated with it since 1893. A number of them have gone the extra mile to ensure the Bradbury survives and thrives for future generations, and it gives us hope to explore these stories of hard work, love and faith.

It is one of the historic buildings of Los Angeles, thanks to its particular geometries was chosen to shoot scenes from the film Blade runner of 1982. The entrance is almost anonymous and passing in the area you will not notice. Impressive building. Love the cleanliness and state it is in. Was reprimanded by security that no videos are allowed although there are no signs except further down in the building. Amazing!! I'm a big Blade Runner fan, so always wanted to visit the Bradbury building which is the home of JF Sebastian in the movie. Well the movie is very darkly lit, so very little of the building's beauty is seen. It's an impressive mix of materials, marble, wrought iron, glass, wood, and 2 kinds of brick. If you're there on a sunny day watch how the sunlight shines through the translucent marble on the stairwell landings. It is free and open to the public 9-5.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful building from the end of the sec. 19th century and perhaps one of the only remnants of the ancient city of Los Angeles. The building is very well maintained and allows us to enter its lobby lit by a beautiful skylight structure and take pictures. The space is characteristic of the buildings of the period and the access to the upper floors is made by two original elevators and a super staircase. It is worth visiting to know the architecture of the period and to see that even old, the building is alive and well, receiving an office and contemporary companies. It is a gem in downtown LA. Mrsmo for non-architects the visit is super interesting and will awaken new aesthetic appreciations. (Original) Bela edificação do final do sec.

This historical landmark is worth every penny to stop at! The metal work is beyond compare and the views from the ground leave you awed! The only downside is that you can only go to the first floor as it is blocked to visitors beyond that

It's free! :) but you can't go up the stairs. I would budget no more than 15 minutes for the visit.

It has changed a great deal since my last visit ten years ago. They even shorten the Biddy Mason exhibit.

Historic architecture with this quiet downtown spot. Films such as Wolf, 500 Days of Summer, and others have used this landmark for th their location. Fair warning, you can't wander beyond floor one, since their our actual businesses their. However if you are looking for great architectural photos, this is the place.
