After a night drinking in Koreatown, this was the perfect way to end the night. Classic Korean bar/snack food that very much reminded me of a little restaurant I visited in S. Korea. Dark aesthetic with lots of little booths. Took about 40 minutes to get seated when we got there around midnight but it was definitely worth it. Service was very quick once you get in. We got the seafood pancake, chicken gizzard (a first for me), and some pork belly. All of it was delectable and washed it down with some soju. If you're looking for some Korean drunchies or just a somewhat "authentic" (coming from a white guy that visited Korea once) late night Korean bar experience, this place is great.

Good vibes, decors, and lovely servers. Food is priced reasonably and comes in large servings! Could be tastier but it might just be the dishes we ordered (seafood pancake didn’t have much seafood, corn cheese was just ok as well, spicy chicken skewer is super spicy and the waiter warned us about that)

Dan Sung Sa is a small inconspicuous restaurant that has always piqued my interest. The long lines outside the narrow entrance catch my eye whenever I pass by it. Now, I understand why this tavern is so beloved. Once I stepped through the door, I felt like I was transported to Seoul. The aroma of sizzling meats and simmering stews filled the air, and the sound of clinking glasses and lively chatter created an atmosphere of warmth. 🍽️Ordered: 1. Kimchi pancake 💰11.99 2. Kimchi stew 💰12.99 3. Korean ramen with egg x2 💰5.99 ea 4. Bulgogi w/ glass noodles 💰14.99 5. Beef short ribs x6 💰2.99 ea 6. Han woo beef skewer x2 💰2.99 ea 7. Chicken skewer x1 💰1.99 8. Pork belly skewer x1 💰1.99 9. Spicy chicken skewer x1 💰1.99 10. Yogurt soju 💰17 They specialize in Korean street food and have a wide range of dishes from juicy skewers to fiery stews and crispy fried snacks One of the dishes I enjoyed most were the succulent beef short ribs. The meat is juicy and tender, with a smoky and savory flavor. Another standout dish was the kimchi jjigae, the fragrant stew was packed with umami and was the perfect balance of spicy and tangy. If you want to immerse yourself in an energetic environment with great food and company, come here for your next adventure.

One of the best meals my wife and kids had in Koreatown. Why? The variety of food, and fair prices. You won't find $50 plates of beef here. You will find however, $2 to $3 skewers, small plates/tapas, seafood pancake, squid, calamari, soup, pork belly, bbq pork ribs, and must I say an excellent fried chicken wing. Our favorites were the skewers, chicken wings, stir fry spicy squid, seafood pancake. Skip black sausage and chicken feet (too chewy). Most people were with friends, in groups, and by the time we left around 7:30, there were at least 20 people waiting. It does get loud inside, like a bar. Parking is $4, valet.

We ate eight side dishes. The atmosphere in the store is like a small Korean tavern. The speed of receiving orders is very fast, but I had to call in the staff three times to get a cup of water. It's still questionable why I couldn't get a cup of water for the countless moments they brought my skewers. The price of foods is cheap, but there is nothing particularly delicious.

The food was amazing I ordered spicy ramen with dumplings and a corn cheese appetizer. I wasn't fully satisfied and still a little hungry so I ordered sweet and spicy wings and ended up not finishing it and needing a takeout box. The waiter was friendly told me all the popular items and assisted me in finding my meal. Just be informed that the wait time is pretty long. They also normally don't let you order without buying alcohol. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend it.

A staple of the Ktown scene, this place reminds me of the kinds of alley bars you can find throughout Asia, except bigger. Same cool vibes, though. Food is amazing and reasonably priced. Be careful, though, drink prices aren’t listed and they are expensive…

Located in Los Angeles, California in Korea Town, this restaurant offers delicious Korean food. It's not the fanciest place, but it'll definitely spice up your life! The food is cooked to perfection and the flavours are spot on. The service is also great, with the staff being friendly and attentive. Overall, this restaurant is a great option for anyone looking for a good Korean meal in the area.

Great place to meet up with friends and grab drinks. There are grilled skewers you can order to go with the happy hour vibes (unfortunately they don’t have a happy hour menu or specials). Food-wise, my favorite was the beef short rib skewer (wasn’t on a skewer). The other skewers that I ordered—scallop, pork belly, frog leg—were alright. The seafood pancake was a little underwhelming as there was very little seafood and lot and lots of green onions. I would come here as an after-work spot to drink and chat, but not for a dinner meal. Service and staff were great. I suggest coming hear early to avoid the long wait like most places in LA.

Get there early or give yourself plenty of time to wait. Really fun menu with plenty of classical old Korean bar food and fun vibe that reminds you of the Korean bars in the 80s. Fun place to spend the night with your close friends.

We ordered the spicy pork bulgogi, which I don’t recommend. It was not worth the $18 we spent. The pork was not spicy, rather it was too sweet. Moreover, it was extremely oily. If only there was rice, it would have been a nicely balanced meal, and the sauce/oil could have been properly soaked in.

After waiting in line for about 30 minutes on Thursday night, we got seated in this old school style Korean restaurant and bar in Korea town, Los Angeles. There were so many things in the menu with affordable prices. We liked everything we ordered. More than food, it was the atmosphere, it was lively, fun and interesting. You must try it at least once when you are in LA.

This is such a fun and interesting place. Food had such great flavors. We tried things we would never have before. It's amazing food, and very fast service. Atmosphere is 11/10. It gives off such a gritty vibe and really sets the mood. Start with the rice cakes, spicy chicken skewer (it's spicy), chicken skewers, tender pork skewer, and beef skewers.

Will go again / Food = Above average / Service = Above average / Price = Below average / Cleanliness = Average I asked the waiter for some of the most popular items on the menu and spent around ~$30. Cool place to hangout with friends whether dinner or late night. Similar to Japanese yaki tori, Dan Sung Sa offers many small food items at lower prices around ~$2-3 per plate and other larger plates at the usual in prices ~$10+. Great place to enjoy drinks and order the small plates paring with the alcohol. They are also open until late so it is mostly a nightlife place to go. Although the few meat small plates I ordered had similar flavors, they were good. A variation in the flavors would make it that much better. I tried the Korean rice wine for a drink and it was quite good. To soften the alcohol in my body, I finalized my order with the eel hand roll because of the rice. Umami at its best. Parking is limited similar to many places around Koreatown. Street parking might be a more viable option around the area. The interior is clean from what I can tell. As the interior design has a wooden theme, ithis is difficult to tell. They have many booths around the edges of the place with a center table surrounding a Japanese style cooking area where the orders come from.

Been visiting here a few times. The vibe is super nice here, very authentic with a warm, Korean-style ambiance. Most of the food was just okay, not too bad, with some dishes being above average. However, there wasn’t anything particularly memorable. I would come back occasionally just to enjoy the vibe.

It’s a bit of a wait to get into Dan Sung Sa, maybe 30 minutes around 7:30. Once you’re inside, you’re met with a very cool interior, feels like you're in a night market. Very smokey. Service is a little too fast paced. The servers are bustling around and they won't do anything for you unless you manage to flag them down and directly tell them. Not for the faint of heart. Skewers were amazing, the star of the show. You can taste the grill and the high quality ingredients. Menu highlights were the scallops and the kalbi short rib. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the kalbi short rib was tender, fatty, and flavorful. Lowlights were the shrimp and the hanwoo beef. The shrimp was overcooked and a pain to peel while the hanwoo beef was also dry and overcooked. Keep in mind that it is one skewers per order, and for 2 or 3 dollars, they come at a good price! The kimchi pancake was good and crispy, thinner than your typical. Not spicy at all. Wings were amazingly tender and juicy but still with a crispy exterior. They are very light on the batter so you can really enjoy the chicken skin.

My Korean friend brought us to this Korean restaurant and I was shocked to see how small but such a busy restaurant. Servers are nice and my friend knows some of them. The food were delicious, and you will keep ordering if you want more. It’s one of the best meal by skewers. For sure I’ll be coming back here but make sure to come earlier if you don’t want to wait for an hour or two. Parking is the only issue you have to look around on the street to park bcuz Valet is small. But this place is famous per my Korean friend. 👍🏻

A hidden gem in Koreatown, a must visit for authentic Korean experience. They also had a ton of vegetarian options. Tofu, chicken skewers were incredible, so were the potato pancakes!

We did a walk in with a group of 9. The wait took a very long time, about ~2 hours. The staff were friendly, but obviously busy. It became pretty packed with people. I didn’t have much of an appetite and I don’t drink, but I felt adventurous and tried the frogs legs. It was kind of like a meaty chicken but not quite like duck and tastier than I expected. The kimchi pancake was also good, and the ramen was OK. There were order of pork belly and it was a bit dry. The bill turned out to be around $200 so it wasn’t terrible given it was a group of 9 and they got drinks. You purchase per dish, so it’s pretty nice compared to paying an AYCE (all you can eat) price. The atmosphere was very noisy, so it’s not really my kind of scene. But it was fun.

Went here the other night for a friend's Bachelor party. Incredible food! Wish I bought every plate, because every plate was absolutely delicious. That spicy chicken is fire! I'll definitely be coming back soon. Five stars everyday!

Smoky Korean skewer spot with an open kitchen. Note that you need to order alcohol in order to be able to order skewers; otherwise the bigger dishes are still available to order. Came here early on a Saturday around 6pm to beat the line; otherwise, you can wait for quite some time. There’s limited valet parking available otherwise you have to try your luck on the street. Credit cards accepted but they won’t allow you to split bills. We ordered two chicken skewers, galbi, pork belly, fried dumplings, and potato pancakes. They provide some complimentary veggies as well cabbage soup which packed some surprising heat. You can watch the food cook if you’re seated at the counter (which given the windowless room, there isn’t much else to look at). Food was tasty and it was a divey vibe, which was really fun. It felt authentic and is a good place to eat/drink with friends.

Hands down my fav spot in Korea town. Service is super fast, the food comes out steaming hot and I literally haven’t had one singular bad dish here. There are small plates and very affordable. They are also open later than most spots and is the perfect post game after a concert/night out. The skewers are to die for and they have a ton of spicy options for the spice lovers like myself! Always recommend.

top tier korean restaurant in los angeles. walking inside felt like you were being transported into a night market - smoky from the grilling but high energy all around. food was delicious and had reasonable prices (~$2 per skewer), especially recommend the pork belly and short rib skewers. also enjoyed the complimentary cabbage soup. must order drink for the table to order skewers. waited for over an hour but well worth the wait! would come back next time to try more dishes. valet is only $4, much easier than finding street parking. short rib: well marinated, juicy and grilled. pork belly: just the right amount of fat and flavor ttekbokki: traditional korean dish that hit the spot, no complaints and good if craving this dish

Korean style pub with excellent small dishes. Fun place to hang out. Line for a table gets really long starting around 6pm. There's valet parking but the lot is tiny so they might refuse you so keep an eye out for street parking.

A must go in Ktown. Great atmosphere and food can be hit or miss. Service is meh and rude, but it's kinda expected from a really busy korean joint

Dan Sung Sa is the best Korean food I've had in LA so far. Perfect, cozy den-like interior that seems 100's of years old even though it's in a strip mall. The prices are very reasonable with some skewers just $1.99. The seafood pancake is one of the best I've had, not greasy at all. The tteokboki sauce was deep and richly flavored. You won't find some Korean food you may be used to (if you're a non Korean/American) like diy bbq or bi bim bap, so I appreciate their broadening of Korean cuisine exposure. The service is efficient and quick, but don't expect to linger lazily at your table. This is moreso a perfect spot for a dinner before a show, though the vibe may be more relaxed at other times of day (I was there at 7pm on a Thursday and there was a 20 minute wait, fwiw). Bonus, it's across the street from Oakobing and a Boba place if you want a sweet treat after.

Such a fun experience to be able to order the food, watch it be cooked and hear the chatter of everyone’s conversation fill the room. We did wait an hour before being seated, granted it was a Saturday night, lol. I don’t know if the food is worth an hour wait, but the ambience made up for it. It was nice that we weren’t rushed out once seated and were actually able to enjoy our meal :-) The service was the perfect balance of checking in and giving you space to enjoy, which I like . I’ll definitely be coming back, probably on a less busy day lol. As far as accessibility, there is no ramp needed however, the inside is kind of tight, still ADA accessible I’m sure. Plenty of vegetarian options, not sure about vegan . You would definitely enjoy yourself most if you were a meat eater.

Best kept secret In K town. Been going there since 2019 and Everytime and everyone we take there, loves it. Super underground vibe, excellent Korean BBQ & barfood. Nice vegetarian options too;-)

This was a great find! We arrived at 7 pm on a Sunday, did valet parking and had a 15 min wait. The space is really packed so be prepared to get bumped into sometimes. Definitely try the rice wine if you haven’t had it before. Bulgogi was a little watery for our taste but otherwise enjoyed everything we tried. Kids loved the corn cheese and the skewers (rice cake, pork belly and hanwoo beef were the favorites) Low lighting was probably pretty forgiving and added to the ambiance but would have liked to see additional lighting in the restrooms at least.

Everything my friends and I ordered was ridiculously delicious!!! The staff is very nice, attentive, and quick with everything. I whole heartedly recommend this place to any and everyone with taste buds 😋. The only downfall is parking. If you can get in before valet is needed then get there before like 5pm

Amazing Korean food and very amazing experience. They are trying to give you Korean street food experience with even the decor of the restaurant. Food is cheap but good. We ordered multiple dishes and everything was great. Don’t ask them to make anything overly spicy as they can make food really really really spicy.

Great food but dumb requirement for skewers. We came Fri night ~9 ish, was told wait would be 30 min but it was 50 min for two. You can explore K-town meanwhile but be back before you’re called. Plaza has valet parking. Boisterous atmosphere inside. Friendly but busy staff so speak up if you need anything. Food came quickly. Free apps were okay. Was told we HAD to order a drink from the menu to get the skewers which is idiotic to alcohol intolerant & sober people—there’s no non-alcoholic drinks on that menu. Waitress wouldn’t budge. Online orders are probably more flexible. Food itself was great. The Shishamo (small fish) and chicken were well-grilled but lacked the flavor of the marinated meats, so skip those for the beef and pork. Spicy is VERY spicy here. Beef short ribs and pork belly were delicious, as was the seafood pancake—hearty and crispy. Steamed eggs were fine but they’re easy to make at home. The meats are really the focus here. Overall we enjoyed our meal and got a lot for the price. If you don’t mind the wait, the food is worth it.

Must visit place. The 1.99$ menus are only available to order from with 1 drink per table Food was fantastic and quick to the table. cool vibes The valet outside is my least favorite part of coming here

Cool vibes and yummy food. Every dish we ordered tasted amaaaazing. I love the "small brick alley" feel the seating area brought about. It felt so authentic, as if we were dining in Korea. Friendly staffs kept checking on us and offering more water and kimchi. They were very nice and patient with us, as well as their new trainee colleague.

One of my FAVORITE restaurants in K-Town! If you are visiting the area on the weekend night, have a late night out, live in the area, or just want some great eats for a good price Dan Sung Sa is your spot!! They have a great size menu with fun, familiar, and (for some) new types of food. Great also for getting together with friends without breaking the bank. Fun way to try things you would not normally eat and the vibe is really cool. I prefer sitting in the front room or at the bar. The back room seems a bit dark and not as energetic. Picking this spot you will never go wrong!

This bar was great! It has amazing food as well as a good selection of Korean drinks. I would really recommend the tteokbokki (rice cakes in chili sauce) because they don't skimp on the ingredients. Portions were solid for all the food. Service was amazing and super fast. Would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Korean style bar!

What a hidden gem ! The Korean mixed Japanese style yakitori . Reservation is not acceptable. First come first reserve . The waiting time is approximately 40-60mins . The vibe is absolutely amazing Recommend 67. Pork stew soup
