So this place gets one star. I ordered the street corn and the three taco meal, two of the porks both different and the beef one. The corn was disgusting. It was hard barley cooked and literally tasted like nothing. There was no chipotle aioli sauce on it at all. The tacos were a complete waste of money. They had none of the toppings they are supposed to come with. Just meat, onion and cilantro one had some sauce as you can see in the picture. To be fair this seems to be a common theme with restaurants when ordering on doordash, they skimp the orders because obviously thereโ€™s nothing you can do. For meat and a tortilla I could of went to the food truck and payed 3$ for three tacos versus 15$. The meat tasted good but was dry as hell. Will definitely not order here or bother going considering they jip their customers when itโ€™s already over priced.

This place deserves 5 stars and more! We got there and it was really good vibes and the staff was so so helpful, this is one of the best places Iโ€™ve been to in all of US. Thank you for the best service and also the yummiest food!!! If you come down you need to try a mix of tacos they were all so good, cocktails also really good here. They gave us complimentary starter and soft drink too, really great!

Great music, nice ambience and good food. For starters we tried Yuca fries, apart from the standard chips with guacamole ๐Ÿฅ‘. However their brussel sprouts salad starter was most delicious and highly recommended. The Tacos for mains, including the two options they offered for vegetarians - a jackfruit taco and the Vegan Loco. Finished it up with churros and ice cream. The service was very good and will definitely go back again. They have a Tuesday Taco promotion and the happy hours are up to 7 pm so if youโ€™re really hungry, head there during those times.

Nothing terribly bad to say. I enjoyed the strawbiscus margarita.. I did not enjoy the chips. Much rather have fresh/warm salted chips. Personal preference though. Beef taco was good. Ordered them twice. Did not enjoy the pork one. Way too greasey. So much so had to sit there and squeeze it out so that I could eat the rest. The hostess was nice. The guy who brought out the food....mmmm.... Hate to say it but he almost brushed me off. Almost. I asked for some Verde sauce. He automatically blurted out "We don't have any." After he thought about it for a full second he then offered to go check. Miraculously he came back with some. Thought that was weird since there were at least 2 items on the menu that came with Verde sauce on it! Absolutely did not like my waitress.

Overall I give this place 4 stars on Tuesday they have $3 tacos. I got the chicken tinga and jackfruit tacos both were delicious, flavorful and a bit spicy. Taco truck style. They are more of a mezcal bar so I got the house margarita made with mezcal. It was a little weak but flavor wasn't bad. Music was good and atmosphere was nice. Decor was super cute. Def would go back

Food: 9/10 Their jackfruit taco was amazing! I usually donโ€™t like the way theyโ€™re made, but they did something amazing with this one (I think it was the adobo sauce). I wasnโ€™t a fan of the chicken tinga taco, however, Iโ€™m not sure if it was the sauce or the meat but it just tasted off. Their fried yuca was to die for! We even ordered seconds. It didnโ€™t even taste like yuca, I thought it was a fried plantain for a second. We ate it too fast for me to snap a photo of it. Ambience: 10/10 I loved all the decor and how they paid homage to their heritage. Dim lighting was great for setting the mood on a date night. Service: 9/10 Even tho our server was new she was great! She had such an amazing and positive attitude and was so lovable! I think her and the other server were overwhelmed due to the rush and appeared to only be the two of them taking in the whole restaurant (except for the bar which had a bartender), so the other server was a bit short with our server when she asked questions related to the menu and what was available. We had a great time and the food was pretty good! I would recommend for a date night or time out with friends. It is in a bad area tho so be vigilant when youโ€™re in the area.

Good tacos! Had a separate menu to look over what food options are able to come gluten free. The bathroom was really gross and someone had gotten sick, but the staff got on it right away to clean up.

First time I came here, I wasnโ€™t a fan but I went again last night and was positively surprised. We got tacos and margs this time around. The jackfruit taco was my favorite. Asada was really good. Barbacoa was good but not nearly as good as the others.

Really fun and hip place with live music when I was there. The waitress had great drink recommendations and we managed to go on a Tuesday for discounted tacos. I had two beef and two pork and was absolutely stuffed for very cheap. They were a bit greasy but very flavourful.

I had been wanting to go to this place for a while now but was never in the area. Mezcalero DTLA looked empty from the outside but as soon as you open the door you enter a new world and see that there is more than meets the eye. I was in a group of 4 and showed up for dinner around 6:30PM. The host was very nice and sat us quickly. The bar looked great. So many bottles decorating the wall. The colors of the place were very vibrant and inviting. It had a Dia De Muertos feel to it with papel picado hanging and an altar to many Mexican greats. The ambiance was very lively with reggaeton music blaring from speakers and everyone around appearing to have a good time. Our waitress Raquel was fantastic. She explained to us the Taco Tuesday Specials along with the drink specials. I highly recommend the Tinga, Barbacoa and Pork Belly Tacos for food although they have so many other options that sounded amazing. The cocktails I had not only tasted great but looked amazing. I had the Aye Papi Paloma, La Serpiente, and Wanna Be A Chulo. Wanna Be A Chulo was my favorite but I highly recommend all 3. I also had Mezcal tasting and it was served in a copita with sliced oranges and sides of salt and Tajin. The pictures don't do this Mezcalero DTLA justice. I can't wait to be back in the area to come here again. This place by far exceeded my expectations. This is a place that must be experienced.

Great spot. People are awesome. The interior is cozy and comfortable-definitely a casual place. Come as you are. I had the Smoke 'Em If You Got Em cocktail (and some shots-which...are shots), and it was really good (I'm not big into the sweet and sour; I prefer my drinks on the savory/sour side.) They have a range of drinks, and their knowledgeable staff will find one for you. The food was good; it's what I would describe as LA-Mexican Pub Food. There's vegan options, and there's a number of fusion dishes that sit aside authentic Mexican dishes. Ultimately, the menu is wide, welcoming, and accommodating. Overall, for a downtown restaurant with a good vibe, friendly staff, good food in the Mexican/LA style that's pretty affordable; it's a great spot for, at the minimum, a taco and a cocktail.

Umm you guys did it again!!Again!!! Hands down juiciest tacos and Elote ever! My first time gettin the Elote. Was soooo good. That was a meal in itself. Ya'll don't miss a beat with your Guacamole. Don't ever change the recipe. So Savory. Thank you bartenders for creating a Cherry Soda for us even though it's not on the menu! We Appreciate you're great accomplishment! Pepsi with enhancements always a treat ๐Ÿ˜‹ Love your staff. Can't thank you enough. Shout out to our New waitress, I'm sure her name was Elle. Note sure on the spelling. She has fast service. And to another server who stepped in to help our table that night as people packed in the dining area. Food always great here! Had to share here and on yelp so no one misses it ๐Ÿ˜† (because thatโ€™s how big of a fan I am of this place now!) ๐Ÿ™Œโค๏ธ Add Mezcalero to a short list of DTLA stops for group parties, Taco Tuesday, or one of those places you stop in because you're in the area. I just had a post-concert after-party there and the managers made it all happen without a hitch. To Nick, Kremen, AJ, Kumar, and all the Mezcalero staff who worked so hard to make every cocktail so expertly crafted, the mood just right, the energy OFF THE CHARTS, the food so delicious and expedient...THANK YOU. We were all so impressed, you made our night, and

We were visiting from out of town and decided to stop at this place because it looked pretty authentic. It was playing rap music what was a little bit offputting. However, the Decor was very authentic. Then the music changed to a more authentic Hispanic music, which was enjoyable the food was good I had the pork belly skewers, which was tasty, but disappointing for the amount of money that I paid, the waitress wasnโ€™t very friendly but she did the job which was great. There seem to be reserve tables so I bet you may need to get a reservation. We came on a Monday night and so that was surprising for us to see that they had reserve tables, but yet we didnโ€™t see them anybody at the tables.

Here for Happy Hour. Had a bad, then good experience. The staff walking the bar area was awful. Told me in not a nice was to stay seated - yes, like grade school. Moved to the bar and the bartender was awesome. Negative one star for the server and five for the bartender.

The drinks were good. The food was okay. I could have juat got the chips and salsa and drinks and would have been fine. The chicken was really seasoned good though with the burrito. Atmosphere nice low light good music...

Food and drinks are great. Happy hour tacos are tiny, so get more. Only thing I will complain about- reservations are needed so we sat at the front. A table had a reserved sign the entire time we were here, no one showed up. Alsoโ€ฆ Mezcalero type music was not played ๐Ÿ˜…

Was satisfied with every part of this lunch. The staff was friendly, the food was ready quickly, the music was on good, and the food was exceptional. The chips & salsa were fresh and flavorful, the tacos (with fresh made tortillas) were great, my girlfriend loved her cocktail and the churros and horchata ice cream was the perfect dessert.

This is my fave spot in DTLA. I love tequila and i love margaritas, and this place is a hit for them both. I love the cucumber margarita and Oaxacan the Garden. The food is also really great, staff are so sweet and the atmosphere is a vibe. A great spot for a quick drink or a casual mid week (fun and boozy) dinner.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, food (My favorite was the shrimp cevechi) drinks (spicy Margarita). What makes a great experience, is the attitude of the staff. Bartender Cody was amazing!!! ๐Ÿ‘ Terrific attitude, showmanship & entertaining. Had a great time and went back the next day.

On a journey to discover more Mezcalerias in LA, this was a sweet spot. The waitress was great & made sure we were taken cared of. I tried Mex Paloma it was a great mix and not too strong, for my taste ๐Ÿคช would definitely try again & recommend for a chill night out!

The food is amazing!!! Tacos, So good. Fried Brussel sprouts are incredible. I highly recommend trying this place, it will become your new regular. I had the drink called "burnt offerings".... ended up having two. Didn't try the others but the one I ordered was smoky and unique.

  • 5/5 Ron C. 2 years ago on Google
Really enjoyed our visit here. Stumbled on this place and loved it. The drinks were AMAZING (Smoke em if you got em, and Burnt Offerings) and the loaded fries (appetizer) were soo good. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were great along with the wait staff. Definitely going back!

Fantastic and inventive mezcal and tequila based cocktails. Fast and friendly servers too!

  • 4/5 Luis Antonio Garces Z. 2 years ago on Google
The tacos were very tasty, good portions and nicely presented. The server was engaging and attentive. The cocktails were fire! The ambiance was casual and lively. In my opinion, the staff polish and attire isn't professional or appropriate. On a second visit, I had a snarky remark made to me by one of the staff at the door. We decided not to stay. This was a huge contrast from my first visit, in which the server was super welcoming and hospitable.

  • 5/5 Ahmed A. 2 years ago on Google
One of my LA best cocktail spots. The servers are so friendly and nice (Vanessa is amazing) Their Oaxacan Garden and cucumber garnder cocktails are so good. The smokem till you get them one is really new and nice too. Pastor tacos are their best ones.
