I was wearing full goth makeup, my style is gothic and the head secuirty guy (tall black guy with braids in a pony tail) wouldn’t let me in with my dark grey skirt. Then commented on my filler?!? The other security guards looked unsure what to do, as he pushed this to far. He said he was the only one in charge and important there, and should of thought twice on my look. Get a new head of secuirty!!!!! Ladies think twice about coming here with him working there.

Was a little apprehensive because of the previous reviews but we didn’t experience any rude staff. Make sure you review the dress code which they enforce seriously, someone ahead of us was denied access for wearing white shoes. The price of drinks wasn’t bad, they do allow smoking in the live music area which was a huge negative for me because it’s hardly an outdoor area with little ventilation. Otherwise it was a cool vibe and had a great time!

Really cool venue, music, and regular crowd. I only put three stars because of the jackass upstairs who AGGRESSIVELY put his hands on me and yelled in my face without even telling me he worked there - apparently you can’t take photos upstairs to protect the performers, which I totally understand! But I didn’t see your poorly placed signs and I was clearly only filming the crowd below as I was leaning over the balcony. You should have signs on the stairs saying no photos before people get up there, and you DEFINITELY shouldn’t grab a women like that and expect her to not fight you. Seriously! All you had to was point to the sign and I would’ve deleted it right away. Screw you.

One of the few clubs I’ve been to in Los Angeles. I’ve always had lots of fun coming here. Sometimes we’ve come we see people we know. You can smoke in the side room which is inside. The main room is where the bar is. Bartenders are quick to get your drinks. Dress code is strictly enforced which is all black. IDs are strictly enforced. Love this beautiful gothic club. DJ was playing good music 🦇🖤

Large venue. Strong drinks. Two levels. Outdoor (smoking) patio within. And plenty of fascinating patrons with whom to mingle on any given night. Pro-tip: Wear mostly black-colored clothes unless you want to be *that* guy/girl. (Also: bonus points if you've got some tattoos.)

Saw the band Alibis, they were freakin awesome! There were a few issues with the mic going out on the lead singer, but sometimes that happens. Alibis was awesome! The singer has the best voice I've heard live since I saw Alanis Morissette back in her prime! I'll be going back to Bar Sinister every time they book Alibis. Alibis is totally worth the 90 minute drive to downtown!!!!

People recommended me this place but I did not end entering just because how rude was the worker by the door, there is a bald/chubby/short gentleman with beard that was not professional and rude this Saturday night, so I ended not going. Not cool experience at all, the Sinister is definitely losing money and damaging its reputation with this "gentleman"

Overtly pretentious now. I used to come almost every Wednesday and Saturday nights and every holiday but no more. Some huge chick that got bullied in high school didn't let me in because my pants weren't "dark enough.". She had to shine a flashlight on them and have two others study my pants before deciding she didn't like what she saw. The thing is though, I always wear the same type of pants there! I always buy the same color, style and brand but up until now they have never had an issue. I had 7 people meeting me there and some of them had various other issues, so none of us are going back. It's been going down hill anyway so no big loss.

This goth/dark club is an instution for over 20 years. Great music, concerts and shows every saturday. The 80s day are the Blue Mondays. ^_^ They have an inside dancefloir with gogo dancers and an open air atrium with a stage where you can smoke. Sometimes local aetists sell jewelry, accessories and clothing.

Good crowd and atmosphere, but workers are extremely disrespectful and apparently very unhappy with their jobs. I watched the bouncers get physical and bartenders egging on fights with people who were just trying to pay their tab. Unnecessary power trips. My friends (regulars) warned me ahead of time they're like that, but I can't get passed the rude behavior. I know what it's like to deal with the drunk public and have a job you hate, but there's no reason to instigate the way they did. I guess they can rest on their laurels, having cornered the Hollywood goth market.

Bar sinister is amazing! Like minded people dancing to a great mix of dark wave, post punk, industrial, and metal.

This nightclub is seriously hot. The lineup outside looks long, but we were inside within about 10 minutes and there are a lot of attractive people and outfits to look at while you wait. It was $10 at the door and the security were really laid back, unless of course you get in their face like the guy at the end of the night, in which case they still exercised self-restraint. There are lots of people selling beautiful goth and vampire accessories in the walkway entrance, We met lots of really friendly people who said they go there every week, so you can really find a community there. There is a nice stage and sound system with a skilled sound tech, and we saw fun bands, members of which with whom I got to talk after the show amongst the crowd. There is a dance floor, but be careful going there with stilettos like I did because it's not smooth ground. There are dancers and two live entertainment areas. Every area I mentioned has a bar so drinks are very accessible, but watch out, it's LA, so they are really pricey. $6 for a soda water, $12 for an alcoholic beverage. The place closes at 2:30 and is only open on Saturdays.

Miss Bar Sinister like crazy,, I haven’t been back since 2010,, this club is the BOMB 💣,, my first time there was back in 2003 and it was love ❤️ @first site. I usually like to go with a friend or so, but if no one wanted to go, I’d go by myself, that’s how much I love the place. I would go every Saturday, but now I have 3 little angels I must care for. My little angels are growing now, it’s almost time to return ,,,

This is my new favorite bar in Los Angeles. It has the perfect gothic vibe and has a plethora of cool events to go to. Think Gothic but with the high energy of a more typical club scene. What does ends up being is the gothic city dance experience that cyberpunk novels have promised us for years.

First time here and I would really like to return soon. The venue seems straight out of a movie. There is two large rooms and a nice long lit outdoor patio upon entry. Bars on each floor. Get ready to dance all night and meet interesting people. Recommend to come here for Mondays (80's) and Saturdays(goth night)

Love coming here. The atmosphere is great. My biggest complaint is that they close the bathrooms before they close down. They don't even tell you... We had to find out as we were getting ready to leave. Nothing's more irritating then looking for a bathroom when there was one that could have been used.

This place charged me twice on drinks one the original price then they charged me again the next day with what I added with tip. So if you come here make sure to check your bank statements.

This bar was a great place to be inside and outside. Fantastic music, cold beers, and funny people to hang out. A simply great place to dive into a world that doesn’t exist in our business world that much. All you have to do is go there, and I am sure you will feel the same way. This bar is a must!

love it here every time i’ve been but recently i tried going to blue mondays and the security guards were just awful..refused me entry even though i have a valid ID and conveniently didn’t have a scanner after telling me my ID looked “sketchy” :/ definitely ruined my opinion of bar sinister and i probably won’t be returning if those security guards are on duty.

After Kent left this place went downhill fast. Just a bunch of greedy servers and staff who think if you don't tip $20 or more you are the worst person that ever existed even if you only ordered drinks that was under $10. Not to mention the bouncers that try to make people pay them as they leave for "keeping them safe" and if you refuse will physically shove you or hit you and tell you not to return or they will "kick your a$$.". The bouncers seem druck even as this place opened. One was passed out drunk outside a hour after it opened.

Everyone at the bar was fun and resposible. I loved the music/ dj. We were lucky to see the charming Voltaire live. The performance stage is in a private courtyard which means when people are smoking it gets blown away quickly and the air quality was pretty good. We got the table service which was convenient for our party of 5 people.

We stumbled in randomly and had no idea that a wonderful martini bar experience were in for. We met some great locals that gave us all sorts of recommendations. Everyone there was a regular apparently but super welcoming. It's a must visit for expertly made drinks at reasonable cost.

I have been going here for a long time and it is always so FUN! It is my favorite Goth Club! They have hand crafted items for sale at the entrance and they have 3 areas to hang out in. They have the outdoor area which is covered by a big tent canopy, so you can smoke and watch the live bands or shows. Then they have a dance area with gogo dancers and multiple DJ's that rotate throughout the night. Then they have an upstairs area to either watch or volunteer for BDSM play! There are 3 bars with fast service, they always put water out for you to drink and allow patrons to stay indoors long after 2am! My only complaint as is with ALL of the bars in Hollywood, not enough toilets to go around lol. I wish they had just one more restroom area.

If Goth and Industrial Music is your thing this is the spot you want to be. Saturday night's here are awesome. Live shows, decorative colorful people, and merch. The drinks here are really good about average price for Hollywood. The staff was really cool and the bouncers don't mess around. You will keep the walkways clear. LOL.
