Service is good. Food is good. Some items were too salty and others not enough. I think the takeaway here is the style of cooking dumplings with the soup inside. They are impressive. I don’t think I would go back here because the Vegan options weren’t that great for me or filling. Also the wait for a table is ridiculous and they serve as prepared sometimes 1 item at a time. The prices are between reasonable and too pricey for what you get. TIP: Valet parking is validated for 3 hours but if you visit on a weekend then be prepared to wait for a table. My party had 8 people and had to wait 1h 45m to 2hrs to be seated.

The wait was extremely long without a reservation (about one hour and a half and it was a random week night) but although the restaurant was technically closed by the time we got our table they still did not rush us to eat whatsoever and the service was really great. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable on the dishes. The food was so delicious we went a little bit overboard with how many things we tried. But honestly not a bad thing!! We were worried the dishes would be hit or miss as it was our first time and we blindly ordered but no it was all good. The biggest highlights and must re-order for me were definitely the vegan spicy wontons and the chocolate buns for dessert. The vegetarian fried noodles were so good too. And the pickled cucumbers… okay you get the point it was all good.

Background: I'm Taiwanese, and I've been to many DTF locations, including the original location in Taiwan, one in Malaysia, and multiple in the US. The food in Taiwan is slightly better, but the US locations still have excellent quality and service, including this Glendale location. I came with my wife for an early birthday celebration on Friday evening around 5pm. They said 30-45 min wait, but they texted me less than 20 min later to return for check in. The restaurant is pretty small (could be why they're opening a different location at the Galleria across the street), and we had to sit next to the walkway. Our server Ari was super friendly and helpful. Upon request, she brought us a hot water jug along with two cups with lemon slices in them, and a cold water jug with two cups of cold water. We ordered the crab and pork XLB. It was my wife's first time trying it, and she loved it. Her favorite is the chili oil wontons (shrimp and pork), and it did not disappoint. Personally I found it a bit too sweet, but still tasty. The string beans were cooked well and had lots of garlic but were a tad too salty. My favorite thing was the chicken soup appetizer. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, and the soup was rich like my mom makes it. Very simple but tasty soup - I kept coming back to it throughout the meal. The red bean sticky rice dessert is a 粽子 (Chinese tamale) where they remove the leaf for you. It hit the spot. I wish they came by to wipe our table between the main meal and dessert. Overall, I was very happy with dinner. I can't wait until they open the new location in the Glendale Galleria in Fall 2023 - I expect the ambiance to be much nicer. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Alright, alright, alright, my very 1st dim sum review that I'm gonna be posting after having eating dim sum for over 40+ years of my life (Ranging from the East coast, Midwest, West coast), if this doesn't give you a hint about this Din Tai Fung restaurant & their chains, then you're about to really miss out on this big time!! I've yet to favor any Asian chain restaurants in the States for the true authentic Asian tastes & flavorings, till now, that is. Doesn't matter what you order here, you're gonna enjoy the foods (As you can see in the pictures attached below). However, the Soup Dumplings order is a MUST!! What impressed me here is the customer service, friendly, attentive, and professional, which is usually the most lacking in the Asian restaurants. KUDOS to you with your staff to ensure our excellent experiences during our visits!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Wait time was a little long. Food was really good but the portion sizes are very small. I recommend the soup dumplings, green beans and the ribs.

Got lucky- Wait wasn’t long. The location was beautiful. The staff were engaging and friendly. World renowned restaurant. Delicious food with great sauce that comes on a timely manner. atmosphere & ambiance was nice and well put. So there’s a big window where you see the cooks making the dim sums. Truly loved that experience. Great experience. I didn’t know this: but apparently they validate parking for the garage and also for the valet. Just make sure you ask for it before you leave. Reasonably priced for the amount of food. Everything is shareable, so you get many dishes to try as much as you can. We got the jasmine tea to share, it was nice. Overall highly recommend.

The food is so good. Honestly it was worth every dollar per person. We spent about $70 each but for an OVERWHELMING amount of food. We probably over ordered and could even have gotten less. The service was great too. Our server Jason was amazing and even took the time to take out picture.

My daughter was dying to come here when we decided to take a vacation to LA. The Glendale location was so beautiful! The staff was engaging and friendly. The food was AMAZING! You must try the soup dumplings and chocolate balls for dessert. Everything we picked was incredible! Reasonably priced for the amount of food.

I have been in America for a few years now. So far this is the best place for 小笼包 xiao long bao in California. Everything else seems to be more expensive for average flavor. The taste is very similar to the food found in canteens at universities. I'm happy they offer vinegar instead of the usual soy sauce. The place is clean and a little too fancy for something I usually buy walking down the street, but still a nice place to stop by and eat at.

Im gonna be honest. This review has been a long time coming. I have had dumplings in many cities, in many places, and in different countries. The soup dumplings have to be some of the best I have ever had. Most things on their menu is absolutely incredible. You could probably throw a dart onto the menu to order and the food will be amazing. Soup dumplings are a must, but the other dumplings are very good. They have unique dumpling combinations that are tasty. Fried rice and noodles are great as well. The desert dumplings are also unique, such as the chocolate dumplings and taro dumplings. Personally, one of my favorite places in Glendale. My only regret is not taking enough pictures Visit Doctored Reviews on YouTube for live food reviews

I think this is the Din Tai Fung that was relocated to Glendale Galleria. The cucumber is really nice and worth the try. And I love the noodle. Its so delicious. The only thing is that it's packed all the time. Remember to make a reservation before going.

First time here and would love to come back. The wait was a little long, but they text your phone when your table is ready, and give you a 15 min window to arrive. It is right next to the mall so you can easily go walk around and make it back. They offer a traditional menu and also a QR code that has a menu with pictures of the food. Everything is served family style so plenty of food! We started with the pork xiao long bao which were delicious. The server walked us through the process involving the dipping sauce and ginger. We also had string beans with garlic, chicken fried rice, vegetable pork steamed buns, chicken fried noodles, and braised beef tenderloin noodle soup. Everything was delicious, the steamed buns were a little dry but still good. Food is served in stages so you don't get everything at once. I wish we had one back home so I could come again.

Din Tai Fung is a really good dumpling shop. Normally with chains I wouldn't support them in anyway. They've gradually expanded but still keep the same authentic feel that made them great.

The wait was two hours. We definitely had some hunger. Once we got seated the waiter was quick. The orders placed and food was made at a good pace. It’s definitely a place to sit down and eat and enjoy the atmosphere.

So, let me jump to the star of the show... the special house spicy sauce. UNBELIEVABLE! We ordered wontons with it, and ended up keeping the bowl because so much of the sauce was left and we dipped everything else that came to the table in it. SOOO delicious. Both my husband and I know we don't care for steamed dumplings, so we ordered the other menu items which were fantastic. This did not sit well with the server(s), and we were encouraged to try the dumplings because that is what they are known for. So we did. Turns out... my husband and I don't like steamed dumplings. I am sure they are the best of what they are, but when you don't like them, you don't like them. I am always game to try something I think I hate, so it didn't really bother me. Just confirmed to me what I dislike. The servers and staff were wonderful and very helpful because they could tell we had never done this before. So cute. LOVE THIS PLACE!

Very tasty Chinese food! The species are combined very well, and the pork and shrimp are always fresh and juicy. My favorite soup is "hot and sour soup" and I love dumplings. It's always very busy here so consider at least 30-1:30 hour wait time

Rachel recommended the sesame sauce noodles and it was sooo bomb! My friend knew other items to order and everything else tasted amazing too. Rachel was attentive, knew when to refill and came at the perfect time when I needed anything. Definitely coming back!!

Customer service to the max! We got a reservation weeks in advance and weren’t disappointed with the highly anticipated meal. The food is delicious and the unique experience makes it even better. Soup dumplings lived up to the hype. You also have to try the chocolate dessert dumplings! Best way to end the night.

If you have time to spear and aren't in a hurry this a must. The food is delicious!! The also have this honey lemon tea which is amazing. The down side is the wait time. So, make reservations if you're in a hurry

This place is worth the wait! Some of the best dumplings I have ever had. Each plate averages out to be about $15. Each dumpling plate has ten dumplings on it. I got the chicken dumplings and they were by far my favorite. The server showed us how to make our own mix of dipping sauce with the the vinegar and soy sauce. We also got the noodles with chicken and the fried rice dishes are so good. I threw in the broccoli and garlic to mix it up and have some vegetables. This location is pretty new as they moved into here with a bigger location. You can see them making the dumplings from the window which is fun.

First time trying out this location for brunch: I have to say that it was worth the drive! :) Staff were super friendly at all times! From the time they greeted us upon arriving and throughout our meal, we were always greeted with genuine smiles and never rushed to hurry up and eat and even though everyone knew this place always gets long lines and wait if you just come up without planning ahead. Since we had a reservation for brunch (booked 2 weeks in advance) we were seated right away and our whole party was there on time. The restaurant has two sides (larger dining room which is more crowded and loud but you get a cool view of the tree decor indoors) and the smaller side (which is more cozy and not as loud). There’s also an outdoor patio but that was closed off when we went so nobody sat outside probably because of the weather. I really appreciated that all the staff AND cooks/preparers (which you can see through the windows outside of the restaurant) were all wearing masks!! Thank you for keeping us safe :) Food was absolutely delicious and presentation is on point— this is why quality is important at this place. ***** FOOD ***** Ordered the following and loved it all: - appetizer: Sweet & Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs - Chicken Fried Rice - chicken was smooth and delicious; rice not overly salty - Sesame Noodles - slightly spicy but delicious with peanuts crushed on top - Spicy Wontons: slight kick but not too spicy- yummy - Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao: delicious - Kimchi & Kurobuta Pork Dumplings: delicious - String beans: soooo glad they’re not crazy oily like the usual Chinatown places - they’re crunchy and good! - Dessert: Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao - too chocolatey for my liking so next time I’ll definitely try the other one our server recommended (sesame) - Drinks: Sea salt cream green tea - loved it *** FYI - Temperature in the restaurant can be pretty chilly and food can get cold really fast so eat quick! Restrooms: - clean and well maintained— and water for the hand wash is WARM which during winter time it is MUCH appreciated Parking: - if you’re going to shop around, free parking is best found at the G2 Galleria parking garage and just walk across the street - it is free and no tickets are needed and no validation is required.

Been meaning to try this place for a while, as I've heard many good things. It surpassed my expectations! The Xiao Long Bao were so flavorful and juicy, delicious hot soup held together by a thin but stable dumpling. The wait staff was very friendly, and my server was excited to explain the menu and the proper way to eat a soup dumpling. I'll definitely come back!

Of course I got influenced from all over social media but after this for sure I will never stop looking for a din tai fung location everywhere I go… Everything was great, the items we ordered were cooked to perfection and the flavors were on point all the way! I had an amazing culinary experience at this location particularly!

I'm not sure if it is their standard to serve dumplings upside down, but of all the chinese restaurants I've been to all over the world, this presentation is the most peculiar. Order delivery is very slow, perhaps the servers were mostly new. I had to cancel the bao we ordered that never came. They sent me an email saying I'd get a $15 e-gift card for the experience, but when I received it, it was only for $10. That was my experience. I hope they improve on their efficency and attention to detail.
