It is a divine plate of food. Healthiest, freshest, vegan food you can get in the area. I feel energized and fueled after eating this as one should after having a meal! The place is also clean and sanitized as per the pandemic policy. Thank you 🙏

Great restaurant in a serene environment. Located right next to the Hare Krishna temple, this 100% vegetarian restaurant serves an all-you can eat buffet of healthy food such as salad, pasta/spaghetti, samosas, soup, rice and dal, and more. Post COVID they changed it from self-serve to being served, but it's still the same nutritious and delicious food as always. Highly recommended, Hare Krishna!

Hare Krishna. Let me discuss the positives….incredible interior change. The people that made the new wooden tables are to be commended…beautiful work. My first experience with a Krishna Feast was on Kauai in 1971 as a teenager. We had abundant portions and we found someplace to sit whether it was a rock or on the ground….it wasn’t fancy. I like the pricing and weighing policy but it cuts out going back for seconds. Govinda’s has to make money in this horrible business climate. So 2 types of rice, beets, salad, potato salad and that great dessert. Where the heck is the bread and pasta , sunflower seeds, corn? Those great salad dressings. Why cut all that? I was left wanting more. Before I think I paid $ 7.50/senior discount and all you could eat (I only went back in the day for just a few things…small portions, that wouldn’t break the bank). So it cost $ 8.13 today for about 70% of the portion I used to get. And where are all the lunchtime people of all types that used to come in at lunchtime? There was a somberness and sadness in the air. Even the music and singing coming from the service in the temple had an air of sadness. Krishna music/singing always had an up quality. The people serving were very polite and attentive. I’ll give it about a month and try it again. I’m hoping to give it 5 stars next time. Thank you.

Best. Vegan. Spot. I can't recommend this place more, I've been going for 3 years, food is fresh and healthy, the staff is friendly, and the prices are incredible. If you like healthy food on a budget Please try this place out!

A total safe haven for plant-based people. Feels like a commune. No frills vegan Indian restaurant with all-you-can-eat buffet for $8. Tons of veggies, leafy greens and gluten free foods. We dined in due to heavy rain. Can't wait to sit on their front patio and enjoy their baked goods with a beverage.

This review is for the previous version of the buffet bar and eating atmosphere. It was all amazing, great, delicious, uplifting, beautiful, peaceful. I don't really go to restaurants, but Govinda's was a weekly affair. It was social, nutritious, affordable, and i was always proud to bring someone visiting L.A. I wonder what it would take from the community of patrons to bring it all back to its former glory ?

Govindas grew richer this pandemic summer with everything remodeled even the prices as well the quantity. Very clean organized cult-ISKCON worlwide reputed. Their yellow lentil (dal) was superb today. Somehow I missed the previous remembered Govindas with generous smiles and invitations including (devotees)too.

Now it's expensive much less people. Before it was lively. Need bigger portions for the price. Then there is a charge per chapati and samosa plus the weight. The soup was absolutely delicious never before had I ever tasted that in any temple. Overall the food quality is better than the Buffet before. Less choices however. They still honor the Meal cards you just have to pay a few dollars more.

Beyond! The vegetarian food at its finest! Literally. It’s not the 8$ all u can eat buffet anymore but the food is still incredible and honestly, I prefer food behind glass, way more sanitary. I don’t know how people can complain about 6.50 a pound of food which is alot! It has Indian, salad, and other vegan options from different types of cuisine. Im so grateful to return here. Hari Bol

A friend brought me here today and I am so happy. The food was absolutely delicious. You can feel the love and devotion in the food and in the building. I look forward to being a regular!

When I walked through the door, it was like walking into the spiritual world. The first bite of holy food sent me into a whirlwind of wild bliss that emanated from my heart with each and every bite. It was quite emotional to say the least. The devotees were so kind and courteous. Hare Krishna.

The food is still delicious, but long gone are the buffet and the sandwich bar. It's by the pound and to go only, or you could eat outside.

I've only been here once, a Saturday afternoon after a Bikram Yoga class at their home headquarters on La Cienega The food was delicious and the atmosphere welcoming and cozy. The young lady at the register was dressed in full Hare Krishna and a little quiet and timid, but very nice.

Excellent delicious, fresh, healthy vegetarian food served in a highly uplifting atmosphere. Nice people, and fantastic location next to the Krishna temple. We also went to the Bhagavad Gita museum next door and thought that was fabulous. Will definitely return the next time we are in LA!

It's my first time back since they remodeled. There's no more buffet, you pay $6.50 per lb and it actually isn't bad at all. The salad was so good, as well as the other items.

I give 3 stars because the guy who served me food was rude to me. I heard that he whispered to his friend when i choosed big plate. He said that plate usually for men. Suddenly I felt not good with the taste, and yes the rice is too salty. Maybe he think that I didn’t understand with English. Please be gentle with customer especially a servant from Krishna

Always best and healthy food, maintained very neat and clean. Devotees who serve the food are very pleasant and clam. Over all very very good experience

In my opinion this place has gone way downhill. Four times in a row I have come to eat lunch when they are supposed to be open at 11:30 and end up standing around for 20 minutes waiting for them to open while the people behind the counter ignore me. I used to really enjoy coming here before the remodel a couple of years back. The problem is, I don't have time to wait on them anymore so I had to leave today before I even ordered lunch. I don't think I'll be going back. I want to love Govinda's. I love Krsna. I love the Hare Krishna movement. I love chanting at the temple next door. But Govinda's, not so much. Not anymore.

Humble $8 all you can eat vegan/vegetarian Indian buffet inside a quiet and spiritual environment. The food is phenomenal. I grew up on this stuff. Brings me back. 5 stars

My lunch was absolutely divine. This is an experience cafe. If you want to raise your vibrations in the heavenly and transcendental atmosphere of an ancient tradition, relax and enjoy your food. Everything was so delicious that I went for an extra serving of halva, and I bought the rest of samosas to take home.

One of the best places to eat in Los Angeles. Absolutely pure vegetarian with lovely varieties. The food is fresh and delicious here, both stomach and pocket friendly and it is Satvik. Every time I see different menu item there. Whenever I am in LA, I visit this place.

This place is probably the best place in town for eating not only because the food tastes very good but also because the food is spiritual, the food is spiritual because it is first offered to God Krishna and then it is offered to the rest of the people so when the people are eating are actually the remnants of God which is so good for body and mind so every time I come to this place to eat I am very happy thank you
