This is a good Tocaya location, and if you come in Taco Tuesday, each taco is only $2! It unfortunately located in an odd area with not much parking other than street parking. However as always, they have great organic taco options from vegan to vegetarian to omnivorous! The chips were also good too here. I would come back, or try out any other Tocaya location.

Came from out of town to visit Venice Beach and wanted Mexican food. This place stood out to me. No regrets. The margarita tasted so fresh and the burrito was solid. I have a good feeling everything on the menu is tasty. I’d definitely come back. The restrooms are outside the restaurant. Kind of strange but works. The staff was nice and helpful. Cute ambiance.

Great service and great vegan options. I got the 2 taco, 1 side and a marg combo. $20 with a 20% tip. Can't beat it. True gem.

We went there based on the reviews. However, we were very disappointed. Food tastiness gets 3 or 4 out of 5. Service get 3 Ambiance 2 Food quantity 1 or 2. You must eat before coming here!! No free chips and salsa here, no refillable drinks. Price 1 or 2. I can get more tasty Mexican food, larger quantity at half the price in 100 other places in LA. I totally do not recommend.

Very nice mexican food with some interesting flavour combinations. Beware the tacos are on the smaller side, order at least 3 or 4 if you're hungry!

Cute and hip taco shop off of Venice beach. Passion fruit margarita is a little on the sweet side but delicious. Guacamole comes with plantain chips and pomegranate, which is unique. Shrimp taco is nice and spicy.

Honestly, why anyone eats the garbage along the beach when this little gem is just a couple minute walk away, is beyond me. Prices were very reasonable. Options for vegans and meat eaters alike. Everything was fresh and wonderful. Staff was patient and kind given our indecisiveness, and offered recommendations. Nice, clean place to have a bite to eat when family visits from out of town and wants to "see Venice Beach" (to each their own, just not my scene). I got the tofu burrito, family got chicken tinga burritos and cauliflower rice bowls. Guac was tasty! As was the margarita and beverage options. If you have to go to Venice or are passing through, at least check this place out. So much better than anything on the boardwalk.

We stopped by this place for taco 🌮 takeout before heading to the airport. I must say that the service was very quick, and the staff was very helpful in making choices. We ordered both the vegan and meat samplers, and both were delicious! Highly recommended.

5 out of 5! Among the few places in the US that the tacos taste like legit tacos. The tortillas are delicious, the ingredients. The service was fast and nice. Prices are great. The location of this one in particular is great. You can park at venice beach public parking for 9 usd per day. And is at walking distance from there. I loved it! It was so good that first I just ordered 3 tacos. And then I ordered 3 more. On the tables they have a QR where you can order online to eat there. And in that way you can customize a little bit more your taco. They also have vegan options.

Woweeee!!! All I gotta say is FISH TACOS. A 10/10 must for the fish tacos. Battered and GLUTEN FREE. Which is a big one for me. Hard to find fried and gluten free. One of the best fish tacos I’ve had. I’ve had probably everything on this menu and I recommend the playa chicken bowl and the mushroom jalapeño steak quesadillas. But I’m gonna come back soon for those fish tacos. Chips and salsa, guac, and street corn are all incredible sides too. Try them all! Love this place. Great service and friendly. Strawberry basil lemonade is my personal favorite and a go to as well.

Excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price. Ordered a cilantro verde with vegan everything and mushroom and jalapeno quesalita vegan as well. Portions weren't overly filling and the quality was top notch. Service was very good as well. Would highly recommend!

FOOD SAFETY ALERT!!!!! I ordered through postmates today and found a DEAD, cockroach-looking BUG at the bottom of the plantain chip container (see picture). WATCH OUT and inspect your food from here first!!!

Went to get some acqua fresca and the menu was so reasonable and looked so yummy, I just couldn't resist. Good thing I didn't, I had two tacos and a side of Guacamole, well it was AMAZING! Let me just say it's a great concept with vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free basis tacos. You can build on it and add some meat/cheeses. What's crazy is that I took what was recommended for the taco's meat and cheese and what a great combo. I had the PIÑA PASTOR with TURKEY PICANTE + QUESO COTIJA and the Baja with MAHI MAHI + COTIJA CHEESE. They were delicious and just spicy enough to be good (not too hot). But what surprised me the most was the nice counter waiter and his recommendations. I was so happy he told me to go with the Guacamole and to try the plantain chips, it was great. Would recommend anyone to just go there and try it. I will definitely continue going to this great modern Mexican restaurant!

Small and trendy place for counter-order Mexican food (and drinks). The food was good and decently priced. Service left a little to be desired, especially as they forgot about the margarita I ordered and I had to get back up a couple times to basically demand it. There's a small parking lot on site.

Tons of vegan options! We placed a to-go order and food was ready within 10min. The adobe tofu was super flavorful. Indoor and outdoor dining is closed, but there are a lot of seating options along the boardwalk if you want to enjoy your meal at the beach.

Always grateful for vegan options! Especially when the food is as delicious as it looks in pictures🙌 I liked the convenience of choosing your own table, scanning the QR code and ordering right from your phone. We ordered a vegan Fajita Burrito, a Vegan quesadilla with the vegan chicken and vegan Chipotle jack cheese, chips and guac. Our server Ray was nice enough to bring us water because we didn't see it on the menu. We also accidentally ordered a chicken quesadilla instead of the vegan one, and he was able to bring us the vegan one. Brought us more chips for our guac while we waited for the vegan quesadilla. Really enjoyed our experience here, the food was delicious, definitely recommend! You do have to pay for each salsa you add, so I recommend the Arbol Salsa and the Vegan Chipotle Crema!

Hands down, the best vegan tacos I ever had! Drinks were amazing as well. Very friendly staff. Loved it so much I went there twice during my vacation!

I stumbled upon this place after walking at Venice Beach and wanted to check it out after hearing good things from a friend who regularly orders their catering. The staff were so friendly and offered great suggestions. I was really impressed with the vegan and vegetarian options and they tasted great! I also appreciated the types of drinks they offered, especially the non-alcoholic beers. I will definitely be back

My wife and I recently ordered takeout from Tocaya Modern Mexican in Venice Beach and we were absolutely blown away by how delicious everything was. First of all, the ordering process was quick and easy. We placed our order online and it was ready for pickup in no time. When we got home and opened up the bags, we were immediately struck by how fresh everything looked. I ordered the burrito, nachos, and churros, and they were all absolutely delicious. Each bite was bursting with flavor and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. My wife had the quesadillas, which she devoured before we could even take a photo of it, but she loved it! We also ordered a couple of sides and a salad, and each dish was equally as impressive. The churros were particularly outstanding, with a crispy exterior and soft, fluffy interior. We will definitely be ordering those again. The soup we ordered was a little spicy for our taste, but VERY flavorful. Overall, we were thrilled with our experience at Tocaya Modern Mexican. The food was delicious, fresh, and flavorful, and the entire ordering process was quick and easy. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for high-quality, delicious Mexican food in Venice Beach. Update 10/01/2023: Very lovely service in-person, with very clean dining areas inside and outside. We were still very pleased with the freshness and the kindness that the staff gave us. Tocaya was fresh, fast, and delicious. With tons of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, everyone can find something to love here. It’s a casual sit down restaurant known for creative tacos, bowls, and burritos. I had the grilled pineapple pastor bowl with achiote chicken and vegan mozzarella. Pickled onions and pineapple offered the perfect acidity to complement the beans and rice. The guacamole was flavorful and light. The chicken was well cooked and juicy. I was also impressed with the serving size. My friend ordered the taco trio, which she says was “SOOO GOOD!” This was a meal that left us feeling satisfied and energized. Tocaya also offered a variety of inventive, tropical-inspired cocktails that I did not try, but look incredible. Shoutout to Jojo for her excellent service! Highly recommend Tocaya for your next lunch stop.

Okay I’m back for redemption. I left a 3 star reviews last time but I came twice since and it was great! The taco Tuesday deal is worth it. It is affordable and delicious. The nachos were fresh and the staff super nice!

This place is really nice and inviting. I just ate some amazing Carne Asada Tacos from there. I will definitely be going back. I called and asked if they had curbside pickup and they don’t. But one of the team members their by the name of Chris said if they were busy they would be able to accommodate. So as you see their willingness to accommodate patrons is another plus. Thank You Tocaya!

Visited on Cinco de Mayo and they had specials for beverages on display in a few spots. It was our first time as we were visiting from the East Coast and the person who took our order at the counter was nice and spent the necessary time explaining a bit about how their menu worked- we got the strawberry margaritas (which were excellent) as well as the Taco Trio and Street Corn - all had some heat but it was well balanced and very tasty! Highly recommend

I would say it is a good restaurant for takeout, but the restaurant lacked ambiance for dining in. I ordered a set of 3 tacos which was not bad, but spicy. The guacamole tasted well but didn’t have pomegranate as I saw in other reviews. It only had roasted seeds. They showed ceviche in their menu on the website, but when I asked for it, they didn’t have it in the menu in the restaurant. They should update the menu in the website. The people were nice but the service was not that fast.

Love this place! Food is yummy & fresh. Nice ice water with lime freely available. Chicken soup is def my favourite! ♡ favourite place in Venice beach! Great deal for Margaritas during happy hour!

During or after soothing time in Vience beach, u cramp for good food and if it comes to Mexican food try out Tocaya Organic for burger, tacos, burrito, bowls and salad. I bet you wont disappoint with food taste and friendly environment. Interior is classy. Limited sitting capacity because of covid restriction. But open for pickup facility along with dine in. Location is prime and hence might u face parking issues as well.

Good place for a bite but missing some flavor. There's no salsa on the birria tacos and they needed some pep. Ordered the question and chips and they were tasty. My friend had one of each of the others and it's like it was missing something to complete it. The margaritas were great.

Tocaya Organica consistently has great tasting food and drinks. This location is on par with the other Tocaya's I've frequented. Good service as well. The street parking around the area is free, but be sure to observe the signs.
