Excellent restaurant. Great food. Good vibe and ambiance, and a lively crowd. Service was decent. Completely vegan restaurant with a good variety of food choices. It’s in a very busy area so parking is difficult to find, at least close to the restaurant. Drinks are good but a bit limited in choices as they keep everything in house. I would recommend this place.

The only reason for my low rating was the hostess, Emma. If I had not looked forward to eating here I would have left. She helped two other groups before helping me. When she saw a “regular” person she made sure to let me know that I would have to leave by 6pm. Why she had to say that I don’t know. Our waitress, Phoenix, was great and the bus boy was super sweet. The food was delicious but Emma ruined the whole experience. Emma was unfortunately very pretentious hopefully no one will have this horrible experience!

I went here for my birthday dinner and it was so delicious!! I have never tasted vegan food so great…like EVER. The Tortilla Soup is the one of my favorites on the menu as well!! If your looking for dessert, one of my other favorites is the gluten free brownie as well as the dairy free vanilla ice cream. SO YUM. The outdoor eating area is so beautiful (as well as the indoor). The service here is also great!

Delicious all-vegan Mexican food! What's not to love? Can be a little pricey, but we liked everything we ate and would definitely come back. We managed to catch happy hour on a Tuesday, and got a great deal on nachos, and a taco flight which came with their house margarita. Best margarita I've had!

My family made a reservation for my husband’s birthday, requesting outdoor seating and specifying that we’ll be celebrating a birthday. The hostess led us to a table right behind where the waiting staff bussed the dirty dishes. Was the restaurant packed? No. There were only about 5 parties and most the the tables were unoccupied. I know from experience that this is a racist thing restaurant staffs do. When we requested a different table, the hostess was very reluctant to do so. It gets better from there. When we finished our appetizers, the staff picked up our used cutlery from the plates and placed them directly on the table, smearing food everywhere. They did not wipe the table for us afterwards. When we were finished with our mains dishes they started clearing the table even before we asked for the bill. We received my husband's birthday ice cream and cookies with a completely clear table with no cutlery to share with. That sad table we were initially led to remained empty even when the restaurant was eventually filled up.

We visited Gracias Madre for dinner and had a good time. We had made dinner reservations in advance as it gets quite busy. All the staff including the waitress and servers were very friendly whenever we interacted with them. The menu had a lot to choose from and it was nice to not have any restrictions since everything on the menu is vegan. To start, we ordered the gorditas to share and it was pretty good. For mains, we had the enchiladas verdes and potato pimiento flautas. Both dishes were delicious but we needed a little extra spice, so we requested some hot sauce on the side which our waitress brought for us. For drinks, we had a horchata and a passion fruit kombucha. Overall, everything was great but a little on the pricey side. I would definitely like to try some other things on the menu if I’m ever back.

Great vegan food, service, and atmosphere. We ordered wet burrito and tacos. Everyone was happy with their food. Drinks are also very good here. I ordered horchata. The restaurant has a good vibe. The restroom was clean. Staff were nice and helpful. Will definitely dine here again.

Awesome vegan place in WeHo! The ambience is amazing, 10/10 for the service, great menu! Appetizers: Loved the crab cakes and the nachos are a dream come true! Main course: Jackfruit tacos are a must try! Enchiladas were pretty good too! Dessert : Tres leches were so good, might go back just to get dessert too 😅 Highly recommended! Pro tip: get a reservation in advance! They’re usually all full.

Super cute inside. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Really loved the soup, Brussels sprouts, and the nachos. The eggplant torta had good flavor but I felt like the contents were lacking and it ended up being too bready.

Who knew there can be delicious VEGAN/VEGETARIAN mexican food?! Honestly, I wasn’t sure if this place was going to be good, but everything we ordered was amazing. Came on a taco Tuesday and ordered their Tuesday special tacos, grilled Mexican corn and a mixed veggie bowl. Staff are friendly and very attentive. If you are lucky, you might even spot famous people eating here too!

Lively, fun atmosphere with a nice indoor/outdoor flow and patio. It’s good for happy hour, meeting friends, dates or dining solo at the bar. Overall many dishes are bland. The crab cakes’ texture is good but under seasoned. The Potato pimento flautas do not include vegan cheese in the filling (which is also under seasoned) and there’s only a dab of guacamole served on top of the flautas. Excellent, top-notch service!

Mexican vegan dining. I was surprised by the vegan quality of the food - could not even tell it was vegan cheese for example. The terrace is lovely, liked the vibe. I recommend the corn as a starter and the burrito as an entree. Cocktails are fun and delicious. Prices are high.

I CONFESS I am a meat eater. And I have no natural inclinations toward vegetarian food. HOWEVER i still really enjoyed my experience here. Love the al fresco dining, great cocktails, chips and guac were ON POINT. And amazing enchiladas. Wouldn’t mind coming here to eat a little cleaner once in a while 😛

This message is for Raquelle (hostess), Danny (server), and the other workers who made our night flawless: Wow. We were greeted enthusiastically by Raquelle who was a bright, charismatic light and who sincerely ‘whooed!’ when she found us a better table (without us even asking for a better table!) We were then immediately greeted by Danny who was attentive, personable and efficient, and as excited about our food choices as we were. The moment my water was empty someone was there to pour another glass. As soon as we finished our food, our table was cleared. When i asked for the check it was at our table in under a minute. Thank you everyone for the incredible night. What an amazing team!

Great atmosphere and vibe. The enchiladas plate was average but the friends that ordered the tacos said it was good. The tres leches dessert was also good.

I knew I had to come here when a meat-eating friend recommended it. Some of the BEST vegan Mexican food I have ever had. Came here for brunch and the cocktail menu/ tequila options were truly a wow factor. Some truly hidden gems if you’re into it! Started with the chips and guacamole (naturally), and the cob corn. Excellent choices but I would highly recommend just eating off the cob instead of trying to cut into it.. you’ll lose a cob or two to the floor. Suggested to the kitchen they add picks by oh well. Wet Burrito was epic- made with bbq jackfruit which genuinely tasted like meat and eerie consistency. The whole brunch was something to remember. Also defo make a resso for patio- it’s beautiful out there, although the decor on the inside is still really airy and light.

The food, atmosphere, drinks were all great. We made a reservation and our table was given to us right on time. Just don’t look at the prices when you order as you are in one of the expensive blocks in West Hollywood so it makes total sense you r going to be paying for the real estate. As a speciality restaurant, it does a good job of satisfying meat eaters. 5 star

A vegan’s paradise. Food was amazing, ambiance was perfection. Good outdoor seating. Amazing cocktail selections, esp if you love tequila. One of the staff members was a little unnecessarily salty about masks when we were just trying to take a photo, so I knocked one star for that (I get that we should’ve been wearing them, but it could’ve been handled differently). Other than that, perfection.

Its a nice place to spend some time. Parking is a nightmare though, so be warned. Food was great although I found it heavy. After our starter we barley finished our burrito and salad. Personally i would go there for drinks and a snack or coffee and a sweet maybe. Service was slow and I didn't feel the place was that busy. Maybe short staffed?

Very good food, but not amazing. We found that the food was a bit bland and lacking in flavour. Their sparkling water is incredible though! Service was excellent, the food arrived quickly, the location is great, and the restaurant has a very cool vibe. I suggest trying to get a table outside as the patio is beautiful!

Gracias Madre Review: A Gourmet's Guide to Vegan Mexican Cuisine in Los Angeles. Gracias! There's something about the sun-drenched streets of Los Angeles that always heightens my culinary expectations. As I made my way to Gracias Madre, a well-acclaimed vegan Mexican restaurant in the heart of the city, my anticipation was a blend of curiosity and excitement. Known for its plant-based cuisine that promises both innovation and tradition, Gracias Madre had long been on my list of must-visit culinary destinations. Upon arriving, the restaurant's ambiance struck a chord with me instantly. The space was a harmonious blend of California cool and Mexican warmth, with vibrant, earthy tones and lush greenery creating an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The outdoor patio, bathed in the golden hues of the L.A. sunset, was particularly alluring, promising a dining experience that was both al fresco and intimate. As a gourmet foodie with a deep appreciation for wine, the first thing I gravitated towards was their wine list. Gracias Madre's commitment to organic and biodynamic wines was impressive. I chose a crisp, organic white wine that, as I soon discovered, paired beautifully with the bold flavors of Mexican cuisine. The culinary journey began with their famed guacamole, served with house-made corn tortillas. The guacamole was a bright, zesty affair, with just the right amount of cilantro and lime to elevate the creamy richness of the avocado. It was a simple dish, yet executed with a level of finesse that set the stage for the meal to come. Moving on to the entrees, the Jackfruit Tacos caught my eye. Jackfruit, a unique choice for a meat substitute, was marinated and cooked to such perfection that it mimicked the texture and flavor of pulled pork astonishingly well. Topped with pickled cabbage, cashew crema, and spicy salsa, each taco was a revelation of flavors and textures – a true testament to the culinary creativity at Gracias Madre. Another standout dish was the Cauliflower Fajitas. The cauliflower was roasted to a smoky tenderness, served alongside peppers, onions, and house-made tortillas. The dish was accompanied by a selection of vegan sides that were flavorful and hearty, defying the common misconception that plant-based cuisine lacks depth and satisfaction. Throughout the meal, the wine I had chosen proved to be an ideal companion, its acidity and freshness cutting through the richness of the dishes and enhancing their intricate flavors. As the evening progressed, I engaged in conversations with the staff who were not only knowledgeable about their menu but also passionate about their philosophy of sustainable, plant-based eating. Their enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. Dessert was a delightful surprise. The chocolate cake, rich and moist, was served with a scoop of coconut-based vanilla ice cream. It was a dish that could easily rival any traditional dessert in flavor and texture, a fitting end to a meal that had been full of surprises. Leaving Gracias Madre, I was not only satisfied in a culinary sense but also deeply inspired. The restaurant had not only met my expectations as a gourmet foodie and wine lover but had also broadened my perspective on the potential of plant-based cuisine. It was a dining experience that resonated with me on many levels – the innovative dishes, the commitment to sustainability, and the warm, inviting atmosphere had all come together to create an evening that was as delightful as it was enlightening.

Great atmosphere for a nice dinner with friends on the patio. Note this is a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. I got the mushroom fajitas which were pretty underwhelming to be honest. The cocktails are nice and strong. That’s probably because you’re in WeHo!

This place has the best Chinese food I've ever had! My wife and I go there often! The staff is friendly and very helpful. The menu is full of great Chinese Cuisine & they also have Macaroons for dessert. I enjoy the Mongolian beef and sweet and sour pork. My spouse enjoys the cashew chicken. They have dine-in or to-go service. Lunch and dinner portions available. Tell em The Kevorkian's sent you...

Was always pretty good with a chic environment. A must for vegan entertaining. They’ve maintained the quality and have a really nice patio especially in the times of COVID. One disappointment is the menu seems to have shrunk now with less options than I remember. Hopefully they will increase capacity as times get back to normal.

This used to be one of my favorite spots to eat, I am Hispanic and the food used to be so authentic with traditional flavors. Now there’s a new chef with a new menu and the food is so disappointing, the black beans aren’t puréed anymore, the chips taste terrible, I had some that were soggy, the guacamole has lost its authenticity and the food is just bad. The service is good and the manager Charlie is a nice guy but I, my friends and family will not be returning to this location. The good news is the Newport Beach location still serves the old menu and the food is fabulous!

Stopped in for a Sunday brunch and had a wonderful experience. The menu is packed with great vegan options. We had the jackfruit lettuce cups. Yum. The corn muffins. Yum. The potato taquitos. Triple yum! It would be worth driving from Long Beach to WeHo just for more. I also ordered a Paloma with Tajin rim. It was a little warm, so we probably should have stayed inside, but hey, worse things than sitting on the patio on a beautiful SoCal summer day. I will go back! Next time will be for supper. This place is cozy, warm, and the people are friendly.

What a great spot! When I originally looked at their menu online I didn't even realize it was a vegan spot. I loved the decor of the place and the outdoor patio is beautiful. The food is incredible, and could satisfy even the biggest regular meat eater. We had the queso (so good), the potato flautas, and the churros. Service was lovely. 100% would go back again.

Excellent vegan food, beautiful ambiance. Got their potato taquitos, cauliflower starter and coconut tres milk leches. Cauliflower and taquitos were excellent. But, tres leches didn't really taste like tres leches as the milk felt watery and tasted more like a coconut muffin. It was delicious but not really a tres leches cake. The other dishes and ambiance made it up to us.

Gracias Madre is an excellent high-end vegan mexican restaurant. The vibe on a Saturday night was bustling, with a pretty crowded bar area in the back/outside. I ordered the Dine LA menu, and had Watermelon Agua Fresca, Gorditas, and the Wet Burrito. The Guacamole, as simple as it was, was extremely fresh and excellent! The Gorditas were good and had a strong aftertaste of corn. The Wet Burrito was prepare well and the cashew cheese tasted great, although by the time we got the main course I was pretty full from the starter and chips! The brownie was also tasty, with coconut whip topping and a hint of cinnamon in the chocolate. I would highly recommend Gracias Madre whether you come for Dine LA or just order from the regular menu!

The food was really good. I wouldn’t say it was better than good ol mexican food (non vegan) but it was a good substitute!

Wow, wow, wow. What a place! I’m not plant-based but wanted to eat at Gracias Madre because there is so much hype about the place. And it’s well deserved! The food is stunning to look at and super tasty. The staff is very friendly and know the menu so well. The decor is gorgeous. I dropped in for an early lunch before the busy period without a reservation. I had the USD25 fixed menu and there is much to choose from. The heart of palm ceviche is sensational and rivals any fish ceviche I have tried. Fresh, tangy and it has a bite to it. The Gordita with the oyster mushroom chicharron is a winner. 10/10 experience - the service and the food. Highly recommend 🌮

  • 2/5 Lydia C. 9 months ago on Google
Food was mediocre. I’d only go if I was vegan and had no other options Everything about the restaurant itself really nice however, the food was mediocre and in my opinion, extremely overpriced for what it is. The place is beautiful, and the service is good. If you’re there, get the queso fundido.

Really cool and best dine-ins around the West Hollywood area. People over there very friendly and nice. Never thought vegan food tastes so yummy and became addicted Trio Tacos and nachos Dipping sauce, made out of Cashew/Almonds. Prices aren't too much. Ambience and vibes are awesome. Gelato ice cream (opposite to GM) followed by Taco 🌮 is the best ever endings one can have. It's hectic to find the parking on weekends.

Amazing food!! I have tried many vegetarian/vegan Mexican restaurants, but this is one of the best restaurants I have ever been. We tried the following dishes:- 1. ENCHILADAS DE CALABAZA & PORCINI MUSHROOM - the soft tacos filled with butternut squash, served with mushroom sauce on top of it. Usually, the mushroom has strong flavors and overpowers the dish if not used wisely. However, you can taste every ingredient of this dish and relish it. Never thought that sauteed spinach and rice pilaf would go so well with it. 2. TACO TRIO - We tried JACKFRUIT CARNITAS TACO, CHIPOTLE BARBACOA TACO, and GRILLED PUMPKIN SEED TOFU TACO. My favorite was the jackfruit one. Others were okay. 3. CHURROS - Perfect way to end the meal!! 4. For drinks, we ordered a purista margarita and La Loteria (sweet) and both were good. It is over-priced given the quantity, so might burn your pocket. A must-try place!!

Absolutely love this restaurant! We eat GF and mainly plant-based, so there was so much for us to choose from. Then, finding out they have their own house mezcal made this place even better! The atmosphere is amazing, and I love that they have indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. We plan to return and would highly recommend this place, even if you’re not vegetarian/vegan.

I will crave this place! A must visit every chance I can!

LOVE this place! This is my second time here and such great creative authentic Mexican food but Vegan! You honestly do not even know it’s vegan, it’s that good. The staff was friendly and fast. Drinks were great too. Only thing I noticed that was no valet for parking, so parking around the area was a little tricky. Overall, amazing experience. Must try.

This is a great spot for vegans. We went for brunch and we had reservations. We went as a large party so you will see a variety of food photos here! Staff was wonderful, food was great - all vegan. I would definitely go again and try more of their items! Four stars because of the price. I have had equally good food other places that cost half of what I paid here.

Beauty! This one had been on our list for so long that I actually knew what I'd order before even stepping in. Such a fabulous chic place serving great food and unlimited LA vibes. Plenty of seating available in their huge patio area which what I reserved. It wasn't crowded since it was a Monday morning but I'd recommend making reservations. We ordered their Esquites, Potato Flautas (wouldn't be wrong if I said I went here just for this) and Ranchero bowl. Great shareable portions, beautifully plated and so flavorful. The flautas were as wonderful as I expected. The esquites was served on a hot skillet and added to the experience. Everything was great except the person that took our orders. I'm not sure what we did to piss him off but he just wouldn't smile and was super curt in all his replies, kinda terrifying and diluting the otherwise wonderful experience.

You’ll find very few places where the vibe, food, and service are all on point the way Gracias Madre is. Went there for a pre birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised. All the food and drinks we ordered were on point, our server was friendly and efficient. Completely vegan restaurant with a good variety of food choices. Overall had a good experience. I would recommend this place.

SOOOO GOOD! Seriously, how do they make vegan sushi taste so delicious! Every bite was flavorful and not at all lacking. I am not vegan but could eat this every night. I tried the butler's roll and the surprise ending roll along with the croquettes as an appetizer. It was all so tasty yet still refreshing and light and that is my favorite kind of food.

(Translated by Google) Nice place with a wide variety of vegan food, a pleasant atmosphere, equal drinks, but a very high price in relation to the size of the dishes. I would not say that the food was not tasty, the food was tasty and accurate but for the size of the dishes we received it was unfortunately not worth it, recommend that if someone from the restaurant reads the review, increase the dishes a bit and it will be worth it.

This has been one of my favorite vegan restaurants but this time I was a bit disappointed. The salad was drenched in oily dressing and the brussel sprouts also drenched in oil. I should have stuck with the tried-and-true sushi rolls.

We studied the menu and ordered a few things off the bat -- red sangria, tomato tostada and radish tostada. Omg i downed that radish one so fast that we ordered another one along with salt cod churros, quinoa salad, shrimp gambas, pork belly pincho. Highlights: radish tostada ofc. Quinoa salad! It's so pretty, plus the dressing is really good. Pork belly pincho super tasty, comes with 3 skewers. My FAVORITE thing here is the gambas! It's like a shrimpy tomato basey stew thing with bread on the side. Waaah it was so good, definitely savored this and would order again :)

Such an incredible selection of food on offer. The balancing of incredibly fresh ingredients, spicing and flavors is simply staggering. This is food that beats all the other restaurants I have tried in Los Angeles. This is the finest vegetarian food available. Every dish I tried was a revelation.

My first time here during COVID. Great atmosphere, great service, great and delicious food. I believe the drink menu for non alcoholic can be way better and can offer more (volume) as it is expensive. I would rather pay $10 for the Aqua Fresca (I had watermelon) and the soda and recieve free-refills especially dining and enjoying the customer friendly atmosphere. I had the Tres Bowl- Braised Mushroom, sweet corn, coconut cream, braised kale, truffle oil, brown rice, black beans (5 star dish) and their Jaiba Ceviche’ for my mains. The Chips and Guacamole was great (they give you more Guacamole than chips lol). Deseer try their hazelnut gelato. Pricey but excellent. Definitely would dine here again🙏🏼

Aside from the mosquitos, it was nice. The food was a bit bland, but the service made up for that.

The service was average, the food was average, the drinks were average, and the attitude and ambience was average. If you like run of the mill average, then this may be your spot. I loved this place preCovid, so perhaps it's worth re-visiting when Covid is over. Might not be my first choice at this time. And from a vegan standpoint, I'm disappointed to have to say that.

Beware this is a vegan restaurant. After eating here I now know for a fact that I couldn't be a vegan. The al pastor was greasy and tasteless. The jackfruit crab cake was mushy and tasteless. A little meat and proper marketing goes a long way.

Overall, Gracias Madre WeHo offers an amazingly delicious “vegan twist” on Mexican cuisine. I can’t overstate how amazing their menu is—go during weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday, it’s so worth it! I also appreciate the staff members’ extra attention to keeping guests safe during the pandemic. Thank you! (ps., Your body temperature is read before you’re admitted into the patio.)

This place used to be amazing. The menu used to be one of my favorites in Los Angeles. The restaurant used to be clean. The staff used to know the best dishes and cocktails. My last experience started with being seated at a dirty table, during a pandemic. Then we took some recommendations from the waiter. The Pico de Gallo was dry and had zero taste. The bowl ordered was a mashed up bowl of flavor that did not mix well. The grilled vegetables weren’t even grilled. I can say that ceviche was good, but not worth going back for. Bring back the old menu! Also, why is the entire staff male except the hostess? Didn’t used to be that way... nice knowin’ ya!

Great service, fantastic staff, great food... however on the pricey side. Wait times are exceptionally long, ( for in-dining) take-out in my opinion is the better option.

Great food. Good service. Good bar selection. Park on the Street. Happy hour is available too. Definitely going back!

All of the food was stellar but in particular we loved the little gem salad! I was equally impressed with the Malbec - probably the finest I've ever tasted!

Just lovely. The garden is really beautiful and the altar where one can light up a candle helps to create a mystic atmosphere. Food is great. Tried the burrito and was delicious. Margaritas are a must: both the spicy, tequila based, and the classic but with mezcal. A little gem in west hollywood

Great patio. People were happy like it was 2019. Sat underneath the Olive Tree. The Paloma is amazing. Elegant simple and refreshing. It comes in an unassuming highball, the ice is the centerpiece 1 long rectangle. It's so clear you won't see it except for the tip that floats like an iceberg. I will be back for the Paloma and a photo; for now you'll have to see it for yourself

The pineapple fried rice was delicious. Some parts of it tasted more salty than the majority of the dish, but overall it's a definite dish to order! The Pad Thai had a bit more acidity to it than I expected but my sister really enjoyed this dish.

I love Gracias Madre for their delicious vegan Mexican fare and great tequila and mezcal drinks. The place and its atmosphere is chic and very lively.

This was suggested by my friend Kelsey and boy am I glad she wanted it on the list. Gracias Madre wound up being my second favorite food that I had in Los Angeles. It was amazing. I cannot stress enough just how incredible this food was. On top of the amazing food, the atmosphere of this restaurant was remarkable. One thing I do want to note is that you absolutely need a reservation for this restaurant. It was completely packed on Thursday night!

Dined-in with 4ppl. Asked to sit in the booth, hostess said that booth is for party of 8 ppl reservation, in the end they sat only 4 ppl. Guacamole is $12 for a small pre-made portion. And the food was not as it was before. Will not come back.

All vegan food. The tacos al pastor taste like al pastor!!! Need to absolutely have the coliflower, my favorite dish up until now. I was too full after tasting the esquite and the tacos de chicharron, but I heared the Pozole is amazing!!! Tell me how it tastes.

The service could have been a bit more personable. The wet burrito was delicious! But I would avoid the al pastor tacos, they tasted liked dehydrated mushrooms and tree bark.
