Stayed at the RV part of the beach and it was perfect for helping my Dad who is in his end of life stages enjoy the ocean without stress. The campground was quiet so he could rest when needed, was safe, had plenty of space for the dogs to be walked with some grassy areas to sniff, and allowed wheelchair access to the bike path for viewing the waves, volleyball games, gatherings at fire pits, hang gliding lessons, and just general people watching. The sunsets at the end of the day were gorgeous and it was fun to see the city lights and even ferris wheel lit up in the distance. My Dad had been a pilot so he actually loved watching the planes take off and land from the nearby airports. Less than half a mile north of the campground was a place to rent free beach wheelchairs so Dad could even put his feet in the water and collect seashells with me. And last but not least the Oceans Cafe and Grill next door was a delicious and enjoyable breakfast and or lunch--we highly recommend a visit for a meal with a view!

This is a great beach that is not talked about a lot.. everyone is suggesting other locations further north or south but this is a great spot. Very large beach with tons of parking and room for activities. The only issue I had was that they closed the car beach access right before sunset when everyone was trying to get in.. this causes a lot of chaos as they selectively allow cars in and turn other cars away. Especially when the beach is listed as open until 8:30pm. Lots of folks end up missing out on the beautiful sunset because of that and its seems completely arbitrary. Also getting out of is a bit of a headache. If you are lucky enough you can get a good parking spot along Vista Del Mar and cross the road. Just careful as its a very busy road. The beach itself is huge and very clean. One thing (pro or con depending on the individual) is that the beach is located just outside the airport runway so if you don't want the noise, the beach is not for you.. if you enjoy watching low flying planes at take-off, its an added bonus.

Kids and I love this beach - there is always plenty of parking and quick access to the beach, Cafe, showers and restrooms from the parking lot. Love the friendly distance to everything. So it makes it easy on me with my two little ones. They love the water and I love the breeze and watching the waves crashing and sunsets. The best part of this beach is that it's never crowded.

I'm new here, but this is my favorite beach in LA so far! The park/Beach is huge, with plenty of parking as well as a dedicated RV park. Plenty of fire pits to hang out at. The waves are beautiful and the planes fly right overhead. It's just about in the middle of the bike path so I like to come for the all day parking and take off in either direction.

Great public spot to see and touch the ocean without trespassing on private property in Las Angeles. $7 to go visit. That being said the beach is covered in trash. I’m sure the water is sickly and would never go swimming there. Just glad the trash is on the beach and not in the water for the poor sea creatures. I did see public biffy’s.

What a great time for someone from Toronto like myself. Dockweiler Beach in Los Angeles is a hidden gem along the Southern California coastline, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. What sets this beach apart is its well-maintained fire pits, allowing visitors to enjoy the beach even after the sun dips below the horizon. The campfire spots at Dockweiler Beach are an absolute highlight, providing a cozy setting for friends and family to gather around, roast marshmallows, share stories, and experience the true magic of a beachside bonfire. The beach is blessed with breathtaking sunsets, making the campfire experience even more enchanting. As the sun sets in a blaze of hues, the flames from the fire pits dance in harmony with the twilight sky, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. The warm, golden tones reflecting off the waves and sand add a touch of romance and tranquility to the overall ambiance. The sunsets at Dockweiler Beach are a photographer's dream, capturing the transition from day to night in the most spectacular fashion. Dockweiler Beach also offers ample space for various outdoor activities, making it a popular destination for beachgoers seeking adventure and relaxation. Whether it's volleyball matches, picnics by the shore, or simply soaking up the sun's rays, the beach provides a perfect backdrop. Families and friends can engage in beach games, cycling along the bike path, or even flying kites, creating lasting memories against the backdrop of the vast Pacific Ocean. The beach is well-maintained, with clean facilities and ample parking, making it accessible and convenient for visitors. The availability of firewood vendors nearby ensures that the campfire experience is hassle-free and enjoyable. The friendly beach staff further add to the pleasant experience, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. In conclusion, Dockweiler Beach is a treasure trove for those seeking an idyllic coastal escape. The campfire spots and stunning sunsets are a match made in heaven, providing a magical setting for cherished moments with loved ones. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor to LA, Dockweiler Beach offers a beach-going experience that is unforgettable and uniquely Californian.

One of the rarest beaches in Los Angeles area where you can visit with your four legged friends. We drove about 45 minutes from Glendale with almost no traffic on Sunday and were surprised to find the beach not too crowded which was just perfect for having a relaxing time with our 3 dogs who could run and have fun without bothering others. The water was super warm unlike in other beaches we usually visit and the sand was somewhat clean. You could see some seaweed thrown on the beach but not so much to bother. Overall it was a great experience with the dogs and I definitely added to my favorite spots to visit.

Big beach with tons of parking and lots of room to spread out. The Malibu coastline is visible to the north, the costal bike path winds along the length of the entire beach, and the sunsets are always great. Keep in mind you are directly under the flight path of departing jets from LAX, so you will hear jet engines right over your head every once in a while. Check what time parking closes! Sometimes it closes earlier on weekends than on weekdays, which is so annoying. Parking was 9 bucks when I went. Street parking would be a mile away by foot. The best activity you could do here is throw a BONFIRE! In my view, it's an LA must do activity. But make sure the pits are currently out on the beach, and get there at an appropriate time. If it's a Saturday during the summer, they're all gone by 7 or 730 am. If it's during the fall, you can wait until the mid afternoon. Have fun and party, but don't burn pallets, and clean up after yourself!

Loads of fun, perfect temperature 🌡 👌 😎. Parking gets a little rough after 2:00. So get there early. Cool to see all the airplane ✈️ taking off (right behind LAX). If you can stick around for the beach night 🌙 life. Some cool 😎 DJ, with light shows.

It’s not my favorite, but great for a quick beach experience. I’d go as far north at this beach as possible because the ambiance was better. I came early on a Saturday morning and was able to get 2 hour street parking. There were a lot tents on the beach with people just waking up. The bathroom were odd- like half of the door was missing and it looked pretty gross. The bike path looked inviting though. Good place for wheeled sports. It was nice to sit and watch some surfers, and you do hear planes flying overhead if you like that!

This is my favorite Los Angeles area beach. It's clean, well maintained, and easy to get to. There are 5 connected beachfront parking lots (I believe), more than any other beach I know of anyway. It's $10 to park, well worth avoiding the headache of looking for parking at other beaches. I took these photos the first week of September during the crazy heatwave, and to my surprise this beach was relatively empty. There was a typical rush of folks coming in to watch the sunset, but no one playing bongos - LOL Venice! These photos taken with 16mm, and 70-200mm lenses.

Participated in a beach cleanup with the Bolts Community Crew and the Surfrider Foundation today. The weather was perfect and the beach was empty for the majority of the morning. Beach goers started to show up around noon, but there was still plenty of parking. We were there to clean the beach and picked up close to 600 pounds of trash, but the beach was very clean when we arrived. There are pits for bon fires and plenty of trash cans throughout. There is a really nice paved bike trail along the beach, that had more runners/joggers on it than bike riders. I’d definitely recommend visiting, but just a heads up, it is noisy since it is in LAX flight path. Paid parking is available for $9 and you pay at the gate (card only) when you enter the lots.

I had a great time sitting on the beach on a long layover in Las Angeles. The ocean was a little wild on that day but did not disappoint as I love hearing the waves Crack. The planes taking off over the beach is just an added bonus. The beach had a lot of liter, but that's because humans suck.

$9 parking Only place in LA to sit at a bonfire on the beach. Visited mid-October on a Sunday and secured our spot by noon. There were still many other open pits. They were all full by sunset. Airplanes fly right over head but aren't too loud. Many vendors for ice cream, food, and firewood walk by. Bathrooms have toilet paper so that’s enough for me.

This beach has a nice walking/bike trail that goes on for a couple of 3 miles. I was here just after the big grains, and it was a little bit smelly, but they had cleared off all of the sand that had come up from the beach onto the walkway. You can see all the planes takeoff from LAX. It’s kind of cool.

It was really nice to camp next to the beach! Our campsite backed up to the sand, and we got to listen to the sounds of the surf. There were fire rings conveniently located near campsites for beach bonfire fun. Our site had full hookups fo4 our RV electrical, water, and sewer. The site also has full shower and restroom facilities. Within easy driving distance of Playa Del Ray for coffee or restaurants. There was a beach coffee shack at the south end, but they appeared to be closed for the winter. Be aware, you'll be in close proximity to LAX, and planes take off frequently. It wasn't too noisy though. There is also a sand berm that blocks the ocean view unless you're on thr extreme north or south ends. Altogether, a very clean and well organized facility worth a stop on your tour of the west coast!

A fantastic beach that is mostly secluded so you feel like it’s private. Lots of beautiful homes along the shore and plenty of volleyball nets, sand dunes and public bathrooms.

Older beach, not crowded on weekdays in the summer. There are fire pits that are there to grill meals/ warm in winter. There are restrooms and a place to buy food and drinks. Plenty of parking- cost $9.00 per car all day - no in/out. There are three sections of the beach and three parking lots. The center lot is closest to the restrooms/snack shop.

The fire pits are great and it's a wonderful way to an enjoy a day/evening at the beach. But the parking is a bit pricey ($14) and it can sometimes get very difficult to find a parking spot (especially on weekends). Definitely reccomend you get there early (around 7am) if you want to lock down a fire pit on a weekend. The pits are also a bit close together, but the people are typically friendly and a lot of regulars. If you have a tent, highly recommend you bring to shade yourself, especially on those really sunny days. I just wish there was better parking and more pits.

Best Place to come and hang out BBQ and stay late for a bonfire. Just bring your own wood or buy it a the shop they have. It's a beautiful beach by far. The restrooms are always being cleaned and fully stocked. The lifeguards always on duty that makes you feel safe. Overall the best beach I have been too. I recommend coming here just keep it clean please. You do have to pay for parking which is $13 but worth it.

A wonderful place for a family get-together. We recently had a great time spending hours enjoying some much needed family time. Parking in abundance, close enough to not have to lug picnic items for a long hard journey through the sand. Lifeguards posted and on point with safety. Bonfires at dusk to create the perfect ambience to the sound of the waves crashing at the shore.

The fire pits by lifeguard 55 are a must-have experience for every Angeleno. We went on a Wednesday and had to arrive early around 5pm to grab a pit. Right now it’s very cold with the wind, so bring a winter jacket. A lot of fun, though; great experience!

This beach is amazing one of the last beaches that still has the bonfire pits... Sometimes it can get really crowded so if you really want a pit on the holidays go early.. The bathrooms are not the best but if you there all day bring extra tissue because they run out.... Make sure you have everything you need because it's no ins and out.. The parking is 7.00 right now but it goes up to 15/20 in the summer.... I love this beach always good for me.....

Beautiful and calm beach, my boyfriend and I spent about 3 hours here before heading to the airport. We truly never wanted to leave, the sand is pristine, and the beach is clean. It’s right next to the airport so we get to see planes take off which was cool. Although if you’re sensitive to sound you may want to find a beach further from the airport. I appreciate all of the clean garbage cans so that trash didn’t end up littering the beach.

This is one of my top go-to beaches in Los Angeles County for several reasons. I love Venice and Santa Monica, but sometimes traffic is just more than I can deal with, and parking can be almost impossible on busy weekends or holidays. I've never had that problem at Dockweiler. It will get a little busy and if you're using the paid parking you may have to wait awhile but compared to other places in Los Angeles County it's just not as bad. There's a park on Vista del Mar overlooking dyockweiler and Playa del Rey and there is no cost for parking there. You'll want to get there well before sunset though because those free spots will fill up pretty quickly. The same goes for the neighborhood down the street off of Waterview. If you've seen very many Los Angeles beach pictures on social media there's a real good chance you've seen some taken from this neighborhood and for very good reason. All of this area is great for shutterbugs like me. It still gets pretty busy, however relatively speaking traffic and parking are much easier to deal with in general at Dockweiler and the aforementioned spots off of Vista del Mar. There are a number of other reasons why you can get some great pictures in this part of the bay. Some of the other hassles you might run into in the more crowded beaches are far less pronounced here... I mean it's L.A. so some things just go with the territory, but if you haven't been living in a complete vacuum you should be just fine here. You can see all the way to the Santa Monica Pier and the Santa Monica Mountains so if you have the right lens you might save yourself some of the common hassles most tourists will deal with. There's a great deal of paid parking right down on the beach. I've never seen it jump up in price as crazy as it does in the more famous beaches, although, like all of the beach parking in the area, prices do vary from day to day. One of the greatest things about Dockweiler Beach is that they have pits specifically for fires. I've seen plenty of people bringing RVs and grills and cooking out on the beach, or in the parking lot, on more than one occasion. It is one of the only, if not the only beach in Los Angeles County that you can have a fire. Keep in mind that is contingent on environmental conditions and sometimes, due to dry conditions, fires temporarily will not be permitted. Along with the fire pits, and easy access, there's so much more space available... So it's not uncommon to find fun stuff going on here after dark. In a previous job I rented members of a famous band a generator and ended up getting invited to a private birthday party where they performed that night down on Dockweiler. That sort of thing is pretty common at this beach. Between the overlooking park (with playground), easy access from above with footpaths, lots of relatively affordable parking, plenty of bathrooms, great views, bike paths fire pits and lots of fun activity after dark, Dockweiler really has something to offer everyone. Be safe and have fun!

When you go to Los Angeles, THIS is where you need to go. I'll be doing reviews of other parts of the park, but taken altogether, this park is heavenly. Wish we had more time to enjoy it. Make sure to go to the Japanese Tea Gardens, the de Young Museum, the Bison Paddock (not just a name, there are bison!), and just walk through the park in general. Also, windmills!

It’s a beach... it’s clean, the ocean is nice and it’s cool to watch the planes take off right overhead... however, if your the sort who likes to spend the whole day at the beach, you’d better bring your own snacks and drinks....the surrounding area is completely devoid of any sort of eating or drinking establishments - except for the ice cream man who can by with his cart. 👍

I liked it. The beach is clean, and friendly. The waves were good to play in safety. As well as the lifeguards being extremely attentive and making sure no one went to far. The temperature was moderate to once you stay longer. They charge $9 for parking. I will definitely return.

This beach is usually pretty clean, and it is a lot less trafficked than Venice or Santa Monica. There is plenty of parking, and there is also a bike path. They have hang gliding instructors here, if you want to learn, and the guy working said that this beach is where hang gliding originated in the 1960's, so that is pretty neat:) This is really close to LAX, so if you only have a little time before or after your flight, this is the perfect place.

We got these awesome bikes from our hotel and we rode for miles along the bike path here by the beach. We experienced a beautiful sunset as we rode along Dockweiler Beach. I really enjoyed it. I left a 5 star review few days ago upon entering. WRONG. If you've seen the movie ZERO DARK THIRTY, they torture a guy who knows where bin laden is hiding. Playing death metal rock 24/7 not allowing him to sleep. This is close to staying at Dockweiler. LAX flight path goes over rv park. Planes every 3 minutes 24/7. Park is very clean and maintained. Staff very friendly. 3 min walk to ocean. Bring EARPLUGS or XANAX to sleep.

I ride through Dockweiler on the bike path and think it is one of the most enjoyable stretches of coastline in Southern California. It is close to the city and at times is pretty crowded but because all the houses north of Imperial Highway were demolished it still has something of a wild feel. Weekends are busy but there once you get away from the parking lots you can find lots of space near the water if you’re willing to walk.

  • 5/5 mer r. 3 years ago on Google
I love the convenient parking. Costs $9 on weekdays and $13 on weekends. The ocean is only a few steps from the parking so no need to haul all your things very far. The water was clean, perfect for a swim. There's also a bike path and bike rentals.

This is one of my favorite beaches. Usually you can have fires and barbecue. It's one of the only beaches in the LA area that let you do it. All the parking is paid parking so make sure you take care of that. Also there are showers and bathrooms, just search for the youth center parking area. Have fun and keep the beaches clean please!

I didn’t want to go to one of the name brand beach is like Venice, I just wanted to go out and relax for a few hours, jump in the waves and smell the salt air. I’m not sure if it says it anywhere but you do have to pay nine dollars to park which is OK, tons of parking right on the beach for nine dollars? I’ll take it! Best bike path around. You can head towards Marina Del Ray and go up Ballona for a really good workout and head on to Santa Monica pier or go to Manhattan Beach and on to Redondo, where the path ends at Palos Verdes. Get your miles in people.

Really nice beach. But if you want to relax and hear the ocean go somewhere else. LAX 8 min away and planes flying over nonstop. So many seashells tho so that is the plus. Pretty cool they hsve firepits in one section also. The reason they got 1☆ is because they charge for parking but none of the restrooms have toilet paper. We went on two different days and two of ehe different sections. You would think they could atleast put toilet paper charging so much for parking.

My friend Big Will throws beach parties here with DJs and sound and lights and it's the only beach that allows fire pits and allows people to stay long after the parking lot closes at 10:00. If you're going to go there, it's recommended that you proceed down the path to the farthest parking lot. At parking lot number three, you will find the encampment where the base beats are kicking.

It’s me, Playmeite. Coming at you with a Beach 🏝️ review. Check out my selfies lol that’s how much I loved this place. 😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️ I came on a Sunday and it was definitely still tranquil, and not filled with so many people. There is the side with more people, but if you drive down a little further about a mile, you’ll find this lovely part of the beach. I personally come to the beach to relax, and not to socialize or bond with people like that, unless I am inviting friends lol. I came here to recharge and was here for about two hours. In that time I think I saw about 10 people at most around me and that is actually probably less than that. It definitely is different compared to your typical Venice beach or Huntington Beach. It’s a nice place to recharge in ground and just be in the company of the ocean and sand. There was a nine dollar parking fee to get in just a heads up for those that like to know if parking is free. There is more than enough parking spaces, and again on the side that I was that there was definitely barely any people, so no need to fight for parking. As far as using the restroom… There are portable potties around, but obviously try to use the restroom before you get here unless you don’t mind. 🙈 I think I found one of my new favorite spots to hang out at but I guess posting this is going to probably bump up the not so secret DL beach lol I am happy to share though and hope you guys come check it out !! 💃🏻

If you live in California and want to go to a beach that is not crowded with people this is the place. It was really peaceful observing the waves crash on the beach. It is almost like your own private get away. It only cost $3 to park for the day. Great mini get away.

Beautiful beach, great California living setting. I love to rent bikes and go for a relaxing ride. Stay healthy my friends! @followstaystrong101

$13 parking on weekends ($9 during the week i believe) Freeway 105 ends and leads u directly into the lot. Like couldn't be more perfect As of now, I never struggle for parking and in fact i love to park closest to the entrance (car side parking) and walk over to the RV parking side, beach front (to the left of car lot) less crowded and kid friendly waves for endless hours of covid safe fun! The RV side beach does get lots of airplanes flying over...its loud but gets muffled with the sound of the waves and they r cool to see so close! Chem trails r a thing but the world is ending so does it really matter for one day? ? 100 wanna keep coming here! Its been my little slice of paradise. This place usually also has fire pits but due to covis they r put away. Boo.

Beautiful, clean beach. We went here in summer of 2020 so it was not very crowded. My friend and I were both able to find street parking, but you can also pay to park in the lot. We had a fantastic time playing in the waves. There are public restrooms there but we didnt use them so I cant vouch for them.

  • 4/5 John M. 3 years ago on Google
Please be aware that, even though the park is heavily used, relaxing, and just a great place to be, do not leave valuables or personal objects visible in your car. There are sometimes waves of "smash and grab" incidents and that would be a sad way to have your visit here sullied. (Incidentally, finding parking is doable ... most of the time.) No visit to San Francisco is complete without visiting the many venues and seeing the many vistas available within Golden Gate Park.

I was looking at the RV park. It is okay, but kind of expensive and does not feel that safe. Location is right on the beach. I doubt I will stay here. Plus it looks to me to be a high traffic area day and night.

Love going to the beach and this one has a bonus you can watch planes as they take off over your head. We used to have bonfires here a lot but the last time I went there was a sign that fires on the beach were illegal. So that's sad. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWING BONFIRES DUE TO COVID 19

Beach walk: simple, no frills. Ample space and a long endless miles long walk. Loved it! Parking: good parking but very expensive at $13 flat rate on weekends. We came on a Saturday. Not everyone wants to spend the whole day there (as it’s simple and with no frills). Kinda highway robbery if you ask me. Distance to food: should be closer but not really. Which is why parking isn’t justified imo. Location: near the airport, kinda industrial looking but you get to see planes fly.

I enjoy this beach, which is especially preferable if you are planning to make a full day out of soaking up the sun. The beach itself is right in the path of the planes taking off over the Pacific, which can be a little loud, or it can be a good point of daydreaming. The parking lot is very large in size which means you can choose to park near the shop and food joint or closer to the edge to enjoy a secluded-feeling very private beach experience. The parking is a $9 flat rate for the day, so the longer you hang out and the more friends you bring, the more you get for your money!

As beautiful as it can be .semi private beach not many know about it and the construction in that part of the city make hard to park so its limiting the number of visitors.

  • 5/5 Nora E. 2 years ago on Google
Dockweiler is where you go and chill. Don't have to worry about the complainers. Get yourself some wine or whatever you're into and enjoy the sunset.

  • 3/5 Peregrine F. 2 years ago on Google
Nice beach close to the airport. Sadly, people litter the beach and the waves have that weird polluted yellow from the port. The beach is nice enough. There's a wonderful bike path and beach volleyball courts.

  • 5/5 Riza J. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect for a quick morning jog , come around 6-8 and almost no people around, very relaxing wind and waves sound. You’ll get to see planes taking off the LAX airport every 10 mins☺️☺️ not too many food stores so bring your own snack, trash cans are everywhere so you din’t need to worry on making the brach area a mess.

It was a nice beach to visit on a beautiful, but chilly day. People road bikes up and down the boardwalk, some frolicked in the sand, while others sat under their EZ-up tents. Dockweiler Beach became increasingly popular at sunset, as car after car lined up to pay and caravan down to the right to park. The bonfire pits were lit up, all along the beach, and some sections had music playing, and bodies swaying! There was even a section, off to the left, where campers could park. I felt safe, as there were beach police patrolling, regularly, and there were visible lifeguard stations at regular intervals, along the long stretch of sand. In the water, you could see sailboats in the distance, as well as the occasional bird diving for fish. There was even a few good vendors out there selling LA Hotdogs! There were even bikes for rent, for those who didn't bring their own. We played Giant Jenga, and a few other games, while some ate, and others made S'mores, after the guys got the pit lit. This is definitely a place for people of all ages. Bring the fun with you, or make the best of your time their!

  • 4/5 David T. 1 year ago on Google
Love the fire pits! If you want one on a summer Friday, get there by 3pm, or Saturday get there by noon to grab one. If you can't get there early, bring a bunch of fire wood and someone with very little wood will allow your group to join their group. There is something special about a bonfire on the beach at sunset...enjoy!!

  • 4/5 Jim B. 1 year ago on Google
Great night on the beach for dinner and watching the sunset. Hardly anyone there. While large trash is minimal and they do a nice job sweeping, there is a lot of small plastic (Eg, bottle caps and straws). They have movies at night in the summer on Fridays and free parking after 6pm.

  • 4/5 Rosemaryann P. 1 year ago on Google
Cleaber than Venice or Santa Monica, but dirtier than I prefer, but the sunsets are always so pretty. Also, having bon fires on the beach are always fun and exciting. Always clean up after yourself!

Parking is $9 (July 2023) and there are plenty of space. Beautiful beach not a whole lot of people. Nice place to watch the sunset!

  • 5/5 Nora S. 8 months ago on Google
This is the main beach I go to for walks and meditation. It's empty for the most part, unless it's the 4th of July or a hot summer weekend. Then it fills up.

  • 5/5 Jason T. C. 8 months ago on Google
Three ppl told me how ghetto this beach was, but when you're in a big group, none of it matters. You just have to time your conversations over the planes taking off. Otherwise, it's fine. You can burn wood on the sand because this is a state beach like Huntington.

  • 5/5 Will M. 7 months ago on Google
The most peaceful summer activity one can ask for, can't beat the summer weather.... forgot how refreshing it is to swim in the ocean. Perfect for any size group. Lol the more the merrier. As far as living, way too expensive, the hook is that once u live at the beach you'll never wanna live anywhere else

  • 4/5 Stacy R. 5 months ago on Google
This is my hometown beach, sad to see its dirty, trash in the sand so be careful walking barefoot. Unfortunately they took away the free parking on top to come down from the rails, although there were cars parked much further down up top. I believe it was $9 to park below & wouldn't be surprised if it increases. It's calmer than SM & has lots of seagulls. Also, that's where the airplanes pass through so don't be alarmed when you see em up close or hear em real loud. The bathrooms were clean & has the rinse areas too, those could be kept cleaner though, too much sand everywhere & the point is to wash off not step on sand again. Small shop there too, overall it's a nice beach & brings back childhood memories.

  • 5/5 Vincent L. 9 months ago on Google
Very nice beach, great for viewing planes taking off from LAX. Headed down here for the Fourth of July, and there were lots of fireworks all up and down the beach. Restrooms close around 8 pm, but there are port-o-potties north of the beach at the parking lot that are open all the time. Technically, you aren’t allowed to drink alcohol on the beach, but no one cares. Just don’t be hassling strangers and stick to your space and the police won’t bother you. I didn’t see any footpolice anyways, only LAPD helicopters.

  • 5/5 Mara V. 5 months ago on Google
We really enjoyed this long strip of beach and camped at the Dockweiler RV Park which has a section for vans. You are in the flight path of LAX and tune it out after awhile.

  • 4/5 Charles M. 5 months ago on Google
Good place to go for a walk alongside the ocean or jut hang before LAX flight. 9$ parking at the county car park. Park at the edge of the beach sand. At night many fires in the large provided fire rings. If you are socal many locals that often will welcome you to join there gathering

  • 5/5 Liz G. 2 months ago on Google • 6 reviews New
It was a beautiful day attending Dockweiler. Parking at Dockweiler State Beach costs between $7 (weekday, low season) and $9 (weekend, low season) and $9 (weekday, high season) $13 (weekend, high season) and there are no in/outs. If you leave the lot, you must pay again to enter. There is limited street parking on Vista del Mar, but take note of the parking signage. Overall it's a nice place to hang with family, friends, and even do bodyweight workouts.
