I wasn’t immediately charmed by this park as a good place to walk my dog but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Seems like a great park for kids and families; soccer and baseball fields, a large basketball court. Found a trail that goes along the railroad tracks with a nice variety of foliage. There is a large parking lot and it was quite full. Not my favorite park but it was nice for a change.

I live by the LA river. 11 years and counting, but an Angelino since I was 2 years young. I've seen this river evolve from a polluted dump to the more thriving full of life habitat that it currently is (including several homeless encampments but they are decent folks down on their luck that chose the LA river for it's safety) Remember that 187 movie with Samuel Jackson? That had some scenes shot by the LA river, I truly remember it being like that, you came to the river at your own risk. Now it's full of Hipsters sharing their beer and weed with you, young families taking their kids on bike rides and a brewery providing the very alcohol shared by the nice hipster neighbours and drank by the young couples taking their kids on walks or bike rides. You see, Craft beer will class up any situation, including public drinking. Still, this is a very happening nice community.

Visiting family and decided to bring the littles one to the splash pad on this hot day. It was a big hit. Fun place for the kids. Nice shady trees all around.

Super fun park to take the kids! Good size splash pad (water turns on at 11am - off at 4pm I believe) next to large playground split in two sections for smaller kids with sand and bigger kids with that nice rubbery ground. Small swing set too. Limited shade but it's there around to relax in. A couple of picnic tables. The bathrooms near the playground leave something to be desired. There's sports fields and space to grill, nice parking lot, and apparently river access - I haven't visited the river here, but that's the whole name huh. Anyway, good place!

I've been meaning to stop by this park for years since I live in Atwater Village and regularly go to Frogtown on the other side of the river from this park. It's a nice park objectively speaking, my favorite parts are the paths closest to the railroad tracks but from what I can tell you can't actually see the la river from this park, so in that sense the name is misleading.

I lived near this park for about 6 years and did almost everything there. Took my brother to soccer practice, played basketball, ran around the track, etc. Its a fun park and there’s tons to do. Genuinely so happy I lived so very close to it.

The splash pad is always breaking down. I called yesterday and was told it was working only to get there and find out the splash pad had broken down, again. Also the parking can be pretty rough, and there is always scattered trash in the grass areas around the splash pad. No one cleans the park.

This state park was steeped with tradition. Visitors will definitely have a good experience here. It was a beautiful place to come and have a good time. The surroundings were well-kept. The best choice for those participating in team-building activities and other recreational activities.

This is a big recreation park that offers a fantastic variety of athletic and leisure facilities to the public. There are a few of big fields for soccer and baseball, multiple basketball courts, a playground and exercise area, a dog park...The park is so big that simply walk around it would be a good relax. A park office with public restrooms located near the main gate. The one thing I don't like about the park is that it's located in the middle of nowhere. There are almost no local business around and no one really walk over here, you really have to plan a trip.

This park is gorgeous. It's perfect for a picnic, bike riding, running, and rollerblading. The architecture in the midst of it is a lovely view, and there are always enough people around to give it a vibrant, community feel.

This park has a number of sports fields, picnic tables, and a path to walk. They did a great job of planting trees and shrubs in the path to hide the train tracks and the road. It feels like a little oasis. There are signs to please stay on the trail to preserve this habitat.

It’s a nice park since the renovation a few years ago. There’s a really good playground for kids, basketball and tennis courts that are well maintained, one good baseball diamond that gets locked up, and another practice diamond that’s open. There’s a couple soccer fields that are in alright shape most of the time. And there’s a dirt path that meanders through the park and makes a nice loop through a grove of native plants. It’s not going to knock anyones socks off but it’s a solid neighborhood park, and it’s clean and well maintained. I just wish they would open both entrances every day during daylight hours.

Nice and peaceful place, great place for a walk but it's a dirt trail need the synthetic field open instead. Though I see people sneaking in the fenced field when the person is supposed to keep watch.

I go here for picnics. There is always parking and an available picnic table. Very " Natural California" park. There is a dog park area and children's play area. Lots of people going for walks here.

Came here with Alana and Nadine just as the sun was going down the horizon. We immediately took one of the free parking spots and literally jumped out of the car to witness the beautiful sunset. It looks a favorite spot for locals and tourists. It's clean and well maintained. Lots of folks sitting in the sandy beach admiring the beautiful view of sunset. It's also a great place to view the Rio de Los Angeles State Park.

Random find on a recent trip to San Francisco. We stopped here only for a few minutes but it was easily the most fun we had all day. Make sure to use cardboard on the slide to make it faster. It was a few minutes out of the way and in a residential neighborhood but worth it!

Great area for dogs. The beach the dunes and trails are all open and off-leash. Lots of professional dog walkers with 5 or 6 dogs which sort of bugs me. It's fine if everyone gets along.

I like coming to this park with my kids but the only thing that hasn’t made my visit a peaceful one this summer is the uncertainty of their splash pad. Sometimes it’s on sometimes it’s off. Sometimes when I have called the office they have told me it turns off by its self. I’ve been told that it turns of on Saturday, on a different day they said that the water is filtering it’s self and that’s why there’s only two fountains working. They have also said that they don’t have any control over the water system, that it has a mind of its own. This is what I don’t understand. I usually call acting like I haven’t called the other times just to see what they say. The lady in the office said that she would have to call people that don’t work in the office to come and look at it. This has been the case for about 3 weeks now and the office has not been able to call those people to fix the splash pad. This is the closest splash pad there is for me. I would go to another but gas is expensive. I would just like to go to the splash pad on the hours that they say the water is on. It would give so many moms a peace of mind. I did ask the office lady if I could speak to her supervisor and she said he would probably tell me the same thing. I’m just wondering how we can properly fix the water pipes to be able to enjoy this splash pad properly.

In reality, I have never personally set foot here before but I have heard that this park is very big and that it has quite alot of space to do some hiking, running or some other types of exercises to clear your thoughts and to distract yourselves from the everyday routine. I have also heard that this park has quite alot of trees and some grills for whoever wants to celebrate 4th of July at this facility for instance. I sincerely hope that one of these days I can visit this park personally with my family and friends. That is, if the pandemic ever goes away and everything goes back to normal. Fat chance of that. But I guess we should let god decide what is really going to happen in the future.

This park has something for everyone. Multiple playing fields, tree lined walking / jogging paths, and gardens. My pups cry with excitement whenever we pull up here. This park is massive, very clean, well maintained, and gated all the way around for safety.

Went to the Japanese botanical garden here in spring season and it didn't disappoint at all. The colors were vibrant. It was a beautiful afternoon stroll around the garden. The place was well taken care of. Beautiful koi fish pond as well. It's a nice walk if you visit SF.

The Golden Gate Park is a must see place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful San Francisco weather. My husband and I were visiting from Chicago, and we really enjoyed the beautiful picturesque opportunities all around the park. We really wanted to see the Japanese tea gardens, but I did not realize that you have to pay a entrance fee of $20 I believe. One of my favorite spots to see in the Golden Gate Park was sitting and listening to the Golden Gate Park band. The area that the band was playing in had nice seating with shade, on a very hot sunny San Francisco day.

No idea why so many people think this park is in SF. It’s not! It’s in North East LA, in Glassell Park! This park has a little trail to run/walk, has a soccer field, basketball court, splash pad for kids, playground, and an indoor class (for dance classes before the shutdown). The parking lot is huge and you can skate around hen there are no cars. 2 Laps in the dirt trail is one mile. It’s pretty empty these days during the shutdown.
