Definitely one of the BEST PARKS in the world! The views are beautiful, especially near the lake, with lots of vegetation and flat areas great for walking. There is a playground for kids, and many activities to enjoy, such as tennis, golf, baseball, and even bowling. It's an ideal park for picnics with family or friends, and dog walking!

This park is easily a hidden gem in the middle of LA. Found nestled in between the oil fields of central LA, thus park offers free weekday and Sunday parking as well as many different ecosystems. From large grassy fields to a flowing stream into a geese and duck filled pond, you’re sure to find many different nature activities in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It’s quiet but can get crowded. There are playgrounds and bathrooms, and easily make any day you plan to visit a nice chance to reflect around you.

Very scenic and peaceful. I've been twice and there's never been any issues here. Even the bathroom is clean with hand soap.

Very nice place for hiking or spend times near the lake, some people fishing there. You need to pay 6$ per car to enter to the park, and plenty parking spot there, it’s worth to spend at least two hours there and enjoy watching fishes inside the lake or birds around it, or go to the mountain trail. Of course because of all these I believe is good for kids.

Such a great park to take family photos! It was very crowded the day I took these photos of this beautiful family, but we managed to find the perfect locations with greenery and without anybody in the background.

Went fishing for trout but didn't catch any. Went on a weekday morning. Good place to get your daily walk. Not too many people.

Great place to go hiking or simple to take your kids on a walk. They also have different playground on different parts of the park. There are different parts of the park if you fallow the road all the way to the top there is a playground and hiking trail. Also have a river and ponds to enjoy ducks and goose swim.

Such a great park for hiking, kids play, panorama view, landscape, little events. This time of the year everything is green with lots of wild flowers. Ducks and other birds are around the main lake. The stream is filled with water.

This park is amazing. Not crowded, and very peaceful!!!! If you truly love nature and want to get away from this crazy life with nonsense, this is the place to be. This park has nice ponds, good playgrounds , a nice walking trail and just basically the whole park to explore. It is very nice here and better than any other park you visited in LA .

I finally got A chance to bring the kids here on A random Sunday, paid $6 bones for parking & were in. So happy that it wasn't packed, alot of people were here but they were all spread out. We walked A trail & the kids were so happy looking at nature & having mini adventures!

It’s a park within a park, as for someone who enters the main Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area entrance and stays there without knowing the whole of it all. This lower park section is a large enough park, separate from the upper portion! Many park goers who arrive by bus or ride share may stay in the lower park, as is the anglers at the lake, basketball players and group picnicker’s. The only disadvantage from the upper park is the lack of panoramic city views, disc golf, fitness area and the additional hiking trails. A ten to fifteen minute hike or a one to two minute drive from the visitors center will access the higher ground. All of the park amenities are available down yonder, with vending machines, clean public restrooms and a visitors center.
