Stoner Park has a little bit of everything and it's perfect for anyone who likes to go do park activities. It has a children's playground area and skate park. There is also a large area for picnics with grills and a pool that is open in the summer. Additionally, there is a baseball field, outdoor basketball courts, a gym (indoor basketball) soccer pitch, tennis courts, a workout section with installed equipment, and a long grassy/dirt area that is used as a dog park (fenced on 2 sides), but I don't think it's officially a "Dog Park."

Awesome park for kids of all ages. Lots to do here. The only bad part is we are from Utah and parked in the adjoining parking lot not knowing they would lock us in. That was not a fun surprise to discover when trying to leave with tired kids. I'd recommend parking on the street.

We went to Stoner Park for a picnic. There were 6 of us, 5 adults and 1 baby. There are nice picnic tables in the park surrounded by trees and a grassy area. The only drawback is that the picnic area is right next to the skateboarding area. So there's a fair amount of noise from the skateboards clacking on the concrete. But it's still a pretty good place for a picnic. I would certainly go there again.

Very chill park. Super popular with locals. There's a skate park that's loaded with local high schoolers and young adults skating around. There's many families playing in the grass and BBQing. There's also a dog park with lots of dogs running around. There's sports areas like basketball and tennis. I went around sunset time and there were a lot of people all over every area of the park, so get there early if you're trying to take up a large space. Very nice little park, great for Pokémon GO playing.

There are 4 tennis courts here that are fairly good. Most of the time are busy but if you go early in the morning you can find an available spot. We go there every week and we are very happy about that. RECOMMENDED

Stoner Park the name of this park speaks for itself. I have no idea why I stopped here at Stoner Park maybe so my family can have a chance to play around and get out some energy. The family like playing at Stoner Park but it seems too crowded maybe because it was a quinceanera going on down the way underneath five different trees in the park. Next time I'll choose another park in the area

Plenty of parking and a ton of happy, friendly dogs and their owners. The beach in certain sections can be a little dirty due to ash mixture from bonfires but the off-leash allowance is fantastic. This is one of our very fave dog spots in the Bay Area.

Great park for kids and plenty for them to do in playground plus they have a pool and a pole that has a canopy (pole throws mist with a push button). Today was very hot and humid can't wait for fall.

I recently visited this playground in Santa Monica with my 4-year-old son, and we had a blast! The play structure is not only modern and updated but also incredibly fun for kids. My son loved exploring the play structure, digging in the sandbox with the provided digger, and swinging on the swings. The fact that there's free and easy parking, as well as street parking on Stoner Avenue, is a huge plus – it eliminates the stress of finding a spot. I highly recommend this spot for parents looking for a fun and well-designed playground experience for their little ones!

Love this park! My daughter does a volleyball program here... it's real fun and the coach is great. LA Parks are wonderful!

Fact that a employee has best review & they removed the other really bad reviews - waste of funds and lots of people harmed through the bad un supervised programs from the jeopardy to the so called martial arts to the pool to the way community really does not care - it lives up to its name stoner park. Kids shouldn't be given permission to be stoners

Not a resident, but my mechanic is in this neighborhood and being that my car was in the shop all-day, this was a perfect spot to picnic and hang out w my kiddo until my car was repaired. My child even got a free lunch from the Free Summer Meal Program. Glad we came by. Will definitely visit again. **I didn't rate 5 Stars because the restrooms were dirty.

Good park. It has a small parking lot. Courts to play tennis, basketball, soccer and baseball. There is also a place for skateboard. Picnic areas for BBQ. The playground is nice.

It's a great place to be! They have an exercise area, pool, roller skating area, and even some kid swings!

  • 4/5 Diana O. 8 months ago on Google
a bit dirty in some areas, but the playground is quite nice, with lots of space to play, sit, and run around, suitable for all ages. Bathrooms are better than expected and the skate park is lovely and populated. every now and then there’s a homeless person staring at ya, but they’re harmless imo

A great place to unwire and observe some skateboarding, not a place for picnicing with family.

It’s a good park, I can be a bit hectic trying to get a tennis court. Not sure why the 2 courts have been closed for so long

  • 1/5 Alen B. 7 months ago on Google
The pool is a disaster. Came with two kids, drove 30 min only to discover they’re closing the pool two hours early because of chlorine levels being too low. And this happened third time in a row to us. The other time we came they didn’t even open for the day because the staff didn’t show up. What a mess.

This is a great park, located in West L.A. Basketball, baseball, dog park skateboard area, outdoor workout area, senior activities, people practice yoga ok m the eastside of the park, where are many trees and lots of grass. There is a snack van that comes by every afternoon, plenty of parking in the lot and on the street. Bathrooms could use and upgrade. There is also a pool that is open during the Summer months. Very busy family-oriented park.

Worst park for a community. Would not take my kid there. Not if you want good healtby kids. Whole area gang park and dangerous

  • 4/5 Alex J. 3 years ago on Google
I have come here to play tennis at the courts twice including today. There's 6 courts and it's a pretty fair chance u can get one, but people stay for a while. There's another park at Valencia and 19th. I have hung out in this park. Tourists in town love it. Visitors love it. People who think they are hip like this park, but it's alright. It's a bit too gritty in the Mission and it seems infested by something. There's a big scene and you can see and be seen. If you like the Mission district...and young people...

  • 4/5 Wayne S. 3 years ago on Google
I could seriously spend all day here. It's so gorgeous and there's so many things to do around the park!

  • 4/5 Zachariah C. 3 years ago on Google
This park is incredibly beautiful and serene. It's probably one of the best views of the city, and what better way to see it but on a grassy hill with your friends, eating a picnic, drinking some vino (because no one cares about open container laws on this hill)? Also, be sure to chat up Abdulah; he's got a lot to say.

Man oh man! What can I say, the people, the atmosphere just everything about it is unique and really speaks LA. Check it out! It's really packed on Sundays! Everyone's really chill. It's like a beach party at the park. Everyone's drinking and smoking, just a really dope place.

Very cool cold war ruins here. Great place get in a long hike. Lots and lots of trails with many views of the ocean. Lots of water. Great nature. A very satisfying trip and just over the bridge!

I’ve grown up across the street from this park and my experience was the best! I loved the swings, monkey bars, of course the skate park! I did basketball there for girls and I enjoyed it! Two years in basket ball WOW and 4 years in ballet since I was 2. I promise you, you want to raise your kid here <3

  • 4/5 Leonard M. Threlkeld M. T. 3 years ago on Google
Really nice area to walk your dog. Everyone pretty much let the dogs run around and play with each other. Once you walk down the steep hill, if you want a picturesque area take the Steps walking towards the left side (left if you're standing after the steep hill facing the beach). The whole area is a nice mix of how California and Arizona would look like if they had a baby.

I am always amazed at how beautiful and big the park is. And what a treasure it has in terms of museums. I have many good memories here. Since it was on the list of tourist attractions I showed off this weekend to a friend from France, I was reminded again of what a local gem we have - that I don't take advantage of.

There one word I call this place! """""""""""AWESOME"""""""""" and if you have pets this is a great to meet friends here! Beaut full homes here and TONS of Pretty Lady's (I means Victor Homes near by) near by! Parking on the other hand not so much. Better off take a bus to come here!

Very relaxing. Extra points for having a place to lawn bowl. More extra points for having the botanical gardens and ponds with cute ducks and geese. I'm smitten.

I absoultely LOVE runyon canyon! I sometimes frequent this park on a dailyu basis. Great (free) workout. I would recommend the "hard" hike as opposed to the opposite side which is more "hollywood" and used for taking photos. The hike is about an hour in length (walking). it's intermediate. i'd recommend bringing water as it can get hot up on the hill. such a great workout with an amazing view of the city! A hollywood staple!

  • 3/5 Luna W. 3 years ago on Google
Runyon Canyon is a hiker's paradise right in the middle of LA. The terrain is varied and ranges from greenery & palm trees to dirt/rock ramps to rocky hillsides and peaks. There are several breathtaking views of downtown LA, the Hollywood sign and neighboring canyons & valleys.

Great place to be when the weather is good! Take your dog, and make sure to bring your own doggie bags, and be prepared to hold the filled bag for awhile as there are not enough trash cans around! (this should be fixed imo!-not exactly dog friendly now is it?) However there are water spots that have doggie water bowls, so that is a big plus!

I am a big fan of Nature and of gardens and other amazing flora that seek to calm and support our senses. That being said, I find it remarkable that in this day and age I run into people who have no idea what a Dahlia is or that little butterflies that run amok like Tigger are called Skippers or you fish with ghost shrimp and bloodworms. It truly makes me appreciate how much my father encouraged exposure to the great outdoors.

  • 4/5 Hannes K. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful park, so many things you can do. Let's see, light trail walking, people watching, row boat racing, watching my dog trying to scare off ducks, stow lake ghost hunting, having sex in the car at night.. wait, what??

  • 4/5 Isla D. 3 years ago on Google
Huge park! Huuuuuuuuuuge. Its like Central Park except not as scary. And it has museums in the middle. As a SoCal native, I say ... what the what?Parking is confusing. What else do you expect from SF....

the view is spectacular. ninj took me here as a special surprise. the fog rolled in and did cloud the view for a few minutes while we were there. however, we did get some fantastic shots of the golden gate bridge, the bay bridge, sutro tower and the CA skyline!

3 years ago, I came there for the concert on the playground. More than 2000 people, it is the first time that I join this kind of activity in US

A gorgeous place in any weather. Another perfect excuse to skip work and go for a hike. One of my Top Five reasons for never leaving the Bay Area.

  • 4/5 Chris R. 3 years ago on Google
Nice big park. Main complaint is that there's a dog park section, which people seem to think means the whole entire park is a dog off leash zone and so you'll just have strangers dogs walking thru your picnic

Great beach to run around with the dogs. The only "bad" thing about this place is the long steep walkway to the beach. Other than that, I try to come here as much as I can!

  • 4/5 Clinton E. M. 3 years ago on Google
Amazing dog park. The views are spectacular, and somehow there are countless dogs here that all get along and enjoy all the space to run. The owners are always very respectful and everyone helps keep the park beautiful and clean.
