A great park in Pasadena near the Rose Bowl. It is clean, huge, and not overly crowded. Not to mention, it has a pirate ship in the playground for kiddos to play. Love that it has a lot of shade and picnic tables/benches throughout the entire park. There is also tennis courts, a kidspace children’s museum, and a fitness trail. So much to do, I just adore this park!! #bb5

Park restrooms definitely need some TLC and some up to date remodeling being have a very serious incarcerated slab of metal/stone feel to them. I understand public spaces can be dirty except you can tell when park facilities have been neglected by the caretakers if you've frequented said park many times. Children's pirate play area is vast and if your a parent be prepared to roam around the circuital walkway due to it being designed like a giant sectional couch that doesn't have gaps between sections.

The stone steps are stunning but somewhat steep! Didn’t make it to the top but saw kids walking the trails. My kids loved the Pirate Playground! Very clean and accessible. Restrooms were also clean. Came on a Sunday and it wasn’t too bad.

A Beautiful day at Brookside Park. The picnic area behind the Aquatic center was the perfect place for an outdoor Covid19 compliant memorial services for Gary V. Nobles Sr., our John Muir 1977 classmate who passed in January of 2021. We waited until the Pandemic restrictions of public gatherings subsided. The Celebration of life at park was an upliftment officiated by Senior Pastor Lucious Smith of Friendship Pasadena Church to restore joy to saddened hearts. Participants donated store bought picnic food and love on one another. A good time had by all. Peace and blessings. DENA LIFE

A beautiful park with walking trails, playgrounds, ballfields and picnic areas spread all around the park. The aquatic center is located here too. Large parking lots so there is always plenty of parking. Park is close to the trails along the Arroyo Seco, though you have to cross a sometimes busy street to get to them.

Love this park! It has a HUGE parking lot so it’s super convenient. The playground is located near the rear. There are lots of tall trees that provide great trees. A TON of picnic tables for large parties. I don’t believe I have ever seen bbq grills at this park though. The playground gym is sooooo cute and creative. It’s a ocean pirate ship theme and it’s great play for all ages. To the side of the gym is a sand area with a water feature for making mud pies. Definitely don’t forget your sand toys. There is usually a collection of buckets and shovels donated from park goers left lying around but I always bring our own. Great park that feels clean, safe, and most important my kids are entertained for hours!

Great park for kids but occasionally you get some adults drinking in the area and making it a bit awkward.

This place was a lot of fun. Big green spaces and good family areas. It's next to Arroyo and rose garden. We walked from Arroyo which was less than ideal since some of the areas in Arroyo really smelt like sewage. next time id come directly here

My 9 month old grandson just loves his swimming class. I love that the bleachers are covered for all to enjoy watching their family during swim class. I also love that we are rotated out after class so others can enjoy watching their family during the next swim class so there is room for everyone!

Brookside Park near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena is one of my favorite parks. There's a playground and many nice spots to hang out and just chill. The surroundings are beautiful and the view of the mountains is awesome. I find this park to be very relaxing.

I grew up at this park since I was young ,I ran through every trail known, as a kid you could unsupervised, but now things have changed..be careful when it's dark...a cool place if you want to take a chick and do stuff that you parents shouldn't know! 😈

Pretty much a parenting mecca - 2 playgrounds (one pirate ship themed!), tons of open field space, a kids' museum, and flat car-free roads to practice biking and scooter riding. Plus some hills & trails for the climbing-inclined. We go twice a week, and my kids are never bored!

Beautiful park in the Arroyo and completely encircling the Rose Bowl. Ideal for joggers, bikers and walkers who want to stretch their legs and get out in the sun. Plenty of free parking is available. If you are a swimmer like me, don’t miss the Pasadena Aquatics Center at the south end. Kidspace is next door to the north.

Excellent park for the kids. Pretty big playground and the place is clean. Also, there is a lot of parking here. Pasadena, in general, is just a beautiful city in my opinion. Worth driving to for our family.

Stumbled through here after a music festival at the Rose Bowl in the dark. It felt semi safe and we beat the crowd. Looks like it would be beautiful during the day, very clean.

This park is pretty nice. I enjoy walking around and using the exercise equipment. Some of the equipment needs maintenance/repairs, but most of it is in working order. It seems that folks are content to use the park for a variety of sports and other physical activities as well. I enjoy using the Pirate ship playground, which seems to be the newest and biggest playground in the park. Most of the features work still, and the slidey thing you can hang from gives me the opportunity to swash some buckles. Avast ye, etc. The landscape is in good condition. The south eastern side is curious, kind of ruinous with old stone structures that look disused. It's kind of cool, but also kind of sad that the city has allowed it to become dilapidated. The park is kept pretty clean, not a lot of litter inside the park. The knobs that tailgate in the parking lot have left pieces of themselves, trash that is, in that parking lot. The bathrooms are usually in decent condition and not too smelly. The picnic tables seem ok but I haven't really used them. There's not much of an unhoused population which, is kind of surprising. Occasionally I've seen coyotes, who keep a distance away. I think it's pretty cool to see them. There is no dog park, but that doesn't stop people from taking their dogs out, pretty cute. And I don't remember seeing any dog poop left uncollected.

Large park to enjoy! Lots of people around and overall feels safe. The field lighting is not great if you are playing on the softball fields.

It's a beautiful park full of history. There is a world class golf course there, not to mention the Rose Bowl, an Olympic swimming center, and ball fields for the city softball leagues that I have participated in. Look up the history of this park and you will be impressed. I'm proud to be a local Pasadena resident!

Beautiful, well-kept park. Great for recreational activities with the family. As far as I could tell, everyone was respectful of social distancing and wearing masks, even while active. Looking forward to coming back.

This is a lovely small neighborhood park, with a nice climbing/play structure for children. There are also picnic benches and large ball fields.

The pirate park (Reese's Retreat) is behind the Rosebowl Aquatic Center. This is an accessible playground with ramps onto the play structure and accessible swings. There's also a rocking boat. Brookside park also has another playground near Kidspace museum. There are numerous picnic areas throughout the park. Also check out the walking trails in the park that go up the hill.

Best park around. Everything from huge lawns to run on, playgrounds, baseball fields, trails to walk , even swimming pools. Bring a bag a charcoal and some ribs eyes too, because they have grills. We've seen huge owls at sunset. Best park!

My favorite park in the area. It’s always clean, safe, and only busy on weekends. Plenty of play areas for big kids, not so much the younger little ones. The picnic tables are a bit grimey but that’s to be expected with all public parks, they have a sand / water area so I recommend extra sandals!

This is a Beautiful Park! I hope to go inside one day. Plenty of parking and handicap parking. Keep up the good work. Re-model when necessary, to keep our children safe! Thank you
