BEST BEACH FOOD RESTAURANT EVER!! (As in looking good at the beach) Had lunch 3 of my 4 days on a trip to Santa Monica. The Skinny Cobb Salad was just perfectly joyful to eat for reasons you'd hear talked about on the Food channel, yet light enough for beach body maintenance. The atmosphere was subtly spirited with the perfect balance of hippieness and class. Plus, it is right BY the beach! Again, this is for sure my number 1 pick for beach food, and - not to be forgotten - a fun dining experience!😄💪🐠🐟🌻🌞🌊🏊🏄🍉🍍🍅

I threw my sister a baby shower at Flower Child and Scott, the Assistant General Manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was extremely accommodating, kind, professional, and worked with us to make the event so smooth. The staff was very friendly too. This place has a positive vibe. For a party of 20, we were able to use half the room upstairs for our private event. The food was delicious! Everyone kept raved about the appetizers! I would highly recommend having an event here.

I was a fan of this place for a while since living nearby. Great vibe and good healthy food in even healthier portions. It gets really busy now around lunch time or weekends. Over time, However, I’ve noticed the quality go down significantly (over/under cooked salmon or unevenly cooked green beans). This last experience will probably be the last of my visits in a good while. Photo included. My sautéed spinach was so unevenly cooked that half looked raw and ready to party in a salad. My avocado was not ripe at all and literally ice cold!!! I ate my protein and left most of the sides. I did tell a female worker/manager monitoring dishes coming out of the kitchen and she did offer to make me a new plate. Kind of her but not the point I wanted to make - quality control and consistency is paramount! I hope they do improve and not lose more patrons. Maybe one star is harsh. But this is California and nobody messes with avocados! 🥑🥑 🥑 ❤️

Went to this place the day I arrived to Santa Monica. The guy at the counter was super nice. Loved the atmosphere and concept of the place. Reasonable price. Food was ok. But the waitress made the whole experience terrible. She served almost as if throwing a plate. Wont be back.

If you want healthy and controlled portion size THIS IS THE PLACE. Love the ambience! Nice and bright with natural light. Lovely decor, very encouraging statement signs on the wall. Nice furniture. Food.. small, very small, portions. Mac and cheese-tasty. Brussels sprouts-tasty. Sweet potato pasta dish (that my nephew ordered) very good. I didn't care too much for my salad. It had a smokey flavor of some sort(even though I asked for no smoke almonds ) and way too much salad dressing for my liking. I ate it because I was hungry so it was tolerable. I added the salmon and I wish it would of been hotter (temperature) . As a matter of fact, all of our food was not as hot as we like. This is a two story establishment and we sat upstairs, where it is super roomy and nice. I will definitely go back.

We had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was both fresh and flavorful. The staff was so incredibly friendly! After taking photos of the adorable bohemian cheery decor I noticed the managers were learning about new menu items. I asked to take photos and they quickly encouraged me to. Then they offered a sample as well. We left on cloud 9- enjoying the food, hospitality and atmosphere!

Probably my favorite restaurant ever! I can’t even choose a favorite item on the menu because everything is equally delicious! In my 3 day stay in Santa Monica, I visited Flower Child 3 times because it’s just that good! Great gluten free and healthy options for both their breakfast and lunch/dinner menu! Great environment and even better food.

Wanted a fresh option for lunch in Santa Monica and tried Flower Child. Huge space indoors with 2 floors of seating and 3-4 tables outside. Counter service and an extensive menu to chose from! We had a glow bowl and avocado hummus with fresh veggies and pita. The avocado hummus was unique and I loved the array and fresh vegetables (all super fresh and a good crunch). I liked the varying flavors of the glow bowl, most especially the sweet potato! Some of the flavor pairings didn’t seem to go well together, though. I liked the bowl ingredients stand alone but not mixed together! Pricey but quality was definitely there.

A nice stop for quick + healthy lunch! They have new flavors of kombucha on tap that are quiet delicious. But most notably their list has a lot of vegan options that can be edited to include meat for any meat eaters in the group ! Quiet versatile. mellow positive vibes all through the restaurant. There is additional seating upstairs! Located right outside a parking garage that was about $2.00 for 2 hours. We enjoyed their salad with an added salmon and their noodles 🍜. Very fast service.

Definately get a salad here. They are fairly large. They also have an upstairs space that’s more private than the main room. I’d recommend eating up top.

I had a kale salad, that includes, red cabbage, apple, rasin, grapefruit, crushed salted almond, and sprinkle of chesse. dressing on the side. it was exactly what i want, no added excess olive oil, vegetable was fresh. everybite was nutrition and tasty. Healthy fare for reasonable price and nice to be here physically and eat it. Noodles w chicken has various goodies and salty good. Creative quinoa a SoCal native food. Both cold and hot food. Upper deck is a hidden gem if you have a large crowd to fit somewhere. This place is a multiple times per week place and has big takeout business too. Bowls and plates seem better than normal plastic. Even broccoli was steamed nice. Perfect for a nice mid-meal snack which won’t be too heavy. Portions are splittable of light eating. Great for various diets. Across from Ye Olde King’s.

Came here with a vegan friend and I was pleasantly surprised! They had a large selection of options and even had meat options as well. The atmosphere was all together really cool and I had a great experience. The staff was also super friendly! Vegans and non vegans will all fall in love with flower child!

Talk about a one stop shop! This place can cater to anyone and everyone, from health conscious to just downright picky. Everyone in our group got something to eat and we all loved it. Prices are reasonable for California lol..Staff were nice and friendly, helpful and patient with my little ones. Line ups can take a bit around 1pm but definitely worth the wait. Highly recommended and will be back..

Health-focused, bright eatery with two levels. Haven’t had their breakfast yet, but I’ll go for lunch whenever I want a quick bite. There’s a ton of gluten-free/vegan/vegetarian options so it’s a good spot if you have food restrictions. I like getting the turkey wrap or the Thai dye, which is a tofu wrap. They come with a side salad and you can get food to-go or to eat there. Note that there are more tables upstairs. There’s kombucha which I like a lot, as well as really fresh lemonades. You order at the counter and then grab a number. The waiters will find you if you ordered to eat there. There are restrooms available on the second floor (you need to take the stairs up, no elevator). There’s a city parking garage directly across that’ll give the first 90 min for free. They do take credit card and there’s no free WiFi. Overall it’s a really cute spot to have some healthy food.

Im just finishing my first meal here, and it is garbage. I got the steak entree with Brussels sprouts and mac n cheese. the mac n cheese is yummy fortunately. The steak says "cooked medium" It is so overcooked it is dry and unchewable. I feel like itd been sitting under the heat lamp for 5 hours and tastes like dog food. The Brussels sprouts are so vinegary I cant even eat them. Do yourself a favor and go to urban plates for the same meal 1000x better and 40% cheaper. Ill be going to Hiho next door to get a grassfed burger seeing im still starving 🤷🏼‍♀️
