We had the good dinner at Surawon. Luckily it wasn’t busy on Sunday evening. The restaurant has the parking lot behind the restaurant. The menu is very good. You can choose either just soontofu or combo (main dishes with soontofu). We had the combos. The seafood leek pancake is fantastic. You have to try. And of course the tofu is best. If you can handle spicy level, that’s where you should go. But definitely have to be patient when you eat the tofu. It’s super hot. 😅😅

This place is sooo delicious. The owner is so sweet as well. Great spot to go traditional korean tofu soup and other classics. Ingredients are all fresh here! Love it!

Loved all the dishes; I don’t think you can go wrong with any. One standout, the raw crab, is especially amazing. It has a very jelly texture and it tasted so good with its soy sauce. The beef short ribs were good but not as tender as I would like. The glass noodles were quite delicious and bouncy. All the tofu soups we got were delicious. We got Assorted, Beef intestine, mushroom. It was worth it to pay for the soy bean black tofu. The assorted had a good variety. Beef intestine was good but could be an acquired taste for others. The mushroom was good. The service could be better but there was also only 1 waitress serving the entire restaurant so we were understanding.

Looking for a warm, comforting meal after a long work day? Missing momma’s home-cooked flavors while living all alone in the big city? Come here. Their banchan are all amazing. Their tofu is made in house. The soul itself is piping hot. I’d honestly say it’s not that much better than BCD, but if you want to go somewhere less crowded, you should come here.

Peace out BCD, I've finally found someone better than you and I'm never looking back. If you've never tried Surawon before, you need to re-evaluate your life choices and head on over. The tofu tastes distinctly different than any other restaurant's tofu. I can't put my finger on it, but it definitely tastes superior than the competition's. The seafood pancake was a little thinner than I would have liked, but it was nevertheless delicious. I'm sure everyone's talked about it, but they serve very fresh kimchi here. Every Korean has their kimchi preferences so I won't recommend this style to everyone but I'm definitely a fan of it. If you're accustomed to spicy food, I would size up on the spicy level. I ordered the Medium but it just wasn't cutting it. One of my friends ordered a X Spicy tofu but it just tasted Spicy to me. I don't know if a taqueria occupied this space before Surawon, but I felt like I was in a Mexican pueblo with the cactus chandelier and the shelves that looked perfect for a religious candle to be placed. There isn't anything bad about this, but I was getting weird vibes from the clashing of cultures.

Delicious comfort and authentic Korean food. Feels like you're eating at your Korean aunties home.

I got the tofu (black bean) and galbi combo. The galbi is thicker than BCD’s but it wasn’t tender. The galbi tastes good, but it also requires a lot of chewing. I honestly prefer BCD for both the tofu soup and galbi. The black bean tofu is interesting. I like the fact that they give multigrain rice. The service is really good and the waitresses are friendly. The environment is super nice because it’s spacious and I don’t feel rushed to eat.

#1 place for authentic Sundubu or more known to non Koreans as Soontofu. We go to this place at least twice a month, food is great and just feels like home, nice folks too! Banchans are spectacular! Everything else is authentically amazing. This week, had seafood sundubu and mackerel to pair. This is our go to place when friends want me to take them to authentic Korean restaurants in Ktown LA, never fails. Happy to learn friends go to this place on their own after!

I’m vegan and the stone pot bibimbap was delicious. It was large and great for the price. I ordered without meat and egg and it had plenty of veggies in it. It was filling!

I love this place, it’s my go-to tofu house and I’m usually craving it several times a month. They have amazing banchan, my favorites are the super fresh kimchi and pickled cucumbers. I like that they have barley tea and the option for purple rice, and so many great soondubu combo options. I usually get the medium kimchi soondubu and it’s always so comforting and delicious. The ajummas that run the place are also so sweet.

Known for making their own tofu from black soy beans, their soondubu is uniquely flavorful. Great side dishes as well.

Delicious! Authentic korean dishes. They provide water and some type of korean iced tea. Each table has a call button on the wall to call the waiter which I thought was neat. The atmosphere reminded me of the kdrama scenes that I've watched.

Amazing food would highly recommend. I got the seafood tofu with raw marinated crab and my friend got the same thing, but with Bulgogi. WE ended GIVING BACK THE BEEF Bulgogi I would recommend NOT to get it tasted not the best and very VERY fatty. The sides were super amazing and fresh and the beverages were amazing. I would say that was one of the best kimchi I’ve ever had. Atmosphere is very busy. We went in the afternoon.Service is okay

Excellent sundubu including the rarely seen black soy bean tofu. The tofu and banchan all have a good homey taste. The seafood pancake is also a highlight of the menu. Come early as this small restaurant gets busy around meal time.

Great for any group with vegetarians and non-veggies. We ordered the vegetarian black soy tofu mushroom soup with vegetarian pancake. My husband ordered the stone pot bibimbap. Everything was delicious and hearty. The soup particularly was very tasty and perfect Korean comfort food. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Wow this place is incredible. My favorite tofu house so far! We got two seafood tofu soup combos, one with spicy raw marinated crab and another with spicy pork. Both were a really great deal with great portion sizes. Seafood is really fresh, banchan was great and the spicy pork sooo flavorful. If I lived here I would go every week.

an LA staple. the soondubu and bibimbap are both top tier. Definitely gets busy around peak hours and parking is especially difficult at that time so I'd recommend coming early or being prepared to wait.

Loved everything we got! The original beef tofu soup and beef bulgogi. So glad bcd was so busy that we go to try this place. Got the combo to share between two people and thought that was enough. Highly recommend!

Came on a busy Friday night and it took about 45 minutes to get seated for a party of 2. It is very small inside so that explains the wait. The employees are running around everywhere and you have to keep stopping them if you need anything. They never come to your table if you need anything so for service I’d give a 2/5. The food comes out within 10 minutes of ordering and comes out piping hot. Very tasty just wish the meat portions were bigger.

Delicious Korean food. Loved the egg and fish cake sides. Entrees come with a bowl of rice. Worth the price and the drink they serve is very refreshing.

The LA Galbi and Soondubu here is amazing! (LA Galbi in general is so good) The way they make it here is so flavorful. The side dishes always taste fresh and they sometimes switch it up. But theres always kimchi! The workers are super nice and try their best :) Theres parking available in the back. Turn on Dewey Street and theres an opening there. If you are driving West of W. Olympic St, make a right (right before the Surawon Restaurant) or turn right on Dewey St.

Surawon Tofu House is a delicious established place. Their tofu soup options are plenty. Their hot stone plate bibimbap is delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try the other delicious food they have to offer.

If you're in the mood for Korean food and haven't yet been to Surawon Tofu House, then you're missing out on a unique and heartwarming experience. As a vegan, I sometimes struggle to find satisfying options at Korean restaurants, but Surawon Tofu House went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I ordered the tofu stonepot bibimbap, which was absolutely delicious, and was delighted to discover that the restaurant offered unlimited bonchon on the side. I left feeling full and content, not only because of the food, but also because of the exceptional service provided by the staff. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant added to the lively atmosphere, and the service was truly one of a kind. I was made to feel welcomed and appreciated throughout my meal. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and can't wait to return for more of Surawon Tofu House's amazing food and service.

Super tasty and fresh soon dooboo! I was sad to see Beverly Soon Tofu close, but Surawon is also great. The broth was rich and umami, and the tofu was soft and fresh. We also ordered the grilled pork, which was nice and juicy, and it also had a nice grill flavor.

They serve a choice of results tofu or black bean tofu and have water base as an option for the broth. I would not say anything is vegan here but maybe- asking and making sure would be the best bet. Great tasting soups - soon. Parking lot is not that great at all but it’s LA nothing new with that.

My favorite soon tofu restaurant in Los Angeles. I ordered the fish egg soon tofu. I didn't expect it to have so much flavor. It was so good. I loved all the side dishes especially the egg jim. We also ordered the raw crab and that was good too. However, the soon tofu is the best. I also tried some of the Galbi tang and that was delicious too. They gave a generous portion of meat. After Beverly Soon tofu closed down during the Covid-19 lockdown, the only place I went to was BCD tofu house. This is now my favorite soon tofu restaurant. I highly recommend giving this place a try and it might be your favorite too!

Went into here with high expectations as multiple people have mentioned that this is the best soondubu in Ktown. We enjoyed the tofu but the soup was a bit lacking in flavor, which defeated the purpose of the dish for us. Maybe an off day?

Delicious tofu soup! First time trying black soybean tofu soup, would highly recommend and will likely come again. The beef short rib was also very good. Banchan/Sides and seafood pancake were okay.

Delightful service, delicious food, and a charming ambience. There’s usually parking, which is quite convenient. I love this place, and it is my go-to Korean restaurant.

Got that homey rustic vibe to go with real down to earth food. Okay, kimchi was a little fresh and could have been fermented for more flavor, but it still tasted great. Leek pancake is superb. Shirt rib was I little tuf but also tasty. Soontofu, great flavor, lots of good tofu, could have more meat and spice but I'm not mad. Quick and pleasant service. Cold soju and bokbunja. LA prices. Get some!

Great place for comfort Korean food. Enjoyed the variety of small dishes with the amazing brown rice. The tofu made in house with black soybean indeed stood out. Was also impressed by the ox knee soup - meat supremely tender!
