The Oxnard Levity Live. Just went last night to see Bert Kreischer, the show was great but the place is horrible, way over crowded. They pack you in so tightly that it’s unbearable and painful to enjoy the show. I had more leg room on cheep flights. The drinks are so water down you’re going to need a life vest. The waiters get in the way of the show to the point that it makes it hard to pay attention to what’s happening. There is a two item minimum that they force you to buy on top of paying $60.00 per ticket. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I will never go there again. Worst experience I ever had at a comedy club.

Not bad at all... But not great. Saw Bill Bellamy here on a weekend. He was "ok". His opener wasn't funny at all. The service and drinks I'd say are below average. The food is way below average. You do have a 2 item minimum. Also, the drinks are "ok" at best. A bit overpriced and don't go for the souvenir cup. It's overpriced and they will give you an old used glass. I thought that was tacky considering it was $13. Probably won't be going back unless it's someone I REALLY wanna see, and I get free tickets, which is pretty common here. Can't recommend it... Your not missing out on much if you haven't gone. Food 5/10 Drinks 3/10 service 5/10 venue 6.5/10

Totally honest here. Nice venue comedy was good so I can give 4-5 stars. But the food and prices are a 1 star. Do not eat here. Eat before you go. If they have a minimum just grab a couple sodas and enjoy the show. And heckling is part of the comedy world.

I’ve been here twice and the first time was average, but my most recent attendance was incredibly disappointing. First of all this venue is way too crowded and cramped. The tables are so small you hardly have enough room for two drinks and one plate. On top of that all the seats and tables are so close together you’re bumping elbows with people on every side and hardly have space for your legs. Mind you I’m not very tall at 5’7” and I’m about average build. So if you’re taller than 5’7” or larger in size it’s probably going to be even worse. You’ll also have to be bobbing and weaving around the people in front of you to be able to see the performers if you’re sitting at any of the non-VIP seats. Ordering food and drinks is also a pain. If you want water they only offer bottled for $5. So be prepared to pay Disneyland prices for water. The electronic ordering never works. I tried everything I could and just kept getting system errors. Happened with multiple cards and phones, so definitely not user error. I then had to wait about 45 minutes trying to get someone’s attention before I was able to order. My waiter had to ask numerous times what I wanted, even though I only ordered a drink and one entree. They then came back 10 minutes later and asked again. After all that my food that was brought out wasn’t what I ordered. They ended up bringing me my check before my correct food came out. They didn’t give me any utensils either. I ended up just asking for a box and taking it home since the show was essentially over at that point. Overall, I really can’t recommend this place. The entertainment is great, but you’re better off making the drive to LA since whoever you’re seeing will probably be doing a show there anyways.

Firstly, a line was already formed for entrance. A security guard came out and barked at everyone to go behind a bush. He followed everyone over and kept yelling as they were doing so. Everyone around us was complaining about how rude and hostile the security guard was. The line got totally mixed up and people at the front were now at the back. We had to wait outside in the heat, sweating and getting sunburned, well past the time doors were supposed to open. Then once inside, after spending $40 each on tickets and another $40 each for the two item minimum, they refused us a glass of water. They said we would have to purchase any drinks instead. Really? We each just spent $80 each and stood in the hot sun for half an hour getting yelled at just to get in here and you won't let us have 1 glass of water? Are you serious? I would’ve ordered dinner but instead waited until after the show to eat because I didn’t want to give them more of my money after that. Seriously has gone downhill. Would rather go to other comedy clubs in the area for the same shows.

First time at the Oxnard Levity and we loved this place. It is off the 101 freeway, located in an the heart of a shopping village. It is also part of a pretty restaurant with live music. So you can come early grab dinner before the show or stay after for more drinks and enjoy the live music. The venue itself is well taken care of, the service was fantastic, and Felipe Esparza was hilarious, we also loved his openers, amazing show. The only negative was the audio was not clear, was muffled which sometimes made it difficult to understand what Felipe Esparza was saying.

The service SUCKS!!! Had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks (which was just soda). Had to ask 3 different servers for our refills, was told they would get our server who never showed up. Our food was served quickly, but who wants to eat without something to drink. My significant other and I attend alot of shows but the services is just getting worse.

I understand the "pack 'em in" mentality, but there really needs to be one less chair per side of table. It's so tight. Drinks/water are pretty expensive. Food was decent. The poor wait staff (all very kind) has to continually squeeze in between people n tables and talk to customers, really disrupting the show. It's not their fault, it's just the way this works... but it's annoying.

Great comics. The food and drinks are delicious and reasonabley priced. You can usually find discount tickets for most shows on their socia media pages. Even the Regular price tickets are priced very inexpensive and worth every penny. Just be prepared to purchase two drinks or food items per person. But, That is the standard In all comedy clubs. My one gripe is with the comedy club waitresses. They are loud, and disruptive to the show. So much so, that I have seen comics take notice and comment about it during the show. They need to handle themselves more professionally. Update: I updated this review after management responded. They acknowledge my issue and said they would address it. That is how a complaint is handled, other businesses should take note. Thank you Levity Live! Your attention to the customer experience and your overall professionalism is appreciated. This place is a “Highly Recommend” for a date night, Girls Night, Boys night, work party, etc. You can’t go wrong with a couple drinks and a great comedy show!

I wish I could say something about the food but that was a no go as I waited so long into the show for it that I figured it wasn't coming so I decided to cancel it. Drinks took equally as long when the server actually showed up to take the order. Apparently last call happens quite early and no one will tell you. You'll just get your tab. Additionally, we ordered limes and a water that didn't come for 35 minutes. By the way you can only order bottles...The headliner, Titus, was awesome, however. The saving grace of the evening. Venue-terrible and this ain't my first rodeo so I have an idea....

Great venue for comedy shows. I believe the capacity is about 500, so anywhere you sit is a good view. However, when I visited it felt over crowded. It was a sold out show and they were very understaffed. Staffed struggled to take your order and get you served. I seen people who had tickets get turned away because capacity was full. So get there early, not even a ticket gets you in. If all that wasn’t an issue I’d give them 5 starts.

Let me start off by saying that I took about a month to calm down before I decided to actually go through with writing this review. The performers were absolutely fantastic, but I cannot say the same about the staff or the mouthy manager. Apparently it's their policy not to offer free tap water if that's what you request. I'm sorry, but if I'm buying 2 entrees, and 4 alcoholic beverages, I'm not paying for water. Is that even legal??! I don't care about the 2 item minimum(strange, but I can look past that), but when I ask for ice water after ordering over their required minimum and specifically say "I don't want water from a bottle" to the server, that's not an unreasonable request. Then 10 minutes later have a to have a foul attitude sorry excuse for a manager that barely handle herself get lippy with me and start a scene at my table because it was a funny trick to have a server pour a bottle of water in a glass and not tell me in an effort to overcharge me for a water. Get outta here!!! Then she has the audacity to say that that is what I should expect next time I go there? Is this the real world?

First, I want to mention that I am a student working two jobs, and have had a few unfortunate events recently happen, so I was really looking forward to seeing Ms Pat the other night. The comedians were great, HOWEVER the quality of this venue is horrible. The bass was up way too high when I was seated in the leftmost, long table section. I paid for tickets and the 2 item per person requirement just to hear 40% of what the performers we're saying. Almost every time there was laughter, I was left wondering what was so funny? I felt like I wasted my money.

Bought tickets for Phil Medina for my 3 friends and myself for New Years. They overbooked and refused entry, but said they'd refund my $80, but it would take 5-7 business days, OH! and I forfeit the $20 "processing fee". So, my friends and I drive to there in heavy rain, on New Years, just to have my money put on hold for 5-7 business days, AND $20 STOLEN and told to go home..which we did since every other place was booked up.....Happy New Year! Thank you LEVITY for starting my new year with utter disappointment. May your business crumble.

Worst place ever. Entertainment is great, but the staff is clueless & the levity itself is very unorganized. I don’t see myself coming back. There’s comedy shows in Santa Paula that are run better and I recommend everyone go to support them instead.

Was there for a private event. Service was better than the last 3 times I had been there, not sure if it has gotten better or if it was because it was a private event. Food is ok. Drinks were better than the drinks we got from Copper Blues (attached to levity) before we went into the event. Sat in a booth, and we were comfortable and able to see. If you sit right in front at tables, you may need to be looking up, and the elbow room isn't great.

Great place for live comedy! Seem short staffed when we went but the staff seemed to be working overtime to get food/drink orders in a timely fashion. Not an easy feat with a lage group! All in all a great time watching big name comics.

Nice intimate setting, the food seemed like it was microwaved, even the salad was disappointing. Staff was nice, audio wasn’t the best quality. This has nothing to do with Levity but comedians talking about their genitals gets really old, especially if everyone in the lineup is going to do it.

Saw Ben Brainard here & had an absolute blast. Food was tasty, drinks were good & the set was fantastic. Only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the seating arrangements. Unless you spring for a private table for 4, you'll be seated at one of several longer communal tables with strangers. Makes ordering/eating/getting food/etc kinda awkward & would be a concern for anyone not ok getting cozy with strangers.

My first time going to this place was last week and let me say I’m newish to Oxnard but out all the places we have found and gone to. THIS IS MY FAVORITE! The food and the comedy show was 11/10 both ! The mozzarella sticks were fresh and hot and cheesy and my face hurt the next day from laughing and grinning so much at the lineup . can’t wait to go again !

First time at the venue and while it seems it would be packed for a full house, we had some tables nearby for breathing room(Thursday night show) and overall food was good, drinks as well and had a fun time.

I personally really like the venue and have enjoyed every comedy show I’ve seen here. The smaller room definitely has made shows feel more intimate and staff have always been accommodating if you are polite. Drinks are good and food is okay, although i don’t know who goes to a comedy show to eat. Would recommend this club to anyone looking to experience comedy or see their favorite headliner. Beware though tickets for big names can sell out quick!

I've seen 4 comic acts here and really enjoyed 3 of them. Ticket prices vary by comic. The food and drinks are pricey but good. The staff do a good job of seating people quickly. I mark down one star because it can get so crowded in the seating. I wish they could change the layout.

I would definitely go back to this venue. The drink and food options were good. Reasonably priced. General admission seats were good quality. There was a lot of security upon entering the venue, but the staff was professional and the process was quick.

AMAZING food, good drinks, not a bad view in the venue. Service takes a little while if the show is packed. We saw a very popular comedy and it was completely packed. Sharing a table with 4 other couples packed. If you have social anxiety you might want to think about how full the venue will be with whomever you go to see.

  • 4/5 Benjamin A. 6 months ago on Google
Seating situation is terrible. Booths aren't able to be purchased unless you buy 4 separate seats. Food is good enough and the comics are simply judged on a day to day basis. If you get a trash seat then you will have a neck breaking experience. And they try to pack you in so just be aware of that. If I could get a booth I would.

This is amazing Comedy Club! The best comedians, tasty food and drinks. My husband and I are coming here almost every month. And it is so close to SF valley. I highly recommend for a date night. So much Fun!
