The hospital administration operates below 3rd world country socialized medicine standards. Due to the fact that they have lost their compassion for caring for all human beings….. This place is a must if you enjoy Greek Tragedies. My family member has major critical surgery today and only one family member can be with her.........So only the favorite son can be with her and the black sheep of the family can only wait outside the hospital……WAIT OUTSIDE NOW. Imagine the thoughts of undue emotional stress to the patient. That they might not ever see their family ever again. No teleconferencing system, too bad even though they pull in hundreds of millions of dollars per year. This place is more like an expensive swamp meet with lots of makeup and the entrance staff here have literally feel nothing in their souls. What’s mind blowing is that the staff at my veterinarian hospital are more compassionate with animals and people than they are here. Oh and there are no restrooms anywhere so just rent an Recreational Vehicle if you have to come down.

My son is severely sick and my husband took him to this hospital. So disappointing since I gave birth here twice and had enjoyed my stay here. My husband and my 1 year old son was there since 10pm and ended up leaving at 2:30am because no saw them and my son was extremely uncomfortable and was terribly sick. I am currently pregnant again and I most likely will not come back here for this birth. The ER is so disappointing when treating babies and children. How can you treat these children like this??? Suffering in the cold while they are feeling miserable. I’m so disappointed and upset.

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. EVER. My dad at 72 yo drove there earlier today after briefly having symptoms of a heart attack. He felt better upon arrival and they triaged him with vitals and a blood draw. 10 hours later he left. Never saw a doctor and no follow-up vitals were ever taken. If up to me he wouldn't have come here. Back in 2007 my wife and I came here with our 2 yo who was in pain for a possible broken arm. Finally got in to see a doctor who fixed her arm with a simple rotation that took all of 30 seconds. No bone break but the elbow tendons got twisted. We were in the ER that day for 14 hours. Unless you're in a deep coma go to another hospital and if in an ambulance do yourself a favor by pushing the back door open and throw yourself onto the street. You'll get better care. There aren't enough negative stars to give to this fortress of ☠️.

Do not go here, the things they do to you and the way they treat you is inhumane. They falsely accused a woman of beating her daughter who was born 2 days before they accused her of the incident. I’m not sure why they are doing this or why this hospital is targeting people, specifically new mothers but you need to watch out, and I would recommend going to a whole other hospital. They are teaming up with child services to make false claims in order to take children. It’s sick. This includes both the doctors, the nurses, and the rest of the staff won’t speak in fear of losing their jobs. Be safe out there.

Do not go to this hospital, if you are dying or very sick you will more than likely die in the waiting room waiting for someone to come help you. I went to the ER today at 2:30 am, I am pregnant and having severe flank pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. My pain is so bad that I am visually breaking out into a sweat to where the nurse is telling me that I look extremely uncomfortable. They triaged me at the tents and then took me inside. When I got inside, they took me back to get my vitals and then sent me back to the Covid area because they said they wanted me to get tested for Covid even though I have no symptoms! So I am pregnant and forced to sit in a tent full of Covid positive people waiting for results that came out negative after 2 hours of waiting outside, (with Covid infected people) they send me inside. I waited 10 more hours inside and was not called, I inquired about when I would be called several times, they had no answer, they only treated my pain once at 4:30 am!!! I asked them can I at least get my pain treated again, I am in agony! The nurse said he would check and never came back to help me. They were taking in people who had been there way after me and getting them out quickly. Meanwhile I waited in the ER for 12 hours with not one doctor seeing me. I left the hospital because I had not slept in over 24 hours, and I started to feel sicker than what I felt already! I now have a fever at home and still have my same symptoms!!! Do not go here! They are horrible. Hopefully I don’t die at home because this hospital failed to properly treat me!

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. I was admitted through the emergency department which I was at for a whole day waiting for a room to be available. I was in severe pain that resulted in me crying and physically shutting down but the doctors refused to give me anything but Tylenol which did not work. After being admitted into a room, I waited 3 days in pain to see a surgeon who then refused to do the procedure. I was then told I would be discharged despite nothing having been done and I left in the exact same pain that I was when I came in. This is incredibly frustrating for someone who absolutely does not like to be in hospitals and poked with needles but I let them insert an iv despite my severe phobia of needles only for it to be all for nothing. Can’t wait to NEVER come back here again, this is absolutely ridiculous.

Terrible and rude employees. Receptionist desk Ashley and Monica give attitudes to customers. They MUST learn how to speak to customers in a nice tone of voice. My father had surgery and I went to visit him March 26th and drove 2 hours. They simply cannot just give attitudes to customers explaining only 2 visitors allowed daily. Instead they give you attitudes. No morals and ethics. I would definitely stay away from Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Extremely sad and disappointing environment and employees.

My wife had a miscarriage after sitting in the emergency room for 3 hours. Then they took blood and told us to wait another 3 hours, after that they took her back for an ultrasound then made us wait 4-1/2 hours to talk to a doctor for 5 min. (10-1/2 hours total wait time) Staff is very unempathetic, immature, and lacking any sense of urgency. By far the most disgusting ER I have ever seen with blood and mucus on the floor of the waiting room. Urine, feces, and toilet paper all over the bathroom floors. Almost third worldly, you would honestly think this is a joke in 2022, but this is the reality of Long Beach Memorial Emergency Room. If you love your family go anywhere else. Go ANYWHERE else.

Surgery doc and nurses were awesome. Then my husband was moved to a room amd nurses were terrible. They were never there. Room was hotter than Hell. He had a knee replacement and they would not give him his prescribed pain meds. Rude, lazy nurses. Worst bedside manner ever. They deserve 0 stars.

This hospital has some really good people working here. Some of your employees are trash and should not be working in this field. I hope someone reads this. People have loved ones dying in your hospital. Some have came from across the country to visit there loved ones. If this nurse is rude again to me or any of my family members I will post her name here. And I promise to scream and keep posting until someone's hears me and does something about this.

This place is not so much about the employees as it is about the incredibly inadequate way in which it runs. I was a nurse for many years and even worked in the navy hospital and clinic setting. Never would you have seen where the actual Doctors clinical area would never answer their phone. You must always leave a message and of course because the staff is overworked they can’t listen to multiple messages late in the day and must return messages the next day or later. This is unacceptable when you are trying to get a quick response but not an emergency. If you can’t adequately communicate with your medical people that is the beginning of medical care going down the tubes. Medical institutions make billions of dollars. Why then can’t they hire someone to actually answer the phones? It’s because they want to make billions more for their higher up executives. They don’t pay their overworked staff what they should be paid. In all my years of working in the field I never saw such a disconnect in patient care. Especially for family members who are trying to help their elderly parents long distance with their medical care. Medicine is now a business first and patient care at the bottom. It really disgusts me. And of course there are few other options to choose from in this area so what can you do but be angry and frustrated every time you have to deal with these people. The people running this place are shameless. And they just don’t care. My mother suffers continually because this place runs like a DMV office but worse. And consequently us family members trying to help suffer too. Again this is shameful.

This place was absolutely horrible! Keep in mind we came here for a cut on my boyfriends hand that started to get infected. First off, everyone here is really quick to brush you off. Even as a patient my boyfriend has no idea what’s going on. Very very very understaffed. I very much agree with a previous comment relating this place to a 3rd world country because that’s exactly how I felt the treatment was here. Waited 8 hours before getting admitted. During that time they put him in a waiting area mixed with COVID and non COVID patients!!! Be very careful here I wouldn’t be surprised if you came here healthy and left with COVID. My boyfriend waited 30 mins just for a nurse to disconnect him from fluids so he could go to the bathroom. We would page the nurse and she would say she was coming then no response. Later to find out he had a plastic urinal in the room that no one thought to let us know the whole 30 mins we were asking for his nurse. There seems to be no common sense when hooking patients up to monitors either, they had fluids and his blood pressure gauge all twisted and on opposite sides. OH AND ALSO YOU CANNOT BE A VISITOR WITHOUT A NEGATIVE COVID TEST! Just thought I’d let people know because the first day I was there visiting no one said anything. Now I’m waiting in line for a test after I was already sitting in his room for 8 hours. Please do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here . This place has just been a nightmare.

My experience at Long Beach Memorial Hospital has been quite disappointing. I came in as a patient after meeting with an accident that left me blinded and in pain. Unfortunately, my review is far from positive. I've been waiting for medical attention for over two hours now, which is concerning given the severity of my situation. What's even more frustrating is that I've noticed other patients who arrived after me have already been seen by doctors. This stark difference in treatment time is disheartening and makes me question the prioritization of patients. The staff's attitude has also left much to be desired. I sense an air of indifference and even attitude from some of the hospital personnel. As I continue to wait in pain, this experience becomes even more unbearable due to their behavior. Overall, this has been a disgusting and disheartening experience for me. The lack of timely care, the apparent prioritization of other patients, and the attitude displayed by the staff have combined to create a distressing situation. I can only hope that my condition improves soon and that the hospital takes steps to address these issues for the sake of future patients. I'm still waiting......

This has got to be one of the worst hospitals in all of the United States. I asked for an ultrasound having PPO and being a cash patient period of course I did not get such a request granted. It has been days that I have suffered this pain and still no one has prescribed anything no 1 has given me the results of an of my ultrasound. They said I was number 4 in the queue so to speak and still no one could go over the results with me. I had to wait in a room full of very sick people for a very very long time . Even if you request the doctor to call you back to gold for your results they still will not do that period that is the most inefficient and corrupt hospital I've ever been to.

Amazing birthing doctors and nurses in the birthing unit. Postpartum ward is like a prison. Dirty And neglectful. Nurses are neglectful and have so much attitude. They didn’t help my wife bathe not once after her birth and left us unattended for hours on end. There were barely enough supplies in the post part I’m unit and when my wife asked for a cooling pad for her healing wound the nurse refused to get one for her and told her they were out of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if that unit had a long line of lawsuits for neglect. I would give zero stars but there isn’t an option.

Worst treatment ever! Do not bring your loved ones here! My son was in a car accident and he had to wait 24hrs for a eye specialist that never showed up. They didnt even clean his face. He still had dry blood all over his face. BUT DNT LET IT BE THEIR KID IN THE WAITING ROOM FULL OF BLOOD ALL OVER THEIR FACE! We demanded for them to discharge him and when they did, they even had the nerve to ask his wife why she needed a wheel chair. They even told her that going to another hospital will be the same. That he will have to wait the same amount of time. Little did they know that we took him to the number one hospital “HARBOR-UCLA MEDICAL CENTER.” We arrived at 3pm and by 5:30pm they were already working on him. Think twice before you go to Long Beach memorial. Man oh man and I thought St Marys was bad.

Extremely long wait times. Doctors and nurses hanging out laughing around but not actually working. Rude and mean staff. Many nurses giving inaccurate information. However, The Doctor was actually nice.

I was in excruciating pain with a high fever and they kept me outside in the freezing cold in a hard chair outside an outdoor tent for many hours despite my difficulty with sitting up. I fell of my chair from pain multiple times and my body was bent forward because of the pain. They took many hours getting my COVID test results back and let me suffer outside in the cold while they waited for results. Not once did anyone bother to explain what the hold up was. They had zero compassion and zero efficiency. Once my COVID results came back negative, they let me go inside to wait more hours in a very crowded, dirty, smelly waiting room where people were coughing shoulder to shoulder and babies were screaming making my headache worse. The wait was extreme. I will never recommend this ER room to anyone and I will never return unless I’m actually on the brink of death and it’s my last resort.

Been here a couple times within the last month or so and each time was another wonderful experience! I came for a scheduled stomach procedure and the staff were all very hard working and efficient. The doctors were great as well as the nurses. They're all have an incredible bedside manner and wanting to do what they can to help you. Most recently I came into the ER here. I was admitted to Miller Children's but had vitals, samples and tests done in this medical center while checking in for the ER. All the nurses I had were very understanding and gave me their full attention. They all cared a lot for me. Once more another amazing experience with MemorialCare!

I was Miss diagnosed here and thanks to them I had to go through the most horrible experience of my life. I came in here with a PAINFUL lump on my upper thigh I got sent home with “ muscle spasms” twice not once did they bother to do xray , an mri , cat scan nothing she just touched my lump & sent me on my way. So I let time go by because the doctor knows best right? My lump has gotten so big I couldn’t walk, I don’t have insurance so I didn’t want to keep going to memorial for them to tell me it’s a muscle spasms and pay for the same thing over and over, my husband decided to take me to ucla where as soon as I came in the gave me an X-ray I showed cancer cells so they did me a cat scan, an mri & a biopsy & turns out that lump along was cancer. I wish memorial would have taken me more seriously I could have avoided chemo, radiation & just had surgery off the bat, my tumor is so big it’s sitting on my main artery I could end up with metal, I could end up with a prosthetic leg. I wanted to sue my lawyer said i definitely had a case, but I’m just not that person! I hope the next person who comes in here with a lump and pain you’d take them more serious!!!

It was my first time getting surgery so I was very nervous and worried something would go wrong but my experience here was the complete opposite of that! The front desk staff was very understanding and helpful. The nurses were also awesome! They always answered my questions, were always willing to assist me and constantly checked up on me. I remember after my surgery giggling a couple of times because the nurses were just super funny which made me feel better . The anesthesiologist was patient, informative and not pushy at all and just wanted me to move forward with what I felt most comfortable with. And of course, special thanks to Dr. Morgan Taylor for taking care of me and doing such a great job with my procedure. I will no doubt come back if I need to get another procedure done. Thank you very much MemorialCare team!

I mentioned to the nurses that I was bleeding a lot every hour while on my menstrual (all day yesterday). My menstrual is usually heavy but not this heavy. I woke up with blood everywhere. They said my blood count is ok but now I’m bleeding in the lobby floor and still can’t be seen? My pad is full hour and still drips down my leg. I guess I’m not urgent enough. I was here before 6am. Maybe only 7 people here. Now the waiting room is full. Maybe this comment will go viral after I died waiting in the waiting room. Good job staff! 👍. Let’s wait till my blood count drops before I can be seen?

My ex wife and I came with my daughter for pain in her left eye everything was okay until security told me only one parent can be with my daughter, hospital policy when I ask why what's that policy base on what, they didn't give me an answer, I have to ask 3 times what the reason of that policy they didn't know why, they just know it's hospital policy, I call the police department of long Beach they told me it's not legal but it's their policy, the I can file a civil lawsuit. But it's nothing they can do, really stupid so when they send me the bill I will tell them to bill the policy because I pay taxes and hospital bills to be with my daughter in that waiting room from where they keep me out.

Do not go here! This is a horrible medical center ran by rude, narcissistic staff members. I have been bloated and in pain for a year now and my condition has been constantly downplayed and I've been told to calm down every time, despite being calm and collected in my delivery. I have been gaslit by the doctors who care only for big pharma profits in their pockets. My health and well-being is at stake and none of that has been prioritized. Please avoid this place at all costs!

I went to the accompany my partner to the hospital, because he was in great pain and destress. We entered roughly around 1:40pm and we did not end up leaving until 10pm at night, we stayed for nearly 9 hours while my partner just sit in the lobby in horrible pain. Around 7, we checked at the front desk to see how much more we have to wait, and the desk man to us the nurses were setting up our bed, and around 8:20 we asked again a lady answering many other’s questions, and she said again that they were getting ready our bed for us. I mentioned to her that its already been an hour and they said they are saying the same thing, but she said it takes time to prepare. We didnt end up getting called up until 2 hours later after that. Poor customer service! If i could rate this a negative number I would.

Not as bad as people say, most of the patients here are elderly and they don’t usually get the chance or opportunity to leave a “Google review.” Come in and see for yourself, people are nice here and they genuinely care for the patients. Don’t let one employee ruin the reputation of the hospital. Stay safe everyone, stay healthy.

Two weeks ago, I was so sick and weak and barely getting around. I checked in to ER. They admitted in the hospital where I stayed for two weeks. I received excellent care each and everyday by every nurse and their assistant. They were all so professional and friendly. The cleaning person kept my room and bathroom cleaned. When I pressed the button for the nurse, I received a response in a reasonable amount of time. The doctors came by daily to check on me and/or give me an update on my situation. Some days, I was able to select my meal preference. I enjoyed my stay there very much!!! Kudos to awesome staff there!!!

Shoutout to Nurse Claire and Dr Garcia at Labor and Delivery. I went to get induced at 42 weeks, and they gave me the best treatment and their bedside manners are amazing 🤩 There were many nurses that were great but Claire stood out above everyone and made sure I knew that they're here to help me and make me feel comfortable. She checked on me more than everyone else and she also went and got a peanut ball for me to do some exercises so I could dilate more and she taught me many tips and tricks. And Dr Garcia was amazing! She delivered my baby. She gave me lots of encouragement and reassurance. My labor experience was long (over 24hrs) but it was amazing because of the amazing staff. Thank you!

My favorite hospital! I have gave birth at this hospital twice and planning to continue there with my 3rd, I really love the staff!! Nurses and Drs treat you as if we're someone in their family, someone they care for. I unfortunately went in today for my daughter to get stitches and it was such a smooth process, I was there at 9am and by 10am I was out! Luckily the kids wait wasn't too long but in general each time I've had to go they take care of us very well.

The afternoon staff was nice, polite, and accommodating. We arrived at 4pm. When the shift changed the security and reception staff was mean and rude. They announced that the wait for a bed was 10 to 11 hours. They told people to wait in their cars for their love ones. I'm a single woman. That is unsafe at night. They suggested we go home and leave our love ones in the waiting room unattended. My spouse was suffering from elevated blood pressure and chest pains. His blood pressure went up in the waiting room.

Had an appt. with the ob/gyn dept. and met with Dr. Melissa Chambers. She was amazing, her and her intern were welcoming, trauma informed, and patient with my anxiety of being at the doctors. I was having a biopsy done and she made me feel comfortable and took every measure to make sure I felt safe. The whole staff was calm and welcoming. Left there feeling supported and informed. Honestly, great experience with Dr. Chambers.
