Quiet place serving good freshly cooked food. Waiters wear face masks. Restroom is clean. Kids can eat here too. I love their sandwiches and omelettes.

I'm hoping they were just having not a great night. Customer service was at a minimal. They seemed friendly, but service not there. It was absolutely empty, my family of five and three other families of probably three average. One server, which was the hostess and everything else it seemed. One soda each no refills or weren't asked at least. Food was ok, But, not for the prices. It was too expensive for the quality. Also, the menu say's: breakfast served all day! But I couldn't order a eggs Benedict. The kids chicken fingers were over cooked, also the pancakes as well.

Disappointing. Ridiculous. Lost my appetite. I’m not one to waste food but if you look at the pictures, there is my proof that the food was already a waste. Microwaved food looks more appetizing than this. We told our waitress that we wouldn’t eat it and we want the bill. One would think that basic common courtesy is to remove the price of the meals not eaten, but instead we were charged for them. I didn’t want them to think that we wanted it for free, so we paid. The receipt comes with a number to call, to complain, but the number doesn’t work. We paid and left disgusted. I bet this place is going to close down soon if they don’t hire professionals to cook. I made the mistake of reading reviews after my visit. Don’t make the same mistake I made! Read the reviews and just keep driving. This is not worth your time and money.

Today 11/16/21 I ordered 2 creme brulee expecting a better presented dessert and much tastier considering $17 worth for only 2. Surely first and last time I will consider going there for desserts, never been there to eat and most likely I won't. I mean how do my desserts look? Is that the way other food is prepared and served like?

Kind and friendly service from our server. We ordered the french dip with casaer salad. The salad was huge and so fresh. I had the vegetable soup and a coffee. The food was good. Have been to this location 15 yrs ago. Will come again.

Finally tried Mimis after living in Downey for 16 years, and I was not disappointed. We decided to go around 2 pm it was perfect not too crowded. Service was wonderful very friendly. Food was so good, tried mimosas and they were good. We tried the 3 course meal for 29 dollars and did not disappoint. I had the corn chowder, Parma chicken and lava cake and it was so good. Clean friendly and delicious I highly recommend. Next we want to try breakfast

I come here all the time and Darlene is my regular server. She gives the best service always with a smile and knows me well enough to know exactly what I want and how i want it. A quality I love in a restaurant server. The food is exceptional and always delicious. I recommend Mimis to anyone interested in an exceptional dining experience

It had been years since I had a French onion soup from Mimi's. Stopped in and added a Jambalaya and pasta to it. Both items were enjoyed. Soup good if not quite what I remembered. Was sat immediately and service was responsive. Restaurant was not busy. Walked away with a little pricey feel. For my self -- Jambalaya $20 -- Soup $4 -- White Russian $12 -- +tax +tip, $46 Won't bother with the drink next time as it just wasn't worth the price point. Would return again, but won't hurry back.

My family and I chose Mimi‘s café for our New Year’s Eve dinner and to spend $140, it fell short. First the food, my wife ordered the burger it was okay, one of my daughters ordered the chicken and waffles and she really liked them, my other daughter ordered shrimp pasta and it was okay, I ordered a ribeye steak with El gratin potatoes and the steak was overcooked and needed seasoning even with the herb butter on top it still needed salt and pepper. The potatoes looked like they were from the day before, they looked grayish. The waitress was nice but she was about to get off her shift and she was forgetful and was rushing us because she wanted her tip before she left. The place only had four tables of people, you would have thought they would give great service to get a bigger tip, just saying.

Darlene was fantastic, the food was great and the atmosphere superb. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. I highly recommend the French Dip and my wife suggests the Cobb Salad. Portions were large so bring your appetite. Amazing dinner!!! Two thumbs up 😃👍👍

The pasta here is delicious and the portions are sized pretty well. It wasn't too busy when we got here, so there was plenty of seats and the inside is decorately cutely for Halloween, family friendly. Darlene gave us wonderful service.

I give 5 Stars because the food was good. Our server was not nice and she had a lot of tables to serve by her self. We ask for extra glasses orange juice and she didn't bring them. The muffins are fresh. Hope they can hired more servers for bringing drinks.

The food was great! Our server , Darlene was accommodating to all of our needs and was very sweet. I had the Avocado toast and it was delicious. The bread and butter is only served upon request, but Darlene was kind enough to serve it to us :) thank you so much!

The service is always fantastic since new management took over. Their newly painted and remodeled restaurant is inviting. Our waitress Darlene is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and just awesome. It’s always a pleasure to eat a good home style dish as that can pleasure even the finickiest pallet. Their selection of drinks will bring a cheer to any celebration. Just glad to have Mimis Cafe in Downey!

We have always had our Thanksgiving dinner at home or at a family members home. But, for the first time in our entire married life we had it at a restaurant. We choose Mimi's. Well, we were NOT disappointed! The restaurant was very busy we should have made reservations but it really wasn't necessary. Our wait time was under 10 minutes. When we received our food it was hot, plentiful and delicious! Yes, we would have Thanksgiving dinner there again. The only problem the bar was not fully stocked or staffed, but that wasn't a real problem for us. A big thumbs up for Mimi's.

The food here is great with an excellent selection of dishes. I had the salmon omelet for breakfast. It was yummy. Of course their muffins can't be beat. The only drawback is the wait can be long, even on a weekday morning.

The turkey dinner was horrible. The turkey was rubbery and plastic like, it wasn't edible. I was given strawberry sauce instead of cranberry. The coleslaw and stuffing had a weird taste and smell to it. The whole dish was horrible. It's a shame we have to spend all that money for a horrible meal.

This was my first visit to a Mimi's Cafe. I had dinner here with my wife. It was not too busy when we arrived (around 6:30pm) with three groups ahead of us in the waiting area but we were all seated within 10 minutes. I absolutely loved the decor and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. I chose the 3 course meal with a french onion soup, baked brie appetizer, jambalaya on long grain rice and bread pudding for dessert. My wife had the roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The Jambalaya was the best I've had in a few years and the bread pudding was warm and so delicious, and the portion large enough that my wife and I were able to share it together which made it even more special. The waitress was very attentive and helpful and brought us several refills for our drinks. Our total for all of this was around $60. I can't wait to come back again and try some of the other menu items. If you love delicious food and amazing service in a beautiful setting, this place is for you.

It was a special day in which I was proposing and anything everything seemed to go wrong.... waitress lagged attention and just took her time to bring us our drinks and menus... and we asked for more bread and she just took another 20 minutes... so I finely got up and asked for bread from another lady there... could have been better. Food is ok.

I recommend Mimi's Cafe from Downey. The food is exquisite and our waiter Tony made our experience extremely delightful. He is so cordial and attentive your experience will be out of this world. As for the majestic flavors on the food 😋 is a place you will love and come back for more.

One of the best breakfast place to bring your family. The service is amazing and always very attentive. Our waiter Efrain was really nice and made sure we had a pleasant time. You will enjoy every meal in here it is a must try.

It’s been a while since I’ve come to Mimi’s but tonight I decided to give it a chance and was pleasantly surprised! We were quickly greeted by our wonderful server Darlene who took excellent care of us. She recommended the tomato basil and shrimp ravioli which was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be returning soon :)
