Wonderful place to camp! My son has had his Trailer up there for several days during my grandkid's Spring Break. Our family all went up for Easter today. The weather was just beautiful. There is plenty of shade, barbeque grills swimming pool and play areas for the kids. There are also Teepee's, Covered Wagons available to rent for camping, in addition to cabins.

Fun campground! Have stayed twice now in their Teepees. 10 minutes away from town. Creek nearby. Lots of activities to keep children entertained. I definitely recommend this place.

Very lovely place to go to in the summer. The climate is sunny but not too hot and there is always a cool breeze. However the night time is very cold so take that into account if tent camping. The bathrooms are relatively clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. From my experience, other campers were very kind and sociable as well. There are friendly peacocks that roam around the campgrounds. The mountains and forests are gorgeous in the early morning. 10/10 would live on the campgrounds.

VERY DISAPPOINTED …if I could put no stars I would. I booked an RV site and literally 3 minutes later was made aware I could not put a tent on the site, which I do often at other places, and called to cancel. I was still charged $10 for canceling. The park was fully booked June and July so they don’t need the money it’s just GREED. And when I asked for some consideration I was told “it’s the owners policy”. Was really disappointing…you can cancel 48 hours out, next time I will hold my reservation and cancel then at the last minute so at least I get my $10 worth of services from them. I have never been to KOA and have a few RV park memberships but don’t think I’ll ever book here again for the principle of it.

I will never go there again!!! I took my family for a mini vacation I paid for 4 cabin's when we got there 2 of the cabins weren't ready so we had 6 extra people in my cabin which I was ok with it for a bit but 3 to 4 hours???? I don't understand why there is more added to more to this visit but I told the front desk and she said oh we were short staffed so I told her you guys can't use COVID as excuse you bit more then you can chew. I told her that I want the GM to call me directly and it's been 7 days now and still no follow up? We go to the KOA in San Diego and never had the experience that we had here in Ventura, so many restrictions that we were not aware about the pool closes at 7pm? The air-conditioning didn't work the brick in the patio was broken and I saw a filter for the Air conditioner that looks like it hadn't been changed since the place opened. It was truly a joke way too much money for this place and I didn't care for it at all.

This was by far one of our top RV camping spots. Just the two of us needing a place for few days while visiting family. But if you have kids what a great place!! So much to do here. Peacocks everywhere! So beautiful and quiet. My only complaint was on the road leaving out of the park past the store some tree branch scraped and scratched the side of our motorhome. Not too happy about that! But all in all this park will not disappoint 💜

Loved going here, good times with the family! kids loved the zip line and the Big Foot stories. Watch out for the wild Peacocks, they DO NOT BELONG TO THE PARK!

Conestoga wagon was great!!! Would have paid extra for electricity. Hopefully, in the near future. Campground was filled with activities for the kids. Shower room were clean with running hot water. No campstore on Campground but 1 mile before there is a general store. Overall, great camping experience for the kids!!! Coming back next year!!!

Such a nice getaway during COVID-19. They are practicing the safety guidelines and for the most part so were the guests. The pool is big and not overly crowded. A lot of the activities were closed because of the pandemic like zip lining and rock wall and the bouncy mat and the playground, but the kids brought their bikes so they were happy biking around and biking on the bmx track and going to the pool. I was worried they weren’t allowing fire pits because of the fires, but it was fine! The sky was clear and we could see so many stars! We stayed in Teepee1 which was fine - comfy queen mattress and two single pads in the floor. No electricity and the bathroom was a walk but we knew that ahead of time. Cell service is just fine. The other Teepees were right next to us with not much privacy between but again that didn’t bother us too much. We’d come back again!

Great place to take the family. The cabins are a great option if you want to go glamping. Cabins are fully outfitted with microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, pans, and utensils. The upstairs loft is great for kids to play and sleep. Lots of room to chill between hiking and swimming. Had a propane grill and fire pit and patio set. The only downsides were that the cabin we stayed in smelled a bit like wet dog and the floors pretty dusty. Due to covid-19, the jumping pillow, zip line, gem mining, were closed. The hiking trails and swimming pool were still open, but the pool could get crowded on hot days. The main office and (planned) store rebuild have been delayed due to covid-19. The labyrinth is a fun walk and cool rock structure. The location is close to Santa Paula and Ojai. The peacocks hanging around everywhere fun for kids. Nice and peaceful at night, friendly visitors and staff.

We just checked in reserved full hook ups get to our site and no sewer and useless to call the office no answer gave called 15 times. I guess we are stuck with it. The site is beautiful but not what we reserved. Hope the tanks don't fill up. Very frustrated. But after talking to the office they had a tank come to empty our tanks. So very pleased now. They were very nice about it.

Quiet in December. Nestled in the foothills so feels like you are far away from civilization. Nice sites for RVs but not all have full hook-ups. A dump station is available on your way out. They also rent Teepees, covered wagons and cabins. Have lots of kids stuff like playground, giant inflatable jumping bag, climbing wall, gem panning (costs extra), zip line (costs extra), pool and other activities. Not all activities are available in the winter off season. Will stay here again!

The staff was rude and made claims per terms and conditions they couldn’t back up then proceeded to tell us it’s listed in a blog as if that would hold up in court as factual. The rude staff Wouldn’t and couldn’t articulate why they were so rude rather then just fixing the mess they made. Their answer to giving away our campsite was the people checked in early and per terms and conditions it’s allowed. The owner refused to contact me or acknowledge their mistake. Finally they moved us to a area similar to what we had previously booked. The bathrooms and showers were gross. The pool was cold. The only nice things were the other campers and location. My advice is get all new staff and house keeping before someone takes legal action or gets sick from dysentery. If you’re looking for a Genuine KOA stay this definitely isn’t it.

Crazy, family-friendly place. We parked our tiny trailer among a horde of extremely friendly retirees in RVs. It was a perfectly fine for one night on the way to somewhere else. Not our type of camping but KOA always makes you feel welcome! Also, really pretty here.

  • 3/5 Pat B. 1 year ago on Google
Really good for get away. Lots of peacocks. Only issue is that the road could’ve been enforced. There was no speed limit sign therefore lots of cars blast past the campgrounds where kids are on their bikes so be mindful of that. Should add speed bumps. The road needs updating (repavement). The free wifi is slow so you better off using a personal hotspot but hey you are camping right? That should be least of your worries. There is no tv cable hook up as well. Their pool is clean. We still had a blast despite the cons.

  • 4/5 Aileen S. 1 year ago on Google
This KOA is clean, with plenty to do. You get use to the peococks making their peacock noices, and they are spectacular to watch. A mere half hour from Ventura Harbor and beach and other tourist attractions. Dog friendly. Restrooms are clean and the people that work there are super friendly.

This is a great campground. Lots to do to keep the kiddos entertained. They have nice fire rings that can also have a grill for cooking. My problem was the bathrooms, the ones by our campsite did not have toilet paper in the holders, they dumped the giant rolls on top of the toilet and they are hard to handle. Plus the lights didn’t work all weekend.

So happy to spent my Labor Day’s long weekend here with family ! Kids went their adventure in thrilling zipline and after that soaking themselves in a moderate-size pool. Baby was so excited looking at peacocks that playing around our teepee. Flush toilets and showers are around the campsite, so I can say for the first-time or novice camper, this place is highly recommended.

Not the best KOA but we would come back for sure. The staff is awesome, our campsite was good but there was alit of ants. However, with that being said we have had ants everywhere we have been and we have been in the road for about two weeks.

The Ranch is located at a very nice place, you got a water stream and whole lot of different trees and activities all around. We stayed at a tpee on late October for Halloween, the only thing I think it really needs it's an update on the ranch itself for example relabeling parking spots, cabins, tpees etc. It will make a better experience and it will look allot better. P.s. if you're planning on staying during cold days I suggest you take either sleeping bags or plenty of blankets.

I must commend the friendly, warm and helpful managers and office staff that helped me during this stay. The facilities at this park must be wonderful for a family in warmer weather. Zip lines, climbing walls, staying in covered wagons and teepees is amazing! But have times been tough lately? Have the owners lost interest? During my stay, families thronged in one weekend and the resulting trash littered the park afterwards. Bins overflowed and recycling is not prominent nor encouraged. The showers were not cleaned once in the 10 days I stayed. Yep clocked the same dirt every day. Neither were campsites cleaned, leaves raked, gardens tended nor trash picked up. Staff seemed to zip around in golf carts but not really doing anything! Couldn't even check the bin lids were closed at night even after animals had strewn the contents over the road. Which stayed there for two days. I was tired of tripping over refuse at every corner of the park. The KOA reservation system told me a Premium site was the only one available at the time of booking. I did not require a falling apart brick patio for top dollar but to arrive to a half empty campground (save for long termers who BTW start engines at 5:30 am and speed through the park) was an insult to my intelligence. They did adjust my final bill as there really was no excuse. The computer system seemed unmanageable as they could not find my reservation every time I went to the office and it showed all those empty sites as full! We expect better, cleaner facilities for the price at any KOA.

We had an awesome time. Our kids are 6 and 3 and we were not sure if there was going to be enough to do without the pool open, but we had a blast! We walked down to the creek, explored the campground, and got to climb the rock wall. The kids had a great time on the jumping pillow and playground. The staff was awesome. Ryan helped get us checked in and the lay of the land. She made sure our kids felt right at home and was super friendly and welcoming. Our cabin was great, we will certainly be back!

First time here at this KOA and we had a great experience. Note to self when tent camping in February, PORTABLE PROPANE HEATER IS A MUST!!!! Aside from it being cold, loved the space we had, close to the bathroom and showers (took a long time for the water to heat up). The fire pit with the grill was fantastic at each site. Creek was nice, water still flowed strongly along the river, a lot of great places to walk around. Close to Ojai and the beach. I must acknowledge that the staff was friendly, and helpful, especially Doug. They had enough firewood when we ran out. Peacocks roamed freely and there were tons of activities for kids, teens, and adults. The labyrinth was amazing and huge, and I loved walking it. I would recommend this campsite and I will be returning. Overall, the people tent camping were friendly, great to see tons of moms with kids enjoying the outdoors.

Lots of activities (zip line, jumping pad, pool, walking trails), but a CG should pay attention to what is most important and that's the RV sites. Most of the sites are not level and the bathrooms/showers are a long walk with several flights of stairs. The roads are narrow and not very big rig friendly. Wi-Fi worked well, and the staff was very nice. We camped at Ventura Ranch KOA Holiday in a Motorhome.

  • 4/5 Niclas L. 1 year ago on Google
Great camping site. Nice clean showets and wc. Wake up to the sound of peacocks that run around the camping site. The site is quiet and well placed . Came in winter season so everything was not opened. Look like an even greater place during the summer season with many acivitys.

  • 4/5 T S. 1 year ago on Google
Nice campground & quiet for most part but there was 1 or 2 sites by us that were outside making noise until 12 am, our site was to small we did not have enough room to park our car, they have beautiful peacocks that roam around.

Everyone's looking for a different experience at these places so this review might not pertain to you but seems like no one answers the phone. I had to call back several times and it just goes to voicemail after ringing twice. There are no TVs in the cabins. And the WiFi is getting 0.29 megabits per second. Update: the power went out twice while we were here during a heatwave. The pool was having issues clouding up so they shut it down. This happened to be during the power outage so there was no way to escape the heat except for the creek which turned out to be kind of nice. I did complain about the WiFi and one of the employees told me that it's an ongoing problem that people always complain about but the people in charge just don't seem to care about fixing. We won't be coming back here.

I have no experience at the park but I can tell my experience setting up a long term stay and having to cancel it we’re like night and day!! Setting it up the staff was helpful responsive easy to reach, returned calls. Due to repairs that went array with our trailer we had to cancel our planned stay and attempted for 3 days to contact. Voicemail was full, couldn’t reach staff, left message, sent email. Finally on the day of our arrival someone called we again explained the situation. We were told we’d have to speak with owners, texted proof of our attempts, texted again and sent another email. As of this review we’ve never heard from anyone, had our texts responded too, calls returned NOTHING!! They kept our $500 deposit with zero acknowledgement of their failings or even had the decency to have a conversation with us. I won’t ever use this park despite it looking really nice because it seems all business to get your upfront money and all shady after.

We have camped here for years and every year it gets worse - undisclosed fees and moving you to a different site without your knowledge. It has also gotten a lot less safe. Not recommended.

  • 3/5 Kerrielou F. 3 years ago on Google
We are actually still here. The park is wonderful. So many things for kids to do you can see they care about the kid experience. They did a spectacular Halloween event for kids. The only reason for 3 stars is the bathroom/showers are horrible and wifi is sporadic. We will for sure come again.
