Nearby free parking in the neighborhood (I parked near the Top Gun: Maverick Penny's house). Or park at the beach for cheap ($1/hr). Swings and picnic tables on the sand are nice amenities. The long breakwater to the lighthouse keeps the water really calm.

The mile long Cabrillo Beach is popular for swimming, surfing and beach volleyball. Early morning is best, very stunning and breathtaking sunrise.

You have to pay per hour to park, it's cheap but not worth it. If you park on the hill it's free. The old building used to be a bath house. They still have bathrooms and each side has a shower area, u fortunately some take that to mean clothing optional. Some surf at the beach despite being rocky. In the distance there is a view of the light house which can only be accessed by boat, despite being connected to the beach. Has a good view of the port. Part of sunken city seems to be accessible by the beach.

One dollar an hr for parking. Cool beach with swings and playground. Also free wifi. There weren’t too many people , then again I went on a week day. They have showers that close at 6 ( right side of parking ) as well as a shower that is open pretty much until the beach closes.

Good beach to hang out at. Has a playground for the kids. The ocean is nice for swimming. Beautiful views from the mountains to the sunsets. Also all kinds of room the bbq and chill on a nice summer day. Also a great place to take pictures and have fun with the family.

Clean Beach has parking in and out on the street if you are lucky to find it. Restrooms were clean, and the other side of Cabrillo Beach is a great place to swim or learn because there are no tide or hard waves. There's also a fishing pier!

Time and time again, you just get surprised by the different gems you find in Southern California. What a spectacular beach in San Pedro. The view is breathtaking and you can see the part of Los Angeles from the beach. It's a very quiet spot and I highly recommend anyone to visit this paradise!

Another SoCal Gem. Two beaches for the price of one. The inner harbor is excellent for small children, as the breakwater reduces the waves almost entirely. And on the south facing main beach, the waves are often small as well. One of the best places to learn to surf, or launch a kayak to open water, skills permitting. Also bonfires are legal here, just clean up after yourself, please. The bathrooms exist, but are blah.

I like the tide pools here so much. This has a lot more animals than the nearby beach. There are sea slugs, crabs, hermit crabs, and fish. Also, sometimes seals could come too.

Hot showers, restrooms, bombfires, BBQs, children playground, life guards patroling, fire station, and more.. Boat ocean entry,, parking lot allows rvs, boats, card, etc. open during day time til like 8/9 pm(I'll find out and edit this if needed). There's free parking up on Steward and Grey but limited to like 20 or less cars. Really, Cabrillo is a awesome beach spot for so all. Don't disrespect though, don't liter, don't give lifeguards or police a hard time IF they coming at you right, and be courteous of the families and children around. GRUNIONS BREED BY THE THOUSANDS PERIODICALLY, FOOD TRUCKS AND ICE CREAM TRUCKS SOMETIMES ARE PRESENT DURING SPECIAL EVENTS, AND AS FOR SCUBA DIVING, ITS VERY SAFE AND A BEGINNERS LEVELED BEACH, AS FOR SPEARFISHING.. WELL THERES A LOT OF SAND AND VISIBILITY I DONT KNOW IF THE SWELL EVER CHILLS OUT HERE. FISHING ON THE PIERS IS COOL THOUGH WHEN I WAS LIVING HERE WITH MY RV, I WOULD WAKE UP EARLY AND CRUISE DOWN TO THE PIER WTH MY PITBUL AND CATCH US SOME MACKEREL FOR BREAKFAST FISH TACOS. U DONT NEED A FISHING LICENSE TO FISH ON THE PIER. ;) :)

It’s just OK. Very deserted and the sand is very very fine, and if you dig a little bit, the sand is mixed with sparkling black sand like the ones you see in Hawaii.

This is a hidden gem in Southern California. Most of the time you will find plenty of parking and not a whole lot of people. I used to love coming early in the day and enjoy the cool breeze of the beach. Lots of places for picnic or to go for a nice walk. The aquarium is near by and that’s another gem also.

The multi-ethnic & mostly Catholic community of this Los Angeles Harbor Town, spend their days w/their families & friends until park closes. There's plenty of toilets & taps too. Barbequeing is allowed except for those months when there's fire danger. Children come here from faraway school districts to visit the Marine Aquarium within the Carrillo Beach. There are vendors who sell bottled water, canned soft drinks & packaged snacks. Cabrillo Beach is well maintained by City of Los Angeles Harbor Division Sanitary Crews. This is a very tranquil & safe place to spend & enjoy the day. I strongly advice that you check in advance to make sure they are open. THIS IS A SPECIAL BEACH FOR ME WITH MANY BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES!

Took my one year to the beach for the first time during our mini trip to LA (Nov.3-5) I love how this beach is lowkey and not crowded. The restrooms were closed but they have porter potties. The potties were clean and didn’t smell. The beach here was beautiful. My one year loved it!!
