My
personal
preference
to
go
here,
apart
from
taking
my
visitors
to
the
north
Venice
Beach
tourist
attractions.
Down
here,
south
of
the
Venice
Boardwalk,
parking
is
easier,
the
bike
path
is
much
less
crowded,
less
of
anybody
and
everybody
and
more
of
the
locals,
just
for
the
beach,
pier
and
restaurants!
From
the
Venice
Beach
Boardwalk,
south
of
the
tennis
courts,
the
paved
path
extension
of
the
walkway
connects
and
combines
in
places
with
the
bike
path
thru
the
residential
Venice
Beach,
continuing
down
to
Washington
Blvd.
The
people
along
the
beachfront
path
here
are
more
orderly
and
less
haphazard,
than
at
the
Boardwalk
area
beach
paths,
especially
with
the
bike
trail
there.
Bike
riderโs
and
โboarders
continue
along,
often
going
thru
the
marina
(Marina
Del
Rey).
Down
this
way,
the
atmosphere
is
less
commercial
and
more
subdued,
with
the
beach
and
ocean
here
good
for
relaxation
and
meditation
with
the
views,
sunbathing,
swimming,
skimming,
surfing
and
bodyboarding.
The
restrooms
on
average
are
cleaner
and
outdoor
showers
better
and
are
available
just
to
the
south
of
the
Venice
Pier.
Good
restaurants
with
outdoor
and
now
indoor
dining
line
the
street
at
Washington
Blvd.
Thereโs
convenience
grocery
stores
if
needed
also
on
Washington.
A
Venice
canal
view
and
walk
is
also
possible
from
the
second
block
of
Washington,
at
the
north
side.
The
Venice
Pier
is
under
renovation,
tho
will
be
bigger
and
better
than
ever
before!
Parking
is
up
to
$18.
on
weekends
at
the
foot
of
Washington
Blvd.
The
alternative
is
with
metered
spaces
along
Washington
Blvd
for
up
to
two
hours.
There
also
may
be
available
street
parking
spaces
along
Pacific
Av
near
Washington,
tho
because
the
surrounding
area
is
vertical
residential
(limited
space
built
upwards),
parkingโs
at
a
premium
right
by
the
beach.
My
apprehension
driving
into
a
crowded
scenario
to
park,
meld
in
with
all
of
the
people
(accepting
of
all
behavior)
and
getting
stuck
in
traffic
jams
on
the
way
out,
is
considerably
less
here!
While
I
do
recommend
the
more
northern
beaches
of
Venice
and
Santa
Monica
to
see
for
the
associated
attractions
(Santa
Monica
Pier,
Venice
Boardwalk,
Skateboard
Park
and
Rec
Center)
and
what
they
have
to
offer,
the
south
end
of
Venice
Beach
here
is
not
so
much
a
โmust
seeโ
tourist
hot
spot,
just
a
cool
place
to
hang
outโฆor
hang
ten
on
the
โboard!
