So glad they did a renovation. Lovely park indeed. For those who are allergic to dust and bird feathers, I suggest you come with mask or allergy medicine. Great place to stroll, run or workout. Recommend for families, young and old.

This park has been restored to its Beauty for our FAMILIES to enjoy. You can take a nice walk around the park or enjoy a nice lake ride with the swans . ❀ Don't forget your blanket and picnic basket!

It's not the cleanest park around, but it's full of geese, turtles, and ducks, and I saw a crane too! The restrooms aren't that bad, and they have an exercise area and a kids' playground. They also have the lake with the huge and tall water spout, and you can rent a paddle boat for 12 bucks a person, but it's paid by phone only.

Super trendy park. Always has a lot of people around. Parking is the worst. Restrooms are nasty. The only cool thing about this park is the dtla LA views and the swan boats.

Beautiful park. Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Lots of grass and shady areas. Ducks walking around . You can jog around the lake or sit on a blanket and take a nap. Street vendors selling food outside the park. Restrooms are like every park iffy. Only bad things are its hard to find parking because all the people living in their vehicles take up all the spots and the occasional random crazy person walking around. But that can be said for every park anywhere. Bring a date and ride on those swan things on the lake.

Even though it is small park but you will feel serene and peaceful. They maintained it very well including free restrooms. We had boating at $12 per person in LA. Must visit

Really liked the atmosphere now. People jogging, glitter of water, street foods, swan ride, urban skyline growing from between the trees, children running giggling, goose walking with family. Public urban space should be for everyone to enjoy.

I love coming here to sit and read. Great spot to watch animals, take a stroll, or have a picnic. The swan boats are very fun and worth doing! Street parking, which can be hard to find on peak days/times like the weekend.

Super cool park with spectacular view of downtown skyline. The trail around the lake is nice and well maintained. The streets around are quite busy but you can pick up an Uber from a side street pretty easily.

what's there to say about echo park lake that hasn't been said before? it's great. you'd love to come and see the swan boats on the water, take a walk around and even sit down and enjoy the views. you'll see some colorful characters depending on the time of day but you'll be fine.

This is a really beautiful, middle-size park near the center of the city. We enjoyed tenting the swan boats on a sunny day and watching the beautiful fountain. A lot of people came here to exercise and picnic, this is a perfect place for weekend family fun!

I really love this upgraded park. Although Echo Park has been reopened for several years, it is really getting better now. But there are still a few homeless people sleeping in the park, and parking problems are terrible. There is absolutely no place to park here. When we left the park late at night, the parking management department was taking pictures of the parked license plates, basically issuing a ticket. If you find a parking space near the park, you are really lucky. However, once you enter the park, you will find it a great place to sit and chat and watch the children play. The duck boat is also very cute. There are also many small chambers of commerce that sell coffee, food, ice cream and clothes.

Paddle boats are an affordable way to enjoy the lake and take in beautiful views of LA skyscrapers combined with the natural beauty of the lake. Can be a romantic outing or fun with kids. Be sure and take in a coffee or delightful snack like avacado toast at the cafe.

Really beautiful view of downtown Los Angeles. I came during the day and walked around. Tons of vendors around so you can buy food and snacks if needed. I went to grab some food nearby and then came back at night to get on the swan in the water. Was fun. 11$ a person and 6$ per kid. Not bad. And they’re not really strict about how long you’re out there. Highly recommend. Very relaxing and a nice date night.

Beautiful park where we can enjoy nature and have a nice view of downtown LA. You can also Enjoy the lotus flower blossom during this time of the year. Very nice walk around the lake with the fountain as foreground. Can’t ask for more than that. It’s such a nice day to take some pictures. I wish we could have gone there during the golden hours in the evening where the sun is more beautiful for picture taking. There were plenty of parkings around the lake when we went in the morning today. But please take the valuables with you when leave your car.

Went to the Lotus Festival with my boyfriend. He didn't want to stay long, so we left after a little over three hours. While we were there, he got some beefy nachos for late lunch/early dinner. He already had an iced green tea from 7-Eleven to drink. Then I got him a funnel cake, which we ended up splitting. Then he stayed behind in the food area while I went to the main stage and took pictures of different performers. I posted some of them on Facebook while I was there. I'll post the rest later. I must say, it wasn't as crowded as in earlier years. There was *no* line at the funnel cake stand. I wish I could have stayed longer, but my boyfriend is a bit crowd phobic. So we left. It was a nice enough time. ☺️😁☺️😁

Peacefully bustling with moments of sketchiness. A man made lake created in 1892, you will find ducks, geese, blackbirds, rainbow trout, turtles & more! Within the 1 mile stretch that surrounds the lake, there is a vast array of spots to sit and take in the scenery where so many have before you & the many more that will follow. Finding parking nearby is a challenge, welcome to L.A. With Metro buses stopping on Sunset Blvd, I favor using your tap card for this trip. The aromas from the Beacon Cafe are appetizing. The aromas from the nearby "out of order" toilets, not so much. Regardless, take a deep breath, slow down, put your damn phone away & take in all the beauty that still stands strong at the Echo Park Lake. The last swan boat rental pedals out at 9pm.

We rode the swan boats when they first came out, so much fun! They look absolutely beautiful at night, because each swan boat is lit up as they gracefully trace their way across the water. The lights are reflected on the lake below. It is truly lovely! I wish that Westlake Park, otherwise known as McArthur Park, would have a similar revival. (After all, Harrison Gray Otis, founder of the LA Times, lived right across the street from it!) So much potential. Echo Park is also a wonderful place to walk around or picnic in. The Movie β€œChinatown” with Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway was filmed there. If you don’t have a lot of time, even driving around Echo Park on the surrounding streets, is a quick, relaxing experience.

What I like the most is the lake itself. It's nice to walk all around it. I love the mini bridges and the different water plants, some even with beautiful flowers especially the lotuses. It's so nice to watch the birds and turtles. Looking at all these felt so relaxing and for a moment, I forgot I'm still in LA.

Made the trip to visit the lake after reading reviews and it being listed as a β€˜must see’ in the L.A. area, unfortunately I was very disappointed. Not sure if I went on a bad day or if it’s extremely overrated? The lake is small and surrounded by encampments of homeless people, some heckling visitors as well as a lot of small vendors selling fruit and various goods. It’s really unkempt with excess trash and belongings of the homeless scattering the park. Parking is scarce and because of the poorly kept grounds I didn’t even bother trying to hire the overpriced swan peddle boats. Some nice views of DTLA but I wouldn’t rate it as being one of the nicest places in LA! If you’ve got to tackle the traffic to visit the lake, or if it’s out of your way, I wouldn’t bother.

It's very pretty and mostly clean, despite also hosting a tent village, having so many pooping water fowl and it being such a popular destination in general. Great place to jog or walk your dog. Not hard to social distance there, either. Parking can be a nightmare. Just drive in a circle and a spot usually opens up by the 3rd loop. I would not visit this park after dark.

Echo Park Lake has changed within the last 5 years. When I lived in the city, the park was pretty empty with lots of available grass on sit on. Now, it is overcrowded with homelessness on one side of the lake. They maintain their areas very well, though. Some areas of the park smell worse than others. Running around the trail used to be enjoyable but not so much anymore. A lot more vendors have set up shop around the lake, which limits the amount of space to picnic even more than it already is. I do appreciate that the peddle boats from the cafe have upgraded to swans for a more enjoyable scenery. Still a staple of the city to check out, just not as empty as before.

Nice place to picnic and stroll around the lake. This place has come a long way. Gone are the days where you only saw homeless druggies. Since it’s been gentrified, the crown seems a little more mixed. I feel safer here than it was 10 years ago. Parking can be found around the lake and you can rent boats to ride around the lake.

The world needs more places like this. Probably the most beautiful place in SoCal due to the maintenance. Honestly all parks etc can b that beautiful if they were maintenanced. This place has service for turning ppl into swans so that's where that money comes from. If all parks did that, they could b making as much money too. Literally everything from dream world is there. Arguably better than Disneyland & all the other theme parks. Huge oxygen producer due to the lively environment & cools the air due to the fountain. However, there was Mexicans selling non vegan bbq & Africans streaming rap loudly over speakers so that ruined the mood. However, it is overall very lovely. Turtles & ducks apparently loves corn tortillas & corn cereal. Highly recommended

Three of us fished today with Brian and Jose. While fishing was a little slow for most of the day, it did pick up in the end. Fishing is fishing and I do not evaluate guides solely on the results which may be beyond their control. Instead, I focus on the quality of service. In short, I do not think I have ever fished with a harder working or more talented saltwater Captain than Brian. Captain Brian served as our "deckhand" and Jose drove the boat when fishing. In of its self, that fact is extraordinary. The boat is amazing and very comfortable. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough and cannot wait to fish with them again.

33 years of living in this area and the park has always been a great place as kids to go play with our cousins and find new friends in the playground. As teens to go hang out with friends. And ready to buy a raspado or an elote. And as adults to get a coffee with a friend, have a picnic, walk the dogs. This place is just amazing. It was really bad when they closed it but now it's even better, too many homeless people but they have been working on that. The duck rides is a plus.

If you’re a local, this is one of those things you need to try. Don’t forget bug spray as there are tons while you’re on the water, especially as the sun starts to set. Smaller kids might get bored super quick. You get 45 minutes in your swan and it’s an honor system.

An absolutely beautiful lake and park that's kept in reasonably clean, well-groomed shape. The lake itself was initially created to serve as a reservoir and received a massive cleanup several years ago. Indeed, it's the presence of lotuses and waterlilies in the water that give the lake a vivid, vibrant feel.

This is a beautiful historic LA park with iconic views of downtown skyline and palms. Ride the paddle boats around the tall fountain. Walk around the lake and look at the turtles and various birds. As of December 2020 the park is heavily occupied by people living in tents, worth seeing, and a fair number of lost souls, but it’ still feels hospitable to families.

One of my favorite places to go for a walk after work or on my day off. It’s a good public place with a fair amount of people walking around the lake. Also has a beautiful view at dusk. Parking can sometimes be a challenge so you may lap around the block a couple times to find it. If it’s busy I can usually find parking on the west side of the park across the street.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Need a break from the lockdown? Head to Franklin and enjoy the gorgeous wilderness right here in the city. We brought our dog and felt totally refreshed after 60 min walking the trails. There are many β€œoff-trail” options too which felt adventurous.
