I took truck with 5th wheel to use the dump station and my truck started overheating and my husband came down to see if he could fix it but it was too dark. So my husband said he would look at it in the morning. We woke up with 5 tickets. First cop put one on my truck for violation sign and 1 on my husband's truck violation of signs 30 minutes later 3 more ticket from a different cop. Violation of signs, out of stall, and oversized vehicle. I tried fighting them but no help from mayors office, the City and the phone number on back of ticket. No help from anyone.

The ramp is wide, but the docks are not close enough to the ramp to allow for you to walk your boat over, making the process a bit challenging without company. Ramp allowed me to launch and retrieve my 900lb folding keel sailboat with my golf turbo-diesel. Public restrooms are available.

Sadly City of San Diego has allowed this area to become a homeless encampment. Homeless are allowed to camp overnight illegally and take over all the parking spots. City does not enforce the parking rules for the homeless but tickets everybody else. I feel unsafe in the area with so many homeless people. City needs to clean up the area if they ever hope to have me visit again.

Best launch in San Diego. The docks are going to need some repairs soon before they start tearing boats side apart. The parking lot has become a homeless RV park so I fear about my vehicle security. As far as the launch you can't beat it.

South shores boat launch is the gem of SD boat launching. Plenty of room to launch and park. Restrooms and a fresh water cleaning area.

Parking lot hours - closed 10 pm-4 am ! Don't park here before 4 am ticket=$52.50 Also don't park single auto in car/truck/trailer spaces !!$52.50 ticket ! Hey Pugsley! Its trash " bins"!

Very good boat launch, lots of space. Lots of parking. However there is currently a vagrant population near the restrooms and evidence in bushes. Unrelated to that issue, there are now at least 4 party boat charters leaving from the docks here every few hours on a saturday. Restrooms are grungier.

Nice big launch ramp, too bad the homeless have taken over the place. I don't blame them , if your homeless it's a great spot.

Really nice and seldom used boat ramp for access to mission bay. If you don't mind launching east of Sea World this is so much nicer than Dana Point ramp. Also the parking for truck and trailer is very close.

I really enjoy coming here, there's a lot of wildlife to see. They have fire pits near the water, lot's of nice trails. You can ride your bike it's a pretty cool place I always enjoy myself.

Slower launch with plenty of parking. Might be a little shifty late late at night but there are usually cops in the lot. As long as you come in around sunset or a bit after, youll be good.

Big wide ramp & lots of restrooms.

This is our go to launching area. Unfortunately this Sunday on Labor Day weekend the walking ramp to get on our boat was super packed with people. Not one single person was wearing a mask. It was disheartening to see.

Great place for rv dumping and filling water tanks

Nice launch. Never too busy and good facility. Huge parking lot for storage and never even close to crowded. Only issue is a few homeless like to roam around near the bathrooms so please lock up your stuff.

Very helpful place if you're boating or driving a motorhome.

I use South Shore boat ramp only it's easy and clean and plenty of room for launching your boat. The trip to the ocean is a bit long but the ramp is worth it to me.

Had a hard time finding a place to launch. Couldn't at the launch we always use because it was closed. then was told about south shore launch, lots of room, loading on both sides of launch, very nice and lots of room, bathrooms, close had a good time out and even caught some fish..
