Violet Aquarium's new location is a solid LFS. They have loads of tanks stocked with most of the corals, fish, and inverts a reefer might be looking for. Even some high-end stuff. Check out my pictures. They also stock common and mid range priced frags which is where I like to stick to. I would say prices are reasonable and comparable to Neptune, except they've got a bit more exotic things in stock like batfish and ribbon eels. I bought a couple feather dusters, a bristle starfish, a cool rock with some green encrusting coral on it and some beautiful happy zoas. Ball and Lele were very helpful and Ball is very knowledgeable. I'm definitely going back.

Violet Aquarium is THE BEST place to buy marine life. I have a 1000 gallon mixed reef tank that has been running for about 5 years now. I have had a lot of experience with ordering from many different online fish stores over the years. Violet Aquarium tops them all. They have Best Prices, largest fish and they regularly carry hard to find livestock. Really Love their WYSIWYG so I know exactly what I am getting. And they stand behind their products and will always work with you. I would not buy anywhere else. I posted some of the fish I have purchased from them recently.

My husband and I recently got into this hobby. Not many online sellers are good. I have purchased from few but i like violet aquarium better since they have good variety of fish to choose from, good customer service, reasonable shipping cost, and healthy fish. So far i had three orders and all of them were success. Fish eats pellet food and frozen food.

Live in Michigan. First ever purchase. Came on time, well packaged. Purchased two Green Haddoni Carpet Anemones. Very sticky, which is a great sign of good health. Mouths closed. Waiting for them to open to full size. Advertised as 12 inches. Great price. I'm stoked!!! Placed in my 150 gallon mixed reef tank.

My family and I stopped by here after going to the Winchester Mystery house which is pretty close by. Be warned, this place is pretty hard to find, it’s way at the back of a commercial property in a residential area so trust your GPS. The showroom is no-frills but it doesn’t need to be, it’s all about the livestock and they guy who seemed to be the owner was friendly and has a bunch of cool fish and corals. I picked up a pink-tipped purple torch and some really nice Florida Ricordea all at a fair price. If you’re in the area or anywhere in Nor Cal and willing to make a day trip, there’s lots to do in the area and this place is definitely worth checking out.

So I ordered 4 fishes at this store. All of them had a ich and died in 5 days after receiving despite treatment. Also I choose small size fishes in website but all of them came 3-5 inches long. Update. Right now got email from seller and he started as You should QT all fishes first, your tank infected with ich and etc. He even didn't ask me if I do it? But I did and fishes died in qt tank🤣. Then he sait so you need to check your QT tank... brraaa. fishes from other stores are ok with my qt tank but these are not🤣 exactly my fault... it all comes down to him accusing me of not knowing anything about keeping and qt of the fish since he has thousands of them but me not🤣🤣🤣

I can say enough of how awesome this place is and how easy it is working with these guys . I just placed my 4th order with them and they are definitely a 5 star store in my book. They’ve helped me find and ship fish I’ve asked for and the specimens are healthy and fat and eat right away . They communicate constantly with me and shipping is a breeze . Look around their prices will be hard to beat.

I placed an order with them about a month ago. They notified me several days later the one of the fishes died from an employee error and asked how I wanted to proceed. They cancelled my entire order and refunded me at my request. Communication was excellent so I decided try them again and placed an order. Fish arrived today in excellent condition. Two fish in a box that weighed 40 lbs. (I definitely recommend air cargo) There was plenty of water, heat packs and oxygen. Triple bagged with heavy duty bags. Fish are exactly the ones shown on their website. Prices for what I ordered were better than good. A steal for one of the fish. I couldn’t be happier and will definitely use again. I’m glad to have found this online fish store. Pic is of the bag in a 10 gal aquarium (for size) for a 3 inch fish. Update: another order placed and I am again very happy. Healthy and vibrant fish. All four fish ordered were eating within an hour. The fish from the first order have shown no signs of disease in the QT tank and continue to do well. I’m glad I found this alternative online fish store.

I am in disbelief on how easy, quick and zero hassle ordering and receiving my bamboo shark aka Bruce and panther grouper cross states. I live in Phoenix, Arizona. This was my first ever online purchase. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical at first, never dared buying online. Im not a gambling person lol. Needless to say I am a new life time Violet Aquarium customer. Customer service has been unmatched, very polite and helpful putting all doubts at ease. My fish are perfectly healthy and gorgeous! New place that looks like it will be fantastic - much larger inside than you might expect. It's a bit hard to find, so just know it's a bit tricky. Only a few tanks now with some very cool selection; need to have prices and info or better/available customer service, but that may come with time? Really looking forward to seeing those tanks filled and tanks/supplies available to purchase.

Always a great place to come see the plentiful fishes and coral. Good people and great conversation. Price are a bit high but not their fault.

First time saw this fish store was on Facebook. Came in person and met with Paul. Very nice guy. Fish store is upgrade with more fishes and corals in stock soon. Cant wait to buy more corals and fishes from them. One of the few best saltwater fish store in Bay Area. They do ship out if needed.

I traveled over an hour to visit this store. It was worth it. Every one who worked there was so friendly and helpful. They had an amazing collection of fish and an even more amazing collection of beautiful corals. I would definitely recommend this store.

Decided to try out a new saltwater place, the staff is amazing, really guided me in the right direction on corals and fish. There fish and coral selection are great. Fish/inverts/coral well taken care of. Looking forward to coming back for more corals. Excited to see how the expansion looks when they are finished. Highly recommend this place!

Quality LFS. They have many corals and fish. What I notice in particular is the quality and care I see with each tank. Healthy environment. I purchased a few corals and so far a good experience.

I had such a good experience here that I figured I'd leave a review. I've been coming here for the past year every now and again. As someone whose been in the hobby for a few years now, I'm always pretty skeptical about buying new fish from any LFS, as I don't want my system to get nuked by a sick fish. I really appreciated the fact that one of the workers pulled me to the side when I asked him about quarantining fish. He mentioned that new shipments always go through a 10-15 day quarantine before making it into their display tanks, and he also showed me that in the back of the store is where they have their holding tanks to examine their fish. It seems that they really take care of their fish here. There's a unicorn tang that I've been seeing in one of their display tanks over and over again that's grown to be the size of a football lol. I ended up walking out with a new fish, and the guy was so kind to me, he even let me pick out one coral from his frag system for free. Amazing customer service, and I will be returning for when I purchase more livestock and corals.

I just started this reefing hobby. My wife and I met with Paul and I must admit the knowledge he has as well as his staff is off the chain!!! (Urban def- Top notch customer service) I’ve been to several LFS in the Bay Area. These folks are personal, down to earth, and fair. If you wanted to be treated well and given great pricing this is the place to be at. Thank you Paul and staff at Violet Aquarium for such a wonderful experience especially for us just starting out. I won’t go anywhere else but this place.

Great place a lot of fish you don't see often. I got a purple tang and they even gave me a free coral because of a very short wait because someone before me was getting a lot of fish... That free coral made my day... Unfortunately the tang passed after a few days 100% just from stress... But when I have the money for that kinda purchases ( good price just hard times) again will get a nice fish from here... This is my new go to fish place 100% recommend. It a hours drive for great fish...cant wait till I'm back

One of the best reef and coral stores in the bay area ! Paula, the owner, is a Tongan native and is so profoundly passionate about reef keeping. Better livestock selection than neptune!!!

After restarting my reef from a die-off last year, I found this shop while looking for new fish and invertebrates. They have it all. Lots of fish and coral selection, from small to x-large and ordinary to really fancy stuff. Corals I have not seen in any other shops. My kids were even impressed. The best part is their prices are better than other local shops. Shop did seem a bit small, but I got a small tour of their expansion in progress in the main warehouse and it is huge. Can't wait till it's all done. Thanks guys!
