extremely dirty building bathrooms are always dirty and stink. Exercise machine has not been cleaned in at least 3 years and rude employees the guy name marcus is extremely rude

This was once a great gym! I have been a member of Planet Fitness since 2016. I started at this location and moved away to the state of WA in 2020. I was excited when I moved back this past May because I missed my gym. It's ALWAYS dirty! I've gone at 5am, 12 noon, and in the evening. There isn't a good time to go. The AC doesn't work! I was told that it's going to be $60K to fix and it wouldn't be done any time soon. The person I spoke to would barely give me the first name of the regional manager (Rachel) but said that there was no way to contact her to voice my frustrations. Time to move on. This gym is a health hazard and should be shut down! The community of Rio Rancho deserves better!

Like the layout. But the old man at the front desk was not welcoming at all. This is the only planet fitness I’ve had a bad customer service at.

Im from out of town, I needed to take a shower. I saw the reviews from 2yrs ago that said something about black mold. They weren't lying. The showers are filthy. That was low-key becoming a biohazard. I recorded it!

Wanna get your workout on? Pump some iron to bulk up the biceps? Maybe hit the showers so you don’t smell like a high school gym locker room? Well, let us be the first to say…. DON’T START AT THIS LOCATION! 1) FILTHY BATHROOMS. Like, we didn’t want to touch anything, let alone take a shower. EW 2) VERY outdated facility. Located in what appears to be an old office building. It seems like they threw in some equipment and some paint and called it a day. 3) Parking lot is a mine field. After one experience here we quickly researched and found another location to use while in Albuquerque. Never stepped foot back inside.

Sanitation is an issue at this location. 50% of people don't use any for of sanitation after using it. Mold growing in the cracks in the tile.... seriously go pour some hydrogen peroxide on it... It will crackle with the screens of dying Bacteria and who knows what else. I tell the people at the front desk but ... $10 dollars a month, you get what you pay for..... please sanitize your equipment before and after uses or your on the germs side 🦠🦠🦠

This gym is okay. It’s a bit dark and there’s not much cell coverage which isn’t good if you’re trying to watch a movie or something while working out. But, the staff are nice and there’s tanning beds and lots of equipment.

The manager doesn't acknowledge you and is rude when I told him the ladies restroom was very dirty. The same trash on counters and floor. The dirtiest Planet Fitness I've been to.

the old manger in the yellow trainer shirt discriminates me and my friends because of how we look. We were in the bathroom and he stormed in clapped really loud as if he was trying to command us like dogs and then told us its “time for you to leave”. weve had a few bad experiences with him in the past. all around mean person. The group of people i usually go to the gym with are always respectful and nice to all of the employees regardless of the disrespect pushed in our direction by the older gentleman i previously refrenced. Personally i dont think planet fitness is an L gym. I do however think that within the ranks of the respectful, welcoming, gleaming employees of planet fitness there is an all around L employee. Once again, this does not pretain to any of the other employees. They’ve shown me nothing but their utmost hospitality.

Regarding the "renovation"....this is absolutely horrible. The women's showers are unacceptable. The handicap shower is too small to fit an average size chair, there is not a hand wand for showering and the water pressure was barely a sprinkle...totally not usable for even a non handicap person. There is no real dividing dressing rooms, zero privacy, no curtains or seating, no mirrors, shelves or any place for any belongings, just a bare floor...I guess we just stand there and wait for someone to come around the corner and peep on you...just 2 large spaces with no hooks for bags, clothes, etc. The shower stalls still have the old curtains, no soap dispenser and the new wall niches are either sideways are just too small because my shampoos won't even fit. The old dated bathrooms were at least usable. No new gym equipment either...some cheap shower heads, entryway tile and white paint...sadly we will no longer be coming to this Planet...the staff Nikki & JP are the only reasons we will even drop by to say HI. Unacceptable and wasted money!!!

This planet fitness is okay. The remodels was primarily done in the restroom with 2 half walls built on the gym floor. It’s not the best nor the worst it’s average.

Love the gym but they do not keep this branch clean, the Irving folks were always cleaning. The folks here just talk and what I've seen of the manager, he is unaware of how dirty his gym is. Other gym members have made the same comment. Anthony kept this place clean but he is no longer with the company.x

Convenient, located about 1 mile from home. Almost never crowded, always try to go during off-peak hours. Equipment maintenance is pretty good, rarely have a machine down. Always clean and not smelly. Plenty of machines so only have to wait occasionally. The hydro bed is worth the monthly fee, that’s my reward at the end of the workout. It would be nice if there was a larger area for yoga/floor/mat work outs.

It needs security cameras inside, some costumers take out electric cigarettes, put it away and take it out anytime when they want to use it. It is disrespectful, lack of good manners and pollution. We goes to the gym to relax the mind after work and to exercise the body. The music they play is not appropriate for a gym, it is loud, disturbing, it seems that they want to leave us deaf. It has a good variety of machines.

This evening we arrived at Planet fitness around 8 PM, the trainer Jason stated my male friend wasn't up to the attire of the gym, we've never had an issue about the clothing that we've worn to any planet fitness we've gone too, we also go to defined and they've absolutely never said anything either and he's worn the exact same attire. We've gone to all of the planet fitness locations in Albuquerque and the Rio location multiple times and that was the first time someone has ever mentioned that the tank top that he was wearing was not appropriate for the gym, it showed some skin but why is that never stated when some other people wear some extremely revealing clothing options? As stated on the online website, "Members may exercise in a wide variety of attire. Crop tops, sports bras, bralettes, short shorts, long pants, collared shirts are all welcome!," so, crop tops, bralettes, and sports bras that show the same amount of skin if not more are okay to workout in but not a tank top that has a collar? What exactly was the issue? We came to the planet fitness on Irving and Golf Course right after at 8:18 and I asked what the dress code was and the person who scanned our passes let us know that what we were wearing was completely fine and that it wasn't too revealing. As stated before we have gone to all the locations including the Rio Rancho location more than once and that was the first time it was ever brought up and now receiving the ok from this other location makes absolutely no sense. The way he approached it was rude and not handled well, stating that he "would let it slide this time." As stated in the many other comments below about the trainer, he is aggressive and disrespectful. We won't be coming back to this location.

Great facility Employees are decent a little distant but good. - tbh grave yard is where customer service really shines! Bathrooms always clean Equipment is always clean and in working order. Overall, fabulous environment!

I would rate it higher except the place is dirty. Men's locker room is quite disgusting. They seem to rely on the staff to keep the place clean, including the locker rooms, so you know how that's going to go. The staff is great, and if you just want to get a basic work out in, it's good for that.

Been a member for years, Great thing about Planet fitness is they are all over the state. Went to work in Santa Fe, no problem. I had a gym there too. And the hydro chairs are a nice touch also.

They have a great and welcoming atmosphere, the staff is very inviting and helpful. one of my favorite locations

The gym is clean. There aren't any dust bunnies running around, mirrors and windows are wiped down often. Josh, the Assistant Manager always has a great demeanor. I'd hire him!

Great selection of exercise machines, weights, arm bike, row & so much more. Training is offered, paper towels & sanitizer are always well stocked. If you don't know how to use a machine, you can scan the QR code & a short video will show you. That's helpful so you don't have to bother anyone!

I went into this gym today to see what the process entailed transfer my membership from old gym in Arizona to this one. Raul, the General Manager, spent a good 10 minutes changing my information on their computers and even a little more time to show me how to download and connect the app to my account. It was a smooth process. This was my first impression and needless to say I am delighted with the interaction. Just like people, gyms are a little different from one gym to another. This gym seems to have a little bit of a different feel from my previous gym. Its a little more crowded and it's a little bit darker--could use some more lighting. Perhaps its to keep the cost down? In any event, if I can achieve the desired result as I had in my old gym, I am good with that. Thank you Raul for a great first impression of the gym!

I switched locations due to Josh. He convinced me to make this location my home gym and made the transition for me and my family smooth as ever. I recommended this location to everyone I encounter and even have a few of my coworkers frequent this location as well. I think Josh is one of the most professional representatives I've interacted with I'm a long time. He has also pointed me in the right direction when seeking information on nutrition and workout tips whenever I ask. I encourage whoever reads this to swing on by this location and speak with Josh and see if you aren't inspired to sign up and start working out that same day! 💪🏼💯
